The hostess and manager had a several minute discussion in front of us on where to seat us in a half empty restaurant. Pretty lengthy to walk us 6 feet. They set a stack of three wet plates down for the four of us. The bread and rock hard butter were okay. The Texas Tonion was okay. Our sever told us the steaks were highly seasoned. My medium New York Strip came out almost well done as did my wife's medium-well steak. The steaks were about 1/2 an inch thick and covered in pepper. Nothing else, just a bunch of pepper. Our daughter's grilled cheese was thin and sad. Our other daughter ordered the chicken strips, they turned out to be the highlight of the meal. The second star is fully due to our waitress, Jackie (I think) who was attentive, friendly, and deserves to be serving better food. A mediocre meal at an unnecessary addition to the Lansing dining choices.

Lovely room, nicely decorated comfortable to be in. The food however left something to be desired. I ordered your own margarita , it came in a glass with no salt on the rim , which day gladly rectified. The new drink chain in a salted class with a big chip in it. Luckily I didn't cut my lip. They probably made a new drink and it was fine. The promise bread did not arrive until we have started our dinner. The Caesar salad may have been good if it had not been on brown lettuce. My ribeye steak and baked potato we're very good. But be aware the night we were there the cook cooked to the rare side so my medium rare steak was actually rare. Our server was obviously new and needed a little more experience.

1st time we have been here and we cannot complain. Our server Mandy was wonderful and the food was delicious! Our steaks were cooked to perfection. We left completely satisfied with leftovers for the next day.

So far so good. They've got a quirky policy of no beer and shot together (very un-Texan!! The manager made it happen for us though!) The food is good so far, Boston Lager Mussels were definitely one of the highlights, along with the bone in strip. Priced about the same as other national chain steakhouses, but definitely better.

First visit here, it's new. 10-15 minute wait for a table unless we wanted a high-top. We chose the high-top, which I was pleasantly surprised to find seated four comfortably. The decor is very chic for a steakhouse, contemporary with western accents. Very lovely inside. The mushroom appetizers were A+. I could have eaten them all night, they were so good. My ribeye was cooked to order and very flavorful. The fries were meh, adequate. Next time I'll try a different side. The Caesar salad and house salad (my friend's order) were both very good. Very cold beer, big selection. Friendly, fast service. I will go back again. We want to try those desserts!

It was my first time at one of these, and we had driven to Michigan from Toronto, so maybe I was easily impressed, but, YUM. +Really, really great steak. +Excellent, EXCELLENT service. +Not too expensive. + Everything we ate was great, including the enormous Cesar salads that came with our meals. Would for sure return. I know it's a chain, but it's a really good one!

Delicious food and drinks! Went here on Saturday, best steak ever! Great proportions! No need for steak sauce. Waitress Charlie was very nice and explained anything we had questions about. :)

Stopped by for a late lunch......excellent service and top notch food. The place was busy with 2 large parties of Red Hat ladies that looked as tho they could be a handful......but that didn't effect our food quality or service. I heard they had pretzel sticks but didn't see them on the menu....server told us while they are only served at dinner....he would see to it that they made us a batch. I'm a vegetarian so I just had soup and salad.....but my lunch guest had a prime rib sandwich, that looked like it could possibly 'convert' me! Very pleased.....We will return again.

As a practice, I tend not to review chain restaurants, but in a city where chain restaurants are king and new eateries are far and few between I thought I'd give some feedback on LongHorn. It appears the chain is just now starting to really sprout up all over Michigan. I've been to a LongHorn before nearly ten years ago out of state. At the time, I was 18, penniless and loved Carls Jr. At the time, I remember really liking LongHorn then. As a savvier eater with better financial means now, I'd say that I probably wouldn't revisit LongHorn after my visit to their new location. It's not exactly bad cuisine (although we experienced two very disappointing items: do not order the Firecracker Chicken starter! Tastes like frozen chicken taquitos covered in way too much nacho cheese Dorito powder) but the service was scatter-brained and a bit unprofessional (heard waitstaff openly bickering over who gets to wait on the large group coming in presumably for the tip, our waiter disappeared for twenty minutes, etc) and for the price we received substandard fare and smaller portions (about $70 for two). At the end of the day, we get more bang for our dollar at the handful of other chain steakhouses that are all within 2 miles of LongHorn and way better service. I like the openness and decor, and the bar looked pretty nice, but nothing else blew us away.

Steak was pretty decent actually. Got the 30 oz porterhouse - on par with a decent chop house in a major city. Maybe it's a fluke, so will have to try it again.

Went here with 4 others one night for dinner. The prices are high and the service and quality is low! Started with the spinach dip as an appetizer, the cheese on top was burnt. The waitress forgot our bread you're supposed to get when you receive your drinks. I ordered the renegade 6oz steak med-well and was cooked med rare. 3 others ordered the same flat iron & stuffed portabella steak, all 3 steaks and portabella mushrooms were significantly different in sizes. I understand thickness will vary in size, however they were flat iron steaks. the total price for 5 meals was just over $100. They conveniently give you a tip chart at the bottom of your receipt at 15%, 18%, & 20%. The problem with that is, with the service our table received and others I seen, the tip chart is useless. Most of the waiter/waitress and other staff are from other local restaurants and should know what they're doing, but apparently not. When the manager stopped and asked how everything was, I stated about my under cooked steak, and the other issues, she didn't look surprised at all ( I'm guessing they have alot of compaints from others). I won't be dining there again.

We had a gift certificate and thought we would give it a try. I was expecting a typical chain steakhouse experience. It was less than typical. When we arrived we had to wait and there were 3 other parties waiting. That's understandable if it's a busy night. It wasn't. In fact when we were finally seated (about a 15 min wait) we noticed 11 empty booths and tables, not including the tables in the "bar" area. They do not take reservations so we couldn't figure out why there wasn't immediate seating and we were not the only ones puzzled. Our waitress was great and very attentive. The bread and butter were brought out and the butter was so cold you couldn't spread it. The bread was pre sliced but it looked as if someone gave up on it and sliced half way through then tore it the rest of the way. Some pieces had no crust in the bottom and other pieces had it's crust plus some. Perhaps they need to go through and sharpen some knives because the steak knives we DULL. I struggled to cut through my "medium rare" (it came rare and still cold in the middle) Porterhouse. The steak was heavily seasoned. It was almost like a crust of seasoning. I like mine more naturally flavored. The salad that comes with the meal was great. Lots of veggies, cheese and croutons. All very fresh. They have a nice selection of sides to choose from. We did order an appetizer. We chose the "tonion". We didn't care for the batter they used. I like the individual onion petals though and so did the kids. The star of our meals was the kids chicken tenders. Our 5 yr old raved about them. She gave my husband and I each a bite and they were some of the best we've had. Overall it wasn't a terrible experience. I will stick to non chain steakhouses though.

We have been here several times before and weren't extremely disappointed, this time was different. Waited a half an hour in an empty restaurant for a couple sandwiches at lunch. Asked the waitress to cancel the order as we didn't have time to eat it and had to get back to work, her response was "I was going to bring your food out right now and it was only 20 minutes". Won't be back.

I found the wait time between our salad and steak to be way too long. Service was ok but the waitress talked up the food too much to the point where it certainly didn't meet expectations. We ordered a porterhouse for two that I could have prepped better at home. It was ok just not really good. I'd rather go to Capital Prime.

Very unimpressed. It was 9:00 p. m. on a Friday. They weren't all that busy but still had to wait for them to clean a table even though there were several already clean tables available. Waitress took forever to show up and even longer to deliver our beers...left before they arrived.

A great place to come and get a steak.... The staff is excellent and the bar tenders keep you laughing... If you have a problem tell the manager and she will fix it right away.... Won't go to any other steak place in lansing..

This was easily the best steak I've ever eaten. The service was prompt and everything was made correctly. Everyone on my group loved eating here. The only down side are their prices, but you really do get what you pay for. I would not hesitate to come back again.

The map is incorrect. Longhorn Steakhouse is directly in front of the Lansing Mall on West Saginaw at Mall Drive.
