Not really sure why Eden Rock is super full/has a wait on weekend nights, the place is so generic. Definitely not worth the wait when they reach max capacity, which is often. The vibe is boring, the bartenders are unsocial and slow, the drinks are super soft, and the music is all over the place. It certainly is not the worst bar/dance floor in the Lansing/EL area, but I don't think Eden Rock has really found it's niche yet.

Great pizza for a great price, lots of good beer too.

I'm going to sadly have to downgrade my review to a three, which truly does pain me. As a vegetarian, I was thrilled by Eden Rock's menu which it first came out, but with several changes more recently, the only thing I can eat there now is pizza. Which is delicious, but it was not my favorite thing on the menu.I was told they no longer carry the veggie burger and don't plan to restock it, and they don't serve their out of this world mac n cheese anymore - although the chef said he'd be happy to make it. I feel like I'd have to call ahead for it, though. Sad.

Pizza is awesome and the service is good. The menu is super limited, and the veggie burger is a gross black bean paste. If you like pizza and beer you will be happy but I don't recommend trying anything else.

Great drinks... and that's where it ends. On a night where you could've literally thrown a football through the dining room unnoticed (that's how dead it was), we brought a family of 9 in for dinner. It was a solid 45 minutes before our order was even taken, at that time we had to re-do orders 3-4 times because they were supposedly out of or no longer carrying multiple dishes listed on the menu. When the food finally started coming out, it didn't come all at once; some dishes actually never made it to the table. More importantly, the food that did make it to the table was mostly prepared wrong and some was even cold. At this point the manager came over... she was as pleasant as she could be, and did offer $5 gift cards for each check (there was 2 separate checks). The meal continued, and we waited another 20 minutes for checks to get figured out; our server was a sweet girl, but clearly this was her first serving position. Overall, we were hoping for a little more explanation/make good at the end, but it never came. Terrible Food. Untrained Staff. Won't be back.

We ordered three pizzas at 6:10 p.m. on a Tuesday night. There were 10 people in the restaurant. Our waitress warned us that it takes a little longer for pizzas to be cooked "because we make them fresh." Five minutes later, the first pizza comes out. Thirty minutes later, the second pizza comes out. An hour later, the third pizza comes out. And they weren't worth the wait, and the restaurant didn't offer to take off anything from the bill. My personal kitchen -- which consists of me, a stove, an oven and a microwave -- is more equipped to serve people food than this place. No, I won't eat here again.

Zero stars. Worst experience ever. I ordered special blacken chicken with scallion rice and asparagus, I ordered water and I ordered beer. Beer came after fifteen minutes. Food for our party started to come out over an hour after ordering and was delivered over a thirty minute period of time. My dinner came out with chicken not blackened, white rice and a vegetable mix. I asked to speak to a manager. Another forty five minutes go by. I walk to the empty bar with my plate and ask to speak to a manager. Staff claims no manager available. Check comes on one bill even though wait staff claimed at the beginning that they would do individual check. A two and a half hour odyssey. Particularly unsatisfying because I did not eat. I don't understand why one would have to repeatedly ask for water when it should be on the table within the first five minutes of sitting down. Why is there no manager? Who is running the kitchen? Stop serving the special if you don't have ingredients. Infuriating.

The menu has greatly changed. It went to build your own Flatbread pizza to thai food. I'm excited to see another great thai place right downtown. Grouping soup, salad and an entree into the lunch menu is a cool idea and a great value. The service is very responsive even during peak lunch hour. However timing isn't great. We came to lunch with four and soup and salad came out for two people about 5 minutes before the rest of the table. I understand the difference in timing for main dishes but it seems a little odd for pre made starters. I ordered the main meal hot and every meal came out mild. The hot sauce was brought out later towards the end of the meal. I think with only two wait staff it really compromised the speed of service guests could receive. This is a welcome addition and can be a great place. I recommend adding more heat to the menu and maybe more hot sauce varieties. Also having more staff at lunch would be great. I do like the menu variety. The Tom yum soup was great and the value is awesome.

My co-workers and I came here for drinks before our reservation down the street. The atmosphere was awesome. Very trendy, hipster, rustic feel to it. It was about 6pm when we got there and the place was empty. I mean empty. I think it had to do with a couple of things, it was on a Monday and there was some event going on right outside for Halloween. The bartender was great. I think his name was Kyle. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered some mixed drinks and local beer on tap. Prices were fair. $4 Moscow mules with Titos! Would love to come back on a Friday or Saturday and see what kind of crowd this place gathers.

I was lured out to Lansing the other weekend with seeing an ole MSU figure skating buddy. My has Lansing both changed (at least for me since I was young when I moved) and not changed. Mostly, this all leads to a little bit of disappointment. When you're 21 everything is bright and shiny in downtown Lansing bars. When you turn 30 and come back from New York it's just a giant landslide. At least with the two places, this one being of one that I checked out. The craft beer list is phenomenal and the staff was pretty accommodating. That's about all that's good with the place. But HOLY HELL. The night life here is obnoxious. There was a man that had to be at least in his 40s-50s blowing a whistle around and screaming "IT'S MY BIRTHDAY, WHO'S BUYING ME A DRINK?!!!" He promptly got inebriated enough during my singular beer to give some bachelorette chick a lap dance. Then in corner b you have a herd of girls dancing around in a circle wearing hardly anything to cover their lovely lady lumps near the bathrooms, swilling their tallboys of bud light around. I'm not making any of this up. I couldn't. You have a wonderful craft list you can't find outside of Michigan. Take advantage of it. I had a phenomenal porter from Juno, Alaska, served in a mason jar. They serve food here but have no idea how it is nor can I check on its menu because apparently the website for the bar has expired. Wouldn't count on their pizzas so much either after reading other previous reviewers' sour moments. Most people when they arrive also at this place have no idea what the name of it is. I had at least 6 people ask me while I was sitting at a table trying to segregate myself away from the hot messes. My friend still swears that this place is more normal in the daytime. So I would suggest it for day drinking and a possible snack. But avoid this at all costs at night.

Love this place! The service is so nice and down to earth. The bartenders are great. Drinks are great. Food is yummy (limited items). I think the dinner/evening time atmosphere could use some warming up..feels kind of stark, cold, and not too comfy. It's a cool building though. Oh and I absolutely love the outdoor seating in the summer months. Sitting out there makes me feel like I'm in a city other than Lansing. The night life is really fun too and quite quite different from EL. Came back on a Saturday evening (~8pm) and the place was empty. Maybe it's due to the menu being pegged down to only appetizers. So, no more dinner menu here (the one you'll find online is wrong). I guess they are transitioning to more of a bar and less restaurant? Booo! It used to be a nice place to grab dinner and drinks... why go here when Tavern & Tap serves drinks AND food.

I can imagine this place being super awesome for super cool kids who are having their very first trip to the Capitol. Or for someone who eats nothing but pizza and salad. If you are not one of those people, I would avoid. Good beer selection, though!

Never again. After years of hearing tepid reviews of the Wild Beaver's successor on Washington Ave, I finally had an opportunity to try Eden Rock when a colleague invited me after work to beer & pizza. I was impressed by the beer list, but not by the service - my bartender was new (nearly every bartender here is "new") and had limited knowledge of the beer & menu; he also hovered over my dining companion and I without ever actually catering to our needs. All sins were forgiven, though, when my pizza arrived. The crust was crisp, the sauce was flavorful, the cheese and toppings were fresh. I've ordered this pizza a few more times and found it an excellent complement to a cold pint. If I could leave my review here, I'd give this Eden Rock a solid 3 stars, but my most recent (and horrid) experience came when trying off this place and its greatest strength. I walked in to Eden Rock last week and was surprised to find an older gentleman (owner? manager?) behind the bar. After placing an order for two pizzas to be picked up an hour later, he promptly walked away and failed to provide me with a total or even take my name/number. Upon my return the same bartender, engrossed in deep and meaningful conversation with a young coed, looked directly at me and continued with his chatter. After several minutes of standing, clearing my throat, and finally resigning myself to watching the MSU game, another bartender came and asked whether I needed help. As I was telling her that I'd already placed a takeout order, my older friend swooped over: "Two pizzas, got it". I received my order, checked the top box (in this dimly-lit cave) and promptly paid, only to get home and realize that one of the pies didn't even have cheese! Will never return here, and wouldn't suggest it to anyone.

I was skeptical about eating here (mostly because I think of this place as a club/bar), but the menu looked pretty decent, so I went with a friend to check it out for lunch. We got there and it was quiet. and dark. We took a table and our server came over and got our drinks. I was impressed by their beer list! I got a Whitsun and looked over the menu. I thought I knew what I wanted after looking online, but this menu was completely different! The one online must be their dinner menu, but they decided not to note that for some reason... The menu was VERY VERY limited. We decided to split a pizza. Asked for a side salad, and they don't have ANY sides. AT ALL. What in the world? The pizza was delicious. That, and the good service, are the only reasons I'm giving this place 2 stars. I probably won't go back:/

Great drinks but the server kept forgetting us to go talk to her friends, we started going to the bar for drinks. When we cashed out with the server (some red head foreign girl) she set the change down while our group was talking and when we didn't pick it up in the first 10 seconds must have assumed it was a tip and took it. We'll be back but if I see the red head we're going to make sure to sit at the bar.

My husband, a friend and I went there for dinner on a Thursday night. The place was pretty dead and only had one waitress and one bartender. We were expecting american food (burgers & pizza), but were told that Thai Princess has taken over the kitchen. This was difficult since my husband doesn't like Thai food. We ordered drinks and appetizers that he would eat (wings). The food was pretty solid and the drinks were ok, but the service was horrible. Our server never brought us refills and was underage, so she was unable to bring us drinks from the bar. The place just has a complete identity crisis and is overpriced for what they offer. We definitely won't be going here again.

Just a college bar in a cool building away from campus. Were out of a lot of stuff when I was there and the food menus is pretty limited. But if it's not to busy would be a fence place to hang out.
