The DJ on the weekends is pretty good. Their mac and cheese is very tasty. If you order chicken strips, be aware they'll charge you for extra sauces... Their banquet room upstairs is surprisingly great for baby/bridal showers.

This bar & grill easily maintains one of the best craft beer selections in the metro area, if not the best. I cannot really comment on the food, but they seem to do well.

I love the upgraded tap room. 76 drafts now on tap. What I don't like is the ridiculous prices. Get ready to pay nearly a dollar per ounce. I really wanted to start going more but its just wayyyy overpriced. Ill go to ashleys any day of the week over here. I can't justify spending 8 or 9 bucks per beer. I paid 9 bucks for a 10oz shorts key lime pie yesterday... 3 beers later and my bill was over 30 bucks. Talk about ridiculous

This place was a pleasant surprise. It really doesn't stand out, and maybe during the winter, for lunch, it's not an area of town you would drive to looking for a place to have lunch. For lunch, there weren't many people in the place, except a group of guys at the bar. But we found a nice quiet corner to talk about business. They have a full menu, many options with daily soup and sandwich specials. There is a large selection of salads and sandwichs (burgers and wraps), all the way up to full entries. Two of us select the lunch salad special with a cup of soup. The soup options were crab bisque, beef barley, and chilli. And then you get a select a smaller size version of one of their 10 specialized salads. I went with their signature Cobb salad. this salad had a health of topping, bacon, avacoda, grilled chicken, cheese, and hard boil egg - it was a good choice.

Came in on a Friday night for the first time, hoping to get some grub and catch the Wings game. Plenty of TVs to see the game, so that was great. They were almost at capacity with several large tables reserved for parties, but the two of us were seated in on of the last open areas. Our server was friendly and prompt- besides bringing out a different oatmeal stout beer than what was asked for... But no big deal. Food was tasty but nothing exceptional- they had an extensive menu so I'm sure some dishes would be better than others. Overall the experience was a good one, and I would return. Nothing fancy, but what you'd expect out if a decent little sports bar.

We moved here a few months ago and searched for a new local bar.. so glad to find One Under. I must say I was reluctant at first because it sits in front of a golf course and I thought it would be a golfer type place... but no.. mostly we see non-golfers, and younger people. The bartenders are friendly and so are the servers. The owners are usually on-site and really take an interest in their business (and our enjoyment of it). We hadn't had any bad food and the beer list is EXCELLENT! One thing we found in Livonia is a lack of good beer at bars... One Under is an exception. Glad it's so close by..

Went in this past Saturday pretty early for a special event hosted by a local radio station. So we grabbed a table and sat down to kill some time. Service was very attentive. Checked on us just enough but not too much to make us feel rushed to eat and leave. The menu had a very good selection for a bar. We had the fish and chips and the wings from the appetizers. Both were VERY generous servings. The wings were big and meaty (we ordered 10) half buffalo and half spicy Thai. Tasty. The fish was very moist, flaky and surprisingly delicious. I couldn't stop eating the lightly battered fries. It also came with a house salad and coleslaw. We actually had plenty of leftovers. We also had two tall new castle beers and a fantastic Bloody Mary. All for a smidge over $40. We will be back!

Our family of 5 have gone to 1Under a handful of times because the adults enjoy the craft beer selection. There is a verity of food choices for our family wanting different things. The beer is good but inconsistent in freshness due to having so many choices. Sometimes the beer is flat and sour tasting. Since they are one of the few that carry craft beers on the west side, we wanted to fill our growlers and came in for dinner. We asked at the end of dinner to have 3 growlers filled with our beer selections. We waited longer to get the growlers tan we did to be seated, order our food, wait for it to be cooked and actually eat it. They brought 2 growlers and the other one was supposedly coming soon. We waited another 15 minutes before having to get up and get the growler ourself from the service bar counter. And to make the whole experience the worst one ever, we were charged $30 per growler to fill. (And we had our own growlers). $90 for 3 growlers. And we weren't told untill we were brought the bill. We could have drove to the actual brewer on the east side and filled double that amount for the same price! We will never return due to their ridiculous price for filling growlers and for their way in dealing with selling them. You would think that a place like that starting out new with the craft beer selections would have handled that like a business owner who cares about the customer coming back. 1Under you may want to look at places like Ashley's in Westland or the best is the Clubhouse in Rochester. Those places by far blow away your business model. Worst experience ever!

I'm a little hesitant to write a big review since I've only been here once, and I didn't eat, just drank. We got there with a pretty big group of friends a little later in the evening to see a live band that was playing (who will remain unnamed). It's a nice big space, I can definitely see why people go there to see live acts or watch sports. However, I can't say I was particularly impressed with the crowd, the drinks or the service. On this particular night if you were under age 45 you were a spring chicken. You easily could have thought it was an 80's themed party, except it wasn't. If you have a good sense of humor, you could still find some good amusement, but I can't say it's a place I would recommend. The drinks were okay, but I can get better drinks for cheaper prices in the area, so that didn't earn them any points. I can see how people like to go here for dancing though, it's a huge wide open space and the band has a nice stage and good sound system. Probably on a different night with a different band it could be a totally different experience, but I don't know when I'll be back.

My friends and I came here to watch a Wings game. The atmosphere was great. The bar was packed and everyone was into it. There are a bunch of tvs which make it easy to watch the game. They might as well change the name to 1 Over because this place is anything but sub par. This place may be the greatest bar and grill I have ever been too ever!! Brain, Steven and Jason are not only great owner and operators, but great people too. A very large craft beer selection and food that will keep you begging for more! I've never had a bad night at 1 Under and I know you won't either. They have the most beautiful female staff in all of Livonia. One of the younger cooks made me some of the best fish tacos I've ever had in my life!! Also if you think the bar food is good you have not tried the banquet food. The Mothers Day buffet had the biggest selection of delicious food. Oktoberfest had some of the best authentic German food I've ever had. And New Years Eve they go above and beyond to celebrate the new year!! Don't forget about the annual golf outing that is guaranteed to be a blast!

Was looking forward to it after the reviews the service was lackluster good amount of food for the price but food subpar The steak was bland and steamed vegtables raw ,but as another reviwer said and we agreed the spinach artichoke dip was the only saving grace! looks like a Lucky's Of novi knock off and verry loud for the small amount of people there. Biggest turn off was the sticky floor everywhere . Benefit of the doubt mabyee there was a party the night before and they didn't get to mop or clean the bathrooms yet. The beer selection is amazing, they are going for a big taproom and by golly they got it. I can't think of anywhere within an hour's drive of our home that can offer this varied of a tap list. Recently (in june) had our wedding reception in the upper floor of one under. Most people dont even know they do weddings but its kind of a hidden gem. We had about 125 people show and the food was AMAZING (im still getting told it was awesome by guests) and the coordinator kristy executed my vision above my expectations. Everything was perfect. I cannot say enough nice things about the entire staff! they even made a siganture cocktail for us to match our colors and allowed us to use the golf carts for photos. The owner is a great guy too. On top of everything moving seamlessly, it was so reasonably priced for what you get and we were on a budget. Check out the banquet hall if you are thinking about doing a shower or wedding reception somewhere! They already have very elegant white draping and lanterns so you really dont have to do much more except for flowers if you are trying to keep things simple. Bonus: They will set up and clean everything for you and you can pick up your decorations the next day. Makes life easier. As for the bar, I know the food is really good and the atomsphere is clean and friendly. I may do future events here. thank you thank you thank you Best Regards, An OCD Bride :)

Good food! Great beer! Beer prices are ridiculous and food is over priced! Only give 10 oz on beers for the same price everyone else gives out 16 oz. If it's a seasonal or special brew they tell you they can't sell a growler but then you will see them filling it for someone else. Then a standard IPA that you can buy for $8.99 at the store, they charge you over $20 for a growler! Insane prices for growler and $7 or $8 for a 10 ounce beer of hopslam when others sell 16 ounce for same price. It is a nice place but act like they are the only place that will sell a micro brew.

The only reason to go to this dive was the trivia game on Sunday night and now they've discontinued that. They can renovate all they want, but the the food is over-priced and mediocre at best. The drinks are chintzy. And the acoustics are AWFUL. Terrible place to see a band. Cover charge? Please. You're a pole barn on a public golf course. Get over yourselves.

1 Under has an excellent selection of craft beers and a fantastic happy hour: $3 beers after 9pm Monday - Friday. Beers that normally come in less than a pint (rare or high ABV) are $5 during happy hour. My friends and I have sat at the bar during our visits and gotten great service. The bartender has been really cool about letting us taste a sample of beer to see if we like it, too. On the food side, we've split a few things including their pretzel sticks and meat lover's pizza. The pizza was excellent, where I'd skip the soft pretzels next time. if you like craft beer, you've definitely got to stop in here during happy hour. You'll find brews from Founders, B. Nektar, Short's, Wolverine, Alaskan, Dogfish Head, Jolly Pumpkin, Great Lakes, New Belgium and more. Whether I'd stop here outside of happy hour remains to be seen, but until that day, I'll definitely keep rolling in after 9pm to take advantage of their friendly service and awesome prices.

This place used to be good now....not so much. Their menu is now smaller (I miss the nachos), my friend wanted to order pizza and laughed when the waitress said a plain cheese pizza was $10 lol. Service was okay, she checked on us but had zero personality or desire to be there it seemed. Also no prices listed next to any of the beers, thanks guys, very helpful. I gave it one star for a wide beer selection (although one of mine was also skunked like another reviewer said) & 1 star just because it had a patio....which you can enjoy mediocre service on while drinking possibly skunked beer (go ahead and roll the dice) to wash down overpriced food from a small menu lol

This is my third visit. I did not post after visit 2 because things went badly but the management made it right. Tonight...well ...not good. Here are the issues: 1. Hair in my salad. (They took $$ off the bill last visit for this.) 2. Wait times for food on visits 2 and 3 were ridiculous. On visit 2...the management bought us a bar shot. 3. Done with your drink? My husband had to go to the bartender to get another round on visit 3. 4. When seated, we were told that we needed to be gone by 9 pm as the table was reserved. 5. When clearing the plates, the wait staff simply asked, "Are you having more food?" (Huh? You gonna reuse the plate?) There won't be a visit 4.

Great place for drinks. However, for food I will NOT be back. Our waitress was careless, my food was cold, and our food didn't even come out on time! When I complained and asked for a manager I was told one was not available. A random girl came over with no introduction. I told her my problems and then proceeded to watch as 6 girls talk bad about me around the hostess station with no resolution. To top it all off there are dead bugs on the window sills and Not a SINGLE waitress had their hair pulled back. I grew more disgusted with every girl I saw chit chat while playing with their long locks and then proceed to serve people FOOD!!! Absolutely disgusting. WHERE IS YOUR MANAGEMENT?!?!? Oh yeah that's right.. She said you were on a party bus.

1 Under is a well kept secret in the area. This place consistently delivers high quality food & service every time I go there. Recently, I was looking to get my "Fish & Chips" fix, and you can;t beat it at 1 Under. It's one LARGE piece of flaky, perfect cod served with beer battered fries, creamy coleslaw, & a side salad that's practically a meal in itself. Quantity alone does not impress me, but the quality of this meal is outstanding. Easily some of the best fish & chips I've ever had! I've also had several sandwiches, and their burgers are incredible (try the breakfast burger!)

76 beers on tap! That's a good place to start. I went here on a Friday around 5pm and had a great experience. I ordered the spicy Asian wings and they were fantastic! Made just right, crispy outside and juicy inside. The prices were fair and the beer was cold. The only reason I didn't give five stars was the cleanliness. The bathroom was gross and it looked sticky behind the bar.
(4)
T H.
Just another mediocre bar. The FISH N'CHIPs were horrific.....RAW in the middle. Who the hell is the cook? I suppose if all you want to order is burgers n' fries, they can probably adequately provide, but I wouldn't venture beyond typical "bar-food". Prices are about par for the course (no pun intended), I suppose. I'll go back again, so that I can maintain some subjectivity. Stay tuned...............

4 stars for the beer list alone. 76 taps, at least 20 are rotating. I've driven past this place many times over the past 6 years. I was always a little curious, but never stopped in. Now that they've reopened as a craft beer bar, I had to go! We got there at about 9:30pm on a Saturday night. They had 2 big bouncers at the door, checking ID. No cover, but not sure if that changes after 10pm. It was busy, but there were spots at the bar and some booths. I was a little confused by the hostess stand. The young lady working at the stand said I could sit wherever I wanted. OK. There were booths that could seat 6 people. It would make sense to manage those booths. There were quite a few flat screens throughout the bar. They had lots of sports, plus videos of whatever song the DJ was playing. The music was OK & really loud. The whole bar was very loud. It was hard to hear my friend. There isn't a dance floor. I don't get it. They have a DJ, who plays music that people would dance to yet there's no dance floor. No one was dancing. So, I'm not sure what the point is of having a DJ. Our bartender, Tori was very nice. She was attentive and pretty knowledgeable about the beer. She mentioned that the owner had staff go to local breweries to learn about their beer. They need to have a better system for labeling flights though. She had a little difficulty renewing a couple of the beers. It's no big deal though. Flights were $2/each, in a paddle of 4. They only allow 1 beer sample per customer. After that, you must order a flight. I haven't run into that at other places. The bar got busier as it got later. It's definitely "the hangout" for young singles. While that's not my scene, but that beer list is awesome. That alone will bring me back!

Why was there a cover? Could I pay double cover to make the terrible country music stop playing? I'm still convinced that my salad dressing was made at least partially out of dirt. I'll take the blame though--I did order a salad at a bar. On the bright side, the chicken on top of the salad was well seasoned.

Decent food and atmosphere. Now an excellent craft beer selection. Only drawback is the prices are pretty high.

Great beer selection. Solid food. The burgers are nothing special, but the birdie club was pretty good.

Third visit did not go well. Too many problems to list. Trying a new place this week.

Pro's: Beer selection Food is decent Lots of TVs Cons: Servers ignore you Chemical (?) smell in the building

Why was there a cover? Could I pay double cover to make the terrible country music stop playing? I'm still convinced that my salad dressing was made at least partially out of dirt. I'll take the blame though--I did order a salad at a bar. On the bright side, the chicken on top of the salad was well seasoned.

Beers are skunked. Had a sample of 4 familiar beers and 2/4 were totally skunked. Sorry, this is for sure. Not debatable. Not going back!
