What is the big feature of this restaurant? The portion size! The burger patties are as big as manhole covers. There is no way you can eat everything you order in one sitting. Food is decent and there is a lot of it. Bring your appetite - preferably fast before you go.

Very average, I prefer Westland Famous Dave's every time.

The last time I was here I believe it was called Boneyard II. I have been to the Boneyard on Telegraph in Dearborn Heights as well and the food was just about the same as I recall. Today's visit was a pleasant experience. The waitress was very polite and attentive. The Rib Dinner for 2 was excellent. One of the best slabs of ribs we ever had at the Boneyard. The cottage fries came out crisp and hot and the large piece of Garlic Bread was perfect. The little salad was a bit of a disappointment, but the dinner came out so soon that we didn't really have to concern ourselves with it. Great job Boneyard III. I'll be back... 4 stars.

Doesn't look like much but it was very good. Steak was juicy and perfect, veggies were delicious... As was the coleslaw and garlic bread. Will be back :)

Waitstaff was friendly. I had the BBQ chicken sandwich, which was mediocre. Thin piece of "gfs" chicken with watered down BBQ sauce squirted on it. Was not a fan and probably won't go back there. The place was busy, so they must be doing something right and I was there at the wrong place and wrong time .

I'll never go again and I've tried 3 times and still do not like the service nor the food. It's not a family restaurant; just a better fast food place.

Love the broasted chicken, garlic bread worked here over 20 years ago n still love to est here lol

Forced to give one star. Wait staff made my 6 year old cry. No one that was working looked as though they were happy. Didn't get past drinks, we left.

The Boneyard is never going to win awards for the interior decor or curb appeal of the building, but that is alright because the chicken and BBQ have each won awards. The quality of their broasted chicken is out of this world. Most of the rest of the menu is as expected: breaded shrimp, giant burgers made of ground beef and pork, deep-fried appetizers, build your own combo plates, seafood and steaks. It is comfort food at its finest. The average dinner comes with home fries (thin slices of fried potato) or baked potato, a salad or coleslaw and a huge slab of grilled garlic bread. You can buy the BBQ sauce to take home. Personally, I find their sauce a bit sweet for my tastes, but the other side of the table loves it on everything. I have tried a sampling from each of their menu headings and have yet to find something I didn't enjoy. They have a lunch menu featuring the same items as the dinner menu, but smaller sizes. The Boneyard has a full bar and you can sit and watch one of the handful of televisions scattered around. The decor is pure 1970's--heavy, dark wood on the walls and to the ceiling around the bar, dimly lit booths, dark carpeting. The service is consistently good. The waitstaff is personable without being cloying. You will get your drink refills without having to stop eating, and the food comes out quickly. You will not get frustrated trying to find something you want to eat off of the menu--the choices are basic and familiar. Most items have a description. The kids menu is basic, but as this is a family restaurant, they want to make sure everyone leaves full and happy. Overall, eating at The Boneyard is an experience in comfort and value. There is nothing shocking or confusing here, just good food at a good price.

Absolutely disgusting and a terrible experience

I don't get the appeal. I like fall of the bone ribs, and the ribs here need to be ripped off by your teeth. Nothing tender about them. The fries were good. Maybe I should try something else there, but I am not even entirely entertaining the idea of going back.

Love the Broasted Chicken, Great fast take out.

I haven't been home much since high school. College was spent an hour away, and activities -- academic or otherwise -- seemed to keep me away. After college, I moved to California, which is an entirely different place from my hometown. I am constantly reminded how seldom I feel a sense of belonging, that sense of home. Whenever I manage a visit back to Michigan, my family inevitably has a meal at The Boneyard. We used to order tray after aluminum tray of ribs for birthday parties and graduations. Sunday lunches after church usually meant a caravan of three or more families heading towards Boneyard, like a group of Wasteland settlers trekking across a ruined landscape in search of some outpost of civilization. The coleslaw borders bitterness. The signature barbeque sauce is runny and unsophisticated. The cottage fries get soggy and are undesirable after a day left untouched in styrofoam to-go containers. Garlic bread as big as your head. Moist towelettes never seem to get the hands clean, the remnants of a meal from underneath fingernails. Do not mistake these observations as shortcomings. Even now, I long to eat a hearty meal at Boneyard, surrounded by those I love the most. My family ain't half bad, either.

Probably the most quantity-driven restaurant I've ever visited, The Boneyard III is probably best suited for the deal-driven consumer. After all, a 1 lb. burger for $7 is quite the bang for your buck, but keep in mind that the burger will be bone dry, the bread will be way too thick, and the "toppings" will include sugar-sweet barbecue sauce that tastes exactly like it came from McDonalds. Giant portions are a novelty that probably would drive a lot of people to eat here. I get it. I just didn't like the food, plain and simple. The staff was nice, the service was prompt, my issues were simply related to quality. Plymouth Road is ripe with great restaurants, and I would not include this as one of them. I admit, I'm probably more of a barbecue snob than your average customer, so maybe I was underwhelmed due to my high expectations. After all, you're only a 15 minute drive from Slow's if you're in this neighborhood, and that's possibly the best barbecue in all of Michigan. Shoot, you're probably only five minutes from the closest Famous Daves, and for a chain restaurant they're pretty darn tasty. I've heard good things about the Boneyard chain, but my experience would not convince me to go back.

there are pros and cons to this place. i got the short end special which was 7 rib bones and it was a good price. when it showed up it was huge! the meat was a little tough for my taste but they tasted good. i wasnt a fan of their cottage fries and the garlic bread wasnt the best. the interior wasnt that nice. there were a few tables still to be bussed when we got there and they wernt busy at all so i didnt understand what was taking them so long to bus tables. me and my mom were the only people in there. they had daytime tv on the tvs which i didnt think was cool. and they were playing a regular radio station and when i eat i dont what to hear radio commercials. they do have 1.00 beers i forget which ones i think they are 1.00 mon- thurs but i could be wrong. the exterior of this place wasnt that attractive either. so in my opinion i would say at least try this place and see if its a place for you. i probably wont ever go again but it was worth the try.

The best ribs I have had. The service was great and it was a good value. The bread was just what a rib dinner needed along with home fries.

I'm not a fan of pork, but the ribs were really good. Tender, meaty with minimal fat. ( no porky flavor ).. The bbq sauce the waitress brought out was NASTY ! Like dipping a strawberry into apple cider vinegar. Shrimp was good . Lightly breaded.. Not over done.. Waitress attendance was perfect.. Came by table twice and left me alone while I was stuffing my face .. Salad was dull. 2 tables next to me dirty. Hasn't been cleaned since the last customer .. Dirty the whole time I've been here... ( how's the kitchen ) ...

I have regrettably come here once every year or so because my dad loves the amount of food for the money (when using a 20% off coupon). Each time I come, I think the food can't possibly be as mediocre as I remembered. Finally, there is no escaping it: the food is just plain bad. No one applauds the decor here, but great barbecue seems right at home in a dive. Anyone seen House of Cards? Unfortunately, there is no edible barbecue here. I'm not a barbecue snob - I've been to a bunch of places around Detroit and around Kansas City and never found one particular place that I thought was head and shoulders above the rest. But I can emphatically say that the ribs at the Boneyard are disgusting, sinewy remnants of an ill-tempered old hog. The barbecue sauce isn't my favorite, but that's just personal preference, and at least it's edible. My last visit, the meat was so subpar., I ended up filling up on just potatoes dipped in the barbecue sauce. Speaking of potatoes, one thing I will say to you unfortunate souls eating here: ask for the potatoes well done, and they come out crispy and quite tasty. During my most recent trip (in January), turning the bathroom faucet from cold to hot caused the water to turn off. Not that the hot water heater couldn't keep up, or that the hot water supply line was not insulated well enough. No, there simply wasn't any water supplied to the hot side of the faucet. The manager wasn't surprised, and explained that "the pipes freeze" in the winter. Why only the hot pipe freezes is a mystery. But if it's true, they will have a rude surprise when the pipes thaw. Perhaps the burst pipes will cleanse this place as Hercules did the Augean stables.

The Boneyard had the biggest burger i have ever had and i loved it! the fri chips are great, I wish i could visit my old town in Plymouth MI I only lived here for a year but the place was awesome.

Best chicken. Best fries. Best garlic bread. Best BBQ sauce. Best price. Family favorite.

Actually, this should be probably closer to 3.5-3.75 stars. It's kind of run down now, and nothing fancy even when it was new. The ribs are good, I've eaten them many times and will again. They are not, however, actual BBQ ribs. There's no smoke flavor. They cook 'em on an electric rotisserie, I think. The sauce is good, pretty sure there's just the one. The fries and the garlic toast are good. Nothing to rave about, but good. They have some beer specials, but nothing I'd drink. Prices are reasonable, especially for the quantities you get. If you go there expecting a Slows, Boneheads, or some of the other top-notch places you'll be disappointed, but I eat at those places and there's room here for me. Give 'em a shot. They have 2 other locations, I've had the Farmington Hills ribs and they're just as good. Never tried Dearborn Hts.

If this place were in a modern building in a trendy area it would kill it. The staff is always very friendly and the food is great! I'm shocked that they're never super busy (I assume it's because everyone is dieting these days) I always do carry out, the ribs are as good as it gets for the price and their bbq sauce is amazing too. My favorite place for ribs in MI without breaking the bank!

Food didn't taste fresh. Started with the salad having bottled ranch dressing. The fish tasted old and the breading was soggy. The corn on the cob tasted like it had been reheated several times and the only flavor was the salt and butter I had to add on myself. My daughters didn't like the steak or ribs, and this is the first time they didn't care for these items in a restaurant. Also had 2 small gnat flies that kept trying too land on the food while we were trying to eat. I sent back the fish and got chicken instead. It was ok. Nothing special. No compensation offered for having to return the food. Overall not a place I'd recommend to anyone.

Good ribs...some of the time! If you want real awesome ribs go to their original location on telegraph road. The food here is extremely inconsistent. Some days the ribs and chicken are good and other days they're dry and tough. The coleslaw is sometimes delicious and other times soupy, sloppy and old looking. Good luck I hope your visit is one of the good ones!!!

I stopped here for lunch today with my boyfriend. He has been raving about how delicious this place is for quite some time, and since we were in the Livonia area, I suggested we go. The hostess didn't look like she wanted to be there, but she wasn't necessarily rude, so it didn't bother me too much. Our waitress was nice, and that made up for it. I got a burger and he got a patty melt. Both came with the potato chip fries (which were hot and delicious!) plus our choice of coleslaw or salad. Our total bill was only $17, and that included our two sodas. If you're looking for a place that gives you large quantities of food for a great price, this is it. However, while the burger was good, I didn't find it to be anything special. The BBQ sauce was really, really good and my boyfriend's patty melt looked delicious as well. I will be back, but next time I would like to venture into a different entrée. Our neighboring table ordered the chicken and that will probably be what I try next time--it looked to die for and smelled amazing!
