Ouzos is fabulous! I had the tavern burger and truffle fries while my mom had the champagne chicken. We also shared the rice pudding. You absolutely have to have the rice pudding, it outshines any others I've ever had. I think for the quality the prices are quite reasonable.

I'm always impressed with the food and service at Ouzo's. Everything I've tried on the Greek inspired menu has been delicious. The atmosphere is great. As you can see from the photos, this restaurant is in an old building and retains much of it's original charm. I recommend you try the calamari, saganaki, the Greek Burger (try it with feta cheese) or the Mediterranean Chicken sandwich. Don't forget to save room for dessert which is always good here as well.

Wonderful food, went late for dinner and walked in to find two talented musicians playing jazz in the corner. We ordered the chicken sandwich and gyro which were delicious and the fries are a special treat marinated in garlic or truffle oil and spices, definitely worth trying! I only wish the kitchen didn't close so I could have tried the baklava... All for under twenty bucks for the two of us! We will be going back for sure!

Hands down the best Greek/Mediterranean restaurant in the Zoo! This place brings a mix of Detroit and Chicago together, a true Kalamazoo classic. You have to get their phenomenal Saganaki for the appitizer, for the entree my favorites are the Scallops and Shrimp Pesto! Or you can ask about the Chefs special, EVERYTHING is made from scratch!!! Also if you still have room for dessert the Chocolate Soriee is a MUST. It would be a SIN to leave this place without trying it!

I really enjoyed this place.. but the staff seemed to not know what they were doing and very unorganized but friendly.. I got a pita and was expecting the beef to be more like steak not ground and my love got a steak salad but his steak was overcooked from the way he asked.. but the fish egg rolls were on fleek..

Terrible service! Stood there waiting for acknowledgment for a while before someone said "seat yourself". The waitresses have no rhyme or reason to who takes the next table. One waitress said she'd be right there and a completely different waitress came, then the original one came back 30 minutes later saying oh you moved, I was going to take your order but got confused. (We were one table over from the original. We switched for a group that needed a 4 top) Twice our waitress left while one of us was in the middle of a sentence to help another table. Our appetizers came out way before the glasses of wine we ordered only to find out they were out, so the waitress suggested a wine she said they were out of in the beginning. None of the waitresses can remember where the food is supposed to go, so when the kitchen runners come out they just pile it on the bar. I watched our fries and side salad sit behind the bar for 20 minutes on the ice bucket that the bar tender had to use. I watched his tie drag across my food and then across the bar multiple times. Then a waitress tried serving it to us. I asked to have them remade due to what I saw, she agreed walked back to the kitchen and turned right around to serve the same salad and fries to a different customer. The doors to the kitchen were glass, I could see everything. The main dishes were barely editable. My boyfriend got the white fish and it was soggy and cold and I got the shrimp pesto pasta that was more of a soup. The shrimp still had the shell on it, disgusted!!! Will never go back!!!!

Ouzo's European Grill (as it is now named) is a little bit odd. The decor is Paris bistrot meets English Pub. Nary a hint of the Mediterean the name promises. But the food is definitely from a little further east than the decor. The feta spread was as good as other reviewers have claimed. If you like spicy and you like feta you will LOVE it! The Greek salad was pedestrian but passable. The dressing was very sweet for a vinagrette which I didn't really care for but others in my group did. For entrees, we had the Gyros and the Moussaka. The Moussaka was very good - the bechamel was light and the eggplant was flavorful. The Gyros were a little dry and the tzaziki was a little watery but it was good over all. Our server was friendly and kind but the food was slow to come out. The people watching was good though and they did have a nice selection of drinks. We were too full for desserts unfortunately.

This place is great. The smoked salmon club and Pub Burger are amazing. Also the Spicy Feta Spread Appetizer is sooo good. The waitstaff are always great and the beer selection is very nice also. One of the few places who actually know how to pour and serve a proper Guinness.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Kalamazoo. First off, the owner definitely put in time staffing the place well and it shows. All of the staff are very helpful, informative, and outgoing. They really appreciate their customers, and I love them for it. The food is excellent. I have to say that the spanakopita is the best I've ever had. The crust is light and flaky, and they serve it rolled! It's made by the owner's mother and you can taste the care that was put into it. Also try the moussaka. Also, probably the best I've had. The portions are just the right size and you can't beat this place for the money. I consider it one of Kalamazoo's secrets. Shhhh. Don't tell anyone!

I had been there before a couple times and had a decent experience, however, my expereince there last night made me never want to go back to this place. I walked in with a group of 9 people for a friend's graduation, not a pub crawl..and mind you we were all dressed nicely...and instead of being greeted one of the employees said "We dont take pub crawls you will have to leave". We told him we werent a pub crawl, just a group of people and he said he didnt care he just wanted us out. Now, we were planning on dropping a lot of money and we wanted to speak to the owner because of how rudely we were being treated and the man said he was the owner. We left, obviously, and when one of my friends said he had never been treated so rudely the "owner" said, "good I dont want you here anyway". Are you kidding me? Overpriced drinks anyway. I dont know how they stay in business.

Although it is right down the street from Theo and Stacy's the food here is more varied and slightly better. The traditional Greek dishes are well seasoned and taste very good. It's also not a fancy joint, but it's great for a tasty lunch. The night scene there is great. I've been there many times and it's always a total blast. Get the gyros, they're slightly less greasy than other places that I frequent for this dish then hit it up later to get in some dancing with the live DJ!

We (five) thought we would try here again after mixer even though we had slow service before. The food was good though! When we entered there were only one or two tables with couples and the bar was empty. Our drinks were served and orders taken with the request that one item (a coney dog) be brought as soon as possible. The room began to fill with maybe two or three more tables and two couples at the bar. We noticed that some people who had arrived well after us had been served and the coney dog had not even been brought! What does it take to put one together? 30 seconds? A feeble response was offered after inquiring about it. We inquired about our food and were told it was coming soon. First were salads that really don't take a lot of prep time. A noticeable amount of time later the Salmon Club. Finally the Crab Cakes to the party who told the rest of us not to wait any longer to start eating. We got our bills (2) (2) (1) (1for a late arrival that ordered coney dogs) after flagging the waiter down and found that they added a 20% gratuity to each. We expressed our displeasure at the long wait and the being served well after other later arrivals who ordered more complex meals. The waiter appeared to try to laugh off our concern and when we told him that was inappropriate his tone and demeanor changed for the worse and His response was " You know what? I really don't care " and more. Indicating that we really didn't have to come back there. We paid our bills in full and left vowing never to return, the more sympathetic of the group hoping that the waiter was family and would be retained even if we complained to the owner or manager or at the very least finally graduate and find employment that he was better suited for. Dealing with the public would not be one of them.
