Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

A great addition to Old Town! They have an excellent lineup of local craft beers on draft, and even wine and beer for take away. The decor and ambience is nice. Staff is usually as friendly as is required and there is a nice, mix in the crowd: younger, older, hipsters, professionals. One minor downside is the price, but good beers should cost a little more. Fairly limited food menu. They also have fun outdoor events when it's warm, including move and hot dog nights!

This place doesn't seem like it should exist in Lansing. We finally have an alternative bar! I feel like I can go here as an upper twenty year old and hang out with people my age. The beer selection is pretty good, great wines, and terrific mixed drinks (possibly the best in town). The only ding it gets from me is the spotty service you get at the bar. Sometimes they're good and want to pour you a drink, but too many times they don't even want to acknowledge that you're there. Still, I always love coming here for the atmosphere, the people, and the great drink options.

The bar is very inviting. Cozy with comfortable seats. Crowd is around 30ish. It is a very good place to enjoy conversations with friends. Waitress did not interrupt every five minute to ask if everything was fine. I gave three stars because the prices for beers are extremely high. Range is between $5 to $12 for pints. Of course most of the beers are closer to the $12. Two pints for me were $17. I think it is too much. I do understand they offer a variety of interesting beers, but I can find something similar at much cheaper cost. Beers menu is written on a board. They give a nice description of the type of beers, but no prices are listed. Kind of annoying to ask the waitress the price of each beer. If you are a group of friends who wants to enjoy a conversation and do not care of the cost, go there.

I was visiting from out of town with my husband, a friend recommended we meet up at Zoobies - at first glance when pulling up to the bar I was a bit worried and didn't know what we were in for, but once we walked in we were pleasantly surprised. This bar is great! It has a very chill, almost old worldly feel to it. I was happy to see I wasn't over or under dressed - I don't think thats possible here. The staff was amazing - I loved the fact that they don't have servers and instead its 'walk up service.' The drink selection was top notch, and although they don't have a lot of food options, what they do have they do well. We get back to Lansing about 2-3 times a year and this is definitely being added to the must visit list.

Great place for a beer if you like good beer and a professional crowd. Not your place if you want to drink bud light with some frat boys and fight, but if you are a business professional looking to end the day in style and meet some new friends this is your place. Free popcorn and a pretty good wine list. A+ for me.

Well....its new. And its great that a new business has come and reopened this old vacant building...that being said I felt the decor needs to warm up some...be more relaxing and cozy. Dim the lights and enhance the character and charm a bit...perhaps they already have this in mind?! But we enjoyed the good service and drinks and will be back to support their efforts.

This place is hipster at it's best. Not pretentious or over-done. Sit out side in the back when the inside is crowded; it's a whole different vibe.
(4)Jess H.
Visited while meeting new friends in the area. There was a nice, detailed draft selection of craft beers and a full menu of other drinks. Nice cozy spot. I was told that this place can get very busy during sports games, so that may nor be the best timer to come.

zoobie's is a great bar that i have already been to three times. melissa was telling me that i needed to go here before i even moved here so i was really excited about it. they have an excellent beer list (i know i keep saying this about every place but i'm not over it). they have delicious craft cocktails which is super exciting for me of course. and they have truffle oil popcorn! not much other food, but you can gorge yourself on this shit and die happy as your heart gasps its last artery clogged breaths. zoobie's is low key without being a hole in the wall. i am thinking that the people who hang out there are lansing's brand of hipsters, which are a lot less annoying than cincinnati's brand of hipsters. they also do interesting things like one night when i was there with matt and melissa we ended up in a connect four tournament. of course i could not figure out how to play even after having it explained to me like five times and i lost in the first round. but a good time was had by all. or if i want to avoid the wrath of english teachers everywhere, all had a good time. there is not much else that needs to be said about this place but it is a great place to hang out and it's always somewhat busy but never too busy (says the person who first went there a week ago). zoobie's has lots of visits from me to look forward to/try to avoid at all costs.

I don't even live in close proximity to Zoobie's, and I'm still a regular. I bring my out-of-town friends, show up to write (and use the Wi-Fi), and use it as a meeting place for my bi-monthly knitting group. Zoobie's was apparently an Old Town fixture many years ago, and it was recently (within the past few years) renovated and reopened. It looks a little bit like a hole from the outside, particularly given the location, but the interior reflects its eclectic, storied past. It's small and narrow, and it can get pretty noisy on busy nights, but it's comfortable. Cozy. The owners and staff are fun and remember the folks who visit often (hi, Mimi!), and they seem dedicated to the notion that a local bar can be welcoming to everyone without dipping a toe into seedy territory. In short, I never feel uncomfortable there. I never feel unsafe. The patrons include a curious mix of off-the-beaten-path students, townies, hipsters, and older professionals. There's also a great patio out back that's dog friendly. There isn't much in the way of food (beyond nibbles and truffled popcorn), but they're working to change that. If you check the Zoobie's Facebook or Twitter feed, they'll let you know when Chef Dan is grilling out back. They're apparently leading up to the opening of Cosmos, the pizza place next door. (From what I gather, they'll be renovating and expanding the bar as well.) Drinks are great. There's a huge chalkboard inside that lists all the beers on tap (with a healthy showing of Michigan favorites) and on deck. If you don't like anything on draft, they also have an extensive wine and bottled/canned beer list. There's a full bar, too, but I generally stick to what's on draft. (I am, however, partial to Moscow Mules and the vodka-soaked gummy bears.) If there's something you'd like to try, just ask at the bar--they're generally happy to pour you a taste.

100% pure bar, but a bar with high end tastes. Excellent beer selection, eclectic mixed drinks, and affordable popcorn to boot. Clean, friendly interior. They just need a few plants in the beer garden. :)

I stumbled on this place after eating a couple blocks away at a Mexican restaurant called Pablo's. Zoobie's has an amazing selection of Michigan craft brews on tap. It was quite a shock based on the rather unassuming exterior, I was expecting a typical bar, featuring both Bud and Bud light, and hoping for a least one decent beer on tap. What a treat ... a great beer bar in Old Town! It was pretty pretty packed when I visited on a Thursday night, but it was a good crowd.
(5)Raymond G.
It was a dive bar but sometime in the last year it turned into a trendy hipster joint with good beers, wine and fancy cocktails. I would say possibly the hippest bar in Lansing. Total ripoff of every bar in Chicago.
(5)Ed S.
Management please help. We have been to Zoobies a couple times. Both times, horrible service. The last time we went we sat for 10 minutes waiting ... Probably about 6 people in the bar. One of the bartenders walked by us multiple times busting tables. He turned off the sign and closed the door, never said one word to us. My boyfriend got up and asked if they were closing, confirmed by another staff that they were closing. Really? 10 minutes and you couldn't take a second to tell us your closing? Not a stop we care to do again.
(1)Joshua R.
We walked in then looked at one another and smiled. Not too loud and not too quiet. Great selection of 10-12 beers on draught, most from MI (including Founder's, Dark House, New Holland). Bell's wasn't available on draught but was in a bottle. There was a selection of some bar snacks, which looked good, but we didn't try. We ended up staying for about two hours after a relaxing, fun time. Great addition to Old Town (and Lansing). We're already making plans to return.

Meh. I personally feel like they are missing the point. Others seem to like it though. Ive been in several times and have yet to come across a decent bartender. They certianly dont have any spark or personality to speak of. Very unimpressive. Its never busy in here. I guess thats why they open late and close early. But seriously if me and a few friends are enjoying a few cocktails and spending money dont close down at 1230. You dont even have a cook to pay. And if we want to watch a game with the other 5 people in the bar and the bartender has tried to uncomfortable tell us that owner wants cartoons on put the stupid game on duh. Which the bartender did do. Only to have a manager or maybe the owner walk in and not say a single word to any one and fliped the game back to stupid cartoons. I guess to seem ironic. I have no idea. The setting is trying to be hip I guess but again its just not exactly right. To bright and average feeling in there.

They have Sailor Jerrys rum here. That in itself gives them legit status! Very cool vibe. Nice addition to Old Town. Great craft beer selection. Limited food, but a nice touch just in case. Definitely worth a try!
(4)Carman L.
Favorite bar in Lansing. Great chill atmosphere. Has a very welcoming vibe. Plus, the draft list is stellar.
(5)Rion H.
Excellent service and great drink selection. Eclectic mix of people. Great place to spend a Saturday night!!
(5)Cody F.
wonderful place in a great location. bartender's have a horrible attitude made us feel very unwelcome. would not recommend it. was much better back in the day then it is now. I should have read these reviews before we went. if you are ever in old town they're are much better places to hang out.
(1)Rachel B.
Neighborhood bar on sophisticated steroids: carefully curated rotating taps & a better list of vino than all but the white tablecloths and wine bars in town. Food choices are limited, but you can't go wrong with truffle oil popcorn. Staff is generally warm, with some definite standouts, but all bartenders are knowledgeable and innovative. The best part about Zoobie's is the crowd/atmosphere. On any given night you'll Old Town residents & merchants, students from LCC & MSU, local professionals, and regulars from before the bar's renovation - can strike up a conversation with just about anyone.
(5)James A.
This is the flagship bar in the Old Town district... Every night you will see a dedicated group of regulars, from all walks of life, who are drawn together by the love of excellent beer, exquisite wine, and damn good cocktails... It's not a bar, it's a landmark...
(5)Joshua W.
Great service, phenomenal craft beer, if cocktails are your thing this is the place to go. Attached to Cosmos Pizzas, you're able to order anything off there menu, which is a huge plus, Zoobies also has a great patio with hops growing on the fence a grassed in area for lawn games. This place is one of my favorites, for sure.
(5)Margaret O.
I've enjoyed lots of time at Zoobie's and I will always love coming here for Duck-fat Fries, artisan pizzas, micro-brews, and quality mixed drinks. It is a small and popular place (despite opening up the back patio) getting crowded quickly at the usual times which makes it difficult to hear in large group conversations. For intimate conversation, I recommend coming here during the off hours. I will definitely keep coming back!
(4)Betsy A.
Good neighborhood drinking spot! Stick with the drinks here... the food's a bit lackluster... the 'truffle oil popcorn' is really canola oil popcorn with a ton of salt. A little bit pricier than Hop Cat ($13 for 2 on-tap beers); but it's a cozier atmosphere here. Great for chatting in small groups. If I don't want to go to Hop Cat for the ump-teenth time, this place is certainly a great change of pace. Nice, casual place... certainly not a dive bar.
(4)Jeff S.
Excellent craft cocktails and wide selection of beer and a great after work crowd during the week. The truffle oil popcorn is a tasty treat (if you like truffle oil).

I'm shocked I haven't reviewed this place. My first visit 2013 NYE! This place filled up and it was thick but we all had a ball. It's a cozy joint but I still don't mind being packed with the people that come here. One wall of the bar is lined with a long wooden bench with a chalk board menu decorating the wall. There is the sitting bar on the opposing side stretching only 's of the bench. In between: a few 2 tops, sturdy comfortable chairs and a high top 6 seat. I never have a problem getting a drink of any type in this place. All staff is busy but I never wait very long for service. The quality of their gourmet drinks makes me want a cocktail for taste. I typically order the same thing, an Old Fashion with their delicious cherries. I am eager to try one of their many beers! Crafts, Imports and Local Brews oh my. (I know I'm corny.) I've been told they now have a dining menu. I've only ever had their truffle butter popcorn and although not necessary, I now want all my popcorn with truffle butter. Just kidding, I'm working poor. The mood is relaxed with dim lights, it's not a pretentious type of place. You can come in slacks or sweats and feel comfortable. Oh and for it to be smaller, there is A LOT of parking. punny

LOVE the drink menu! There's always something new & different to try. The patio is wonderful & the truffle popcorn is divine

We were looking for a place just like this. Having recently moved from Milwaukee to Lansing, we understood that we would not be in for a similar bar scene. We had done our best to acclimate to Lansing's offerings but we still yearned for something that would remind us of our beloved previous home. Enter Zoobies. We initially came across Zoobies through Yelp and Google searches and it seemed that it could be a place we would enjoy. And it is. On a bit of a whim, we decided that we finally had to go to Zoobies. We ordered cocktails (a Pickletini and a rye drink) and the truffle popcorn. The cocktails were great and carefully made. The popcorn, though simple in concept and preparation, was quite delicious and thankfully a healthy serving. The atmosphere and general decor very much fit the feel and look of some of our favorite locations across the lake and made for a very comfortable ambiance. We plan to be back many times.

Great food. Super fun menu and service is excellent.
(5)Tyler K.
The patio was fun and colorful. We can't wait till it warms up enough to enjoy it more. The boozy slushy was super tasty.
(4)Amber V.
It turns out I was wrong about the premixed drinks. Aaron, one of the owners, very nicely cleared up the misunderstanding. I'm looking forward to trying some next time I visit.

Zoobie's is the bar with the cool 50's atomic sign out front. The bar just reopened (new ownership) and they appear to be building a pretty impressive beer menu. The first time my girlfriend and I went we met up with friends in Old Town and stopped in to drink. Our waitress was responsive, the beer was malty, and overall good times were had. I didn't try the food but my friends did, and they polished off their plates; so, no complaints to be had. I've been a few times since and I'm happy to see that they are becoming significantly more popular. I have never had any of th problems other reviewers claim to have had with service. I always receive service timely and with a smile. Additionally, the crowd is very diverse, a few students, a few young professionals, some middle-aged locals, etc... Personally, I love that (it's also why I hate most of the E. Lansing bars). The bar has about a dozen beers on tap and approximately 35-45 beers available in total. They appear to have a good liquor selection; although I haven't throughly inspected it; but I will ;-) I've been craving a good beer bar following the demise of the "Travelers Club and Tuba Museum" (RIP), so this was an exciting find for me. I plan on going back with my friends. I suggest you try it too.
(5)Matt C.
Is there such a place as a hipster dive bar? I think there is, and Zoobie's embodies it. The interior is a mish-mash of eras with a solid kitschy feel that makes Zoobie's unique and fun to go to. They have a reasonable tap list and a very well stocked bar. Expect some of the best craft beers on the market, and cocktails that you cannot find anywhere else in the area.
(4)Megan K.
I went for the first time with some friends last night after they raved about it. I found it to be alright, nothing particularly special. However, I did not know they have craft cocktails because apparently they are either not listed on the menu or I couldn't find them. I would definitely like to try these. Some say this place is cozy. I didn't find the chairs to be very comfortable and literally I was sitting half at the adjacent table, half at our table. I think everyone at our table kept whacking each other in the legs. This place is pretty small and while they have made good use of the space, it's generally cramped. Overall the decor is rather monotone though I did find the light fixtures to be cool. There is only one bathroom for ladies and one for gentleman so be prepared to wait. There is no waitstaff, only bartenders, which is fine. The beer list is extensive but I don't particularly care for beer so I can't say much about that. They have many wines by the bottle and some by the glass. I got a glass of the Josh Cabernet and it was alright. As previously mentioned, I would have gotten a craft cocktail had I known they existed. The crowd is kind of odd. There are some hipsters folks, young professionals from the area. There are also some trashy type people hanging around. One guy was particularly drunk, wandered over to our table and said a racial slur to one of my friends. He kept engaging different tables and ended up storming out the back door but the bouncer never seemed to make a move to get rid of this nuisance. One really nice thing is that they partner with a cab company and get you home safe.
(3)Kevin S.
Fairly new bar where the hipsters hang out, and the after work crowd. So many city of Lansing bars seem to be dead. Most nights this place has a fairly decent crowd. The service mode is simple fast and straightforward, there is a walk up bar where you get order your beer directly from the bar and bartenders. There is minimal to no wait staff. This keeps costs low and is a good way to run a bar. Nothing is more annoying than waiting 10 minutes to wait for your drink from a over busy waiter. I hope and expect Zoobies to do well. It's setup is well thought out an unpretentious. It is not too big that even if it is not filled... you don't feel like your sitting in a big empty room... This is a mistake many of the downtown Lansing bars seem to make.
(5)R M.
It's local it's fun it's old town. Home town bar feel with great drinks and fun specials. They have free bratwurst Mondays......nuff said. The food is limited but they are making changes to that. Drinks are fresh and they have a great selection of beers on tap. If you can't have fun here you should go to preuss's pets and stick your head in the lion fish tank. Then stumble back to Zoobies and have the Caipirinha
(4)Mark W.
After one visit, I will definitely be returning. A very comfortable atmosphere for gathering with friends to share a story or two. Wide selection of craft beer & wine list means everyone's tastes can be met. Cheese platters and truffle oil popcorn provides a very tasty addition to your choice of beverage. My only surprise & disappointment is that you have to go up to the bar to reorder your drinks. It was not busy on the early evening I was there, so this has to be the norm. I prefer a server who keeps an eye on my glass & is present as soon as it is empty.
(4)Erin L.
I absolutely loved Zoobies when it first opened, but over time the beers have gotten outrageously expensive & they don't rotate often enough. the food they offer is sub par for the price. I miss the days when you could bring food in. It is clear that the profit margins here are increasing like crazy. I had high hopes for the pizza and was told it will be affordable, but we will see. I really miss what this bar once was just a short time ago.
(2)R. L.
Zoobie's is a warm, fun, and charming bar with amazing food and delicious drinks. In my opinion, this place perfectly represents the kind of character that Lansing should strive toward. Zoobie's attracts so many kinds of people because it has what everyone wants- tasteful options and a comfortable setting that is clean, welcoming, and has its own personality and established identity. What's not to love? Zoobie's is overall a great place to hang out and gives me hope for the future of Old Town's bar and food scene. Looking forward to The Cosmos!
