I've been here a couple of times lately. It's cozy atmosphere even though it's pretty big. They have a really nice outdoor seating area. They seem to have every drink known to mankind, and then some. Their ahi tuna is incredible! The best meal I've had in a long time. It was prepared perfectly and had incredible flavor. I've also tried their portabella burger which was ok. They have a pretty big menu. A bonus is that their kitchen is open late so you can get a bite here even when it's late. The service has been really good every time I've been here.

Wednesday is $1. Domestic bottles ALL DAY LONG... Half off appetizers from 3-7 or 4-7. Can't beat that deal.

Lively american sports bar where you come for a couple of beer with your mates after work catching a game or two. I was here on a company gathering (25 of us) and the wait staff was efficient enough to set us up within minutes. Very impressive. There was a hot hockey game that night so the bar was filled with Detroit Red Wings fans cheering for their home team. Food wise - we tried almost the entire "small plates" section. From nachos with dips, to fried calamari, to quesidillas to chicken wings to potstickers . Nothing extraordinary but good enough to fill you up while you enjoy a pint or two of local IPAs. Service was great and attentive throughout the night. A great place to relax with your co-workers or friends after a hard day;s work or just to catch a game of hockey. basketball or baseball. This place got you covered!

We have been coming here for years--every Friday. Something has changed. Wait staff cranky, kitchen making mistakes. Long waits to have any service. Sonny is a great waiter but have not seen him in a while. Did he leave? If so...big loss. Get it together. You'll lose your loyal customers.

Bar Louie offers $1 burgers on Tuesdays from 5pm-close. This promo is the only reason I went because I'm all about those cheap burgs. The promo only applies when you order a drink. Your dollar will buy you a beef, chicken, turkey or portabella patty and lettuce. Most veggies are fifty cents more, bacon is seventy-five cents and sauces are a quarter. All said and done, you can get a pretty stacked burger for $5 or less. They came out really quickly, so that was a plus. We ordered our burgers medium rare and they all came out well done. Bummer. They use a really dry, low-fat beef, so it was hard to choke down. I'd have been pissed if I paid the regular $10+ for this thing. An order of tots on the side was $4 but it was enough for the three of us to share. I may be back for dollar burgs if I'm in Livonia on a Tuesday. But in the meantime, I'll stick to my delicious $1.25 burgers at Denny's in Dearborn Heights.

Basic bar with basic bar food. Nothing great nothing bad. Drinks are ok and wine menu is just ok. Service is fast just not friendly.

I liked this place. Comfortable patio seating, a nicely eclectic menu, decent service, friendly servers and the food was solid. I had the BBQ Ranch Salad with chicken. It came lightly dressed with lots of tasty morsels like roasted corn, ripe tomato, tender chicken, fried onion strings and tortilla strips to guild the lily. The garlic bread was overkill but it was tasty from the bite I took. I'd definitely eat hear again and I'd likely order the same thing if I was in the mood for a salad. My friend had the chicken sandwich and it looked delicious on thick multigrain bread and tater tots. It's definitely worth checking out and a return visit.

We were staying at the Marriott hotel next door, so we stopped in for a drink before a wedding reception. Since dinner was in a few hours, a group of us split some appetizers instead of everyone ordering entrees. I can recommend the loaded tater tots with no qualms whatsoever - they were amazing. Plenty of queso, jalapenos, and scallions surrounding crisp tater tots which didn't get soggy even after they had been on the table for ~15 minutes (we were getting full). The buffalo wings were good. Quite meaty, and the sauce was flavorful, but the texture was a bit off. If I had to pick an adjective, they were a bit "rubbery" as opposed to crispy on the outside like wings should be. The ranch dressing was chunky and while it was a welcome change from the typical watery sauce at another famous wild wing location, something in it was a smidge on the sour side. They may have even mixed up my order and given me bleu cheese instead of ranch, but I'm not sure as I ignored it after the first wing. The service was pleasant, and the beer selection (despite a baffling review from one other Yelper) was impressive. They had roughly fifteen craft beers on draft from all over the Midwest, and a couple from further away. I got a 20oz Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald, probably my favorite draft beer in the world, and it wasn't poured full of head. The place has a welcoming yet sterile atmosphere, and I'm sure in the summer that the porch is a divine place to enjoy happy hour. The prices were a bit steep - the appetizers were more than $10 each, although they were portioned to share, and the beers were upward of $7 each. Be prepared to pay for consistency, I'd wager. I don't think I'd head here as a destination dinner spot based on the ahi sandwich one of my companions had, but as a happy hour spot I'd definitely come back and split some appetizers again.

I went here for the first time tonight with 12 colleagues for a going away party. We called ahead with a reservation and they had everything ready for us. The waitress was on top of everything and she was very personable. The food was outstanding and the drinks were even better. Everyone had a wonderful time. I was also very impressed at the way she was able to break up the bill so that the company could pay for food and the first round of drinks then everyone else paid for their additional drinks. Very nice place. Highly recommended for groups.

If you can manage to come eat / drink at this location and not slip on their floor... you are a winner in my book. seriously, what is up with the floor here? its soooo slick! And no, I have not been drinking. I do like Bar Louie for a number of reasons, despite their dangerous environment. 1. They have a large menu, with a variety of choices, including typical bar food and some unique items. 2. They have a decent wine, beer and cocktail list. 3. They have good happy hour deals, not that I ever get to go to Happy Hour. But if I did, I would choose this place. Some of their signature cocktails are a little pricey, but overall I do enjoy it when I come here.

Bar Louie: the wait staff is great the bartenders are friendly the beer is cold, the $1 burgers on Tuesday & $1 domestics I. wed can't be beat. What this place is good for: gatherings with friends, happy hour, a midnight snack. For that I give it 5 stars. IMO the food is soso, for a lunch stop or for dinner I'll give it 3 stars. It is however a top spot of mine to grab a cold one with a friend, if you are looking to catch a game, have a chat or just relax with a cold one at a upscale casual bar this is the place. Looking for a trendy dance club or pure sports bar look elsewhere. My fav food here: boneless wings during happy hour ;-)

Cheerful staff and was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was! Great drink prices as well. I don't know why people are giving this place bad rap. I will deftly come back here again when I'm on the road.

We have been going to bar Louie for many years and have always had great service and food until recently. The management has changed causing the experience to be far less fun. No more fun local beer, cranky staff, and we are going to find another place to spend our one night out each week.

I pop in here when traveling. I stay at the Marriott next door. I personally like it here. Wait staff is friendly. Good good. Prices reasonable. Yeah some times it can be a bit slow. So order a drink and slow down your life. :) The tortilla soup is pretty good and dog those loaded fries or tots. Can't go wrong with that!!!!!

This place is a joke. The food tastes frozen and the service is horrible. I went at 3:50 and it was really slow. Just because it is slow does not mean or warrant slow service. I got the Turkey and Brie sandwich, and it just tasted greasy and old. Nothing about it was fresh. Even the greens on the sandwich were wilted. Also, the concept of that sandwich was just too much. Blackberry turkey and Brie --good. Top it with an over buttered parm piece of crappy French bread? No. As for the service, they didn't care. Whether it was because of my age or because I was with my younger siblings. I am 23 by the way but my sisters are younger... My hunch is that they didn't take us seriously, which is absurd. I say this because they were waiting on others more promptly than us. I shouldn't have tipped 20%. But I just wanted to get out of there so I just gave her the money that I had. I'm never coming here again.

Excellent service, cool atmosphere. The bar has multiple TVs to watch sports games. Monday is Happy Hour all day! $3 beer specials, $4 wine and 1/2 off appetizers. The appetizer portions are huge! The reason in rating 3 stars is because it was good food but not great. Not bad, but the flavor was not great.

Went for dinner and drinks with 5 friends on a Friday night. We had a reservation and they had a great table all ready for us. We had our own little spot behind the bar...perfect!! The service was great. She checked on us often and didn't rush us through our drinks, to order dinner. We actually stayed a lot longer then I expected. But we never felt rushed or that they wanted us to leave. We did keep ordering drinks but in the last our we didn't really order anymore. The food was really good. I got the Street Tacos and the portion size was good and the meal itself was delicious. I would definitely go back with a group. The music they played was great, too. Fun night!!

I've been to many Bar Louie's across the country on business...first time I've been let down. I ordered the Blackberry and Brie salad as an Entrée, when it came out 30 minutes later I thought it was a side salad. Very Disappointed. Bar staff was ok; my beer sat empty for longer than it should have but it was cold. Overall I wont be back; if I want a decent meal there is plenty of other options around.

Came here on a Saturday night. Service was very slow. It took us 3 hours to get our food. The restaurant was dead! Not sure what is going on here. I would pass. Not good enough to come back.

I feel like every time I come here, my bill comes and I'm like... What happened? We go to dollar burger night, and one thing leads to another and I have a $40 bill. Overpriced is an understatement. I think beers are $7. The service is slow, which is expected on nights with "specials" but not every night. Also we had a bartender cut off one of my- clearly not drunk- friends. Obviously establishments can utilize their right as a business to serve or not serve alcohol. But the bartender handled the situation so poorly I was surprised there weren't any reviews mentioning her. It was especially strange because my friend had only had a beer there... And 2 before we got there... Which is very usual for her. Overall, it's an overpriced food place and not a good bar. Would not recommend coming here.

Terrible, terrible place. It has the same negatives of any Bar Louie: expensive beers (almost always with a large head in a 14 oz glass), expensive, lackluster food, poor service and generic atmosphere. In regards to service, this Bar Louie is the worst Bar Louie, and possibly one of the worst restaurants, around. Service here is God-awful. Even the staff whose faces have been around a long time still have not figured out the basics of their job. This Bar Louie features: slow server returns, even when not busy, frequent mistakes on orders and an attitude problem. I have almost nothing positive to say about the Bar Louie in Laurel Park Place. Just go somewhere else or make the drive out to 12 Oaks if you must have Bar Louie.

They have the best beers on draft and almost always enough bartenders to take care of the packed big bar. Some are friendlier than others but 8/10 times it's a good experience with the staff. I always get 1/2 cider & 1/2 guiness. For some reason I feel like the customers are always friendly too, every time I get that beer, someone asks me what it is. I think it's next to a few hotels, so solo travelers or business persons are up for conversation. I'm in love with their hummous/3 sauce/cucumber/pita bread appetizer. I get it every single time. It's delicious and the bread is always warm and fresh. The pretzel sticks with sauces are pretty yummy too. They seem to have great specials especially on burger night, where even I, a vegetarian can get a veggie burger loaded with lots of toppings and flavors. Lots of options, lots of seats, great atmosphere and connected to the mall!

I've visited a few times with coworkers as I work close by, and the service is always horrible. We end up waiting too long for our food (which is usually from the lunch menu) and our orders have always come back wrong. One coworker ordered the sliders - the bread was charred and the patties were so overcooked that he couldn't even bite into them. On a more positive note, the reason I give two stars is because there is an awesome beer selection. We have visited as a work group several times after meetings or events to drink and the bar area is the only pleasing thing about this place.

This location is really hit or miss--with more miss. Inconsistent food when I order the same things from each Bar Louie I'm pretty sure my chop chop salad is supposed to be chopped and that my seared ahi tuna isn't suppose to have a fishy taste all around. Although, there are times this location does serve good food. Their Chicken nachos definitely did not have chicken on them, but whatever at this point because I know what I will receive when picking this location over Novi. Perks of this location is that usually when I go later at night it's extremely quiet--which is the main reason I choose this location over Novi. The drinks here are typically stronger then Novi. I don't know if maybe it's because there's not as much traffic in that location or what, but it keeps me going there. Lets just say my 10 dollar mojito was basically all rum..which is great because when I go here I usually go to have a couple strong drinks.

I know Bar Louie is a chain so this is specific to Livonia. Both times I've eaten here the food has not been very exciting. It ranges from good-fine to bad. The bad was the blackberry, orange and brie salad that my friend ordered. While it had 'orange' in the title it did not seem to be include in the salad, which was basically tasteless. My friend ended up sending it back after only a couple attempted bites. The waitress was very nice about it as it was obviously she had barely touched it. Their fish and chips are also disappointing. There is far too much breading with a smaller piece of fish inside. The fries were average. While not a great place for dinner they do have a good happy hour. They have $5 martinis, $4 glasses of wine and 1/2 off some of the appetizers. The last time I went I was with a large group during the week and we ordered several appetizers. We were happy with everything we tried (the popcorn is not something I would think to order but it is really good). The martinis were passed around as well. They have a good variety and we liked all the ones we ordered.

Very very limited beer selection. If you do not like mass produced american beers you are out of luck. The food is a lot of the same over and over. Very unimpressed with the selections. Service was fine. The restaurant was very loud which was not unexpected. Overall it was fair to mediocre.

What happened to the menu? We used to be able to choose from an eclectic variety of interesting and tasty dishes, and now the menu has turned into just greasy bar food. I ordered the italian sub and the bread was so crumbly, it was a mess to eat. Also, I could have had a better sandwich at a Jimmy John's for less money. Don't get me wrong, the tater tots are to die for (and you will die if you eat them as part of your regular diet), but the rest of the food is underwhelming, in my opinion. The bar staff is very nice and helpful, but when they get busy, the quality of service goes down. I don't have a problem going to Bar Louie for an appetizer and a cocktail, but I'm done going there expecting a good meal.

This place was a ray of light in an otherwise stormy day...I was on a flight to Korea that had to turn back to Detroit and was postponed 24 hours. By 1am I arrived at the hotel, starving and exhausted This place was not only open, but had good food (chicken nachos) and an awesome bartender named Whitney who was friendly and attentive.

I would have rated Bar Louie's higher a couple of months ago... but they've changed their happy hour menu, really limiting the discounted food choices available. The place was only 1/4 full the last time we went, and usually it is jamming. I wanted my usual soft pretzel sticks with highly addictive cinnamon butter dip - OMG (plus average honey mustard and meh queso) and Ken wanted wings (surprise!)... only to find both had been removed from the happy hour menu! Yes, I could pay full price.. but that's not the point! Why the change?! Drink specials have not changed, which is good. But, wah!, I want my half-price pretzel sticks! I notice other yelpers mentioned the $1 burger - note that this is just a plain burger for $1. By the time Ken added green olives and cheese and mayo and bacon, it was like $7. It was a good burger, and he seriously contemplated getting another (piglet!)... but not $1.

Lunch, OK. Late night at the tables...I wouldn't go. Service is slow, and apparently application of 1/2 a bottle of Axe body spray is needed just to walk in.

This place has really good hummus and flat bread pizza. The prices are OK, but the portions are generous. I have been here several times. so far every time I've gone the food has been pretty good. The service has been decent, sometimes it's a little slow depending on the night of course. Other than that not a bad place with a lot of veg options, which is always a plus!

I'll be honest; my fiance and I went in with low expectations. We were craving Po'Boys, didn't feel like venturing too far from home (yes, we know Detroit and Royal Oak have far better options, but what can I say, we were lazy). I've known it as mostly a meat market/try hard type place, and we're not usually one for any sort of franchise. But we were surprised. Our waitress (Melissa) was great, the food wasn't awfully priced (we left with app, two entrees, dessert and drinks at roughly $40), and it really wasn't bad. We actually happened to talk to the chef, who said, "We don't really add salt to anything, we like to keep it just seasoned," which was nice to hear. I had fries, which were a bit salty... but that's fries. Everything else tasted far superior. I had the shrimp Po'Boy, fiance had the 4 tilapia tacos, and we split the whiskey cake. Overall, we were pretty impressed; really not that bad for what we were expecting. Plus, that "clientele" is great for people watching.

I have been to Bar Louie's a few times and it is generally good. It isnt anything amazing but it is decent. If you go for Happy Hour, you can get a few appetizers for half price- but similiar to other reviewers, I was bummed they took off some of their good apps! I have had a lunch here- the Bar Louie sub sammich is really good and very large. It is about $10, which isnt bad. Beers are good, selection is decent. Staff is hit or miss. The environment is nice, spacious and inviting decor. The night my husband and I got married we closed out the bar, the staff was nice and gave us some St Patty's day gear.... very thoughtful.

While the food is good and they usually have decent drink specials, it's very hit or miss when it comes to service. My most recent experience there left us leaving prematurely after it took 5 minutes to be greeted by our server and then 15 minutes to get a side of ranch. When enough was enough we kindly asked for our bill and the girl had the nerve to get a snotty look on her face and roll her eyes as she walked away. Very rude and very unprofessional.

I've been here many times throughout the years, and I have always had a positive experience. If you go on the days of their specials, they have really good value. The food and alcohol on other days tends to be a bit pricey.

I sat at the bar with my friend for drinks and a quick app. The bartenders were super nice engaging both of us in conversation even though we are both ladies. I live in NYC and female bartenders usually don't give female patrons a second glance. I ordered the nacho plate and it was huge, as in ginormous! I greedily ate most of it even though it could have easily been shared between three people. I ordered a "martini" off the drink menu, but asked the bartender to make some substitutions and she easily accommodated. I would certainly come back here again when I'm in town.

For a bar inside a strip mall, it really isn't all bad. I can't say it was fantastic, but if invited I would go back again. I met up with a friend to catch the Monday Night game and have a few brews. They have a decent enough selection of beer on tap, with only a few mega-brews (Bud, Heineken, and Guinness), and a good sampling of local and micro-brews. The restaurant area was like a ghost town, but this was somewhat understandable for a Monday night. Our waitress was very friendly, but not terribly knowledgeable about beer...she sold me a strong 'IPA' that had almost no hops to it at all, and described the Bells Winter as a darker beer. I guess I can let her slide since I don't expect everybody to be the gospel according to brew, but she was way off base. My friend ordered a sloppy Joe and tots, and said the food was pretty darn good - even had fried onion strings on the sandwich. At the suggestion of our waitress I tried the potstickers and was pleasantly surprised. They actually had a bit of a crisp to them, the filling was tasty, and the sauce had just enough zip to it. The music that was piped into the bar was a bit too loud and really crappy, but once the game came on they put the TV audio over the speakers. The decor of the place is really nothing all that exciting, but at least it was clean and new looking. Perhaps a bit pricey for the experience, but the food was decent, so I don't exactly feel ripped off, either. Overall it was a satisfactory experience, but not much more than that.

Had the shrimp PO boy and it was delicious. Huge selection of beers on tap, as well as patio seating and friendly service...That being said, nothing I had or saw pushed this place to 5 star status.

One of me and my girls' favorite hangout spots.. especially in the summer. They have a good happy hour menu. The absolute best is the BBQ salad!!! It's a must have with a good portion and the option of adding meat. I'm not a beer drinker so I appreciate having the martinis for $5. The patio is a must do in the summer time. The inside in my opinion is too dark.

This is the second time that I have been to a Bar Louie, but the first time at the Livonia location. I found this to be a decent and clean place to hang out with friends for drinks and some appetizers, although I kind of have a hard time imagining going here for a full meal. Its not that it does not have a dining area, or a dining menu, its just that the bar is smack dab in the middle of the place, sort of like an island of drunks and their antics, so everything you do seems to revolve around the bar in the middle. If you are dining, no matter where you sit, you are basically forced to be entertained by the bar folk, like it or not! Maybe earlier in the evening this is not the case, but I doubt it! Now the goods.....beer and lots of it! There were a few beer specials, but many different selections, that I sure would please most! I have heard that they do a Wednesday bucket-o-beer for $5...will have to try that! The later it got, the more interesting the clientele became...it made for great entertainment. Had a decent time and will check this place out again!

We went here tonight for Kelley W.'s Cinco De Birthday celebration. And after hearing lots of friends compliment this place for its smoke free atmosphere, great specials and amazing tater tots. I must have been mistaken about that because there were a few people who were smoking, which was a bit of a let down. We were here on a Tuesday night, and I took advantage of the $1 Tuesday Burger special. It's worth it. When a cheeseburger normally costs $8.99 and you can get a basic burger for a buck and add your toppings for .25 or .50 cents, it's a real bargain. They were prepared nicely enough, though I wish it weren't cooked quite so much. Medium well would have been better than well or well done. I opted for a burger with blue cheese, buffalo sauce, giardiniera and olives. It was quite tasty. The loaded tater tots is what Kelley and our party raved about. They didn't disappoint. They had everything, and for $7.99 (but half off during happy hour) it was a huge amount of food for the money. Our tater tots had, queso, giardiniera, bacon & green onion. Good stuff. Finally, Vita had the Crab Cake Sliders ($8.99) which had lemon aioli and fried onions on the side. Vita LOVED these. She was talking about them on the way home and said she'd go back again just to have them. I was a little more so, so. I thought they were prepared well. The crab was still juicy and had good flavor, but the aioli was a bit too salty and took away from some of the sweetness of the crab. Atmosphere is pretty typical for any bar. It was nice, decidedly a bit more upscale, and the crowd seemed pretty into it. We'll be back.

I gotta say..I was excited when i found out a Bar Louie was in Livonia..I LOVE the one @ great lakes crossing, so I stopped in last friday around 5pm... When I sit down, there was not as many taps or choices as the one at glc..Same beers on each side was a little disappointing..No matter, they still had some good beers...So I order a Sam Adams Oktoberfest..They were out..UGH...Ok, let me look at what else they have..Give me a Rogue Dead Guy Ale..They gave me one and it was fantastic..Unfortunately, the female server was almost like rushing me to leave..She gave me a bill, even though I said I was not ready to leave.. Anyway, the other bartender, guy with a mohawk who was great, asked if I wanted another one..I said yes, and told him I wanted another Dead guy Ale..He goes to pour it, oops..They are now out of that..UGH!!..So that makes 2 kinds of beers that they are out of....So being disappointed I asked for a different kind of beer which was ok...After that, I left very disappointed with this Bar Louie.. I would like to leave a recommendation...You have 20 taps..Use them for 20 different beers instead of 10..The choices @ GLC are so much better because they do that...Also, running out of 2 different choices is very poor..Especially for someone who does not like the Bud or Bud Light type of beers. One last thing..The guy with the mohawk is a good bar tender..Im sorry I forgot your name...I will try this place again, but I hope I have a better experience..

Service is decent but the food tends to leave a lot to be desired. Overall would come back for drinks but food is not their forte. Great atmosphere though very "classy". Mixed drink selection is excellent. Best mojito ever! Beer selection is just ok though.

Bar Louie is a great place. I love that they're open late (full bar, great variety of beers). They have specials all the time. Like someone else said $1 Tuesday Burgers, they have drink specials too, happy hour specials, a great brunch menu on Sunday with complimentary dough nuts and bottomless mimosas. What more could you want?? It's a great place to grab a drink and some grub with friends, family, whoever!

Love the feel of Bar Louie and the service has always been great! Tuesday nights they have $1 half pound burgers! You read that right. One dollar burgers! They charge extra for cheese and everything else you want on it but it's still a great deal even if it is like a hockey puck. We've been a few times on Tuesdays but we've also gone in on a weekend night and had drinks at the bar.

Boodah was satisfied at Bar Louie. Boodah say very very good. The Calamari was very very good... probably best I have in life time. Ambiance was warm and inviting. Nice bar but was with wife-san so could not sit at bar. Other entrees were very very good... not disappointed in any way shape or form. If you try, you will like very very much. I could not find Louie at bar, but tell him Boodah said hello.

Nice, wide menu with spicy options. Reasonable prices. Good service. Everyone in my group enjoyed their drinks and dishes. We went late night, near closing and the staff didn't rush us.

Turn on the Damn Air Conditioning!?!?!?! I like this place. Food is good, drink specials are better, but the fact that everytime I tell a manager that it is hot and ask them to turn on the air for the comfort of the me the client, they tell me it is broken. It has been broken all summer long. I am not going back there until they "fix" it.

I stop here for lunch every week and sit at the bar. The bartenders are great, but the food comes out a little slow. They're never too busy for lunch, but the kitchen is slow. Food is average.

This is the worst place Ive visited, here in MI. Not only does the food taste like it was frozen then reheated, the customer service was the worst . I'm really not sure how they go about hiring their managers, but they need to rethink their hiring process, if a manager can't even sound educated as they speak to a customer, they have a problem .

Bar Louie is trying too hard. Trying too hard to be fancy, trying too hard to be trendy, trying too hard to have skanky waitresses and frankly, none of it works. First of all, a bar in a mall that has $1 burgers can't be trendy. And a bar that can't make a legitimate grilled tuna plate can't be fancy. Too many things are done at a mediocre level for me to give it a good review. For instance, my girlfriend and I were seated in the "lounge" which consisted of one high top table by the kitchen. There was water all over the floor and a the waitresses were flying by and swinging doors by us during the entire dinner service. Lastly, the waitress was pushy and was so determined to get me to order a french fries, I wanted to punch her in the face. But maybe that was more of the restaurant's fault. The side dishes were all bad for you and bad looking. French fries were common place but Bar Louie also has tots. You can get mac and cheese too, but only one real vegetable option. That vegetable option is broccoli even though everyone in the world hates broccoli. Why waste my time with two greasy potato options, one cheesy option and one terrible option that everyone hates? How about a baked potato, baked sweet potato fries, or a vegetable people can stomach - like corn niblets. If this place adds corn niblets I will give them another star. If they remove broccolli they move up to three.

I go for the $5 martini drink specials Monday-Thursday and nothing else! The waitstaff at this particular location is horrid! They have attitudes and forget to bring extra napkins or water after telling them 5 different times.. The food is not the best whatsoever! I rather eat across the hall at Max and Erma's if I have to! -Ashley

We visited this location last night (Sunday) around 5pm with a party of 8 plus two kids under the age of 3. It was not busy at all, yet somehow it took about 30-40mins to receive our food. When the food came out the majority of it looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time. Both my sister and my husband sent their nachos back because the the chips were soggy and cold - the explanation we received from the waitress was that the nachos are really quick to make and were waiting for the rest of the food to get done. Um, why wouldn't you then make them last? They brought new nachos out and they were still NOT good. I ordered the chicken tenders and fries off the kids menu for my daughter, the tenders were disgusting. They were dry and hard to chew - definitely not something a 2 year old was able to eat easily. I ordered buttered noodles for my 1 year old and they seemed like the noodles were cooked hours ago and just reheated to serve. I ordered the grilled veggie wrap and a side of mac n cheese. My mac n cheese was sitting in a pile of buttery grease and definitely not up to par. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed to have spent $50 on meals for my family of 4 that were definitely not worth the money paid. We will not be visiting this location again.

I always have a great time when I come to bar Louie. The food is fantastic, calamari at a bar is awesome. Drinks are delicious, staff is a bit slow but super nice. They also did some remodeling and the place looks great. Nice classy big bar/restaurant that is very fun and alive.

Bar Louie's was okay, just nothing particularly noteworthy about it. It was a bar. And a lounge. There was alcohol. And acceptable food. The service was adequate, but not attentive. It cost me nearly $20 for one beer (Sam Adams $6) and one appetizer (Tempura Shrimp $10) plus tax and tip. I don't usually spend that much on a whole meal. I will admit the shrimp were good and were the envy of those who saw them (see photo). I was among good company and enjoyed myself but I feel no pull to ever go back there. I should mention that I had a devil of a time finding the place, which I'd never been to, nor was I familiar with the appearance to help me spot it. This would not have been a problem had their sign been working properly but the lights in the words were burnt out or not turned on and you couldn't read them so I drove around the area for some time looking for it before finally stopping to ask a young man who pointed it our to me, not far from where he stood. Oh, and watch out when they bill you. I am in the habit of tipping 20%, having been properly brainwashed by my daughter when she was waitressing in college. If I hadn't checked before I paid, I would have been tricked into tipping 38% for mediocre service without noticing that 18% was automatically added to my bill. So the waitress lost the other 2% I would have given her and I left feeling I had been forced into giving a "tip" whether the service merited it or not. Now tell me, where is the incentive to provide good service if your customer is forced to tip you no matter how you do? No, the more I think about it, I definitely won't be going back to patronize an establishment that extracts money from you that is supposed to be a gift of gratitude.

Don't recommend to visit here. I waited 50mins only to get a wrong burger with 2 sorrys & apologies. First, he said my burger went to wrong table and will prepare as soon as possible. Second, she brought a wrong burger than my order. This bar does not have ability to handle many customers in the peak time. If you want to enjoy something, you'd better go there at not busy time. Personally, find other place than this. It's horrible.

Went shopping at Parisian's and then me and my friend decided to go down the hallway to Bar Louis for something to eat and drink. You know all that shopping just wears one out!!! Anyway, we got 2 small plates -- one was sliders and the other was a salad. They brought the salad out and I said wait we just ordered one salad and we were going to split it. The wonderful waitress said this is a salad that has been split!!! Oh my goodness, it was humongous. The sliders came and there were 4 of them. Although after eating the salad, it was a little hard to eat a slider because I was so full! The salad was delicious. Different kinds of lettuce, berries, chicken, ahhhhhhhh so good! It was like a Michigan salad with all different kinds of berries and nuts! The sliders were just as delicious because of the quality and quantity of beef that was between the buns! Had cheese and a pickle on it as well! Very yummy. Ended up with taking home some salad for later and 2 sliders!I I had a glass of cab and my friend had a mixed drink that she was very grateful for. The music in Bar Louis was great, the waitress was great, and the food was great - this is definitely a do again, especially when I go shopping! The only thing was we were there after the mall closed, so we had to walk all the way around the outside to get back to my car - note to self, park close to Bar Louis!!! A little pricey but it was fun.

I don't usually review, but I really need to start. It had been a long time since we've been in a Bar Louie. First off it was lunchtime and the place was practically empty. Maybe 3 other tables besides ours with people hanging out at the bar. Our server was friendly enough, but man was the food slow in coming out. My husband had the BBQ chicken ranch salad. Because he's allergic to soy we asked she check what had soy on it first. She just mentioned the dressing and onion strings. Weren't we surprised when the salad came out with no chicken at all. Doesn't really constitute a chicken salad anymore even though we were still charged for it. My crispy chicken sandwich was decent, but could have used some more dressing. Didn't want to ask for more considering it would probably take 20 minutes and we had our 2 year old with us. I had also asked for my tots loaded but they came out plain. I really wanted to like this, but will probably go elsewhere next time we're in the mall.

We returned to Bar Louie in Livonia last Saturday evening as the other restaurants in the area all had a 45-60 minute wait. There was no wait at BL. This should have been enough warning that the experience would be a disappointment, but several in our party were very hungry. Consistent with our last visit, the food was unimpressive, served cold, and overpriced. Unless you're only here for drinks, go elsewhere.

I came here when I was in town and hear it's a good happy hour place. I was just here for lunch one day and in general it was OK. It was at the beginning of the lunch crowd hour so we were the only table besides a couple others so it was quiet and we had a nice table by the window. It's a typical menu with bar food and casual American dishes. They have a great drink menu from one time I came here a couple years ago but I did not drink this time. It's a large place with plenty of seating and TVs for sports viewing. It's a pretty standard chain restaurant and the service was nice. I do give this place a lot of credit for being in this spot for so many years given that before there was a new restaurant in the spot every year. It does have staying power.

I ate and drank here three nights in a row while on business. Apparently, It's hard to find a place that offers a good craft beer selection in the area. Bar Louie had a great selection though... including one of my favorites Flying Dog "Raging B*tch." Asides from the beer, they had a great $1 hamburger on Tuesday night. The next night I let the waitress Tina pick something out for me. She came back with some chicken plate which kicked absolute ass! I was pleased. I agree with the other reviews that the service can be a bit spotty. On the first two nights, Tina was an awesome waitress who was on the ball (not hard on the eyes either=). On the last night, my next server was hard to track down and provided just ok service (although she wasn't hard on the eyes either.) Regardless, I'd definitely go back because I'm a beer snob who enjoys good food and some eye candy. BEER, Food, Eye Candy, service... those are my levels of priority. That is all, carry on.

This place has a nice atmosphere but the staff is supper weak. Sunday 10 pm. "your drinks are being served by" sign says "Josh", so im trying to his attention with saying his name and he wont respond at all. I ask his name and point out the sign and he tells his name is Brian and that he just never changed the sign (that's written in chalk). Never changes sign... Two waitresses come by our table but neither bother to say hi, leave the old drinks from the last people on our table... Brian's nice and comes by a few times in the end but i don't think we'll come back.

This was my first and last time ever going to a Bar Louie. Me and 3 of my friends decided to try the place. Our waiter was horribly rude and would not give us the time of day! We had to flag him down severl times just to get refills on drinks. We noticed he did this to several tables around us. He also acted like we were annoying him when asking for refills. The food was so-so. Nothing I couldn't get at an Apple Bees for half the price. Two of my friends ended up sick from the food as well when they got home that night. Don't waste your time or money here!

If cute young college-age women in black t-shirts is your thang, then Bar Louie may be just your kind of place. Located in a mall in Livonia, MI, Bar Louie is a pretty cavernous place with all sorts of nooks and crannies to fit whatever venue your dining/drinking party is in the mood for. And of course there are those ladies... who hover around the hostess stand early on but who infuse the place with an infectious vibe of "let the good times roll"... sorry I never learned French. Tuesdays are a big draw because that's $1 burger night... a coin purse carrier's dream. Happy Hour also adds $3 drafts which also brings out all the nickel counters. My most recent visit was indeed on a Tuesday and I took advantage of both the $1 burger and the $3 draft and no, I no longer own a change purse. The latter is a pretty straight forward proposition with perhaps 10-12 draft options available, from PBR to Fat Tire. The burger conundrum is a bit more cerebral... The burger comes with the meat, the bun and lettuce... the last item, being a curious choice in and of itself. All of the other sides from cheese to bacon to even, mayo, come ala carte... The prices for sides are nominal with most at 50 cents but... come on, one would expect copious amounts of onion, if not mayo, for 50 cents. That's not the case however... My burger, ordered with cheese, bacon, onions and pickle came with a slice of cheese, good, a slice of bacon, boo, three onion "tendrils", bigger BOO, and two pickles, ... are you kidding me??? Really?? The word "chintzy" comes to mind even if the basic burger is a buck... And the taste? Prepared earlier and kept in a hotel pan... Biggest BOO!!!!! I also ordered a side of the "world famous" Tater Tots which were mostly soggy and very mediocre... Probably not even "Livonia Famous"... All-in-all, if you like cute college-age women in black t-shirts... Otherwise...

The good: Burgers. Not bad actually. Tater Tots! Even if they are a rip off money wise, because Tater Tots! The bad: Funky ass moldy dishrag smell 4 out of the 6 times I was here. Seriously guys maybe change the mop water once in awhile? Terrible crappy salads. Salad I had was ghostly white iceberg absolutely soaked with water and had very little chicken in it. Other salads are too gimmicky and fruity and trying too hard. Beer selection is a juggernaut of meh. Had coffee one time for lunch. Most burnt horrible tasting coffee in recent memory. Waitress gives us shit for asking for a fresh brew and claims it was "just brewed" when they opened. It's going on 2 hours since they opened. Replacement cup of coffee is fine. Waitress is incredulous at the idea coffee could go bad in 2 hours. WTF? Prettly lame-douchey-Wonder bread-suburb-y vibe. I keep getting dragged here. Other people seem to like it. But not me.

Went here opening day to catch the game. We were 3 of probably 15 people in the whole place. Ordered a burger medium which came out well-done. The fries were extremely salty and for a tall beer at $7.25, a bit over priced. Staff was friendly, but with so few people there orders should have been cooked properly.

  • T-rex M.

Waitress forgot to put in the order for our fries. When we asked for them, she cancelled the order and was like "lol sorry." To which I was like please bring me some fries. Waitress forgot my beer, too. Nothing was great. Have been to other Bar Louie's and had a great time.

It's got a great atmosphere, but paying the tab is a real chore. Every time I have been there paying and leaving takes at least 30 minutes. The wait staff is very prompt with taking and bringing orders, but needs work on returning after the fact to check up.

This has to be the nicest Bar Louie I have ever been to! First, the ambiance. Most of the Bar Louie's in Chicago that I am familiar with (there are only a couple that haven't closed) seem tired and old. Not so with this location. The space is huge and is paneled in dark cherry wood with light green upholstery on the circular booths. Wrought iron separates the sections and there is a nice patio out front. i was a little nervous, given the football games that were on during the time that we wanted to visit, that the place would be packed, but it wasn't. In fact . . . . .there were only a couple of other tables taken. Turns out their busy nights are Tuesdays, when they do $1 burgers, or on Wednesdays when they do $1 beers. Wouldn't you know we were there on a Sunday? Oh well . . . . If you want beer- they have about 20 on tap as well as plenty of domestic bottles as well. And watching any game here would be a pleasure as there are large screen TV's circling the bar that are easy to see from most seats in the place. The same menu that is at the other Bar Louie's is here. We ordered some of their loaded tater tots (worth every darn calorie! )as they were drenched in spicy cheese sauce, bacon and scallions! Plenty to share! For my entree, I had the tilapia tacos (4 to an order) and my dining companion had the pulled pork sandwich. The food came up quickly and was quite good. the tilapia tacos came with avocado as well as a side of beans and rice. And all sandwiches come with fries. Our server was efficient and friendly, there is plenty of free parking in the lot (this is the suburbs, after all!) and dinner for two ran about $36 (no alcohol). All good things! So the next time you are looking for a place to grab a quick lunch or dinner- check out Bar Louie. It might be a pleasant surprise!

Came here for dinner the other night. My boyfriend and I had their salads and they were delicious. Fresh greens, and the dressing was amazing. Waitress wasn't very attentive, but we were more intrigued people watching. If you are in a hurry this place is not a good one. Very great beer selection!!!!

Prompt and pleasant service at the bar. The food was prepared perfectly as ordered, and was served in a really decent time for as many people as there were in the restaurant, also being served. Quite enjoyed it.

I was in town for work, staying at the Marriott around the corner. Since I didn't have a car, I was basically a slave to my surroundings. There were only a few options as far as dinner went, so on Friday night I decided to dip into Bar Louie. The service was pretty lousy. It took so long for me to get my beer that I honestly forgot I even ordered it. Perhaps it was a fluke, right? My second beer took just as long to arrive. Oh, well. I had nothing else to do but return to my hotel room and go to sleep unfulfilled, so I was willing to wait without complaint. Plus Justin Verlander was throwing a perfect game. That occupied my time plenty. One of the employees, Sonny, noticed I was wearing my Appetite for Destruction shirt and said he couldn't help but come over to acknowledge it. I so enjoyed talking to him in brief about all things Guns N' Roses that when I returned a night later with co-workers, I asked for Sonny (like a smitten little schoolgirl) in hopes of continuing our conversation about America's greatest rock and roll band. Unfortunately his shift had ended. Speaking of Gn'R, the "DJ" that night was a real prick. My co-worker asked him if he could play Guns N' Roses. His response? "We don't play that shit here." Mind you there were only two girls on the dance floor at the time, so it wasn't like he was bringing the house down with the songs he had on shuffle. The food was good. The service was slow but the server was pretty. And Sonny was awesome. Rock and fuckin' roll.

Damn I thought I reviewd this place. My bad. Was busy everynight I stopped in here, young crowd, wither drinking, eating and watching TV. Back bar was awesome. Food was delectable, and other place I would have normally wanted to hit was forgotten. I am sorry.

Awesome happy hour specials. A great place to meet up with friends for any occasion. I'm honestly surprised by all the poor reviews on here. It's a restaurant/bar and they do a good job of running it in my opinion. I was here once a week when I lived in Livonia and plan to be back when I visit for the holidays. If you want good drinks and small plates/appetizers I recommend Bar Louie! Their burgers are good and so are most of their sandwiches. Servers are friendly and nice. They do their best even when they are crazy busy, (which is often!) to make your experience a good one.

This was the first time that we ever tried this restaurant! My family and I went to the Partridge Creek Mall for Memorial day weekend. There was so many people there and dogs and loads of kids playing in water fountains. The water fountains popped out of the ground and the little ones had bathing suits and towels and they and their parents were jumping up and down in the water keeping cool on the 85+ degree day! We had so many choices to order from the menu! There were burgers, salads, Club sandwiches. They have loads of soups and the best french fries ever ever ever!! We all 3 ordered different items for lunch and we each were trying each others food and loving every single bite !!! The food was delectable and we are definitely going back there again! I had macaroni and cheese and a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato sandwich!! My husband had their Cuban flat bread with turkey, ham and swiss on it!! My daughter had the "chop chop" salad and loved it! I took a taste and it was "out of this world"!!! I think I'll get that definitely next time@!!!
