We just moved in the area and ate here a few times during construction. This place is not fancy, but offers good home cooking. A decent meal for the price. We are please with the food and recommend this restaurant.

Went there sunday morning me and the wife and 19 yr old son. Good crowd we' not in a hurry . We get 3 breakfast specials toast comes 10 minutes early. Later here comes the specials. Wifes eggs still snotty send them back they fix. I think my hashbrowns have a grlddle taste not to pleasant but im to cheap not to eat it. The boy just plain dont like the hash browns. I wanted to go to Prime Grill down the street. Guess what we wont be coming back anytime soon.

Your experience of this place will vary greatly depending on which meal you eat here. Breakfast and lunch are both excellent and while the waitresses on these shifts offer little in the way of eye-candy, the service is spot on. Dinner is a different story, the food is good, much like usual, but the service is non-existent. Overall, a good cheap breakfast, I eat here 2-3 times a week.

This use to be our breakfast place after church, but a few years ago there seemed to be a major change in who was who at Korca's. I believe the family that owns this location, also owns Sams (in livonia @ 5/Farmington). When they opened the new place all the familiar waitresses and cooks went to Sams (this is my theory...). Why did we stop going? The service changed and so did the food. The service went from a 4-4.5 to a 1 star experience. The food went from a 3.5 to a 2.5. For the past couple months, my friend and I have been meeting at Korcas (because it's close to her house) for breakfast. We are usually there around 8/8:30. A few years ago, this would have been a busy time (geriatric breakfast time after 6 a.m. mass), but now not so busy. We unfortunately have made the mistake of sitting in Ms. Unhappy Waitress, I'm Not Going to Smile, if it Kills Me, station. She's just plain ol' cranky. Now, keep in mind, this is a very Easter Block (Russian, Romania...) group, so not usually the yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum type of personalities..but still you can smile and it won't crack your angular strong jaw! If you sit in her section, you better know what you want within 2 minutes of sitting down or she will not return for a good 10-15 minutes...food is whipped together quickly and served with a frown. Then within 10 minutes of getting your food, you are served with a bill and then every 3-5 minutes..."are you ready" "are you ready" "are you ready"...Now, I understand that if there is a line, you should eat and promptly get up and leave...find somewhere else to sit and chat. BUT there's NEVER a LINE! There are about 18 booth, 6 counters stools and we are usually 1 of 4 couples/groups there! So, based on that and the fact that the food is now mediocre and doesn't stand out (when there are other places that deliver better service and better food) that this last experience was definitely the last experience. Now, lets talk about food. The vegetarian omelet has always been my favorite. The last two times that I've ordered it, BLECH. Never the same consistency. Hashbrowns taste frozen and reheated. Like I said, I think there's either new ownership, different chefs... On a positive note, I will say that it seemed clean and I love the newly decorated atmosphere and that they now accept debit cards.

Korca's is one of my favorite "coney islands" in the area. They have a great menu with all the typical items you would expect but also some great soups, dinners and other different menu items. I really enjoy breakfast here and also lunch/dinner. Their combos are great and very filling!! Their soups especially the chili and tomato mac are my favorite. Not a fancy place, exactly what you would expect from your corner coney island. I will be sad when I move further away from here because I won't be able to go anytime I want or pick up carry out soup for dinner!

I would have given this restaurant five stars if I'd written this review a year or so ago. It used to be one of my favorite places with a real family atmosphere but then Korca's remodeled (looks nice!) and fired two of their best waitresses. These two gals were the heart of the restaurant -- knowing customers by name and cracking wise with the best of them. Without these two, Korca's is just any other Coney.
