It's a cute, p[leasant indy coffee shop, the only one in town. The space is comfortable, inviting, sunny, you can have a relaxing chat over coffee or get some work done here. Service is pleasant though not very quick, the latter isn't very important to me when I'm in town, but it would irritate me if I was picking up en route to work or on a brief office break. The location is perfect if you're staying in the only hotel in town. One minor drawback is that they only use disposable cups, when I'm in a cafe for a fancy cup of caffeine, I prefer real china serviceware, but maybe they keep costs down this way.

Glad I stopped here! Got the Veggie breakfast sandwich and a mocha. Both were delicious! They offer soy or almond milk for their coffees!

Incredible sandwiches and very good coffee. Just a bit closer to Grand Rapids and I would be a regular.

The food, drinks and pastries here are exceptional, a tad on the pricey side for Lowell, but definitely a tasty treat. My low rating is based on two separate occasions when I planned a day around having a meal at Ella's with friend/family, and the kitchen was closed! Once it was Girl's Night Out in Lowell and the kitchen was just closed, no word on their Facebook, no sign on the door. We didn't find out until we were at the counter and super hungry and then had to go elsewhere. I guess it was because Ella had been there since 4am and was too tired to keep cooking. Understandable, but why not hire/train another chef? This last time, it was because the kitchen apparently closes an hour before the shop closes. Again, this information is not on the door or on their Facebook. My husband and I were about to head back to Chicago, and he was excited to finally try the place I'd been raving about, we saved ourselves all day, and they refused to serve us anything off the sandwich/soup/salad menu at 4:07pm, 7 minutes after the kitchen closed. Seriously? Why would you be open so close to dinner time if you wouldn't be willing to serve dinner? They didn't even offer us anything for our trouble, just said "we hope you'll come back!" No. We will not back. That was the last straw. Inconsistent hours/practices will kill a business--just like the three owners of that coffee shop locale that came before. It's sad too, because everything here really is the best it's ever been. But I've had it with their stupid kitchen hours. Don't be open if you're not going to offer your whole menu!

I go to Ella's to work on my Graphic Design quite often. Not only is the coffee and food great, but they have plenty of tables with outlets available to plug in my computer. It has a great atmosphere and located in a easily accessible spot. I highly recommend it.

This coffee shop/cafe was great! They prepared a special, delicious, sandwich for my sister who is vegan, and the espresso was also excellent.

You won't find a coffee shop or cafe with better service and more delicious food. Ella's brings the small-town, everyone is welcome feel with the quality of food you'd find in a large city. They use local sources for as much of their menu as possible, so everything tastes fresh. Ella has the midas touch when it comes to food, and no matter what you try, you will savor every bite. It's the perfect place to meet up with friends and hang out for awhile, or bring your computer and use their wi-fi to do a little work while enjoying your favorite tea or latte. Ella's recently hosted a party for me, and they went above and beyond all my expectations. The food, the atmosphere, the service - it was the perfect evening for our celebration and everyone kept raving about the pastries and great atmosphere. Try them once and you'll become a regular. Some of my favorites - the Chai Charger, the tomato soup, the scones...ok, the whole menu!

I just had Ella's cater my son's first Birthday Brunch and it was outstanding! I live in Chicago and I'm not easy to please, LOL, and this brunch blew me away. She did a variety of quiches for us and each one was better than the next. She worked patiently with me to plan the menu and offer me different ideas and suggestions, the service was excellent. In addition to the quiches we also had a few different breakfast breads, cinnamon rolls and scones, again all were just amazing using the best seasonal ingredients. I have been dreaming about the pumpkin spice crumble bread ever since and can't wait to go to Ella's next time I am in town. She also made my son's birthday cake which was so totally adorable and was so good there was not a crumb left. The service was equal to the quality of the food. I can't say enough about this place other than I can't wait to eat there next time I'm in town and would highly recommend their catering as well.

I like this place their coffee is good and their baked goods are wonderful however they do need consistent hours. You never know when they are open when you can order food when you can't order food or anything. If she can maybe get some more help to be in the kitchen when she is to tired to cook that would help a lot. Please fix your hours so everyone can enjoy your yummy food.

Up-date: I'm eating my way through Ella's menu this summer so I am there more often to my utter delight. Here, in order of favorite first, are my sammies thus far. 1. Ruben, 2. Big Bill, 3. Sparky All the sammies are delish; I just can't think of the names. Last week she offered a cheesecake topped with Michigan wild cherries cooked in a balsamic reduction. Yum! Foodie's paradise in #PureMichigan

I guess coming here so close to closing time wasn't such a good idea. I picked up some cinnamon rolls for half off which looked amazing - big, lots of sugary topping - and a latte to go. The gal behind the counter said the rolls had been baked that morning, so I thought they should still be pretty good the next morning for breakfast. Unfortunately my latte was lukewarm at best and mostly milk - had to heat it up in the microwave when I got to my friend's house. The next morning I excitedly warmed up the cinnamon rolls and served them to my friends who were hosting me overnight at their house - was sad to find they weren't so good. Seemed like they lacked salt in the dough and there was hardly any cinnamon on the inside even though the top made it seem they'd been teeming with yummy goodness on the inside. I really wanted to like Ella's and am hoping I was just here at an off time... might give it a try again when I'm in town.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
