This a newly opened restaurant. The boss is super nice, and the food is soooo good! This is our new favorite Chinese restaurant in Lansing now!!Haha! Only thing is, parking is not so conveninent, only one parking lot behind the restaurant, and it is not free before 6:00pm.

My husband and I noticed a new Chinese restaurant in our neighborhood and immediately tried it out. Turns out they'd JUST opened the day before! We were greeted warmly and had our pick of a delicious sushi bar. I had a veggie roll and my husband had several salmon rolls and praised how fresh they were. Their buffet also had authentic Chinese fare such as pig feet (husband also loved this). Upon taking a seat, one of the owners approached us and insisted on making us fresh food. He brought out plate after plate of more traditional "American" Chinese food staples: sweet & sour chicken, fried spring rolls, chicken with broccoli, a General Tso's style chicken, and our favorite: a dish the chef called pepper chicken (the flavor was incredible in this dish!). We also sampled some pork ribs, and those were delicious, too. Finally, to end our meal, we were brought out small bowls of warmed soy milk, lightly sweetened. The entire meal was a fun adventure! After talking to one of the owners, we found out they also offer dim sum, which we are excited to try in the future. The staff and atmosphere are very pleasant and we look forward to more meals here in the future!

Not impressed. Ordered delivery and the employee almost hung up the phone before getting my address. After we did hang up she then called me twice... Once to ask if this was my phone number (obviously) and then to ask if they were delivering to an apartment (that's why I said "apartment number...") we finally got our food and the delivery man barged his way into the apartment and when I opened up my sweet and sour chicken there was absolutely no sauce on it... Just plain chicken. Never again.

Pretty solid and very cheap. Chinese donuts, general tsos and bourbon chicken were all great. I was super hungry and ate all of it. Then Emily got Chinese donuts for the whole table. It was a great day.

Arguably the best Chinese dining experience in the area. Tea and bottled water are provided on the house, as well as soup (hot and sour or egg drop), usually served as soon as you sit down. Sometimes they also bring a plate of dumplings if the management is feeling generous. I have had the beef with broccoli and also the egg foo young. Egg foo young at China Flavor is the best I've had anywhere--it is served on a huge saucer and the dressing is superb--delicate, lightly sweet, and slightly sour. The last time I dined there, they also brought out ice cream and cubed watermelon as a palette cleanser after the meal (as well as the obligatory fortune cookie). The atmosphere is quaint and domestic, all the dishes are served on real porcelain plates and bowls, never styrofoam. The staff is extremely generous and friendly; almost over the top. I also really appreciate that they have an authentic Chinese menu IN ENGLISH. So many other places have an authentic menu only in Chinese, so I only see international guests getting the fancy dishes. Not the case at China Flavor--anyone can order anything! (Note: I have not ordered from the authentic menu yet because I'm way too scared).

The bf and I decided to try this newly opened Chinese place. Me and the bf went around 7 or 8p and I would suggest going when it's bright outside due to the sketchy area and it's metered parking. When we arrived the owner greeted us and sat us at a booth. He later came out and offered us complimentary soup which was very nice of him. I got the hot and sour soup which cost more but he ended up still giving me and the bf free soups. The soup was prob the best hot and sour soups I've tasted in lansing. Food: the owner actually suggested the spicy chicken and the beef hor fun which they were both delicious. We also decided on general tso's just to try it and that was good also. We also got mini shrimp balls which was yummy. Very good food and nice owners/service.

I went to SM and their espresso machine was down, so I figured I'd grab some lunch. Only $4.95! I ordered Tso's Chicken and it was very good, only a little spicy & sweet. My 2 yr old ate 2 bowls of the egg drop soup. The people here are so kind they even brought my little one some complimentary ice cream & watermelon.

Best Chinese in Lansing! We are so fortunate to have them in the neighborhood. We come here weekly and everything that we've ordered has been fresh and yummy!

Glad to have another quality restaurant in the neighborhood. We ordered traditional dishes because we didn't have a menu. It was delicious! Good portion size for the price. I tend to judge my Chinese restaurants on the ability to present a great Hot and Sour Soup - they nailed it! They have several items on the menu that are non-traditional which include squid, lamb and duck. I even saw a Braised Grouper on the menu we received with our order. Looking forward to experimenting here!

Newly opened and on the same block as the very good Asian Gourmet. What a time to be alive with a great chinese take-out place (Asian Gourmet) and a great dine-in place in the eastside neighborhood. Went with some friends and had a good experience. Food came out fast and was good. Service was excellent and attentive. Interior is much improved over the gone but missed Lamai's thai food.

Came back to visit MSU and a group of us were in the mood for Chinese. We ordered shrimp with lobster sauce (asked for dark sauce), beef with garlic sauce, Mongolian beef, chicken lomein, and almond chicken. All of them were terrific and I would order them again. I will definitely be back the next time I visit the area. We ordered the food for take out and everything was packaged nicely and ready to go for us when we came in. The people working, I assume owners, were very friendly. While we didn't eat there the place was clean and looks to have been recently remodeled. Would highly recommend it if you are looking for good Chinese food in a clean establishment.

Nice friendly people......quick service and AWESOME FOOD! What more could you ask for. Restaurant was clean....which in this area is hard to find. We parked in the back and walked up the sidewalk and they had the door propped open....I looked in to check out the kitchen....it was clean! That's a HUGE plus. The only thing I could complain about would be the musty smell as you walk in......but it's an old building and I am sure it has a really bad basement that floods. In the future, I will probably just do take out since musty smells bug me......but it won't stop me from ordering the food.

Four stars is dead on in my opinion - well above-average bordering excellent Chinese food but the four stars is fully factored in the service (including friendly staff/owner and delicious treats served while waiting for takeout!) and clean space that it's hard to believe was Lamai Thaai (delish but admit it--- it was dirty). If your an Eastsider or live downtown this should be considered for your go-to for Chinese takeout. Love the Kung pao squid and the hot and sour soup. Not a huge fan of the Singapore Street Noodles.
