Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

My Mom took me to this place as it was suggested to her by some friends. As everyone is sick of me trying to always drag them to Namaste Flavors and she only does so-so with spicy foods I acquiesced. I will make sure to veto any future recommendations from said friends. Egg rolls were those industrially produced, stuffed to the brim with bean sprouts, cylindrical bricks that have to be injected with all the duck sauce you can get your hands on to be made to taste like anything. Sigh. I would gladly trade these for spring rolls 1/4 the mass that actually taste like something. I had the Singapore noodles which I ordered spicy. First problem is they were like egg noodles-yuck. While I appreciate the effort to actually comply with my "spicy" request the noodles were almost desert dry with a whole shitload of generic curry powder dumped all over them. It was so concentrated and dry it was actually gritty in my mouth. The effect was like taking three ramen noodles spice packets and dumping them into one package worth of noodles, except I would have liked ramen noodles better then the eggy dry starch pile on my plate. My mother got Chicken Pad Thai (despite me warning against getting Thai at a Chinese place). It was drowning in (I think) fish sauce and had such a pungent smell that I would have sworn it was a plate of steaming dirty socks if I had had my eyes closed. My Mom soldiered through it thinking the smell was coming from my plate LOL. I ate a significant portion of this and it didn't really have any tamarind bite, pea-nutty flavor, or scallion-chive goodness that makes Pad Thai yummy. God I hope that was fish sauce because despite the odor it didn't taste that strongly of anything. Wasn't ordered spicy so can't comment on that part of it. The tea kettle served with the meal was huge and the one bag of tea steeping in it was barely enough to change the color of the hot water. Weak near tasteless tea was the obvious result. edit 11/11/10 To he who is baffled: LOL rate a Chinese place on the most ridiculously non authentic item straight off the Asian Sysco truck (the crab rangoon-hello no one eats cream cheese in Asia?!) but mock others for describing bad items on the menu as being unauthentic or overly specific haha. Nice.

My coworker Steve and I put China House Inn through our two round testing methods and I highly recommend it. China House Inn had been open for less than a month when we made our first visit. The ingredients, quantity and food preparation all seemed extremely good. All of the soups we tested (egg drop, hot and sour, and wonton) are also above average and worth trying. Yet, something was amiss. The sauce combinations were a bit off. For example the Mongolian beef had a medium sweet element to it, something I have never before experienced on that dish. On our second visit (we waited till neat the end of our study to let them get their 'sauce together') we happened to have an objective observer with us, whom we had told nothing about our opinion. He found the food good ... but the General's Tso's sauce 'a bit off'. He used the same words we did. It a nice, as classy as you can get in the strip mall, place that needs a little work on their recipes. They are trying hard with the ingredients & atmosphere, but they just haven't quite worked out the sauce yet. If you do go and feel like having a noodle dish, give the Singapore street noodles a try, they were the perfect mix of flavors.

Still great, fresh food years later - anything with shrimp is a favorite. I could go on like Forest Gump about the shrimp dishes....Sizzling rice soup is excellent too. One thing that stands out here is how clean it is. And if you can only it larder one thing, get the crab rangoons - STUFFED!

Great menu selection, ordered the shrimp and broccoli. My girlfriend ordered Cantonese Chow Fun. My Wanton soup was hot delicious with large noodle wrapped meat and some green leaf. Egg roll followed, which was the original style not spring rolls type other restaurants again hot and crunchy. Dinners came out quickly following the egg rolls and to my surprise such a large plate filled with piping hot food. The shrimp were large not those wimpy small ones. My girlfriend's order had big pieces of beef which had the right spice and tenderness I like. Price was very reasonable, thinking of coming for lunch next week.

This is by far the best Chinese we have ever had! The restaurant is very clean and the restrooms are very clean. You can certainly see the pride they take in this restaurant.

I am rating China House Inn 5 stars based on their amazing Chow Fun (wide rice noodles with ginger and brown sauce) and crab rangoon... Both items are of high quality and large portions... I love knowing that if I'm in the mood for rice noodles and don't want to drive too far to get to my favorite Thai restaurant, I can just come here and get my fix! Well done, China House Inn!

Everything was awful. I ordered carry out of vegetable egg foo yung . Nasty. Almond boneless chicken. Tasteless totally flat and tasteless. Won ton soup. Not good and the egg roll was inedibe. I had my tastebuds all set for chinese food too. Disappointing at best.

I've seen some really good reviews for this place online. I mostly go here because they're close to me. The food is pretty good. I wouldn't say, "wow, that's the best Chinese food I've ever had." I'm not sure I've ever tasted Chinese food that was different than any other Chinese food. The service is ok. One time, when I had just moved to Livonia from Westland, an employee told me that she didn't like Westland, because too many black people were moving in. You'd think somebody who is a minority in this country would be less quick to judge other people who are minorities in this country, but I guess that's what I get for thinking. I'm not going to judge an entire restaurant based on one racist employee.

to steal a phrase from comic book guy "worst egg roll ever" why must most egg rolls be horrible? i'm convinced there is a factory somewhere that makes them and all the restaurants buy them from there. egg rolls can be light and fluffy and make you want to kiss the person who made them. but, unfortunately that is not the case at china house inn. the egg roll is dense and cool and filled with nothing tastey. the kung pao chicken was edible. love, juston

We love this place! I love the walnut shrimp if you're in the mood for something sweet. Hubby loves the Singapore street noodles. Honestly I don't think there is anything I've tried here I haven't liked. The crab rangoons are AWESOME. They are so tasty and huge pockets of filling. Best I've ever had Also like the soup and egg rolls. Yummy stuff!
