Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

First time to this location and first time trying their pizza. Had the Stampede which is their deluxe. While there was a deluxe variety of toppings, the pizza reminded me of a Tombstone self bake pizza. The quality of toppings were just ok, cheese barely melted in the middle. Dessert pizzas on the other hand were perfect to finish the meal. On other visits, we only had chicken. Their fried chicken is done right, moist and is worth coming back for. During the lunch buffet, they kept the trough full of everything and service was great picking up plates. Four stars for chicken, half that for pizza.

A friend of mine is a fanatic fan of this place and she compelled me to come and eat there. The pizza, while plentiful and admittedly not vile, was the very definition of medicore. Salad bar was not bad though and the service was friendly and inviting. Food is edible, but that's about it.

The absolute best fried chicken anywhere near Grand Rapids. I know this is a pizza place but I go for the fried chicken. The pizza is very good as well and while the variety is not really what I care for, they will make you what you want. We have enjoyed all our visits here and will be sure to go back time and time again.

Staff is fantastic - very impressive! Pizza is average at best - I think the sauce and crust are to blame. The rest of the food is good. Overpriced in my opinion - not family friendly when my 70 pound 11 year old is charged as an adult.

I really love the fried Chicken here it is some of the best I have had at a buffet. The pizza is OK, not the best, not the worst. I would say it is better than Cicis. They will do buffet your way and make you any pizza you want and bring it to your table. The sides are usually good. The salad bar seems fresh, and the soups are good. My family goes about once a month because there is a little for everyone there.

This place is very nice visually and very clean. The staff is very good. In fact the only thing this place fails is the food. Lets start with the good: salad bar, mashed potatoes, corn, and desert was decent. The Bad: the pizza, ouch. Both red sauce pizzas and blt pizza were all below average to downright yucky. Next the fried chicken, not a good batter. Potato wedges not very good either. I definitely will NOT be back!

Pizza changes all the time. They keep the buffet full. I was surprised there weren't more pizzas without red sauce. (pizza sorta sucks - greasy, low quality toppings, red sauce is too sweet) They have a salad bar and dessert pizza bar. The dessert pizzas are super yummy. They have vanilla soft serve ice cream also. Great place for kids!

I have to admit that finding a place called "Pizza Ranch" wasn't really filling me with hope and hunger, however a friend of mine convinced me to try this Iowa-originated chain restaurant and I came away a believer. I got to visit on opening day, and was effusively greeted by every smiling staff member in sight, and whisked through the "pay for food" section of my experience rather quickly. Once you have your drink glass in hand you are treated to 4 different buffet stations - each loaded with different tasties. One full of fresh pizza (The Chicken Broccoli Alfredo is heavenly!), one with salad, one with dessert pizza, and the other one full of... well, Other! Fresh fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, corn, buttermilk biscuits... a smorgasbord of yum. The food was fresh, the drinks had free refills, and the servers were Johnny-on-the-spot clearing your spent plates away so you could go get more food. This is a great addition to Kentwood, and they even offer take out, and starting next week - Delivery! (Not of the buffet, of course. :D)

I try avoid places that insinuate that their customers are cattle (I'm looking at you Golden Corral). However, I made an exception today to try out Pizza Ranch. How Italian pizza and American cowboys go together, I'm not sure, but it looks like a western themed man-cave and smells like KFC inside. As the name suggests, the restaurant made to look like the wild west with various buffet stations scattered around. In addition to pizza, they offer fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, a salad bar, and dessert pizza. For the $10 all you can eat lunch buffet, I tried the BBQ chicken pizza, the cheese pizza, a piece of the fried chicken, and the cheesy breadsticks. Don't judge me- this is a buffet- I'm allowed to get that much food! They offer both thin and thick crust pizza and if your favorite pizza isn't up, I was told that I could request it be made special order. The best pizza I tried was actually the desert pie: I had the apple strudel pie with soft serve vanilla on it. I wouldn't say that the food here is artisan, either in quality or taste, but I left full. I'm not sure I'll make the 'ranch my go-to lunch spot, but I can see why others looking to fill up will make it a popular spot.

If you've ever been to Cicis pizza this is an upgraded version of that. It's not blow your sock off awesome but for the price and value it's good. Their fried chicken is tasty and their pizza is good. Some flavors are better than others. Service Is friendly and helpful. The dessert pizza is good too.

Pizza ranch staff was pleasant when we walked in, offered a ranch rewards card immediately. There was ample room to sit down and the buffet was attended to by multiple employees. The chicken was fresh and moist, and if you want a pizza you can request it from the staff.

We were there for the first time today for the dine in lunch buffet. Looked very clean and food was displayed well. We have eaten at other pizza ranch restaurants and all have been good. This time we encountered an issue with finding a human hair in the food. It eas no small one as it was blond to light brown and about 12 inches long. We called for the manager to come over and showed her what we found. She left to go to the kitchen and took a while to.come bsck bur she was not very customer service oriented and offered no apology or option to make things right. The yet another nanager came over and then a third but non.of them were very customer service oriented. While he did finally after a fashion refund one buffet he certainly did not do it with a smile and never did tell us to.come back. Finding a 12 inch hair in tbe food kind of took care of our sppetite

My wife and I ate at this place on yesterday ( 16/Feb/15 ); uuuggghhh!!!... not good at all. We tried the pizza, chicken, potatoes, corn, even the salad; none of it good. There wasn't much of a variety to choose from. We left our plates full of food. We even started filling a little sick after leaving. We don't recommend this place at all.

SO good!! If you have never been to a Pizza Ranch, this is the one to try! We have been to about 7 different ones in different states and we are so happy that they opened one here. Weekend buffet price is close to $11 but that includes a drink. There are 4 different buffet tables: salad bar with soup, dessert bar, pizza bar and fried chicken with mashed potatoes. Then they also have drinks, coffee and a soft ice cream machine. It was very clean and they have lots of staff around if you have questions and they come around and clear your table so your dirty plates don't stack up. Seriously---if you've never been=GO!! Also, Tuesday night is kids eat free night and they have 2 private rooms if you are looking for a place to have a get together.

Great chicken. Great service (this is true of almost every pizza ranch I've ever been to in multiple states). Decent pizza with fun toppings. Coffee. Atmosphere is fun and kid friendly.

Cannot be beat for the price! Meal and a drink for just both of 10 bucks. The facility is done up in the feel of the west with ample seating even at busy times. The selections include a full salad bar with very fresh product. Nothing looked soggy or stale. The pizza station is a dynamic selection of ever changing selections with 8 pizzas out at a time along with breadsticks. The final station has americAn classics like fried chicken, potatoes and gravy etc. small desert section with soft serve vanilla and pies. Fantastic eats for a great value! Highly recommended
