Go for the view. The staff often seems vacant and as if we are bothering them asking questions about ingredients, sizes, hours, specials. We had hummus and it had an odd burnt flavor. We also ordered a pizza. It was ok. They advertised a free nacho bar for happy hour. The chips were a bit stale. They did have early beer and margaritas cheap (until 6). We've stopped here a few times to sit on the water. The food has always been ok at best. I wish the host staff were a bit friendlier and the menu freshened up because this could be a great place.

Epic Fail! Made reservations 3 weeks in advance for large group. Seated us at 2 tables - FAIL Waited 53 minutes for entrees to arrive - FAIL Water dripping from ceiling while we ate - FAIL. This is probably the 6 or 7th time I have been here. If they have more than 2 tables seated at one time , be prepared to be disappointed this place cannot handle it! Save your money and eat elsewhere when in Lexington. I feel sorry for the waitstaff - they do a good job but the have poor kitchen and management support. Food was a 5 out of 10 when it did finally arrive. Again - save your time and money when in Lexington, go elsewhere!

My wife and are in Lexington for the weekend. Went there for lunch. Even though it was raining out, we got a table right by the window on the water. We had the seafood chowder that was exceptional. Big chunks of fish and a nice creamy stock. We also split a patty melt and fries. The patty melt was juicy but not too greasy. Good service also.

I've been three times. Never again. I had the chicken pesto quesadilla once, and it was basically a few tablespoons of filling in the center. Most of the "meal" was dry tortilla, so after the four center bites that actually had food in it, it was done. Next time I tried the flatbread, which was not crisp like it would be if they knew what they were doing. It was limp, flavorless mush. Such a shame, because I live locally and have for fifty plus years. Living on the lake, we entertain all the time and are constantly taking people out. I will never go back.

We stopped in last Saturday for lunch in between running a few errands around town. We got a great table right by the window and were able to watch the guys out on the lake do some ice fishing while we were eating lunch. The soup we had -- clam chowder -- was certainly a high note during our visit and we just had a nice time there. I found it odd that they were out of one of the beers we asked for but their menu has more then enough options on it. We always make a point to stop in for lunch and enjoy the view while you are there!

Great overall experience. Seated quickly and server was very nice. The 3 of us ordered French Onion soup, smothered chicken, and penne pasta. All were delicious and served in a timely manner. The bread was great too. No complaints here.

At the Windjammer in Lexington MI. Service is very good as well as the food! Would highly recommend for lunch as we have not tried their dinners. Prices are very reasonable for being right on Lake Huron at Lexington Harbor! Menu has a good variety. We will definitely return!

Food is as good as ever. Had 14 to dinner and all enjoyed the food. Perch was a family favorite as was the Munster Chicken. Great place for couples and family.

This is a MUST when in the area. Do not be deterred by the outside (looks like a dive) or even as you walk in (very dark), but as you approach the hostess you get a peak at the view- and know it's worth it. There's plenty of room on the deck and well worth the view. It was a little too warm for us, so we sat just inside right at the window. Christine was our server and she was excellent. The frozen margarita was absolutely excellent. The Sangria was also quite good. The Creole shrimp appetizer was delicious. The homemade, served warm, bread was yummy. The Rib Eye was super delicious. 12 oz - so definitely plan on a doggy bag, served with a plain baked potato (surprising - not a bacon bit or chive in sight ), the vegetable was corn on the cob (add a little butter and salt and it was delish). My husband had the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and he loved it. We almost ate up the road, in town. There are two particularly nice looking restaurants, but no view. We were on a mission to find something. Don't know why this didn't come up when we "yelp'd" for a restaurant lakeside. But glad we took the time to drive all the way down to the harbor. This place has its own parking so don't worry. I highly recommend.

Ordered the burger, it came out patty melt style which surprised me. It was good but wanted a burger bun. Shared friends grilled chicken sandwich, was quite delicious. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the marina and Lake Huron. We had a nice experience. Would def go back.

I would highly recommend this restaurant. We had a party of 5. Everyone had something different. Chicken sandwich, ceasar salad, sea scallops, whitefish, perch dinner. A good selection of sea food. The beer selection is excellent. Michigan beers as well as seasonal.

Stopped in with my family while on a boat trip. Great views and was a little concerned about going given reviews. Was very pleased with experience, staff was very friendly and service was great. The portobello mushroom app is outstanding. Their homemade bread is warm, fresh and very good. I had the Rib Eye steak which was very good, my son had the Salmon which was ok, my wife got the Ceasar with Salmon which was very good. Overall very nice experience and when we are in Lexington will be back.

Bad bad and bad. Tasteless burgers and pasta dishes priced way to high considering the quality. Waited 50 minutes after ordering for a couple of burgers and a pasta dish. Never again, do yourself a favor and stay away.

Third attempt to post a review, but in a word we four had an excellent meal with very fine service here. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The white fish fillets with light panco breading and lemon were excellent. The salads too were great; fresh, crisp, not overly dressed. Excellent.

Good and not so good . No water was offered to our group, the salad was not washed nor cut to bit size pieces, presentation of salad was bad, no dressing was offered. Bread should be served on cutting board, as people at table are handling food to much.Coffee was not offered, but had to be yelled out to the server.Boxes for take home was not offered, but had to be asked for. I will go back again, but maybe this review will help make this new business a little bit better. The decor is great.

I've eaten here several times now and, unfortunately, the quality continues on a slow decline. On our last visit, I had fish and it was not good. My friend had a pasta dish with seafood and that was just ok. The bread and seafood chowder are still good but that's hardly sufficient for a restaurant that's not even a year old. The food is very inconsistent. This place needs to take the quality up immediately!

Great food. We just had a beer and Salads, but top quality food, well presented quickly, and warm bread and butter brought to the table. The only issue *some* may have is this is at the Marina in Lexington, MI and someone the night we were there was BLASTING their music, which you could hear all over. No way around this, I guess - but know if you plan to dine outside like I did, this is possible. Otherwise - highly recommended.

Just a few bites form our full experience.. "A historic building from 1854 stood out because of its interesting veranda patio. We were a bit early; the restaurant opens at 9:30 am for clients not staying at the inn." "There was plenty of indoor space in small scattered rooms with brightly coloured artwork. The interior felt homey yet somehow trendy with a vintage twist to it." "..if there is ever an option to have slow roasted tomatoes as a side instead of home fries - do not pass on it. Juicy, chewy and fresh - these veggies tasted like sun-dried variety, but more flavourful."

I was with friends dropping their kids off at a nearby summer camp and we stopped to have a meal and a swim before heading home. We were so pleasantly surprised when we found the Windjammer. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the views inside are wonderful and the food is good. One friend has some pretty limited food options and the staff was really great about finding out the ingredients of the dishes. We all enjoyed our meals.

We just got back from a Sunday afternoon drive. We headed north and stopped here to eat lunch. The waitress was prompt, the bread was a hard bread but it was good. I had the fettuccine alfrado with shrimp and the house salad. All was good. Portions could have been larger. 5 shrimp for the alfrado. Joe had the steak which was cooked to perfection! The decor was fine, nothing too fancy. If it had been warmer outside we would have had lunch on the deck. All and all it was a good experience in dining..... I just wished for more shrimp!

I LOVE this place. I love the name, I love the vibe, I love the chowder (I crave it when I'm gone), the whole package works and I'd eat every meal here (and drink here all day) if I could during our weekends in Lexington. It's slim pickings in town so I say: thank goodness, for the 'jammer.

Excellent food and beautiful view but the decor is very tired. Certainly could use a coat of paint and updated flooring and walls. Service was very good.

We came out with a party of eight people. We made a reservation ahead of time so that we would get a seat. We requested to be sitting somewhere near the water or a window. However when we were seated we were put in as far away from the windows and water as possible. We mention this to the hostess and she said the person who took your reservation should never have told you that they would see you there. Also it took nearly one hour for us to get our food. As we had another event to attend to besides dinner and too hungry children with us this was quite a problem. Also we watched many tables that were seated after us get their food and even leave before we got our food. Once we got the food it was fairly tasty and everyone enjoyed their meals. Because the hostess was not very accommodating oreven apologetic about giving us poor seating in the service was slow we left disappointed

The food was delicious. The view of the water was lovely. We had great service. The Sunday brunch Buffet was excellent.

The Pasta I ordered look like soup. It took a long time for us to be seated or for the waitress to come to our table. I asked if my past it could be fixed all they did was dumped out all of the broth... Then I just had plain noodles without any Alfredo sauce. The waitress forgot to bring us our bill when I asked for it, I had to walk up to the cash register and pay. Because she forgot about us. I did not leave a tip... When I checked my bank account the bill was five dollars over.. I called management and they never got back to me. The food has gone downhill. The customer service is horrible. The only reason this place is open is because of the location.. I wouldn't waste my money here again.

My husband had the Pan Fried Lake Perch, served w Dill Tarter Sauce, it was excellent! Our server and bartender was Taylor. Shes a lovely, knowledgeable person. On her recommendation i chose the salad. Thank you Miss Taylor.
