Love archies. Service is always good and friendly. Food is homecooked and fresh and delicious. Love the chicken florentine on sat and sun. The french onion soup is amazing and we love the ranch. Their ice tea is the best.

This place has been around for over 30 years and when you eat here you will know why! The food is great! George and his family make you feel like a part of theirs! From the French onion soup, to the Fish & Chips, to the daily specials this place is one of my favorites! EVERYTHING is home made!

It's a perfectly decent place: clean, satisfying food and friendly servers. My breakfast was pretty good but a little more expensive than I had hoped. All in all, though, it was ok. My coffee was kept full, and the food came fast. Kudos to them on the overall service experience. Nothing was really a standout, but I'll have to try another mealtime to call it anything but basic. The only bad: the fruit was a cocktail, out of a can or jar... I was hoping for fresh for the price, but maybe that's one of the finer details of the "old people" comments, beyond it being full of old people.

I have been to Archie's twice with family and must say the food is great! The menu is very large as most family restaurant are in the Detroit area. they have something for everyone and then some! The last trip to Archie's was with 12 people (5 of which where per teens)and everyone found something they wanted! The owner took care of our table and offered items that where off the menu to use, how often dose that happen at Denny's? The food all came at the same time and was hot and taste! Remember to eat well and to live well, AND PLEASE NO CHAINS!

The girlfriend and I visited this place tonight having never been here before and were initially greeted with a friendly reception. First impressions left us believing that it was your run-of-the-mill family restaurant, and that impression was never really proved wrong. They serve beer and mixed drinks, which is a step up over most of your coney's, which is a plus, but the menu is unoriginal and bland. I ordered the broasted chicken and my girlfriend ordered the open face hot beef sandwich. Neither of us were particularly impressed with the food, as it was somewhat bland. The meal here was nothing better than we could've cooked ourselves. The mashed potatoes were probably out of a box, and the corn was probably out of a can. Honestly, it was a little disappointing. Worst of all was the service. Our waitress was friendly, but maybe a bit air-headed. We were tended to just fine while eating but when it came time for the check we waited a good 10 minutes after asking for it before I decided to walk up to the counter. Not a huge deal, really, but there was no apology to be had, just an "Oh haha, I forgot." There are so many restaurants in the metro Detroit area that I can be picky enough to choose the ones that don't have plain food and mediocre service, and we probably wont be coming back again. It's not that we had an awful horrible experience... it was just average in every way.

This place is your stereotypical family restaurant. Standard menu, standard decor, standard experience. However, I think the food was definitely a step above what I had expected. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and it was delicious. They also gave me a generous portion of fries. They serve bread in plastic bags, which has always been odd to me. I don't understand why any restaurant would do that.

It's an "old people" restaurant, and that is precisely what we were looking for! I asked my cousin (Hi Nick!) to find a place for us to take Grandpa Harold (Hal) and Grandma Margie for a quick and easy lunch, and he successfully pinpointed Archie's as not only having a big/huge menu, but also being centrally located and favored by the grandparents. He didn't even have the Yelp app! He asked his mom! I'm working on it. HUGE menu (breakfast and lunch items), lots of specials and many, many, many blue hairs in for lunch. It was a sea of happy older people. It was perfect! Not too loud, big comfy booths, food they enjoy, and us...the "super grandchildren!" My cousin tells me this spot is jam packed for breakfast on the weekends, but even on a Friday it was bumpin' with the post 70-crew. They must be doing something right. All of my dining companions chose sandwich specials (with soup!), and I opted for an omlette with tomatoes, shrooms and cheese. It was massive, hoarding the entire plate for itself, and I polished it off quickly. Coffee was hot and ready, the only disappointment is that they serve Pepsi products. I'll forgive, based on the kindness and patience of our waitress and the swiftness of our food. Some funny notes: *Omelettes and Skillets cost $1 extra after 11am. I'm not sure why, I'm going to surmise that the eggs get annoyed after a certain hour, thus the extra charge. *KENO available! I have no idea how to play, but I will learn someday. Lunch for 4: $35 + tip. We were all very well fed and hydrated. Nick and I have gained a few extra points in the war for "best grandkids." I'm kidding, sort of! It was a successful day and lunch.

Where to go when you have 6 hungry mouths to feed and everyone wants something different? Why Archies, of course! Hats off to Collen C. for finding this place on one of her trips to the Motor City. I bookmarked it knowing it would come in handy one day and today was that day. We walked in and were immediately seated in one of their big booths (perfect for 6 people) The menu is large featuring both breakfast and dinner items. Omelets, pancakes, sandwiches, soups, salads, Greek specialties, seafood, Italian- there surely is a little of everything on this menu! I had a gyros platter, my nephews had fried shrimp and seafood, and chicken Parmesan and chicken fingers rounded out the dinners. Each comes with a side and soup or salad. They even have a full bar if you want a cold beer, glass of wine or mixed drink! Dinner for six ran just under $100 which was reasonable given the portion sizes are huge and most had another meal to take home. And our server, Tina, was personable and quick which was surprising given she had several large groups she was taking care of. But the biggest compliment came from one of my picky eater nephews when he asked if they could come again tomorrow. Score a win for Aunt Carol!

Had dinner at Archies last night with a friend. I have to say, even though in my first review I made fun of the clientele, the owner really does make it a point to come to each and every table to see if everything is alright. The food is always tasty and good. The restaurant is definitely clean. The waiters/waistresses are all so very nice. When you receive your food you get huge amounts - good for the next day too! I like to drink a little wine - especially red wine. The owner told me for a FYI that if you order a bottle and drink two glasses you can always take home the rest and it costs just about the same as 2 house wines! I thought that this was very nice of him. For the elderly he opens the doors and he has been known to even run out in the rain and close car windows for his patrons! How many other places can you find that would do this!???? Yesterday on the menu they had Chicken Paprakosh???Spelling, which is a Hungarian meal. This particular dish is very delicious and I'm sure that there were a whole lot of calories in it! It is sort of like comfort food - you know here in Michigan we love comfort food, especially on such a rainy day. Defintely would recommend this place and I did see a few younger people in there as well!

I love this place for the FOOD, SERVICE AND ENVIRONMENT!!! Our server, Ashley was cute as a button.....very friendly, and attentive. The chicken paprikash was "just like dear ole mom's" and the surroundings are very comfortable. The management team has done a wonderful job of combining all the right ingredients to make this a favorite for me.
