I can't drive by this place without stopping for a slice of their delicious, hot deep-dish pizza. I buy the quarts of tomato sauce, and use it to make spaghetti or lasagne. My guests are always impressed, and I never tell them my "secret" recipie!

The pizza rolls here are great!!! Must get them with cheese!!!! But, I would go to Cantoro if you are looking to get lasagna or breads. Both are much better over there.

Cute little Italian Bakery and market located in a strip mall in Livonia. We purchased 1.5 pounds of an assortment of Italian cookies to take to a home for dinner and I was surprised at how quickly they were gone! All of the cookies were really good and incredibly addicting. We also split a cannoli which was pretty good. They also sell pizza, pasta salads, and other Italian grocery items and wine. A great place to pick up dessert when heading over to a party or someone's home for dinner.

I started stopping in at this Italian bakery when my kids started going to the orthodontist in the same strip mall. I had enjoyed going to one on Plymouth Road, but they closed, and I had not really found one near my house that I liked. I like this one. I bought a pan of their lasagna when they had a special, and it was better than my own. I have bought the pepperoni rolls as well and their take and bake pizzas. The desserts are delicious. And they stock a nice assortment, if small, of Italian groceries. Everything I have tried there has been excellent.

I used to frequent this place back when I worked in the area, but hadn't been there in a few years. Why? WHY?! Their pepperoni pizza is SO delicious when it's right out of the oven! The slices are nice and large, so one piece is more than enough for lunch. I also gave their lasagna a try. I popped it in the fridge when I got home and ate it for lunch the next day. AMAZING! SO cheesy! This place has a deli stocked full of Italian meats & cheeses, hot pasta dishes, pizza, pizza rolls, breads and MORE! If you're an Italian cookie junkie, you're in luck! They have those too!!! All in all, I'm mad that I spent so much time away from this place! I'll be back soon for sure!

Maybe it's better to have take out. I sat down to eat and all of the tables were messy. They did not have forks out. Newspapers and crumbs everywhere. It seemed like it was pretty disorganized. Then, my bumpy cake had a hair in it. But, I think I will give it another try. My first impression was not good.

The LIB has been around since I was a kid. I still remember going in for a slice of pizza and an Italian soda with my old man. Today it's still clean and the food is still top notch. They've got a few isles to pick up some Italian dry goods but what I love is the coolers stocked with fresh pizza dough, in house made pepperoni, marinara, whole ready to bake pizzas and fresh cheeses and pastas. They also have a nice deli counter adjacent to their baked goods counter where they have their pizza, cookies, lasagna, etc. I had a slice of their Margherita pizza today. It was fantastic! The crust was firm but tender and covered in a very very fresh tasting pizza sauce with slices of Roma tomatoes and chiffonade of basil which really makes the flavor amazing. They generally have several flavors of pan style pizza from pepperoni, to sausage, to taco which I was disappointed they didn't have when I stopped in. Additionally, they tend to carry some day old baked goods near the counter if you're looking to save a little change. Their cafe is worth trying too although I haven't tried their coffee or sodas in quite awhile.

We sill stop in for lunch once in a while, when we are out and not in the mood for fast food or for a carry out dinner. They have a great selection of food and nothing has disappointed us so far. The pizza isn't your normal pizza shop style. It's more like the foil pan style pizza. It is always fresh and tastes awesome. Their pizza rolls and lasagna are really good and so are their sausage and peppers. Come to think of it....I don't think we have ever had anything we haven't enjoyed here!

I LOVE this place!!! Each time we try something from there, I am so pleased! Today, we wanted a lil nibble for lunch, so we stopped, picked up a slice of spinach pizza and a small serving of lasagna. YUM YUM YUM! The staff is so friendly. It's like walking into your family kitchen : ) I'm always greeted with a smile, hello... The pizza was perfect. I love that they use a garlic/oil sauce with the spinach pizza rather than red sauce. It was soooo good and so flavorful, aside from the tomato/basil pizza, this may be my fave. The lasagna was FABU! I'm a lasagna snob. I think I make it better than any place I've eaten it, but today LIB made me pause for thought...LOL The secret to a perfect lasagna is the melding of the cheese, sausage and sauce. This had the right amount of cheese and meat. I would have liked there to be a lil more flavor in the sausage, but it was good. The flavor of the sauce was PERFECT. Some places make their sauce taste like tomato paste and there's no fresh tomato flavor. This actually tasted like fresh crushed tomtatoes. It wasn't pasty at all. Personally, I would like more sauce. I think I will buy one of their pre-made lasagna and a container of their sauce. Bake the lasagna and then serve sauce on side for extra sauce. The lasagna came with a fresh roll. YUM! I can't believe that I've been missing all of the goodness for all of these years. I think this is our go to place : ) If you've not tried their breakfast pizza...DO IT! ; )

First time visit, i tried pizza strombonie and crab cakes. Pizza roll was aweful threw away half of it. Hard bread, just bad flavor. Waste of time and money today.

Their marinara sauce is absolutely fantastic- thick and rich with lots of parmesan, and the sell it in the fridge in large deli containers! They also have Rinaldi sausages, which are, in my humble opinion, are the best available in the Detroit area! Their bakery selection is extensive, as are their pasta and jarred sauce selections. There is also a cafe attached that I *have* to make it back to sometime.

Joined a single parent Meetup group a friend is part of for a Livonia Italian Bakery's Baking Experience field trip. It was a fun time for the 13 kids that were in attendance (and the parents, too)! The event was scheduled for 2 hours and, from start to finish, the employees did a really good job keeping things moving, under control, and super organized. I don't give much credit to older teens / young adults in their 20's these days, but someone out there is doing a spot on job raising and hiring right. So there is hope for the world, people! Well, at least in Livonia. :-/ The kiddos donned their plastic aprons and colored their chef's hats first in the cafe area. Next, they washed their hands and we all headed to the back kitchen to learn about pizza making ingredients, handling dough, and how to make their personal pie pan pizzas (dough, sauce, cheese provided with pepperoni, ham, and olive as topping options). I thought it was interesting that they used milk powder in the LIB dough. I may try that at home with my breadmaker pizza dough concoction in the future. After the pies were assembled, there was a show and tell talk about the HUGE rolling rack pizza oven. The prepped pies were collected for baking and off everyone went back to the cafe to decorate the vanilla/vanilla mini cakes. The finished cakes were collected (packed up in a nice box to take home & eat later) and out came the pizza pies. These were actually pretty tasty as a sample piece revealed. If your kids don't like pink lemonade or water, you can purchase something from the fridge located on the deli side of the place. Any pizza leftovers are taken and packed with your kid's cake and you pay up at the end on the deli/grocery side. It was a good time for $15 a head. You need a minimum of 10 people to book a field trip or birthday Experience with a $50 deposit (at the time of this review). You can also do a separate cake OR pizza Experience for $8 a kid for 1 hour. Recommended ages are 4-11 for these events. Extras like pizzas, salads, etc. can be ordered ahead of time for the adults if desired. I was able to order a vanilla latte from the cafe while the event was going on. This is a pretty cool idea if you're looking to do something a little different with your kids / family / friends. There is a playground down the road (make a left onto 7 Mile from the parking lot then look out for Bicentennial Park on the right). The group hit that to let the kids work off some steam before everyone headed home. I got to Livonia Italian Bakery with my kid at 3pm and left the park at 5.30pm and it was a TOTALLY full day. Reading the other reviews after our trip to LIB, I found it helpful to learn that they sell their dough and sauce separately and that one can buy a pan of lasagna to take home for dinner. Would've picked something along those lines up while there had I known. The baked goods in the glass case looked quite enticing as well. We dug into the cake at home and it was fresh and moist with a good whipped frosting. I will most definitely be back to try more of the deliciousness that lurks within the Livonia Italian Bakery. You should, too!

I never knew how much I would miss Livonia Italian Bakery until I left Michigan, but it's always one of my first stops whenever I'm home. Oh, the pizza. And the cookies (the little rolled-up ones with jam? and the bright red and green leaves that are buttery and not too sweet?). And the cannolis (which I grew up on). My mother used to come here once a week to buy breadsticks for my dad -- we could only get them here, nowhere else. They have an exhaustive selection of pasta and sauces and San Marzano tomatoes; they have all the ricotta and mascarpone you could need; they have pasta makers and espresso makers and all sorts of other random gadgets. And maybe you need an apron that says "Not only am I perfect, I'm Italian"? I'm betting you do. I did. Anyway, all that I'm saying is that if you live near Livonia Italian Bakery, consider yourself very, very lucky, because someday you might live far away. Believe me, you'll miss it.
