Finest. To me, that word usually means somewhere along the lines of "first-class", "best", or "unmatched". Nothing that I experienced at Asia's Finest came remotely close to those definitions. Given the handicap that this Asian restaurant is located in the city of Lansing, MI, I gave the benefit of the doubt that this restaurant may not be up to par with other Asian restaurants that I have come across. The first indication that this restaurant may not be up to par comes to the fact that I need to refer to this restaurant as an "Asian" restaurant rather than say, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, etc. of which this restaurant claims to be. What's odd about Lansing is that even though it is the site of a major university, with an abundance of Asian international students, there are almost no authentic Asian restaurants within the city. There are plenty of grocery stores, but almost no restaurants. This review primarily concerns Asia's Finest's pho because that was the first and only thing I have tried at the restaurant and I have absolutely no intention of going back. I moved to the Lansing area from Portland, OR where there are an abundance of Vietnamese restaurants. I should preface the rest of this review with the fact that I am not Vietnamese. However, my wife is, and I have had my fair share of homemade Vietnamese food and can safely say that I can appropriately judge for quality. What can be said about the pho at Asia's Finest? Seriously. In desperate times, when I longed for the taste of a bowl of hot and savory bowl of pho and could not A) afford it or B) obtain it from a restaurant, I would go to the Asian grocery store across the street and buy a can of pre-made pho broth with noodles, meat, and usual fixins and attempt to the best of my ability to concoct what I have previously had. This had mild to moderate success. Once again, desperate times called for desperate measures after moving to Lansing and I decided to give Asia's Finest a shot after reading some raving reviews on Yelp. Now to cut to the chase and experiencing what I experienced at Asia's Finest, this has to be the most God-awful pho I have ever had. Absolutely. Unequivocally. How could a self-respecting restauranteur put out such an inferior product? To describe the broth only requires one abbreviation: MSG. A quote from Futurama comes to mind when recalling my experience: "That's the saltiest thing I ever tasted, and I once ate a big heaping bowl of salt!" There was absolutely no evidence of the usual spices that can be found in even the most basic of pho broth. Noodles were overcooked and in fact did not even use the correct type of noodles. What's startling is that I went to this restaurant with my wife and she spoke to our waiter in Vietnamese on whether he would recommend the pho. His reply was essentially, "don't order it". I have experienced other pho restaurants that had so much MSG that it gave me salt burns. Asia's Finest somehow was worse than that. At least the previous restaurant had pho with the proper flavors within it. This review is written primarily to refute the raving reviews I found on Yelp and to bring to light the fact that I can literally open up a can of pre-made pho broth, throw in noodles and meat, microwave it all, and still produce a better product than Asia's Finest. All this negativity has me all riled up. So what to do with your cravings should you be stuck in Lansing, MI? Well, the answer lies in how desperate are you to get pho? I have yet to find a proper spot in all of Michigan to attain a bowl of pho that can match homemade, or even the lowest Portland standards. However, the restaurant that I have found that can produce a decent bowl of pho would be Que Huong Restaurant located in Madison Heights. A full hour and twenty minute drive from Lansing. Believe you me, I have made that drive numerous times already. Like I said, desperate times call for desperate measures. If I could give no stars, I would.

Tried the Vietnamese on today's first visit. Very good noodle dish (V13). Ingredients were fresh, service fast and courteous, and the tableware was better than many fast Asian places I have been. Can't wait to explore the menu further on future lunch trips!

I will start off with something nice to say, the shrimp roll in rice paper was delicious at first.... The longer it sat, the chewier it became. In all fairness this was the first time I had this kind of roll so it could have been me! But the service for the rest of the meal was not delightful. Ordered chicken wings and they came out hard and tough, one wing out of the small batch was freshly cooked, huh? The sweet and sour shrimp came out sweet and greasy, I asked for fried rice, it came out white rice. Customer service was atrocious, I felt rushed, and robbed. This was not a good dining experience to say the least.

Really great pho, egg noodle soup, and banh mi. My boyfriend and I always come here when we're craving for delicious asian food (which is a high compliment, considering we live in Lansing). Plus it's very affordable. The only issue I have is the size of the banh mi and the bread they use (it makes me miss Lee's Sandwiches in SoCal), but otherwise, I still like the taste. Plus you can get 2 for $6.95! Really good deal. They've renovated their restaurant so their inside looks really clean and pristine. Great change! Also great service! This has always and continues to be our to good spot.

I love Pho and the spring roll. This is the first Vietnamese restaurant I have been to since I came to Michigan. But I definitely will come back! A little suggestion: the dip of the spring roll will be much better if you use the peanut butter mix.

Was super excited to find that a Vietnamese restaurant exists in Lansing! Unfortunately (and I'm not surprised), all the Vietnamese dishes are made with pork, beef broth, or fish broth... so nothing for vegetarians. Such a bummer! I guess I'm too used to the abundance of Vietnamese options in California. We ended up ordering off the Thai menu, but our food was just meh. The tofu wasn't cooked very well either. Nothing I would go out of my way to eat again. Friendly and timely service.

Over the past two years, I have come here for the pho in the middle of winter or summer, bundled up or dying from the heat. Sometimes nothing scratches that soup itch except a huge bowl of pho. Asia's Finest really does serve up a fine bowl, and you can customize it to get whatever you want: well-done beef flank, rare slices that cook in the broth, balls, etc. On the side is a generous heaping of cilantro, basil, and sprouts, plus a few slices of jalapeno and some lime wedges. It barely fits into the bowl, but that means you'll just have to eat to make room in there for more goodies! AF earns that 5th star because of the staff and the speed with which the food comes out. I never wait more than 5-10 minutes for my pho. The staff is a young, upbeat, friendly bunch who aim to please. A very efficient machine churning out some delicious food! Man, I want some pho now....

Spicy shrimp specialty not too special. Shrimp was breaded and not cooked right, vegetables in dish were completely different than described. Also threw in water chestnuts and bamboo shoots instead of mushrooms and celery as described. I ordered solely based on description and was disappointed, as it was not prepared as described. Spicy tomato sauce it was cooked in tasted like regular brown sauce, no special flavor. My husband enjoyed the Pho though. Low rating is for false representation and when I asked about discrepancy they just looked at me like they didn't understand the problem and then walked away, so low rating for poor customer service too.

Definitely one of my top places to enjoy pho! Not only is the pho phenomenal, but the bun dac biet is also a light summer dish that is just as good! I would definitely recommend this restaurant for big group gatherings or family dinners!

Been here a few times now and it's decent enough. Pad Thai tends to be heavy on the Tamarind giving it a more sour/tart taste than most. I'm not a fan of the use of tiny shrimp, either. Edible, but just misses the mark. The Crab Rangoons are really good with lots of crab and green onion. I'm not an expert on Pho, but it seemed ok. Definitely large portion. The Pad Ped has a nice flavor and was a fair size.

We stopped here for a quick bit on a Saturday afternoon. We were just passing through the area, and looking for something that was near the highway. This is a no frills restaurant that serves Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese dishes. Their menu ranges from authentic to americanized chinese, so there's something for everyone. The service was friendly and our food was really great - we had two vegetarian dishes - pad ped with tofu and broccoli and garlic sauce with tofu. we also ordered an order of their fresh rolls. Great, quick, inexpensive lunch option if ambience is not a requirement.

I have had Chinese food here that I was not crazy about, but their Pho is delicious! I ate there yesterday and it was so aromatic and tasty. I need another big bowl of Pho in my life!

TL:DR - Disjointed multi-cultural menu lacks focus amidst so many possible flavors. I've been to Asia's Finest a number of times now with co-workers who enjoy a trek here each week for lunch. I've decided to continue tagging along occasionally for the camaraderie and as the pho isn't horrible, the vietnamese spring rolls are decent and the fried rices are passable. Some of the other noodle, rice and soup dishes are rubbish altogether. BUT, I will agree with my co-workers that the Hot & Sour Soup they give gratis with a lunch order is actually rather good. On my most recent trip I decided to order some pho. I ordered chicken in a beef broth and it came out ok. The chicken was well prepared but the beef broth was thin tasting and lacked character. Maybe I'm judging too harshly, but generally my favorite pho dishes have had some depth which keeps me sipping the broth until it's gone, and Asia's Finest lacked that. I think the breadth of menu options spanning so many cultural palates had led to difficulties in the kitchen preparing a disjointed menu which while seemingly related lacks a cohesive palate texture from dish to dish.

This is in fact the finest Asian in town. The Chinese menu is fine, but we hardly go anywhere else for Thai and especially Vietnamese options. Eat in - it's not fancy, but the staff are prompt, personable, and attentive. You can take out, but why make such well-prepared pho or Thai noodles suffer?

The best option in Lansing for diners looking for a variety of Asian cuisine. Atmosphere: Plain, plain, plain; but very clean and pleasant when things get a little busy. You can find office workers on lunch, students looking to escape campus, and families with small children enjoying a meal here. Service is hit-or-miss and sometimes slow, but generally very friendly and helpful. Food: Just about about any Vietnamese, Chinese, or Thai dish you'd want. Chinese fare is a little plain, and their speciality seems to be the more authentic or complex dishes, but everything is fresh, hot, and tasty. Pho is an unbeatable deal for this area. Overall: A great option for diners with different tastes or those looking for a great deal on the South side of Lansing.

Just got their chicken pad thai the other day. OMG, it was so good! It wasn't some weird orange color, and it wasn't bland or overly sweet. The noodles were perfectly al dente, not mushy. The flavor was bright and a yummy combination of sour, sweet, and just a tiny bit spicy because we ordered it mild. The bean sprouts were fresh, and the chicken had grill marks (yum!). I haven't had pad thai in so long because so many places don't make it right (or, the way I like it, I suppose). But I was overjoyed that Asia's Finest made such good pad thai. I hope it wasn't a fluke. I'll have to go again to see if it's consistent.

After experiencing some of the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten, I'm updating this review and taking a star. The shrimp in lobster sauce may very well have been the worst thing that I've ever eaten. What makes this worse, is that we waited for 20 minutes after the other food was brought to the table! The pho and several of the other Vietnamese dishes are tasty, but the service here is unforgettable. If there was another Vietnamese joint in Lansing it would be really easy to never eat here again.

Diverse menu, fresh ingredients. Don't miss the pho! The decor could use a little updating - it is more like a cafeteria with artwork than a restaurant.

Got the combo Pho. Broth good but only had slices of beef and a 3 pieces of meat ball. Not that good of a deal for $8. "Combo" should have more ingredients like tripe, etc. Bean sprouts didn't look that fresh; the ends were brown and wilted. Good amount of Thai basil and cilantro.

I am not a Pho prophet. In fact, this was my first Pho. I am now a phan of Pho. The service here was good to very good on a busy Friday lunch. The ingredients they serve are fresh. We tried the Crab Rangoon and the Vietnamese Spring Roll. The spring roll looked wonderful - I should have taken a picture. I probably broke every Pho etiquette rule as I was unsure how to approach the raw veggies, etc. I dove in and it was delicious. Just be careful of the slices of pepper - very spicy. My Japanese colleagues ordered from the Chinese menu. They both enjoyed (one had the Pepper Steak, the other I'm not sure). Both dishes looked okay. The Jasmine Tea was a good choice. Bottom line, it was very good, reasonably priced, and came very close to the 5th star. I just wish it was close to my house.

Lansing's Finest I am sure.. Very tasty Pho. The largest bowl of pho for 7.00 I have ever seen. It was more like the kind of bowl you make a cake in. it was more than enough for two people. I was quite full and it was a great bowl. Asia's finest wasn't so fine in trying to scrimp on the veggies so I asked for more. One sprig of cilantro just won't do. All in all a good solid bowl of Pho.

I go primarily for the Pho Dac Biet :) Some of the broad flat noodles were delicious also though. Service ranges from awful to awesome depending on who your server is and how busy the restaurant is in general, which is rather unfortunate. I don't recommend ordering the Pho to-go though, the portion size seemed considerable smaller.

I am a regular here, for lunch and dinner. I think of all the restaurants, of any kind, this one beats them all. The pricing, service and quality are the best. I always get the pho, specifically pho tai, the one with rare beef. The broth is amazing--beefy with complexity from the spices but not overwhelming with a little tang to it. I love the combination of condiments they give you so you can customize each bite. It never gets boring. On occasion, I will try some Vietnamese noodle salads or the Thai options, but the pho is what is best.

Like many, my love for this place started as I quested to find a great bowl of pho. Well, this is the place in Lansing to get it, folks. Hot, fresh, lots of side "adds" and nice service from the staff, too. I can never finish all the pho; it comes in a massive bowl so if you're looking for a cheap meal to share, this can really be it, especially if you grab some spring rolls or another appetizer. My husband always gets the chicken fried rice and we mention, every time, how you can tell it's cooked fresh. Speaking of the cooking, things here brought out as they are cooked. You may not all be served at once but I think that's okay. Knowing my food isn't sitting around basking under a food lamp but rather brought out hot from the pan... That's grand.

Really good! It's inexpensive and quite delicious. We've never had a problem with any of the service. In fact, the last time we went, our server was able to give us helpful recommendations about several meals! They were also QUICK! Oh man the fried dumplings were so good. Normally we get pho, which is delicious. I like their pho. I have had one of the beef ones and also the one with pork, shrimp, and quail egg (which was my favorite). This time, I tried their gang musmun, which was pretty good. It was simple, but good. Mine was prepared with with medium spicing, and it wasn't too absurdly spicy; sometimes you have to be careful at these places. I'd go for the next spice level up next time.

The food was excellent in my opinion. I've never been here before but my first experience wasn't too bad. The staff aren't very attentive but ok. Overall the experience was ok I would say. I would possibly return to this restaurant in the future.

  • Frank R.

Everyone loves the pho here, but I find it disappointing and incomplete. I love pho! I make it myself and get it when ever I see it. I like my pho like I like my women; hot, spicy, complex, deep, nuanced, complete, exotic, surprising, unique, and satisfying. Its a romantic affair when I have good pho and I see my relationship with the place I am enjoying it like a marriage of sorts. Only death or distance do we part. After reading a few reviews about the pho, I had the craving for a discrete rendezvous at Asia's Finest . First, the good part. The broth was clear, indicating it was canned stock. I've made enough beef stock and have had it at much better restaurants and real beef stock is never clear. It also lacked the overall spice profile of cardamom, coriander, star anise, et al that makes pho so special. Whenever I order the pho dac biet, it usually comes with eye round, brisket, meat balls, beef tendon, and tripe. This version was missing the tendon and tripe. Now, you might say "Eww, who'd want to eat that anyway?" I WOULD! While they don't add a ton of flavor on their own, it is the texture of those two components that separates good pho from ordinary pho. The third strike was with the garnishes. I was told they didn't have basil. How could you have a restaurant that serves both Thai and Vietnamese food and not have basil?! That is inexcusable, I'm sorry. Aside from the disappointing pho, the service was very courteous and fast. My server apologized the pho took 5 minutes to get to my table. After tax, it was $8.50 so its a pretty cheap bowl of pho. The worst part is about this whole experience is that I will probably go back simply because its the only place in the Lansing Area that serves pho. Pho is also like pizza, even when its not good, its not that bad.

When their game is on, their pho is heavenly. Their Vietnamese is best, Thai second, and who would ever order fake Chinese here? Problem is, sometimes they're off, maybe the cook cans food on their day off or something, and on those days things are abysmal. If I could figure out the pattern I'd hang a neon sign out front warning people on bad days. But when they're on, and the pho is almost always on, they're the best.

Maybe I have just been spoiled by all the Pho and other Vietnamese food I have experienced in California...but this restaurant definitely did NOT match the reviews I had read on here beforehand. I read the reviews looking for a vietnamese restaurant to try in MI, and AF was raved by (all of the posters below). Their menu consists of Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai food. I showed up at 7:30pm with two of my friends. Upon stepping foot, I think I have entered a Chinese restaurant. There's Chinese posters and good luck charms and all that stuff around the restaurant. On the table are the typical chinese zodiac table sheets (make no mistake, this is a Vietnamese restaurant). I ordered the grilled pork chops with shredded pork skin over rice. My friend (avid searcher of good Pad Thai around the country) ordered pad thai and my other friend ordered the combination Pho. long story short: my pork chops were tough as cardboard. there was no spice or flavor to it. The pork skin was also super long, which I didn't like. my friend said his pad thai is easily the worst pad thai he has ever had. He has had pad thai in San Francisco, Berkeley, Chicago and New York. Pho broth was not flavorful (most important part of pho) and the meat was too tough to chew. so maybe I am just a tough critic, or AF really needs more competition (only vietnamese restaurant in Lansing?) and step up their game. They clearly wouldn't last as a business in California. my 2 cents.

This used to be my favorite restaurant for Vietnamese and Asian cuisine, but just like all of the good unique ones, they soon turn into just a normal mediocre restaurant (Changs... Not PF.. Is the only exception). I order Pho a traditional Vietnamese soup, with rare, thinly sliced beef. When I picked it up and began to prepare I noticed no beef. I searched the bags a second time, swished around the broth, and still nothing. I called and explained my situation, the girl checked with the kitchen, and asked if I checked the broth and I confirmed I had. She put me on hold again, during that time I investigated the broth again, this time with my chopsticks, and it was in there. That doesn't make sense, as I stated before this dish has Rare beef, and as u pour hot broth over top it cooks it just enough, and it remains tender. She returned to the phone and asked if I could return with the product. I told her I found it, but every other time I ordered (at least 50 times) this particular dish to go my meat always came on the side in its own zip lock Baggie. She assured me now that this was my fault and sent me on my way without even an apology. I didn't want anything for free, I did however, want it fixed and remade, because I didn't get what I paid for. I'm sure I'll go back, but only when I'm looking for common Chinese food, sweet & sour chicken, General Tso, all the main stream stuff, it's preset hard to screw those up. They do have great rice, other than that, I'd put it at Ing-credible standard.

This place is awesome for Pho. I lived out west in CA for a while and I worked at a Vietnamese restaurant. Since I moved back I found it hard to find some solid Vietnamese cuisine in the mid michigan area. This place definitly was the solid place I was looking for. First off portion size is great and they do keep things on the lines of "not too adventurous" for those who don't like "asian asian food". Pho broth is great and I must recommend the pho Thai. Vietnamese coffee is great and so is the Thai tea. Only thing I wish they would do is OPEN A LOCATION NEAR MSU!!!!!!!!

I wish there was another one of these closer to my house. This is really quite good and a lot of the similar restaurants in Lansing are not. The best part about Asia's Finest is that someone is actually cooking back there. By this I mean that this is not reheated 'food' that you might find at a lot of chain restaurants, or dishes mostly prepared by sysco that you get even at local restaurants. I have had the pho, but I don't think I'm a connoisseur like some of the other reviewers. I thought it was pretty good, fragrant and interesting spices, but pho for me usually just makes me wish I had a good caldo de pollo or pozole. but that's another review. I do keep going here for the Gang Mussman, Pad Se-ewe, spring rolls, and the Vietnamese dish that is cold noodles/fried pork/herbs/pork chop and vietnamese egg roll. I cannot remember the name. My son really likes the Chinese chicken and broccoli, which is sweet but not overly so. The atmosphere is decidedly strip-mall, but with food like this do you really care? I do not. ps. I do wish they had kids meals and the egg rolls are a bit too peppery. othewise awesome.

I was visiting family and decided to take them to this spot because they heart noodles and had no idea what pho was. The staff was very nice and attentive to boot.

I was searching Yelp! for take-out near my workplace & I stumbled upon Asia's Finest & also on the recommendation of a friend, decided to try it out. I love Chinese/Vietnamese takeout, and haven't found many places in the area that seem to "get it right"... Asia's Finest was fantastic and SUCH good prices for the amount of food you get! I had lunch for 2 days! The rangoons were incredibly generously portioned, as was the sweet and sour pork. I will absolutely be coming back to try more dishes!

I have travelled far and wide in search for the most delicious Asian food. Asians finest definitely ranks near the top. Their pho is remarkably flavorful and their menu is sufficiently expansive as to include food from china, Thailand, and Vietnam. On my first visit I had both the pho tai and the pad almond and nearly gobbled both up as though I were an addict trying to get his fix. Don't be decieved... pho may be soup, but it is a very complete dish, and while eating it, I would have been singing it's praises if I weren't too busy stuffing it in my face because it was so delicious. Readers of my reviews may not that I have a predisposition for asian food, and that shows in that I review most of the asian resturants in the area. Asia's Finest has taken the top of my favorites list in the Lansing area, and currently is the only resturant which I am willing to bestow with a 5 star review. The only negative aspect of my visit was that the waitperson smelled like needs some assistance with his hygene... but as long as he isn't the one cooking my food, this place is pure bliss.

I'm not sure if the restaurant has Asia's finest cuisine, but it is probably Lansing's finest Asian cuisine. Certainly, the best that I have had. DH and I dropped in for dinner due the other great yelp reviews. Glad we did. It was hot, so we didn't try the Pho, but we'll be back so I see it in our future. The Vietnamese spring rolls were wonderful. I prefer mine with peanut sauce and these came with a hoisin sauce but it was tasty and they do have peanut sauce on the menu - next time I'll see if they will sub it. Hubby had a Vietnamese cold noodle salad with pork and shrimp and an egg roll (that I can't remember the name of) - probably one of the best things I've eaten in a while - anywhere. Fresh ingredients, wonderful seasoning. Yum! I went for a Thai Pa-Nang curry that I new I liked and I'd say that it was one of the best I'd had anywhere.

I stopped into Asia's Finest the other day after reading some reviews and having a craving for decent Vietnamese food. I ordered the Pho Tai (egg noodles with slices of medium rare beef) and about 5-6 minutes later it was brought out to me in a big plastic bag - a lot of food for $7. I got home and opened up the bag and was a bit surprised to see what it contained - a plastic container full of cold broth and a styrofoam container with noodles, a baggie of raw beef, and some sprouts. Luckily I've had pho before and know how to prepare it - I just didn't expect that after paying for my dinner that I'd have to cook it too. I can't say that I was too pleased by that but it was certainly tasty. So just be wary if you order to-go.

We decided to try this place after reading the reviews on it which seemed to be decent. We ordered takeout and the food was horrible. Everything we got had pretty much no flavor at all and we did not even finish the soup because it was so bad. I recommend finding somewhere else!

If you have never had Pho before I would highly recommend trying it, specifically from Asia's Finest. Pho is a type of Vietnamese soup that consists of some sort of clear broth of unknown origins, shaved roast beef slices, rice noodles, bean sprouts, basil, cilantro, lime and jalapenos. The dish is eloquently simple consisting of the above mentioned ingredients yet the flavor combination is sublime. When you dine there look around and notice how many other people are eating massive bowls of soup (Pho). Asia's Finest definitely has the Pho market cornered here in the Lansing area!

Who would have ever thought South Lansing would ever have a restaurant that serves OUTSTANDING pho. The service is always quick, food consistently delicious and priced for a pretty cheap meal. This is one of those hidden must stop places in a town with some very unadventurous food options.

If you are on this side of Lansing, and need a fix for your favorite Asian cuisine, then Asia's Finest is for you! Not only does Asia's Fines have a great variety of foods, (Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai), but their food is also very satisfying. In my group of four, we each had a sample of the different Asian styles: Representing the great Red Dragon of China, Crab Rangoon started us off. Also for starters, we sampled Vietnamese spring rolls in peanut sauce which could barely compete with the Crab Rangoon. To round out our starters, the Thai Satay Chicken with peanut sauce met expectations and is certainly worth a try if spring rolls or Crab Rangoon don't do it for ya. For my meal, I ordered Pho with meatballs, my yardstick of pho. This was better than many places, but the noodles seemed a little more difficult to deal with, maybe because the pho was slightly oily. Also, the side plate of sprouts, lime, mint leaves, and peppers was plentiful, fresh, and brought on the side (as it should be for both dining-in or for take-out). The ambiance here was nothing special, but judged by the number of butts in the seats, it was also unnecessary to attract customers. The service was on par for this type of establishment, and the location easy to find. I'll be stopping here again more frequently now that I have tried it - solo or in a group.

Our order: crab rangoon, satay chicken, spring rolls, pho with rare steak, pho with meatballs, general tso's chicken, and a Thai chicken curry dish. Yep, there's a lot of variety here at Asia's Finest; you can find Chinese, Thai, AND Vietnamese dishes. Great variety that will please even the choosiest of eaters. Now onto the food: I ordered the crab rangoon as the appetizer. It was really good. The wrapper was crispy and the innards were creamy and crabby. I also tried the spring rolls; it could have used more Asian mints in it and the sauce could have had more peanut butter. The pho with rare steak that I ordered was pretty good. My noodles were nice and al dente, meat was tender, and the broth had a nice aroma. There wasn't enough meat though and the broth was a bit oily. But all in all, it was the perfect dish for a cold Michigan day like today. When I come back to Michigan for a visit, you betcha I'll be venturing here for my Vietnamese food fix.

Absolutely yummy! Only place in town you can get a bowl of pho. And my husband is head over heels for the pork chop. The food is cooked perfectly and prices are great. Only down fall is they don't have one closer to me. Please open one in East Lansing!!!!

First time tonight on the recommendation of a friend. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere. Vietnamese spring rolls are great and the cold noodle dish I had was EXCELLENT. We also had Pho and that was good also. I've been looking for Vietnamese food in Lansing for two years, and I'm glad we found it. We'll be back!!

Well this is now the only place to get Viet food in East Lansing which is sad cause its not close to campus, but when I do get a chance to go here it is wonderful!!! not the best viet food i've tasted but its pretty good. The pho needs a little more seasoning. The spring rolls are fresh and you must try the chicken wings! I know it sounds weird to order chicken wings but DO it! Its sooo wonderful :)

The best Pho Tai ever! Especially, I love the broth, which is deep and clear, so it helps resurrection after bad hangover. I go here at least once a week normally. If it rains or very chilly outside, the frequency is going up.

I went to Asia's Best based on the great reviews on yelp. I LOVE any kind of hot and sour soup when i saw the description of the Tom Yum soup i knew i would love it. It was everything i could have imagined. i asked for it to be medium spicy and it was delicious! i would definitely get it again! I then stayted to a basic sweet and sour chicken for my daughter and there were no complaints there. And that's really saying something because she's 4 and is VERY picky. I will definitely go back. I really want to try the PHO

Great authentic Vietnamese food. They stretch themselves a little thin with the Thai and Chinese food though, mediocre in that department.

Asia's Finest is really cool because it has Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai food all under one roof. I had a friend when I lived in lansing who was part of the Vietnamese club at MSU and he and his friends went to Asia's Finest for Pho all the time. My boyfriend and I gave it a try and it was great. I miss eating here so much and try to eat there every time I visit Lansing, which sadly, isnt often. My favorite dish so far is the Pad Se'ew which is a slightly spicy rice noodle with bits of scrambled egg and chicken with a sauce that sticks to the noodles. It's very good and the portions are huge. My bf always gets the Pho with strips of beef and ALWAYS puts way too much Sriracha in it... Must be a man thing... They serve the pho with a side of cilantro (i believe thats what it is) and sprouts that you can add into the pho. The spring rolls are also sooooo good. If I remember correctly they have bits of chicken inside of them. Mmmm I wish I had one right now. Prices are very reasonable but sometimes it takes awhile to get your food, depending on how busy they are. Try it!

  • Bobby K.

As one of the only few pho spots in Lansing, I was disappointed when the portions did not match the price. There isn't very much options for tripe and tendon like there are at other pho spots. The pad thai is a bit too "lemony" for my taste. Otherwise the servers are great and they have wonderful fortune cookies which is one of their most redeeming qualities.

Asia's Finest really earns its name. This place is awesome and I always try to get in a visit when I'm in the Lansing area. It doesn't look like much - just your typical strip mall Chinese restaurant from the outside - but the food is truly superior. The Pho is awesome and I love their curries, which you can get at whatever level of spiciness you desire. Spring rolls are hot, crunchy and not at all oily. The price is right and the service very friendly, but be warned this place can get packed at dinner time as everyone knows how good the food here is!

  • Jill M.

Yum. I really like Pho and Asia's Finest has it. Not only is it good, but it is the best Pho in town. The restaurant has a good size menu and the price is fair. I am looking forward to my next visit. Note that if you like your meat rare, you can ask for it to come on the side and place it in the hot broth yourself. The restaurant was clean and I didn't feel rushed to eat my meal. I tried the Egg Roll too and I was also good.

This is by far the best Vietnamese restaurant in south Lansing. My husband and I always order their summer rolls - it's pretty good. Their fried egg rolls are ok - I've had better. I usually get the rice dish w/ pork chops - not too bad (comes with lots of rice). Let's see the Pho Tai is great when it's cold outside - they give you lots of noodles. I have yet to try their Chinese and Thai cuisine.

We live in Holt, and Asia's Finest is our favorite Asian restaurant on this side of town. The food is good (we especially love their crab rangoons), it's priced reasonably, and there's usually enough left over for lunch the next day. We normally get takeout, but eating in is fine, too. The service is good, and the restaurant, while nothing fancy, is clean and pleasant.

My family is always interested in trying out local restaurants but somehow this one had slipped under our radar. We should have double checked here. This being our first visit we ordered pretty standard Chinese fare- house special lo mein, general tso's, crab rangoons and egg drop soup. Perhaps we came here on an off night, but I never realized it was possible to make a completely unappealing egg drop soup. It was quite bland and its texture was such that it was just south of being able to eat with a fork. Really the only thing that was above average out of our meal was the lo mein, and I'm not sure that that's enough to salvage this place for us. Having just come from Chinatown in a major metro area I was trying not to set my expectations too high, but while their Vietmanese fare might be very good there are better places in Lansing for Chinese fare.

  • Michelle L.

  • Althea L.

  • Matt C.

Working in Lansing and found this gem of a place. I live near a Vietnamese neighborhood and expected nothing but found some flavorful Pho along with a nice plate of Thai Fried Rice. Solid place to eat.

Decent food, but dirty restaurant and bad/rude service. I kept hearing amazing things about this place, so I gave it several tries. Was disappointed each visit.

Being from DC, I have tons of these places all around me and I have never had broth as good as it was here. I will definitely be going back before I leave.

I don't typically like restaurants that have multiple Asian styles in one but this place is pretty good. The menu is well laid out, service is good, and food all has great taste.

Super quick. Great pho. Iced coffee is so good, but filling with all the sweetened condensed milk. I'm a fan!

Try it!

Really didn't live up to the good reviews for us. The food and menu were average, but the food was just bland. Not bad, but definitely not special.
