Uncle Ernie's serves up good diner food at reasonable prices. I've been here a few times now and have gotten then Dutch Hash each time. I don't think you can go wrong with any of their Hash options though. My wife and son typically get the pancakes which are also pretty good. For those into hot chocolate they offer up a pretty mean cup. We've never had to wait more than 20 minutes to get a table. They do a nice job of getting you in and out. Ernie's is a great option for those looking to grab a quick bite that won't break the bank.

They are a favorite for us. Friendly and fast as they can be. I love the hot chocolate so much I stop in a few times a week for a cup too go.

Hopefully Gail is your server. She's the best. Classic breakfast place. I enjoy that sort of greasy spoon breakfast diner, so if you don't you won't like this. I think it's great though.

Absolutely the best breakfast place in town. It doesn't look like much but the food is amazing. I haven't yet had anything I didn't thoroughly enjoy eating. There are several types of omelets that are to die for - perfectly cooked and prepared with fresh veggies. I especially enjoy the variety of pancakes: traditional buttermilk, whole wheat (my favorite!), and hearty buckwheat. The service here is superb. The servers and cashiers are always smiling and the offerings of refills on the yummy coffee is almost (but thankfully not quite!) overkill. The prices are also very affordable. For delicious bargains don't ignore the posted daily specials. Mmmmm, breakfast . . . !

LOTS of midwest charm at this place, that is for sure! It is like something straight out of a movie. The decor consists of a lot of red, white and blue... along with wood panel, outdated booths, and carpet. Not saying this is bad, just saying how very midwest it is of Uncle Ernie. The food is so afforable! This place draws a senior crowd early in the mornings on weekdays (again, nothing wrong with that, just trying to give you an idea of the atmosphere). HUGE portions, and the food actually tastes pretty good - not overflowing with unique flavor - but a greasy spoon place. You get the picture. Expect a wait on the weekends for brunch.

Great food, quick service. A community staple, especially on weekends.

Ate here twice recently while in town. Both times for breakfast. Fantastic food. Quick friendly service. A must visit place!

In fairness to the restaurant, I have only been there for breakfast but many times so I will rate them from what I have experienced over many years of egg, bacon and pancake eating. Service is always prompt and attentive, food is served hot and quickly. On the weekend, get there early or be prepared to have to wait. during your delay observe how a well managed restaurant functions, the waitstaff are in high gear and the kitchen is functioning like a dance on a typical Sat. or Sun. morning about 10. The big guy in the apron is the owner and spends most of his time in the kitchen. On a Tuesday morning 9:30 visit this week it was about 40% capacity and service was as usual, great! One thing we think they should change is have real butter for the pancakes etc. They have recently cleaned up and added a fresh coat of paint, it looked pretty good! Some day I must try lunch if my schedule allows but for now I am a fan of Uncle Ernie's breakfast

A very tasty breakfast, and one of the only places I know of that offers potato pancakes. The hash is good, too. The wait can be long if you show up between 9 and 11 on the weekend mornings, so try to get there early.

One of the best "local" breakfast joints I've ever come across. Authentic, without frills, and great service. Food was spectacular.

Stopped in here on the way home from a road trip as my buddy and I had a craving for pancakes. Glad we found this place! The food was fantastic but the ambiance was sub-par. It's spacious and has a pretty standard, hometown diner feel to it inside. That being said the locals there did shoot pretty judgmental looks at me and my friend since we're both tattooed/pierced up and walked in wearing head to toe black after a weekend of traveling to metal shows. Didn't really fit in... The price was right and the food was delicious. The short stack of pancakes (which includes 2 pancakes) was HUGE, and about $6! 2 dense, plate-sized pancakes served with a side of butter. I got the special Pumpkin Pie pancakes for fall, so they were also served with a large side of whipped cream. I'm pretty much a Leslie Knope when it comes to my love of whipped cream and breakfast food. Considering my ability to out eat most people, I was only able to finish half my pancakes! Pretty much unheard of for me. Although I will say the leftover pancakes made a good snack during the 6 hour drive I had to face afterward! The menu also had plenty of a la carte options for eggs and other sides -- if you have any room for things other than pancakes!

Great food, especially for the money. Friendly service. It's diner food. Nothing fancy. Hash browns! Pancakes! Too hard to decide, get both.

Wait staff is wonderful! Food was excellent. Corn beef hash is house made and the best I've ever tasted. Hash browns can be a little more crisp for me but I'm sure they would oblige. Clean and homey inside. Yum!

We were in the area for a soccer tournament. Omelet's were nicely cooked and all the ingredients were diced great. Had the country fried steak. Portion was perfect and the eggs were great. Nice hometown place. Would visit again if in area.

One of my favorite breakfast spots. I have never had a bad meal here. I'll keep it short and sweet: Get one of the hash dishes they offer. SO GOOD. I get the half portion, which is still so big that I can take half home for left overs. I love the Jr pancakes, too. The mister always gets an omelet here and has never been disappointed. Waits are short (if any), and food comes out fast. Service is good, coffee is hot and prices are great.

This is by far the worst breakfast place I've been to. The eggs tasted like they were from mcdonalds and overcooked, the bacon when specifically asked how to cook was undercooked. Also, the price for the amount of food you get is way too high for the standard breakfast. The claim to fame being their pancakes, were standard and nothing special. They only offered maple syrup. There was a bug in my wife's coffee and the waitress brushed it off as a coffee ground before going to get another cup. We will never return here.

Was staying on the east side and wanted breakfast before we hit the road. The choice came down to here or Derk's. Opted for here--maybe not the right choice. I ordered the Hunter's Omelette (ham/sausage/veggies/cheese). It was unfortunately rather dry and underfilled--the stuffings might have sufficed for a one-egg omelette, but not with three. It really was less an omelette than a bundle of dry, browned-over scrambled eggs. However, my wife said her fried eggs were good. And the hash browns we ordered extra crispy came that way. The service was friendly and attentive, and our coffee cups were never empty. The experience left me hungry for a real omelette. And this morning, I made one. (queso fresco, topped with green salsa. couldn't find chorizo at the store yesterday, which would have made it a 5 star breakfast). More and more, I'm getting the feeling this is an item I shouldn't outsource.

Welcome to the worlds best pancakes. I came across this spot awhile ago and I find myself coming back at least twice a week. One of my favorite foods is a pancake, and they do it better than anyone else. The staff is always friendly and quick to get you what you need. Come early on the weekends, as this spot has been discovered by quite a lot of people. They has have great burgers at lunch time. In fact I am waiting on one now

Standard breakfast stuff, but I'd specifically come here if I wanted pancakes. They really are quite good. I like the buttermilk and the buckwheat. You can tell they've worked on the pancake recipes for a while. Prices are good and they occasionally have interesting specials. Definitely worth a try.

Typical diner-style restaurant in a strip mall, but this place is REALLY GOOD. My wife and I both had omelets. You can tell the difference when a cook uses really fresh eggs, and that difference was obvious. The best we've had in quite some time. We hit during a Saturday morning rush. Got seated promptly, good efficient service, food came out quickly. About the only thing bad I can say is that they have so many customers they tend to fill up the smallish parking lot.

Great local diner. The Farmer's Hash was very satisfying. They offer half orders of the hash, which comes with just 1 egg (very filling). I believe you can order non-breakfast items in the morning (like sandwiches and such). The service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is dated but clean. We look forward to our breakfasts here.

Traveling through the area and stopped here for breakfast. I had the western omelette with a side of fruit and bacon. All very good. Coffee was good and hot and the service was prompt and friendly.

One if the best places to have breakfast/brunch! The food is great and prices are very reasonable. Ask about the specials as they change frequently. They do a great job of serving and won't let your coffee get cold!

You can request items. I got buckwheat blackberry pancakes. Oh god, it cured my hangover. Coffee isn't that great. Lots of food and great service. Their scrambles are pretty good. Just make sure you get some pancakes when you are there. You will be happy you did.

Farmers Hash was great. Next time I might skip the cheese on top (Valveeta?) but the hash was good and portions generous. Coffee was very good. They grind their own beans.

This smallish strip-mall restaurant probably won't win any decorating awards, but it's clean and well kept. What makes this place great is a combination of food and service. Service was amazing, food is great. Seasonal pumpkin pancakes are tasty! Skip the nearby IHOP or Cracker Barrel - eat here!

I've been here several times when someone in our office chooses it as our weekly lunch. Not sure I understand the appeal of the place, I loveeee breakfast but it always disappoints. Pancakes and French toast come out burnt and you can tell there isn't any grill separation as they end up tasting like whatever else was cooked next to it (onions/hash browns etc). The bacon somehow turns out both burnt and raw. I've come to start skipping our weekly office lunch when this place is chosen and it makes me sad.
