4 Stars with an asterisk! Rykse's is a bakery and restaurant. By reading some other reviews I think others share my somewhat hesitant recommendation. What I mean is that I would give the bakery 5 stars. The cream pies are divine and the pumpkin cookies haunt my dreams. The restaurant is 3 stars. We went for brunch and the food was good...but...there is just a few things missing. Maybe it was because we were dining with a 2 year old but the service seemed slow. I eat out a lot so my expectations for place that charges more than 6 bucks for eggs and bacon is high. It just wasn't gelling from giving us the wrong kids menu, to not having enough table settings. Having broken down my 4 star rating in the end a restaurant where I can get a fresh, warm from the oven, ginormous cinnamon roll as a breakfast appetizer is a place that I will recommend for an occasional indulgence/experience/break from the normal.

I've been to Rykse's once and I fell in love. I got one of the scramblers with avocado and feta cheese, and the waitress also pulled off getting me just one blueberry/raspberry/granola pancake as my bread choice to sample. She wasn't supposed to do that, but she did and it was the most delicious thing I've ever tasted. Coffee mugs were huge so I wasn't constantly waiting on refills and the coffee was nice and strong! Definitely would love to go back and I've been trying, I just really wish they were open a little later! Can't have it all though!

I'm new to the area, this place is wonderful. Fresh, homemade and delicious. The hours are short, only breakfast and lunch. Our waiter was attentive and very helpful. I strongly recommend eating here or minimally buying some baked goods in the store. And of course everyone mentions....cinnamon rolls are to die for.

The place is clean and neat. The food such as it is is well prepared. The acoustics are AWFUL! Trying to have lunch and the noise is almost unbareable. Forget having a quiet casual conversation here. The menu choices are scattered, eclectic and lack direction. Some are just plain wierd. While others are simple home style fare.

I only tried the cinnamon roll from a previous suggestion, but the local said it was the best and they did not let me down. They have a plethora of pastries and deserts. Will be coming back to try more. Must come to!

We used to come here a lot, but stopped because of a bad experience. Decided to try again as our car was being serviced next door. Right out of the gate an addition of a cinnamon roll that the menu states is $1, we were told "That will be $2.69", when we said the menu states $1 the waitress made a big deal about making an exception. Food was mediocre for almost $10 a person with no beverage.

What a lovely restaurant. The Lemon Cloud pie was as delectable as can be. It really was soft and light and fluffy, just like the cloud it is named for. This is a family friendly place with lovely service and friendly people. I enjoyed this pie so much. Three thumbs up.

Four stars for breakfast breaks down like this: Omelet - 3 stars; Baked goods - 5 stars; Service - 5 stars. Satisfactory omelet and good coffee, the bran muffin was delicious (got some cherry muffins to go). In fact, the whole bakery case looked terrific. The waiter was on top of all of his tables -- he seemed to be everywhere at once and left me wanting for absolutely nothing. Portions commensurate with the prices, but I'd lower the portion to lower the price a buck. All in all, I'll return with no hesitation.

This place was fine but nothing too special. It's got that family restaurant type of feel. The menu had some kind of unique dishes but the prices were a little high for the quality of food in my opinion. My dish was OK but I wouldn't order it again and I don't feel the need to go back soon. They have a bakery up front that looked nice, but I didn't have a chance to sample anything.

Good service and baked items. Standard breakfast. A little overpriced.

Coffee & toast while waiting for an oil change... and not much more. Haven't had a breakfast dish I would order again (my opinion this is more to do with the preparation than the recipe itself).

I've been coming here off and on for years and today found they have vastly reduced their menu - again. It was not clear what their sides were, and I had to ask if they had soup. The white chicken chili was good but not hot enough. I hesitate to order their sandwiches because the bread is so thick. My ongoing beef is their rest room: the ladies' is still dirty and vastly in need of updating! I don't go here nearly as much as I used to. Wish they would bring back the turkey reuben. They have all the ingredients, but refuse to make it if you request it. Not really after my business, and I'm not a big fan of sweets.

Leave room for their amazing and huge cinnamon buns!

Dear god do they make anything that is not amazing here? I love going with one of my good friends and we each order a different sandwich then trade half, best idea ever! Even their sides are amazing and have got me to try things I would not normally try and I now love. I have to stop and get stuff from their take out frequently! The chicken salad is so good, I love the California club, (even their bread is homemade and amazing, my favorite is the oatmeal bread) the broccoli salad is extra yummy, the cowboy caviar is addicting, anything chicken or turkey is so good it is better than homemade because I don't have to do the dishes after and tastes like it was made with the same love it is in my kitchen. All that and I have not mentioned dessert, believe me don't miss dessert here!!! Cream puffs with homemade chocolate sauce, fruit pies and cream pies that make you think of Sunday dinner at your grandmas house as they would certainly give her a run for her money... When blueberry season is here I have to go get a blueberry cream pie, they are so amazingly good, and surprise my parents as it is a favorite of theirs too. The Dutch know how to do it right they are a can't miss restaurant!!!!

Breakfast was excellent. Large portions, not greasy, huge cinnamon roll, excellent service with a smile. Coffee was pretty good, not awesome, but good enough. Prices fair, too. Family of 4 eats well for $25

Try the cinnamon roles. This place is the best breakfast I've ever had. We often take our car to the Toyota dealership down the road and walk here while we wait. Great family place!

Fantastic homemade food, hard to find a place that still makes all food from scratch. Give it a try and save room for desert. It is kind of like eating at your Grandmas house. Funky hours of operation would be only concern. Service is great.

This is the place for wonderful baked goods! Pricing is a bit high but the ingredients are fresh and the food is made from family recipes.
