Lived by this restaurant for so long and I've never ate here until yesterday. It was great! Food was fast and delicious! The kids menu has awesome prices and the meals look great for kids. Impressed! The staff were super polite! Will definitely be here again.

Yummy place to eat when in Lake Michigan. We loved the steak, cod, and french onion dip.

Big Al's is not what I expected. They have a bar, but the place is an actual restaurant, not a dive bar. They have a large menu selection complete with steaks, seafood, ribs, sandwiches and Mexican dishes. They also had an amazing peanut butter pie. The employees were very friendly and they offered to change the tv station for us when we asked to watch the Olympics. The patrons were all very friendly as well. Long story short, big props to Big Al's. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but looks can be deceiving. Give 'me a shot if you're ever in Lake, MI.

Lake feels like Deliveranceville, and travelers may feel uneasy venturing off Business 10 onto this moribund little burgh's main street -- but Big Al's is a nice surprise; a clean, friendly bar where the food is the star. We hadn't been there in years, decided to stop in one evening when we were in the area...and while the economic downturn has affected Big Al's as much as any other rural business, we still got a decent meal. Good home-smoked ribs with what tasted like a bourbon-infused sauce; good bar burger. Our only complaints were a skimpy portion of onion rings and a fairly uninspiring (but fresh; I'll give them that) salad bar. Specials that day included frog leg, whitefish and N Y strip dinners; better than average choices for this area. We wouldn't make this a destination restaurant, but it serves reliable food, and the service is friendly.

Brittany at the bar was awesome. Had a shot that was 100 proof, ordered light lunch as well. Small but friendly :)
