Nay-Sayers - please! Can't you see this place as the pure specimen of family-owned, Midwestern suburban eatery that it is!? Personally, I found the food quite good. Not gourmet or exotic, just tasty and satisfying. We had the white fish and perch (it's Lent), but there were also something-for-everyone menu selections like steak, pizza, burgers and pasta. Plus a large if unadventurous selection of wine and beer, and fine martinis. And a selection of cheesecakes for dessert. This is a place where adults can go to have an unpretentious yet nice meal without the kids along or fear of random toddlers throwing french fries across the dining room. A place where you can safely bring your picky relatives who wouldn't dream of trying sushi or Thai. A stand-by, go-to place for people in the neighborhood. People who don't need to consult (or leave reviews on) Yelp because they already know what they like, and have been coming here for years. The bar remained bustling even after the dining room cleared out. There is a live cover band on the weekends, who does a fine job of cranking out danceable sing-alongs, and you can observe thirty-something and middle-aged suburbanites doing the white people shuffle in their native habitat. Really quite endearing. There is something quintessential about this place that I can't quite put into words. I feel bad for the negative reviews here...Yes, it's true our waitress never came back to refill our after-dinner coffee, but she probably wanted to get home to her kids. Personally, I can really appreciate a family-owned place that isn't trying to be something overly precious or trendy - just sticking to the formula that has built their business with the loyal locals for the past three decades.

I was with a group of 9and the server Sarah did a spectacular job. Everything came out in the proper order, timely and to the right person. She was outstanding. Everyone's food was good. I started with the clam chowder and it was good. I then split a pizza with my wife and we both thought it was very tasty. The pepperoni had just the fight tang. It is unusual in a group of 9, but nobody complained about anything. We'll go back.

Just had a melt in your mouth filet minion. Medium rare and soft as butter. Great birthday dinner.

The restaurant bar area was very loud. The food took a long time to come out. The pizza was good. The fried shrimp was over done and over priced. The cocktails were a glass of ice with a little liquid. The owner did buy us a drink because the food took so long to come out.

Definitely hip for the 50+ crowd and regulars. The food was underwhelming, and the timing was way off. Our appetizers and entrees came out at the same time, with the explanation that they put them in at the same time because it is so slow tonight. Our bill came to $53 for perch (that was oily), stroganoff (with penne?), wings (that were inedible because they were so hot), potato skins (that were over cooked), and two iced teas (that did not contain ice). It took forever to get our bill ans longer for her to take it. Not worth it.

Interior updates and fresh Calamari is wonderful and tender not rings but fillets you need to try this! Seafood scampi is loaded with bay scallops, shrimp and a delicate wine sauce- terrific for 16.99 and a steal Wait staff friendly and attentive and good wine prices Make it date night!

Enjoyed the experience because of the great conversation with my friend but not the restaurant. I was disappointed. Prices were too high, menu and decor seemed outdated and service was marginal. I actually value family-owned restaurants but this one was missing something...

Very underwhelming. So-so cover band on a Saturday night. Food timing was off, greasy, mediocre frozen food, and just an overall unsatisfactory meal.

Excellent food!! The seafood pasta was wonderful. Very personable manager. A great choice for a great meal. You are missing out if you don't give this a try

OK I admit I am over 60, but the food was excellent! Service was good. I would definitely go back. You young people stick with your McDonalds. I will take this any day.

If I could give an eighth of a star that would be too much. How does this place stay in business? Went here with someone who raved about it. The steak? was indistinguishable. Was it meat or rubber? The vegetables came straight out of the Birds-eye freezer. The best part of the dinner were the garlic potatoes. They were real and had a nice flavor. The staff was slow and just there!..no personality at all. I will make sure, my feet never cross their doorstep. Is that helpful?!?

$32.00 for 2 lunch entrees is too expensive. The food portions are too small in my opinion for the prices they ask for. Service from our waitress was fair at best. Nothing special for this higher price range. I would NOT go back here again.

I went to a party at a friends house and the food was excellent, so my wife and I asked where they got it since we had a dinner party coming up. They said it was from G Subu, so we decided to take a chance and get it from there as well. The owner and his son came and set everything up and it was perfect. I received numerous compliments on the food. I will be getting catering service from there in the future. I still have never eaten at the actual restaurant, but if it's anything like the catering it must be great.

I feel like the prices are too high for the quality of service and food.
