After trying the Steve and Rocky's in Novi, I thought I would give this place a shot since its close to home. The wife and I loved Steve and Rocky's. I know the two restaurants are not in the same category in terms of who they choose to cater to, but I figured this location would be more fast casual and have good quality food. I had the meatloaf. It was disgusting. They brand it as famous. I can believe it. Famous for being awful. The meatloaf was just piled into a box and slammed shut. I ordered the family meal with sweet potato fries, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. The taste is horrible. How could a chef think that this tastes good? We also ordered the mushroom soup since we liked it so much at Steve and Rocky's, but it tasted nothing like what we had at the Steve and Rocky's. It was bland like it was old and it was more like a mushroom chowder. The best part of the meal was the house salad. Seriously, I could eat that everyday. But for $30, I feel like I just got robbed.

Stopped in here for a quick dinner a bit ago and I have to admit it's slipped a bit. The bread is still the bomb but my chicken was disappointing. I don't know if I got a bum bird or what but I found it pretty skimpy. I only ordered the 1/4 meal since in the past that had been enough but there was very little meat on this one. Mac and cheese, while still good, was a little on the cold side. I left hungry and dissatisfied. Kind of disappointing since I was looking forward to the meal I had experienced in the past. It's not enough to make me stop coming here. I'll give it another shot. Hopefully it was just an off day and not indicative in a total decline in quality at this place.

Comfort food like rotisserie chicken and an amazing meat loaf are staples of this restaurant, a take-out place located at a strip mall on 6 Mile and Newburgh. I had stopped in to pick up some of their sides but the daily special caught my eye: twelve chicken wings in a sweet and sour pineapple sauce. The wings, while not as large as those at Buffalo Wild Wings, were reasonably sized, lightly battered, fried and then tossed in a delicious sauce that featured diced pineapples. This meal came with Rocky's famous rolls and a side. While several of the prepared salads looked good, I went with the refreshing tomato/cucumber salad. I was very impressed by the quality of the food and flavors offered; it is definitely not your average quick casual restaurant. It should be noted that it took a while for the food to come so you may want to plan for that.

I don't really explore many BBQ type places but this place is near school and I wanted to change it up. I got a half BBQ chix. dinner with 2 sides. I thought the chicken was pretty good and tender. I was kind of disappointed they do not make their own sauce. I forgot which kind they use. The two sides I ordered were the roasted potatoes and mixed veggies...Veggies were pretty generic and the potatoes we're pretty good. I do think they use wayyyyy too much butter on the sides though! My veggies were swimming in the butter. I will most likely come back here though because overall I did enjoy my meal and I thought the interior of the place was cute.

This place has not disappointed me yet. The sides for me is always the mushroom soup some of the best in the area, a must try. The ribs were good, I still have not tried the brisket loaded potato. This is my go to place when in Livonia. Love the food. The staff is great . I mention place to everyone

My wife and I had late lunch here yesterday. She had a chicken wrap that was huge and very tasty. I had a chicken and biscuit special. It was okay and the chicken was very tender. I will order a sandwich or one of the single meals next time. prices are reasonable. Inside does not seat too many but is clean and updated. Nice place to stop for a casual meal.

Unlike another yelp review i did - this is REALLY GOOD chicken. the sides are great and the biscuits are the same as a famous seafood restaurant in area (chuck ....).

I ordered a rotisserie chicken BLT which to my surprise came with a side. For the side I chose mac-n-chees, and topped it all off with a cup of chicken noodle soup. My coworker ordered a 1/4 rotisserie leg & thigh which came with 2 sides for which he chose mixed fruit & coleslaw. He also ordered the chicken noodle soup. The food arrived after a short (and reasonable) wait, accompanied with a basket of the oh-so-famous bread I've read about. I was geeked to say the least (I'm easily amused). The bread itself was easily as good as everyone here has portrayed, so I can't really add too much. The chicken noodle soup was hot, and you could tell it was made with fresh stock. I was impressed! It contained all the right ingredients, including extra wide egg noodles. The mac-n-cheese was creamy, cheesy, and very good (especially for restaurant grade!). The sandwich was very good, though the size of the huge chunks of rotisserie chicken could have been smaller for ease of eating. Plus it allowed a rather sizeable chicken bone to sneak through and into a full bite (yuck). Other than that, the components of the sandwich were great. The bun especially was very good, with the right combination of flake & softness. All in all, this was a solid, good, home-style meal, and I'm sure I'll be back to try out more menu items in the future.

First time visit, place is a wee bit dirty, staff confused. Mac and cheese, needs updating, cole slaw too tart, very small portions for sides. Bread good brings back memories of Chuck Muir's. Will give it a second chance.

Our go to carry out for swim meets, picnics, or busy days after work when no one wants to cook. Everything is freshly prepared and tastes great. Smashed potatoes and the house salad are two of our favorite sides. The chicken and pulled pork are excellent.Very reasonably priced way to feed the family quick food without the guilt!

Wow, has this place gotten bad. The last time we had carryout I ordered a pot pie. The woman on the phone told me it would take 30 minutes because they make it fresh. I got there 25 minutes later and waited another 10. When I went and asked the bored high school kid behind the counter when it would be ready, I was rudely informed "It's going to be 15 minutes because you got here 15 minutes after you called." Oh, really!? 20 more minutes and my order is finally ready (That's 55 minutes for those of you keeping track). To top it all off, the pot pie was bland as could be. The crust tasted like cardboard and the gravy had zero flavor. My wife's chicken was completely dried out, and her sides were cold and gross. What happened to this place!? It used to be quality carry-out at a decent price. Now it's overpriced garbage and rude service. Awful.

Very dissapointed in this place. I was in the mood for Meatloaf and decided to try Rocky's. When I walked in went to the counter and the cashier didn't say high or hello for a good 30seconds, instead she was working on the computer doing something. When she finally decided to take my order she didn't seem to enthusiastic. I ordered the meatloaf dinner which on the menu says "crispy onions, "smashed" potatoes and smoked Gouda", and I also ordered a side of mac and cheese, plus a house salad. When I got home I opened the box it was just 2 sides of mac and cheese, there were no crispy onions, smashed potatoes or smoked Gouda. Anyways the meatloaf didnt look like it was homemade, it was pre-cooked like they had purchased it from Gordon's, the texture was more like dog food, the gravy was very salty, I had to scrape it off the meatloaf dogfood i was served. The Mac and Cheese was terrible, no flavor and it was flattened, and they gave me mac and cheese that was at the bottom of the pan, because some of it was crispy. I will never go to this place again, because of the service and how terrible the meatloaf was and they could have used more counter help, because it took 25 minutes to get my order after I was told 10 minutes. The place is very disorganized. When the cooks finish making the dogfood, you have to go all the way to the front of the store by the register to put the sides with the meal. Wouldn't it make sense to have the sides by the kitchen?

I 'have' enjoyed the food there, but it is hit or miss. The staff is little to help in the decision making process. The menu's are crowded and spread out on chalk boards all over the kitchen area, 1 is even hidden from view unless you walk past the cashier and down the counter towards the back. The chicken has a unique flavor, is tender and falls off the bone. The bread is fair and sides are what I would expect. It's not on my top nor on the bottom. It's one of those places I go where I want to eat and I say "It's been several months since I been there..."

We tried Rocky's right when they first opened and were decidedly unimpressed. So much so that we never even considered going back... til I saw Annette's mention of the bread (darn you Annette!). Bread is a serious weakness of mine, so I had to try it out, sans Ken. The cashier was friendly but no help when I tried to narrow my decision between cracker breaded chicken tenders ('oooh those are good'), the chicken pot pie ('ooh, that's good too but I think we might be out') and the breaded shrimp ('those are good too!'). I finally chose the tenders, but then I needed to pick sides. And they all sounded good too! Tenders were awesome. Thick strips of real chicken, served with ranch. My two sides were roasted potatoes and cucumber salad, plus an extra piece of bread. The cashier passed me a $2 coupon (love her), and I ate in. Everything was delicious. I'm ready to take Ken back now. Now.

Seemed like the place was going downhill for awhile but they must have gotten new staff or something recently because it's awesome! We've ordered a few times in the past month or so and have been really happy with the food and value. The chicken was moist, tender, and flavorful. The rolls and mushroom soup are to die for. Tried them for catering a small group last week and got rave reviews on everything. If you haven't been there lately, you're missing out!

Fresh tasty food at a reasonable price you can take home and not have to cook? And my picky in a bad way husband finds it delicious and I do too? Color me happy. Think of it as a much more upscale, homemade and way less greasy and less unhealthy Boston Market. I have long had a fondness for Rocky's food at his other two restaurants, this is like a homestyle, convenient yet still tasty version of that concept. Rotisserie chicken, baby back ribs, meatloaf, pastas, chicken pot pie, oh my. Yep I have sampled some of everything and find it all tasty although I am not a baby back fan as a general rule myself (my husband likes em though). You can get the happy poppy seed loaf bread here too. They have the mushroom soup that I adore and some very good salads and sandwiches too. Side choices include coleslaw (I add crumbled blue cheese to it at home and yummy), pasta salad, roasted potatoes, smashed potatoes, tomato cucumber salad, fruit salad, fresh vegetables, baked beans and cheesy mac. For entrees, I like the meatloaf best followed closely by rotiserrie chicken and chicken pot pie. The pecan encrusted and grilled chicken salads rock as does the off the spit chicken BLT and the hot meatloaf sandwich. They have rotating daily specials such as bratwurst, Indian spiced pork loin (yummy), garlic chicken linguine, fried chicken and cornflake encrusted whitefish. I like that you can swing by here and get a half sandwich and soup or house salad for 5 bucks. We have not had a bad order here yet but I have never eaten in either so I can only tell tales of to go...

Ok - I have always loved Rocky's of Northvile and Steve & Rocky's in Novi. Those are awesome eating adventure destinations. I've driven by Rocky's Rotisserie at least a dozen times and always meant to stop there as every one I ever met claim they are to die for. My wife and I stopped by for dinner carryout. We both ordered some half chicken thing with mashed potatoes and some sort of roll. We got home to eat and looked over the orders. Only thing that was missing was gravy for the smashed potatoes. Even if the mashed potatoes had gravy - I doubt it would of made them any more edible. the Potatoes were COLD to the touch! it had only been 20min drive home, if the Potatoes were freshly cooked they would still be at least lukewarm. The half chicken looked to be a half of a wing attached to a small breast and then a thigh. there was no leg. I assumed - half chicken = 1 full wing, 1 breast, 1 thigh, 1 leg. I have no clue why there was no leg and only half a wing. The thigh meat was very fatty. Even worse it was still PINK at the bone - THE CHICKEN should not be PINK it should be COOKED DONE! I had to throw away the thigh piece. the breast & half wing piece were all together - it too had a load of greasy gooey fat and the skin was quite disgusting. The white breast meat was at the very least somewhat palatable. Also the white meat had very little if any flavor at all. the skin smelled like it was seasoned. But how many people will just eat a wad of fatty chicken skin?? sadly the best part of our meals was the dinner roll - it had some sort of seasoning baked in and it was delicious. I used to work at a Kroger Deli over 5yrs ago. When I worked there I learned HOW to cook Rotisserie Chickens - properly, with flavor through out the meat, and the skin crispy. Apparently from what I've been told their Chicken is supposed to be very good. I cannot fathom how anyone with a discernible palate can call Rocky's Rotisserie Chicken good food. I've been told they have some good salads. So If I ever do return, I might have to just get one of the salads instead.

Rocky's Rotisserie is a contemporary comfort food joint created by Chuck "Rocky" Rachwitz and a team of some of the area's well-known chefs. It's geared towards take-out, but they have seating if you want to dine in. You're greeted by friendly staff and a blackboard full of options ranging from BBQ to seafood. I can't say too much about the various other items, but I always come back getting these same items because they're so darn good: PULLED PORK SLIDERS - sweet, tangy pulled pork, coleslaw, some cheese sandwiched between their crusty, fresh house bread. Not only do they look really good, but I was blown away at how good these tasted. I think that the coleslaw should be put in a small container to avoid soggy messes for the ride home. HOT MEATLOAF SANDWICH - layers of goodness from bottom up: bread slice, mashed potatoes, big slab of their delicious meatloaf, all drenched in mushroom sauce. Sound good? They even top it with crispy onions. SIDES - 1) mac & cheese - creamy and smooth, go great with meatloaf or chicken; 2) vegetables - usually a seasonal, fresh medley; 3) mashed potatoes - it's ok to me by itself, a little on the bland side; 4) cole slaw - fresh and tangy. Do yourself a favor and head to Rocky's for quick homestyle offerings at reasonable prices.

Rocky's has been a favorite of the Madonna University Nursing School staff for quite some time now. As i am fairly new my position, I was introduced to Rocky's when I was asked to look into catering for an event for our students and faculty. Steve, the GM, came out and spoke with me about our event and gave us some great options. After our friendly conversation, I chose to try the meatloaf sandwich which was raved about in a magazine article that was posted on the restaurants wall. It did not disappoint. The sandwich was served open faced with mashed potatoes and onion rings along with the spaghetti salad side. I would highly recommend Rocky's to anyone living in the Livonia and neighboring areas.

I came for the rotisserie chicken, and I really wanted to like Rocky's. It's clean, seems to offer a nice varied menu. Sadly I was very disappointed. The first thing that put me off was the taste of sugar... sugar on roast chicken? Garlic, herbs, spices... not a trace that I could detect, all I could taste was bland chicken with sugar. And the skin was not crispy; that's arguably the single best thing about a good roast chicken, after a well spiced, savory rub, but Rocky's is stiff, sticky, and soggy.

This is not a restaurant. I have found a couple of these types of establishments in my travels. What this is, is a caterer that opened up a store-front and threw in 4 tables and a counter (for some reason, there is always a counter). They do catering. They do take-out (which is just catering where YOU do the driving.) And you can "eat-in". There is no waitstaff. Everybody here is preparing food. Go up to the counter, order, and sit down somewhere, they will find you. It is what makes these places unique. You talk to the chef(s). I pulled a stunt which I occasionally do at restaurants. When they asked what I wanted, I told them to pick for me and not tell me. Yep, I ordered a "Mystery Meal". Sometimes the waitstaff where I try this like it, sometimes they freak out and can't handle it. At Rocky's the young lady I told it to smiled and called out to two others. They huddled, whispering between them as they plotted my meal. Not only did they not tell me, as I sat at the counter waiting for my Mystery Meal they purposely obscurred my view of the food prep area so that I couldn't peek. And the brought out a masterpiece. A hot meatloaf sandwich with mashed potatoes on top with fried onion garnish and side of corn/green beans combo. It was amazing. PLEASE try this on your first trip here. Trust me...after all, if it is on the Internet it must be true.

My new favorite BBQ joint. Rocky's is tucked away inside the shopping center on the South-East corner of 6 Mile and Newburgh. I had the 1/3 slab of ribs with 1/4 chicken and a side of vegetables and mashed potatoes and gravy. Everything was delicious, even the veggies. The ribs are on par with Eastside Marios' with BBQ sauce that has a little zing. The gravy had a 'different', sweeter, taste, but good nonetheless. I also sampled my daughter's Mac & Cheese which was also very delicious. The complimentary bread was hot and fresh out of the oven. The friendly and professional staff was the topping on the cake. A little pricey but WELL worth it. Highly recommended.
