Louie's Sports Tavern is attached to the Polar Palace Ice Arena....it seemed like it took them FOREVER to finally open but it was worth the wait! We go most often at lunchtime and the place is nearly deserted, however the daytime cook is absolutely amazing! Their chicken wings are HUGE and delicious, the quesadillas are out of this world, and the sandwiches are great. My dad says they have the best grilled cheese sandwiches on earth (they're good, but please); I'm partial to the BBQ Pork sandwich topped with cole slaw, but the true best is the Cuban Sandwich - chopped roast beef topped with shaved ham, then topped with swiss cheese, dill pickles, and mustard, served hot on a footlong flatbread! Ohhhhh heavenly, but too much for one person to eat. Either plan to take half home for later or share with a friend. Prices are very reasonable: $4.95 for 6 wings, and most other dishes are under $10. We've also had the pizza: deep dish "Chicago style" was terrific (also ginormous and extremely filling) but the "New York" style wasn't as good. I think we were there on an off-day, it was the day after a Wings game and both the servers and cooks were really not all there. Although we mainly go at lunchtime, we've stopped by a few times to watch a game in the evening and the place is REALLY jumping - crowded, loud, and fun. Flat-screen TV's are everywhere you look, they have a fully-stocked bar, and the service is still pretty good! If you're anywhere near Lapeer, you really have to give it a try - Louie's is AWESOME!

Consistently poor service. The food is "okay" but I can't get past being sat, watching multiple waitresses walk by and not even being greeted for ten minutes. I can understand if they were busy but when we were one of 4 tables occupied in the restaurant it was disappointing. I have been here on multiple occasions and the service is a huge downfall of what could be a good restaurant.

It was a Sunday afternoon. I ordered the marinated steak quesadilla. It didn't taste marinated at all. Was quite bland and dry. I didn't hate it but I hated paying $8.99 for it. Was not an $8.99 dish. My husband had the meat loaf. It lacked of taste, was dry and found a little piece of cardboard paper in it. Our friends had bloody marys and they had no garnishes. The waitress was very nice, the atmosphere was nice. Maybe it was an off day for the place but none of the 4 of us were impressed. They need to brush up on their food preparation or lower their prices, in my opinion.
