Do you like sourdough? Then come here for the Alaskan Sourdough Flapjacks! They're wonderfully sour, and the combination with the syrup will make your eyes cross! I never get anything else here. Enjoy!

I had the skillet breakfast i felt like it was lacking greatly. some half cooked hash browns and some ham and eggs with cheese. and that it doesnt seem to be seasoned or peppers or onions just boring. i went to the one near frandor saw it was busy and i knew it burnt down so i was thinking it had changed but nope. It doesnt seem like people realize they are eating okay food for a high price. but hey help yourself go to the Eaton place its in charlotte. if you think this place is good you will do backflips there.

Yeah, Flap Jack is pretty average, but it's a south Lansing staple - if there is such a thing. Great on a morning when you were out and about too late the night before and need a little pick me up. Yes, everyone who orders coffee receives it in a thermos and as someone who loves coffee and doesn't like relying on a waitress to bring it to me, I say, "bring on the thermos!" All of the options are pretty standard. I like the small breakfast skillet. Flap Jack *Shack* has been around for as long as I can remember and will hopefully be around for a long time to come.

Now that was a hearty omelette!

Three stars? Are you kidding? I love, love, love the skillet breakfast with ground sausage and I every so often crave it in New York. A large skillet filled with hash browns and mixed with sausage, topped with gooey cheese, and a egg however you want it. A heart attack on a skillet, but damn it's good! And....bottomless coffee with half and half because that's how we drink it in MI. I brought my Mom home some Flap Jacks (what we call pancakes) topped with cherries and whipped cream. Her usual which she loves. My boyfriend had Pumpkin Pancakes which he thought were just OK. I have been coming here since I was in High School and had several friends who worked here during our High School days. The have a reputation for paying their employees very crappy and stiffing them on tips. So I would say the management is not good. Our waitress was more than nice. I would probably give Flap Jacks another star if it wasn't for their bad reputation; but don't let that discourage you from coming here they have really great home style food.

Flap jacks is your average neighborhood diner with average food and free wi-fi (for paying customers). As soon I walked in I was greeted by the manager who immediately asked if I wanted some coffee and immediately brought me a thermos full of coffee. My order: 3 egg omelet with scrambled turkey+ peppers pancakes The pancakes and the omelet were just average. They did not have a variety of omelets like I'm used to seeing at other diners. I'd give the food a 3/5 and service 5/5

I still like their food but, if you don't get coffee to drink, you're stuck with water - they never ask what you'd like! Oh well, Saves on the bill & tip!

I live nearby and come here for breakfast...I get the 2eggs,2meat,and biscut n gravy......service is outstanding, even when they are busy...good coffee, and super tastey food. Give this place try. ;-)

I love flap jack! Such a good diner breakfast. The hash browns, omelettes, and skillet breakfasts are the food to order! If you get a large juice it's huge ~20 oz, and the servers are typically attentive. I like it since they leave a carafe of coffee on the table.

Half chicken joint, half diner, Flap Jack was clean and friendly enough, but the food was overpriced ( 8 bucks for an omelette and American fries cost 1.50 extra) and the coffee was terrible. My potatoes were hard ,almost raw. No attempt was made by the staff to fix the potatoes or take it off of my bill. It turned into a $12 breakfast that was memorable only because of how bad it was.

Horrible. The worst breakfast we have ever had. Nothing we got was good, and service was horrible. Cold food, with bad flavor.
