Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I always seen this place and decided to try it. I walked in and the young ladies that worked there were very happy and helpful. I am big on customer service. And they get 5 stars on their customer service that I experienced. I ordered the nachos with chicken. They don't give you a lot of chicken. And extra chicken is a $1 more. I noticed that the had large cans of corn and black beans. So I guess it isn't fresh. :-/ My nachos was good. The 'Hot Heads Sauce' was very tasty and had flavor. 5 stars on the sauce. I gave 4 stars because it wasn't fresh. But overall it was good.

Upon approach the place has a good location for continued traffic, adequate parking, and a clean easily distinguished storefront. When we entered, the interior was clean & well lit. The initial layout was a little confusing at first, but it makes sense to avoid having the doorway clogged when they're busy. We were greeted by the owner who also made our food. I had a spicy chicken bowl with brown rice, black beans, pico, corn, lettuce, cheese, & sour cream, all topped with the Hot Head sauce (spicy garlic). The quantity was just right for me, though my lunch cohorts both wanted to see more meat in the dishes. Everything seemed to be high quality and what was supposed to be hot was, while the cold add-ons were chilled nicely. Everything came together to form a fresh, crisp mexi-style bowl. I added a drink & cookies as part of their "make it a lunch" deal, and my only complaint would be that the price of the drinks is a little too high. Other than that, I thought it was all well executed and I'll be back with a follow up visit in the future.

This was my first visit to Hot Head Burritos. I learned that this is a small chain with several locations primarily in Ohio. This is the first Michigan location. The time for them to put a bowl together could be a little quicker but I was happy the workers there were not just slapping the stuff together. I ordered the regular size spicy chicken bowl. The ingredients were all fresh and tasty (good cilantro), I thought the chicken and rice might be a little warmer temperature wise. This is only me nit picking an otherwise good experience. I really liked the variety of sauces they have there. The extreme habanero sauce is very spicy, especially after you finish your meal. I would rate it up there similar in spicy to a BWW habanero sauce. Plenty of tables available for lunch here and there's also several TV's on either side of the dining area. I would recommend them for lunch and will be going back to try some more of those sauces!

Not impressed. Went in today during my lunch break. The man who was helping me seemed like he was UNtrained, didn't know what we was doing. He forgot my chips & salsa but charged me for it? I had to run back in there from my car to get it - when I came back in the manager offered me free cookies for the inconvenience... Lol no thanks... He told me the salsa was a 5 from a level of 1-10 on how spicy it was. It LITERALLY burned my mouth I tossed it after I had one taste. My burrito was extremely sub par. Barely any chicken on it. Definitely won't be returning. Go to CHIPOTLE instead.

With all the competition offset food burrito making places, I was surprised that yet another one has popped up. we've been ther three times and haven't been wowed. We've had the burritos, burrito bowls and today the tacos- hoping we would LOVE this place. You're paying a lot for a smaaaaaalll portion of meat. The fillers are beans and rice which I find are bland. The pico is flavorless which explains the 30 sauces. The pico tasted like plain diced tomatoes. Of the meats, we prefer the chicken and barbocoa. If you go with spicy of any meat its SPICY! It's the brown sauce they ladle on top of the meat. We chose soft shell tacos because the hard shell looked small and most of them were crumbling a part. Rip off charge for guacamole $1 to add and it's maybe a tablespoon. This is the same as the other burrito chains. $ 2 charge fore double meat... You are already paying $7-8 for 1-2 oz of meat They are still working out the service kinks. Qdoba is second to CHIPOLTE and this is third- beats taco bell

My husband, 3 year old daughter, and I went there for dinner last night to use a buy 2 bowls or burritos coupon for $10.99. There was plenty of parking right in front of the restaurant which was great and the place was empty. We were greeted immediately by a young lady who seemed like she was a new employee. She started my husbands bowl and finished his whole thing before coming back to start mine. I kept looking around to see if there was anyone else there to help! The toppings looked like they had been sitting out a long time, my chicken was very dry and the sour cream looked a little crusty. The food wasn't terrible but was lacking in any flavor, everything was bland. They had a number of sauces to try but nothing was appealing to me.

Terrible food and customer service. Burrito's are thrown together with ingredients at one end or other. They don't even try to make the experience/food worthwhile and act as their doing you a favor. Contacted corporate office about numerous problems and not even a reply. STAY AWAY!! Qdoba's is way better on every level.

Went here with a couple friends for lunch. Let's just say it is not Chipolte! I was very disappointed in the quality of the burrito. Even though you get to choose what to put into it, they are quite skimpy on the meat. I had chicken and my friends had steak. It was about as good as you get from Taco Bell. I will pass and keep going to Chipolte.

I first discovered Hot Head Burritos while I was in Ohio. Recently, I discovered that they had a location in MI. I was so excited!! What I love about this place is that they allow you to put so many toppings on your burrito or bowl. They have a ton of toppings and sauces to choose from. Also, they offer a special hot head sauce that's absolutely delicious! I usually order a spicy chicken burrito w/ hot head sauce. I've heard that their bowls are good too but I've never tried one. The staff was friendly and the place was clean and organized. I'm sure I'll be going back!

Let me start by saying, this place is at or near the top in its class...that being said this was my second of 2 visits. Like the last visit, this time around was equally as good. Personally, I think customer engagement is the number one most important thing any business should focus on, and missing that is a fail when dealing with the public. This place gets that...the staff was super friendly and willing to accommodate the customers, and will let you sample the many different flavors of sauces as well as try the different meats or any other ingredient, which most places like this would not. The ingredients were fresh, flavorful and portions were more than enough, the options were plentiful as well...and lets be clear the prices are equal to if not cheaper than places like it. The reg burritos are 6.50 and 6.99 depending on the meat and adding guaq is extra just like anywhere else, The meats were completely tender, cooked properly, and regardless of what kind you chose, you are sure to get a great meal. This is a great addition to the area, better than similar places like it. If you are thinking about going and reading reviews to decide...trust me when I say its worth a shot. If you think this is a bland sub shop or a mac-badunkadunk where you can get one dollar artery clogger, then you are at the wrong place. As mentioned I have been here twice now, and plan on going again. Hot Head, you get 5 stars for exceeding my expectations, and delivering exactly what you promised, more than once.

Legitimately this is the place to go for great food especially if you want something new!!! The spicy steak burrito is so perfect it brought tears to my eyes!! If you've had Chipotle and Qdoba, it's the same type of serving style but seriously superior in quality and taste!!! Do yourself a favor and go get it!!!

Used to be one of the best Burrito places in the area, but last 3 times I went there, they have been pretty bad with the quantities. Today, I wanted a vegetable bowl, he didn't mention they don't have vegetable, instead they start putting for me rice and the few pieces of black beans ( the employee tried all his effort to get what left of the black bean bowl to claim he put it in. They then said I don't have vegetable, or chicken ( 8 pm ). I may forgot to mention I also was the only customer at the restaurant (no wonder). Anyway, you would guess making the bowl without the vegetable or meat, they would bother put enough tomato, or lettuce, ..., etc. The employee was hardly putting any. The bowl with no meat or vegetable is not worth it. They didn't bother to apologize in anyway ( apparently it is normal to sell it this way and expect the customer to take it or leave ). I will never get back to the branch, good waste of money

Yuck! Steak cubes were tough and chewy and did not taste like steak. The rest was so bland and the texture of the rice was somewhat hard. Only thing I liked was the Hot Head Sause but they put so little on that I didnt get to enjoy it long. Threw most of the burrito out after picking through it. The setup is similar to Qudoba where you walk by picking the items you want. Guacamole was a additional $1 for a small scoop. Service was friendly. Tables availble.

I cant believe all these reviews... Typical Livonians... This place is horrible. I hope it fails and something better is put in its place. The 2 girls working looked like they didnt want to be there no smiles no enthusiasm in their voice. I got a burrito shaped like a softball stuffed with all the same crap you can get at a Qdoba. The only thing unique about them is the sauces which really have no purpose on most burritos.... Skip this place and support real Mexican food (which you absolutely can not get in Livonia) El Coyote Loko is closest you can get around here. But fill your faces with carbs upon carbs people!

Just visited Hot Heads today after a co-worker kept singing it's praises for weeks. Just opened several months ago and apparently, the first ever in MI. In this area for lunch, if I want anything 'mexican', I either go to Qdoba or Old Mexico so I was excited to switch it up. Nice, unassuming place, clean inside. Went during lunch hour on a Saturday, hardly no one in. I ordered a burrito bowl and paid for chips on the side. Queso is decent, more like a plain cheese sauce than a 'spicy or queso' cheese flavor you'd expect. I ordered spicy taco meat but the flavor wasn't strong enough to withstand everything else in the bowl so I'd say it wasn't spicy. Hot Heads garlic 'ranch' is good. Made the mistake of getting a taco sauce that the girl described as 'half sweet habanero, half straight habanero sauce' but it was RIDICULOUSLY sweet....a weird addition with all the other taco tastes. Even though I ordered that (which 'allegedly' has habaneros in it) and 'spicy' taco meat AND jalapenos on top, nothing was spicy....Like, at all. Flavor was good enough. Sucks you have to pay for chips, unlike Moe's but I do like their stamp card promotion card you can use each visit and you get double stamps on Tuesday, all toward a free meal. And they aren't pricey at all, even paying $1 for Guac (which is kinda high for one small scoop..prbly won't be ordering this again) and about $1 for chips, it still only came to about $8 for a huge bowl...half of it has filled me up. I will be back and try different sauces/meat combinations. :)

I am a big fan of hot head, overall it is pretty similar to qdoba, but they have a good amount of options to set it apart. They have plenty of different types of sauces you can get, two different types of shredded cheese to give you another option. So you can have a good variety. The staff has always been great, they always ask if they put enough ingredients in or if I would like more of something. I have had several types of the meat and I like them all, I think the chicken here is better than qdoba and chipotle. Lastly, I really like the inclusion of a rewards program and special offers on certain days of the week, this is the only one of these types of restaurants that does something like that to my knowledge.

Seriously disappointed. I spent $16.95 for two burritos that I could have done a better job of making at home myself. I got "taco meat" and my husband got steak. They made sure to carefully measure out a small portion of meat for each burrito, there was more everything else than meat, mix that with all the cold ingredients, it was a cold mess. My advice- go to the subway next door like we should've!

This place is absolutely terrible. I went there on Sunday and got 2 burrito bowls, one to eat the next day. One with chicken and one with barbacoa. The amount of meat they actually put on their burrito bowls is enough to feed a 2 year old, not a 6'6 male. Everything was just very bland and you can tell the ingredients are not up to par with a qdoba or chipotle. Ended up getting food poisoning from eating there. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Great fresh food. We have been a couple of times and I always get the Steak Tacos the sauces are really good especially the Hot Head Sauce. My wife always gets the Burrito. She loved it , great taste and it is big ( so I ate some of hers!) . The Queso cheese sauce is really good too as we always get a bag of Fresh Nacho chips. It is set up like a Subway so you pick all your toppings. Very friendly staff and the owner ( I think his name is Dave) came up and asked us how everything was. Fun!
