Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.

This Applebees is now the best one in Lansing! We had thier two for 25.00. ...shrimp/chicken, it came out sizziling on the platter. The potatos were crunchy and perfect. even the chicken was moist and tasty. The service is great, theses guys got it down..Come back and try applebees again..

They've stepped their game up! Applebees now has more health conscious and low calorie options. They had a wide variety of small plates and other additions. The entrées are not just photos, the meals look and taste exactly how you'd imagine them. The lunch combos and other combo options are great for those who want variety, low calorie or variation in nutrient content. I've been at least 3 times in the last 2 months and Applebees is my new go to place, again. Their shrimp are big, and tasty not salty or chewy. The pasta is cooked to perfection and the hearty sandwiches are more than I thought I could taste in a sandwich.

The only reason I went here is because someone gave me a gift card. I'm not a fan of Applebee's at all. I rather eat mcdonalds and today's meal, I wish I just went to mcdonalds. I pick the trio platter. I picked the brew pub pretzels, the buffalo wings, and the steak quesadillas. The buffalo wings were beyond bland. there was absolutely no sauce. the only reason knew that they were buffalo wings is because that's what I ordered. I tried the steak quesadillas. Yuck!! It's not steak. It tasted like some type of cheap meat. it was chunks of beef that had no grilled flavor. I love pretzels! I love going and getting a nice soft pretzel but this thing was so salty. it came with beer cheese. Yuck no flavor. I didn't even finish the meal. Applebee's doesn't even deserve 1 star.

I actually give 3.5 stars... This Applebee's was above average due to its good servers and upbeat atmosphere. We came here for my mothers birthday supper in May '13. Our group had steaks, burger, Caesar Salad and of that those who had steak were actually pretty impressed with how good they were especially for the affordable prices. My burger was rather average as was the Caesar salad. Our appetizers were deep fried green beans, pretzel sticks and also artichoke dip... All were very good. One unique thing at Applebee's is their exotic drink selection... Fun choices priced fair and on a hot Spring evening they were fun to drink. I actually think we would enjoy going back!

Asparagus was way over cooked and chewy. My medium rare sirloin was hard to cut and over saturated with a pico/lemon dressing. The cooks need to go back to basic cooking 101. The waitress I had was good and knowledgeable!

No thank you! I went with my grandma and cousins for lunch on a weekend. First please seat anyone over 80 at an actual table and not a booth... Do you know how hard it is for the elderly to get around? Having to slide into a booth doesn't go so well. The service was just okay... Nothing to rave about, she was a bit slow on getting drinks refilled. The kitchen was incredibly slow. It definitely took way too long to receive our simple lunch items. The food was just ok... No real great flavors or quality ingredients. Granny liked it, but she likes the boring stuff. Not my first choice at all.

I came here because I got a $50 gift card. We went on New Year's Eve around 8. It was pretty busy. Our waitress was telling me and my friends her life story and was freaking out because the hostess added another table. Not professional at all. I ordered some type of appetizer, 2 long islands (they were $4) and a beer. Somehow that all came to $67. I didn't even wanna argue with the waitress because it took her an hour and a half just to get us the bill. I almost just walked out but I have a heart and decided to pay since it wasn't really her fault that they were busy. But the food was awful and cold. The beer was disgusting and it was from the very bottom of the keg. The only good thing is the Long Island. I would come here just for mixed drinks and that's it.

Such a friendly atmosphere here. Everyone is energetic. The hosts even open doors for you! They offer karaoke on Wednesday nights too.

The wait staff was very sincere and seemed genuinely concerned as to why I was crying violently into my sampler platter (Wings, Quesadillas, mozzarella Sticks) for over 45 minutes. This place offers a full bar- which I highly recommend.. The drink special of the day was an orange-mango-tini that came with a ridiculous straw that somehow made me very angry- although I drank 5 of them. The bartender made an executive decision to cut me off which I can't say I really agree with, but he made up for it by not charging me for the whiskey I "accidentally" launched at the wall of baseball bats and hockey jerseys when that song you used to play over and over came on the jukebox. The bathrooms were very clean with high quality toilet paper- not the cheap thin stuff you usually find in diners. I finished off my flask in the last stall and threw up all over the floor. Literally, within minutes- someone came in to clean it up. Wow. That's fast. Color me impressed. The manager said if I got off the floor and stopped crying he wouldn't call the cops and just get me a cab home. Talk about service... I would definitely eat here again.

eh. It's Applebees and it's a chain. You can do better. You should do better.

Had lunch at Applebee's again today. Tried the Nawlins Stir-fry, consisting of peppers and onions with chicken, shrimp and sausage. Spicy and very tasty. Served on rice. My guest ordered a drink. The bar wasn't busy but the bartender was a bit slow. Friendly service from Hannah, she put up with my guest's jokes quite nicely, and was patient with him, which I appreciated (he is elderly). He really enjoyed his drink, it was very large.

Applebee's is Applebee's, you know? We had the queso & chili dip which was good but it could be because we were starving. The quesadillas and kids meals were aight. I liked the black & blue cheese burger but the person who ordered it thought it was just okay. The sundaes were excellent according to the kids (shocker!lol). We brought family here who don't have Applebee's where they live and they liked it. Very convenient location and prices are decent.
(4)Tim M.
Ribs are terrible, but the service was very attentive and speedy. When they brought the check I waa surprised to find charges for things the menu led me to believe were included. Our server was new, and maybe did't know. Stick to the sides listed in the entree description and you'll probably be alright. Do NOT order the ribs!
