This has been one of our family favorites growing up mostly due to one thing- the Jamaican jerk sauce. It goes fantastically with everything, especially French fries and chicken. We have been known to purchase it in a pint and simply dip bread, crackers, and chips in it just as a snack. With that being said, their food is good, but not great (considering prices they charge). I have no complaints, but I'm not blown away by the food. Since the jerk sauce is made in-house each day, it can vary in consistency and flavor. It usually keeps things exciting, but can be disappointing if it's subpar compared to what we'd expect. It's in a great location within the recently renovated Radisson Hotel within downtown Kalamazoo. The main area is like an upscale sports bar, but it does have expansive seating areas that are less of the sporty feel. However, there are TVs throughout for those sports enthusiasts that need the constant stream of action. The service is typically pretty good, though I did get a whole container of jerk sauce dumped in my lap on one occasion. The server was very apologetic when this happened and I actually ended up with the recipe for the jerk sauce to make sure "nothing stained". It all worked out though and I have been able to replicate the jerk sauce for my own use down in Indianapolis. It remains close to my heart partly due to all of the memories there, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for some good grub in downtown Kalamazoo!

Went here for Brunch on a Thanksgiving day. I thought it would be busier than it was. It's hard to beat being at home with a big family feast on Thanksgiving, but the food and staff made yo feel you were at home. They offered a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, as well as other dinner options. They do a good job of using some of the great Michigan beers in their entrees.

I got grilled Atlantic salmon. Came with a side of green beans and wild rice. Got guacamole and salsa with chips as appetizer. The salmon was 5 stars. Green beans tasted fresh and cooked well yet still a bit crisp 5 Star green beans. 3 star rice seemed a bit tired. 3.5 star guacamole it was good but not great. Salsa 4 stars was good. Greasy chips 2 stars needs some work. Service 5 stars. Atmosphere 5 stars. Margarita 4.5 stars. Overall a 4 star experience. Sampled girlfriends cod fish and chips and they were really quality too. Judging by previous reviews got lucky with no major wait times and good service all around. Sunday night snowing pretty good outside not crowded though. Had to overhear some idiot doctors say the word colon one too many times that I almost offered mine up for an exam post meal Heineken but held back. Maybe next time. Last time they refused to wait on me and the kalamazoo radisson management has failed me in the past but oh well I am very forgiving person and this time was fun and delicious experience. Tipped 35% for top tier service.

This review is quite overdue as my experience here actually took place in February. I made a reservation through OpenTable.com several weeks in advance because I was afraid that there might be too much of a line with all the festivals, conferences and private parties that would be in town at the time. The place is quite spread out and on different levels but there are wheelchair ramps in place. The friendly, helpful staff was expecting me and made aware, by open Table, that I had some difficulty walking and would likely not be able to speak with them (left vocal cord is damaged). I had the Old Burdick's Club Sandwich (I am not all that adventurous); turkey, Hormel cured ham, pecan smoked bacon,Swiss cheese and mayo on butter grilled whole grain bread served with fries - mmmmmmmmm. I observed that staff was Kind and attentive but not intrusive for each table. I decided to try the 'Brownie A La Mode'. I was not prepared for what arrived! It could have served three or four people! It was delicious and I was afraid that my belt would fail as I waddled out.
Ehhhhhhh, not blown away. I have eaten and drank here many times in the past. I have never been blow away by the food, service or drinks. The bar is decent and they do have a good selection of beers on draft. Unfortunately the food is just not that great. The wait times for food, drinks and service have been long. One night at the bar we saw our food sitting on the other side of the bar. After 20 ominutes the bartender finally came over and brought our cold food. Though to his credit he did comp the food. We have gone back here several times hoping that things will be better but they just aren't. There are many better places around downtown.

If you make the wrong decision to go here, make sure you are a student and it's a Sunday. You get half off, which I like to call "fair price." The food is boring, the service is clique-y (and slow), and it's in a hotel lobby. Save your money and go to The Union.

Was in town with some co-workers and we were staying at the Radisson. We decided to try Old Burdick's. Yeah...it wasn't a great decision. We sat down and our waiter came over. Our drink order was not complicated, nothing that required mixing, just wine or scotch. Literally 20 minutes went by and we didn't have any drinks. We waved him over and he apologized. He got our drinks and we ordered dinner. I got the jalapeno burger, everyone else got some version of the tacos. Again, we waited a ridiculously long time for food and our drinks were empty, no refills ever came until the food was delivered. This seemed to be a universal problem. The table behind us suffered the same fate. Finally, the food came. I do have to admit, the burger was really good. The fries were the worst fries I've ever eaten. They were cold and soggy, like they had been sitting around for a long time. Everyone else liked their tacos well enough. Then we had to literally get up and chase the waiter down to get our bill. The waitstaff are either not trained at all or just really don't care because they certainly weren't busy. None of the tables were getting good service, from what I could see.

I must say, this is some of the best food I had in a while and good service! I ordered Blacken Chicken Pasta and my wife orders the Angry Bird. A must try for first timers. Stopped by on a Sunday and had some delicious beers with AWESOME nachos as a stop on a mini pub crawl as new Michiganders. My boyfriend LOVES this place, as he stayed at the hotel while interviewing before we moved and ate almost every meal here. It's a large bar, plenty of tvs and room for lots of patrons. Our waitress was prompt and very sweet, and I really have nothing bad to say about it!

Well, here we go. I'm in from out of town with some of my closest friends and we meet up with a fourth friend here. We sit down on a Friday night and it doesn't seem that busy but for some odd reason it takes our waitress about 15 minutes to take our drink orders. Which is kind of irritating but I've worked in restaurants my whole life and I understand that things like this can happen so we let it slide. Once we got our beer we didn't see her again for 20 minutes when we clearly wanted to order dinner (menus in hands is usually a clear sign). It finally took one of my friends to walk over to her and tell her we wanted to order. We ordered nachos and a sandwich to split between four people not to mention another round. 35 minutes later no 2nd round of beer no food and we've been in this establishment for an hour and 10 minutes. So after she's been clearly avoiding our whole section (the table next to us had empty cups and no food as well) I've had enough and asked her to cash out. No apology was said instead she got all snippy and rude with me saying my food is coming right out. Fine, okay. Food finally arrives (and beer) and she insults me by saying her ticket time had a 35 wait time on it and that's not bad and continued to argue with me even though I have texts from the table with time stamps on it stating different....Turns out the nachos were burnt and sat under a heat lamp for way too long and my friends sandwich was so dry and awful that they didn't finish it. So... An hour and a half all together for 2 beers, crappy overpriced food and horrible staff means I will never be back and I will most definitely never recommend this to anyone.

I had a great experience at Burdick's a few nights ago. On Sundays, they are featuring a Prix Fixe menu. For $25 my friend and I got an appetizer to share, an entree each and a dessert each. We had the chips with salsa and guacamole for an appetizer. Burdick's has my favorite chips and salsa in town. I remember trying the guacamole years ago and not caring for it. The recipe or distributor must have changed because the guacamole is much better now! I had a Burdick's burger for my entree. The burger was juicy and perfectly prepared. The bun was soft. My fries were too good. For dessert, I tried the Bananas Foster shot glass cake. Again, I was very impressed. Another bonus to eating on a Sunday night was that all draught beers were 1/2 off and well drinks were $3.

After a long day of seminars, I'm tired and I'm hungry and in need of a big juicy BURGER!!! I stumble across Burdick's as I completed my retail therapy session at another store in the Radisson hotel. As I walk in, I was immediately greeted by a hostess and seated. Shortly after my amazing & attentive server David took my drink order. Since I'd never been to this restaurant, I had many questions about the menu. David did a quick yet informative run down of his and customer favorite dishes. He sold me on the bacon jam burger, which is something I normally would not order. I'M GLAD I DID!! Weird of advice: A MEDIUM BURGER IS THE WAY TO GO... The beef was comprised of good quality ground cuts of beef and the bacon jam was smoky with a hint of sweetness. SO FREAKIN DELICIOUS!!!! I also had side of fries. The fries were freshly cooked and seasoned with just enough salt. To finish up my meal I ordered the cookie dough brownie. As I salivate from reminiscing about this treat all I can say is YUMMO!!! I truly enjoyed my experience at Burdick's. I hope you all take my experience and try it for yourself

The hostess was wonderful when we arrived but that is where the hospitality ceased. We wanted to sit at the bar but there was a wait. We decided to get drinks at the bar and after we ordered our bar table became available. We took our drinks to the table and apparently this was offensive to our server Mike. He told us only to buy from him if we were going to sit at his high top table. You see, he had been there since 10am and was putting himself through school. He needed our tip money. I asked if he was scolding us and he pretty much said yes. I wasn't terribly friendly after that and we left as soon as our drinks were gone. I have gotten drinks at the bar many times when waiting so I was pretty surprised by this guy's attitude.

Burdicks does some things right but they continually do things poorly. They change their menu all the time without taking much consideration for frequent diners. The management continues to try and make Burdicks a more upscale place but its a sports bar in a hotel and it should just be left at that. Burdicks has some good drinks such as their kicked up beers, craft beers that have a shot of alcohol, but they are expensively priced. The food is good but typically not worth the price. Wait staff is excellent however.

I was hesitant to dine here based off of the low overall score, however we were staying at the Radisson... I was part of a larger group (half adults, half kids) that showed up unannounced. There was no problem finding us a spot where we could sit together and watch the Blackhawks game. The service was fantastic, our server handled the group extremely well and did not bat an eye at issuing separate checks AND matching the kids to the correct parent check. Food was very good and reasonably priced. If we are back next year for the soccer tournament, I would return to Burdick's without hesitation.

Sunday is half off drinks for all. I got a 22 ounce beer for $3.00. They have a nice little selection of different martini's. Cotton candy! The spinach dip is really good. The bartender is always really friendly and the place is clean. The crowd is of mixed ages, but about 75% guys. There is a small student menu, although an 18% gratuity is added on to it. Is this a 5 star restaurant? No. This is Kalamazoo, the best we have are chains.

Going to Burdick's is sort of like a bad habit. But as a college kid with not many options, it fits the bill. Drinks are pretty much average priced, the food can be decent, depending on what you order. The cajun chicken with pineapple is amazing and really the only reason I come, and for my vegan girlfriend they also have a decent black bean burger. To be honest, they probably have more selections for vegans/vegetarians than most other places in the area. And by that I mean a veggie burger and edamame. The reason I have to give them a mediocre/bad review is the sushi. Yeah, they went there, they made sushi. It was often dried out (don't know why I ordered more than once), and we find out they prepare it during the day and store it instead of preparing it fresh, which explains a lot. Basically, I think that says a lot about this place. Would kinda expect better from a restaurant at a 5 star hotel, though I guess if you want quality they have Zazios right next door. Basically, if you find something you like on the menu, stick with it next time. Don't explore, or you may find a trap.

Fun place to watch a game. Also might be good for a group since they've got a large menu to suit different tastes. When I went they had a seasonal specials menu also. Think beer holidays and then menus designed around them... Oktoberfest menu, St. Patrick's day menu, Cinco de Mayo menu... you get the idea I came here after a long day of traveling and it was super packed. They got us in and out in a reasonable amount of time.

This place really disappointed me being attached to one of the nicest hotels in town AND a local chain. Reviewing overall. Our server was either too busy or too distracted as we had to ask multiple times for beverages, clean silverware, forgotten drinks at the bar, to go containers, etc. My side salad was ice beg lettuce - not what I'd expect for this type of place. I'd had about 2 bites when my entree arrived with the explanation that the kitchen was trying to speed up their cooking times. By the time I finished my salad, my entree (the baked mac and cheese) was cold. Not that this would've helped as it tasted about as good as velveeta complete with the pouch cheese you squeeze over the pasta. Dessert sounded good especially when it was mentioned that the carrot cake was now homemade. However, it would take 15 min for the dessert tray to be "ready" for viewing. Does that mean it takes 15 min for thawing? The peanut butter pie, a generous portion, was amazing. Based on this experience, I won't be back nor would I recommend it to others. Bring back the good quality Burdick's I remember from years ago!

Good bar, lots of TVs, disappointing food Depending on what you're looking for, this place can be just fine, or a big disappointment. I certainly wouldn't recommend it as a restaurant unless you're in the mood for mediocre bar food. The menu is fairly extensive for a bar, but nothing was really all that good, aside from the wings. As a bar, it's pretty good, especially for sports with plenty of TVs providing decent views from most tables/seats. That said, I haven't been there on a big game day so can't vouch for the service or experience when it's really crowded. Food gets a 2, bar and TVs get a 3.5. Overall, I'll round up to a 3.

The service here was the worst I've ever experienced at any restaurant. Every little thing took at least 15 minutes for the waitress to do, seriously. Okay, so on Sundays (and now Wednesdays) Burdick's has a half-off normal price Student Menu (with valid student ID). My best friend suggested we use this to our advantage and go check it out. We went on a Sunday evening for dinner and had a waitress who seemed to have the attitude of, "Well, it's Sunday and you guys are obviously students, which means that my tip is probably going to be non-existent, so I'm not even going to give a flying fart in space about you." And that's exactly what she did. We started off looking over the menu like any normal restaurant patrons would, our waitress came by, we said we'd like some more time to decide, and then we didn't see her for 15 minutes. We had been ready to order for at least 10 of those minutes. I can forgive this, right? I mean, we were the ones who had been indecisive. No problem. She finally comes around and we order. Our food takes at least 30 minutes, but it's tasty so I can forgive that; plus, it's super-ridiculously busy tonight. No problem...No problem. Then I realize that I would like some ranch for my fries; I don't see our waitress for another 15 minutes (not even a glimpse in order to flag her down). When she does eventually appear I tell her that I'd like some ranch, she runs off to get it, and I don't see her for...yes, you guessed it, another 15 minutes! WTF?! And I don't even say the "F" word. But seriously, WTF?! Yeah, I could excuse all the other times for basic waitressing stuff: super busy restaurant, possible restroom breaks, annoyance at us for being indecisive, etc., but this was getting flippin' absurd! And the night continued in the same fashion. Wanted a refill on my water (which a waiter/waitress should just do on their own without the prompting of the customer and which is also a major pet peeve of mine), it took 15 minutes. We decided to get dessert [Oh gosh, why did we decide to do that!? Were we really that ignorant to think she'd change her ways in the space of another FIFTEEN MINUTES (no pun intended)]? So we asked to see the dessert menu. 15 minutes. Told her what we wanted. Got the dessert in a timely manner (surprise, surprise). Finally we were satisfied with the stuffing of our faces and tried to find her so she could get the check. I suppose the fact that we wanted to split the check didn't help her, "I don't care about you" attitude, but that was her problem. At long last we found her, asked for the split check, and waited...another 15 minutes. Oh we couldn't have been happier to leave that hellhole if there had been free hundred dollar bills falling from the sky outside. Well...maybe. But no, this experience just all around sucked and that waitress should be fired if not already (since this was from 2 years ago). Bottom line: If you come here, don't expect great service, expect to wait 15 minutes...forever.

I absolutely hate this place. I've unfortunately been several times for friend's birthdays and other events and the service is always terrible. On every occasion, I've had to ask several times for refills or a glass of water and at least one persons order from my group gets messed up. There are too many other good bars and restaurants in the area to waste your time here. 11-17-09: Okay, they've updated their menu since my last report and it's much better. Service was better too so I'm willing to give them a fresh start. ;)

The atmosphere suffers from being located in a hotel, and without that, it isn't anything exciting. This was round two at Burdick's. we try to give places a second opportunity, but this place is awful. The only reason they get two stars is because the bar is well stocked and the big TV is great. First time through I had the Mac and cheese. Bland would the best way to describe it. Had it with the Goodyear shrimp. At least that's where I think they came from, since they were so rubbery. Friends that night both had chicken of some sort and said it was ok, but that's it. Round two was last night with a group of friends and they didn't do any better this time. I had the NY strip, medium, and it was. The menu said it was seasoned with Burdick's house seasoning, or something like that, but they must have been out, because all three steaks at the table were bland. Not so much as a hint of salt or pepper. The girlfriend had shrimp tacos... Small, over cooked shrimp, a ton of lettuce and stale tortillas... She was unimpressed. A friends girlfriend had the fish and chips, which was an oily mess. Another friend had the prime rib dip and she liked that, but at that point they were 1 for 6, which isn't very good. Service in the bar.... Good. Service in the dining area... Horrid. Slow, right next to rude and not very attentive. Heck, the kid stopped serving our food and walked away at one point leaving our food on the serving tray while half of us sat there like hungry chicks in the nest... Had they been slammed, I might have understood, but the place was less than half full, so they weren't stressed. They didn't even check on us after the food came. Had to chase some kid down for steak sauce. With so many other places to choose from in Kalamazoo, the entire group is done with Burdick's.

This was always a great hotel restaurant & bar and with their remodel only has improved the place. Forewarning: This is a biased review, as I've stayed at the Radisson in the late 90's and early 2000's and loved it then. My wife and I recently rolled into the Radisson at 1130 pm after a 6 hour drive, threw our bags in the room, went downstairs and drank in all the goodness of Burdick's in Kalamazoo, that being: lively hotel crowd at midnight; 15-20 flat screens including a huge "TV within a TV" boasting 10 TV's; FANTASTIC draft beer selection (and I don't care how cool you are, it is indeed fantastic for a hotel restaurant or anywhere else for that matter); and as always, killer food for a hotel casual restaurant! We ordered burgers and fries at 10 til midnight on a Thursday and sure enough, 7 minutes later out comes a monster burger grilled to our specs and well done fries. I realized then that this place hasn't missed a beat (gotten better in fact) and it would portend a great trip for us in kzoo and Grand Rapids. And it did. LOVE BURDICK'S. Would eat here anytime and every time I'm a guest at the Radisson.

We have been here a few times and have been increasingly more disappointed with each visit. The most recent time, our food was almost inedible. The guacamole was brown, the lettuce was brown, the multigrain bread tasted like feces, the rolls were rock hard (we were actually using them to make music), and we could tell the french fries had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours, if not a day or two. Absolutely gross. The service wasn't great either. Our server didn't offer to rectify any of the aforementioned problems and the manager never came to speak to us, despite our request for him/her to do so.

I want to give Burdick's a better rating, but I feel like 3 is too high. I am giving this higher rating because our lunch server today was excellent. The food, given the quality, is overpriced. For quite a bit less, you can get nearly as good a burger at other local restaurants. Why do come here? It's a rhetorical question. The service is always marginal - "service with a sneer" I call it, more ubiquitous and endemic in Lansing than Kalamazoo - and the food is barely mediocre. I think maybe two of the twenty times I've eaten here it's been any good. The burgers and some of the apps *can* be okay, and the decor is inoffensive and typical. I don't think I'll be back. Not for a good while, anyway.

The burger is real meat! I had the Olive Burger ($13) with no bun. Boursin Cheese Olive Spread! The meat could use a little salt and pepper... But the Large Ground on the table isn't the same (and who wants a crunchy burger anyways). I am being nit-picky. It came medium, perfectly cooked, with wilted field greens and fire-roasted tomato! Heaven! I also ordered the Truffle White Cheddar Fries ($2). It was a dry powdered type cheese (intentional) so that it perfectly enveloped each French fry. Mr. MVP and I are creatures of habit so if we find something we truly enjoy we revisit it again and again. Old Burdick's was on our list for one reason only, "The Big Turkey", but as of Friday we will not be returning. "The Big Turkey" used to be a glorious sandwich on two thickly sliced pieces of freshly toasted bread, stuffed full of oven baked turkey, tons of herb stuffing, slices of ripe tomato, piles of crisp lettuce, and layers of tangy cranberry mayo. This sandwich was my Thanksgiving Day dream come true served year round and the first two times I ordered it I was a happy eater. Within the past year, however, "The Big Turkey" has turned into a subpar excuse for a TV dinner on toasted white bread. A true disappointment. Mr. MVP being the adventurous sort that he is always orders something new and on Friday it was the Mac and Cheese. Most of it was burned on the top, but he said the rest was okay. Considering he'll eat anything his meal most likely came out of the same box mine did. The couple sitting next to us had their entire meal for free because they waited over an hour, but our service was quick and friendly. *If you go and feel the need to drink tea be advised that you will be getting a coffee cup full of tepid water, a tea bag and a plastic container full of honey for $3.00.*

Burdick's has come to surprise me recently. I'm guessing that a lot of the negative reviews are a reflection of their old menu, because their new menu is exponentially better. Great burgers, fries, sammies, etc. If you're a sports fan there's no better place in Kalamazoo to catch the game than on Burdick's jumbotron(s). Service is always friendly as well. Worth it!

We were there for Thanksgiving Day 2013 at about 630pm. $16 was the cost for a Thanksgiving dinner which had about a cupful of pulled dark and light turkey, an ice cream scoop of of mashed potatoes, a melon baller scoop of soupy dressing and whipped sweet potatoes equally and to top it all off a double shot glass full of your dessert of choice. NO bread or rolls or cranberry sauce. There was so much white on my square plate I thought they had run out of food. Ok if my description of how small and disappointing the presentation of the food is not sad enough let me further share that the turkey was COLD and congealed - the rest of the mini meal was warm. The service was fine and the restaurant was about half full. We stayed at a local B&B and other guests said they had the same experience but poor service. I have stayed at Radisson's all over the country at least 20 times in the past and NEVER was the food quality, quantity and presentation so disappointing. I have also had more than my fair share of restaurant holiday meals which were done right and for those of us who choose or have no choice to celebrate our holiday in public vs at home this was every reason to stay home and have a microwave dinner it would have been hot and more food at least. Whoever manages the Kalamazoo Burdick's Restaurant-----SHAME on you - what a terrible Thanksgiving meal and embarrassment for the Radisson.

So after driving around looking for the damnable Bells brewpub (unsuccessfully), we opted to take the easy way out and go here. Sat on the patio. The food was...eh. About the same as your average green n' brown (applebees/TGI Fridays/etc), but they do have a respectable array of beers on tap. I wouldn't avoid this place, but wouldn't go outta my way to get back here. I actually found the service to be pretty darn good, very friendly and accomodating.

I've eaten at some terrible places around the world but Old Burdick's takes the cake as the worst place to eat in Kalamazoo. Worst. The service is absolutely terrible. A recent example would be a work party where the food took 2 hours to reach our table. 2 hours. If you're a college student, it's worse as profiling runs rampant. Just to rub it in more, while waiting for the wait staff to finish smoking their rock in the back, you can see a group of hostesses / hosts chatting it up in the front area. The food is mediocre and overpriced. Expect normal sub-TGIF generic food that does not command a premium price. The fries are probably the best part but that's not saying much. The decor is nice if not in the bar area and that's probably the only good party of the experience. Regardless, I've dealt with management while on the job and I can see that the problems start at the top and roll on down. I'm pretty sure their target is the businessman who stays in the expensive Radison hotel that it's attached to. After getting his money that one time, they don't have to worry about repeat business so they treat everyone so. Old Burdicks is my least favorite place to eat in Kalamazoo and that's saying a lot.

This was a good place to come watch a game and eat good pub grub. During a stay at the hotel I came here twice. Once with a large group for dinner and then again with just one colleague for lunch. Both times the servers were great and the food was good! Maybe it's because I'm from Boston, but I also thought that the prices were great for the quality and quantity of food that you get. I would definitely come back if I was staying at the hotel again.

after walking around downtown kalamazoo aimlessly in some nasty, humid weather, my sweaty, impatient ass ended up back at my hotel, settling for this place with its lovely ac. I had the chipotle flat iron and jerk shrimp skewer with yukon smashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. the waitress asked if i wanted bacon and cheese with my potatoes; and with a smile and glossy eyes i said, "hell yeah." she was gorgeous. the food was mediocre. knowing i'd get hungry later on i ordered fried cheese to take up to my room. i say that like fried cheese is a cheap hooker and i'm a desperate, horny john with nothing to lose.

I come to the hotel on business sometimes and we usually go to Burdick's for dinner & drinks. As a vegetarian, I struggle to find something on the menu. The portabella sandwich is awful - WAY too salty. I think it's the mound of cheddar cheese but something was not right about this. Way too greasy too. I've also ordered the veggie burger which is standard for gardenburgers dressed as regular burgers. They serve yellow carrots. Weird. The last time I was there my group ordered dessert. This is where Burdick's gets it right. So maybe just go there for something sweet after you've gotten a better meal elsewhere.

hm, honestly, i didn't really get a positive impression of michigan of the haps, perhaps because i was secluded in the suburbs... i'm not bitching, (trust me, i can be a "tourist" of your area, and i can actually be content with you just driving around aimlessly... OK JUICE! sure, u can tell a lot by the car or what impresses a girl or what not, BUT, i'm not like the typical girls:p). came here around 10ish, and it was pretty busy. i felt as if i was in a time machine taken back into my college days. there was a huge mix of people, and honestly, it was a fun mix. considering that this place is inside the radisson, i'm not used to going to a hotel to watch a game with a whole range of people. anyways. it was nice to watch 3 diff games on their main screen MLB (cubs vs. white sox, detroit vs. cardinals), NBA (suns vs. spurs). drinks were yuck. their appetizers were yuck x2. fun to hang out and have fun, but not an everyday i would come to chills and have a good time, mebe for a game or two, and maybe just to catch up with friends, but def NOT for the drinks/food. dont tell me later that i didn't warn ya! considering that this is inside the hotel, parking is free. quite impressive.

Well, here we go. I'm in from out of town with some of my closest friends and we meet up with a fourth friend here. We sit down on a Friday night and it doesn't seem that busy but for some odd reason it takes our waitress about 15 minutes to take our drink orders. Which is kind of irritating but I've worked in restaurants my whole life and I understand that things like this can happen so we let it slide. Once we got our beer we didn't see her again for 20 minutes when we clearly wanted to order dinner (menus in hands is usually a clear sign). It finally took one of my friends to walk over to her and tell her we wanted to order. We ordered nachos and a sandwich to split between four people not to mention another round. 35 minutes later no 2nd round of beer no food and we've been in this establishment for an hour and 10 minutes. So after she's been clearly avoiding our whole section (the table next to us had empty cups and no food as well) I've had enough and asked her to cash out. No apology was said instead she got all snippy and rude with me saying my food is coming right out. Fine, okay. Food finally arrives (and beer) and she insults me by saying her ticket time had a 35 wait time on it and that's not bad and continued to argue with me even though I have texts from the table with time stamps on it stating different....Turns out the nachos were burnt and sat under a heat lamp for way too long and my friends sandwich was so dry and awful that they didn't finish it. So... An hour and a half all together for 2 beers, crappy overpriced food and horrible staff means I will never be back and I will most definitely never recommend this to anyone.

I had a great experience at Burdick's a few nights ago. On Sundays, they are featuring a Prix Fixe menu. For $25 my friend and I got an appetizer to share, an entree each and a dessert each. We had the chips with salsa and guacamole for an appetizer. Burdick's has my favorite chips and salsa in town. I remember trying the guacamole years ago and not caring for it. The recipe or distributor must have changed because the guacamole is much better now! I had a Burdick's burger for my entree. The burger was juicy and perfectly prepared. The bun was soft. My fries were too good. For dessert, I tried the Bananas Foster shot glass cake. Again, I was very impressed. Another bonus to eating on a Sunday night was that all draught beers were 1/2 off and well drinks were $3.

After a long day of seminars, I'm tired and I'm hungry and in need of a big juicy BURGER!!! I stumble across Burdick's as I completed my retail therapy session at another store in the Radisson hotel. As I walk in, I was immediately greeted by a hostess and seated. Shortly after my amazing & attentive server David took my drink order. Since I'd never been to this restaurant, I had many questions about the menu. David did a quick yet informative run down of his and customer favorite dishes. He sold me on the bacon jam burger, which is something I normally would not order. I'M GLAD I DID!! Weird of advice: A MEDIUM BURGER IS THE WAY TO GO... The beef was comprised of good quality ground cuts of beef and the bacon jam was smoky with a hint of sweetness. SO FREAKIN DELICIOUS!!!! I also had side of fries. The fries were freshly cooked and seasoned with just enough salt. To finish up my meal I ordered the cookie dough brownie. As I salivate from reminiscing about this treat all I can say is YUMMO!!! I truly enjoyed my experience at Burdick's. I hope you all take my experience and try it for yourself

Another 30 minutes goes by, I call and am informed they are now closed. Even if the food is great, you may not actually get to try it. Luckily for me, I had a bag of trail mix laying around. This has been one of our family favorites growing up mostly due to one thing- the Jamaican jerk sauce. It goes fantastically with everything, especially French fries and chicken. We have been known to purchase it in a pint and simply dip bread, crackers, and chips in it just as a snack. With that being said, their food is good, but not great (considering prices they charge). I have no complaints, but I'm not blown away by the food. Since the jerk sauce is made in-house each day, it can vary in consistency and flavor. It usually keeps things exciting, but can be disappointing if it's subpar compared to what we'd expect. It's in a great location within the recently renovated Radisson Hotel within downtown Kalamazoo. The main area is like an upscale sports bar, but it does have expansive seating areas that are less of the sporty feel. However, there are TVs throughout for those sports enthusiasts that need the constant stream of action. The service is typically pretty good, though I did get a whole container of jerk sauce dumped in my lap on one occasion. The server was very apologetic when this happened and I actually ended up with the recipe for the jerk sauce to make sure "nothing stained". It all worked out though and I have been able to replicate the jerk sauce for my own use down in Indianapolis. It remains close to my heart partly due to all of the memories there, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for some good grub in downtown Kalamazoo!

Went here for Brunch on a Thanksgiving day. I thought it would be busier than it was. It's hard to beat being at home with a big family feast on Thanksgiving, but the food and staff made yo feel you were at home. They offered a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, as well as other dinner options. They do a good job of using some of the great Michigan beers in their entrees.

Was in town with some co-workers and we were staying at the Radisson. We decided to try Old Burdick's. Yeah...it wasn't a great decision. We sat down and our waiter came over. Our drink order was not complicated, nothing that required mixing, just wine or scotch. Literally 20 minutes went by and we didn't have any drinks. We waved him over and he apologized. He got our drinks and we ordered dinner. I got the jalapeno burger, everyone else got some version of the tacos. Again, we waited a ridiculously long time for food and our drinks were empty, no refills ever came until the food was delivered. This seemed to be a universal problem. The table behind us suffered the same fate. Finally, the food came. I do have to admit, the burger was really good. The fries were the worst fries I've ever eaten. They were cold and soggy, like they had been sitting around for a long time. Everyone else liked their tacos well enough. Then we had to literally get up and chase the waiter down to get our bill. The waitstaff are either not trained at all or just really don't care because they certainly weren't busy. None of the tables were getting good service, from what I could see.

I got grilled Atlantic salmon. Came with a side of green beans and wild rice. Got guacamole and salsa with chips as appetizer. The salmon was 5 stars. Last time they refused to wait on me and the kalamazoo radisson management has failed me in the past but oh well I am very forgiving person and this time was fun and delicious experience. This review is quite overdue as my experience here actually took place in February. I made a reservation through OpenTable.com several weeks in advance because I was afraid that there might be too much of a line with all the festivals, conferences and private parties that would be in town at the time. The place is quite spread out and on different levels but there are wheelchair ramps in place. The friendly, helpful staff was expecting me and made aware, by open Table, that I had some difficulty walking and would likely not be able to speak with them (left vocal cord is damaged). I had the Old Burdick's Club Sandwich (I am not all that adventurous); turkey, Hormel cured ham, pecan smoked bacon,Swiss cheese and mayo on butter grilled whole grain bread served with fries - mmmmmmmmm. I observed that staff was Kind and attentive but not intrusive for each table. I decided to try the 'Brownie A La Mode'. I was not prepared for what arrived! It could have served three or four people! It was delicious and I was afraid that my belt would fail as I waddled out.
Ehhhhhhh, not blown away. I have eaten and drank here many times in the past. I have never been blow away by the food, service or drinks. The bar is decent and they do have a good selection of beers on draft. Unfortunately the food is just not that great. The wait times for food, drinks and service have been long. One night at the bar we saw our food sitting on the other side of the bar. After 20 ominutes the bartender finally came over and brought our cold food. Though to his credit he did comp the food. We have gone back here several times hoping that things will be better but they just aren't. There are many better places around downtown.

This was always a great hotel restaurant & bar and with their remodel only has improved the place. Forewarning: This is a biased review, as I've stayed at the Radisson in the late 90's and early 2000's and loved it then. My wife and I recently rolled into the Radisson at 1130 pm after a 6 hour drive, threw our bags in the room, went downstairs and drank in all the goodness of Burdick's in Kalamazoo, that being: lively hotel crowd at midnight; 15-20 flat screens including a huge "TV within a TV" boasting 10 TV's; FANTASTIC draft beer selection (and I don't care how cool you are, it is indeed fantastic for a hotel restaurant or anywhere else for that matter); and as always, killer food for a hotel casual restaurant! We ordered burgers and fries at 10 til midnight on a Thursday and sure enough, 7 minutes later out comes a monster burger grilled to our specs and well done fries. I realized then that this place hasn't missed a beat (gotten better in fact) and it would portend a great trip for us in kzoo and Grand Rapids. And it did. LOVE BURDICK'S. Would eat here anytime and every time I'm a guest at the Radisson.

We have been here a few times and have been increasingly more disappointed with each visit. The most recent time, our food was almost inedible. The guacamole was brown, the lettuce was brown, the multigrain bread tasted like feces, the rolls were rock hard (we were actually using them to make music), and we could tell the french fries had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours, if not a day or two. Absolutely gross. The service wasn't great either. Our server didn't offer to rectify any of the aforementioned problems and the manager never came to speak to us, despite our request for him/her to do so.

This was round two at Burdick's. we try to give places a second opportunity, but this place is awful. The only reason they get two stars is because the bar is well stocked and the big TV is great. First time through I had the Mac and cheese. Bland would the best way to describe it. Had it with the Goodyear shrimp. At least that's where I think they came from, since they were so rubbery. The menu said it was seasoned with Burdick's house seasoning, or something like that, but they must have been out, because all three steaks at the table were bland. Not so much as a hint of salt or pepper. The girlfriend had shrimp tacos... Small, over cooked shrimp, a ton of lettuce and stale tortillas... She was unimpressed. A friends girlfriend had the fish and chips, which was an oily mess. Another friend had the prime rib dip and she liked that, but at that point they were 1 for 6, which isn't very good. Service in the bar.... Good. Service in the dining area... Horrid. Slow, right next to rude and not very attentive. Heck, the kid stopped serving our food and walked away at one point leaving our food on the serving tray while half of us sat there like hungry chicks in the nest... Had they been slammed, I might have understood, but the place was less than half full, so they weren't stressed. They didn't even check on us after the food came. Had to chase some kid down for steak sauce. With so many other places to choose from in Kalamazoo, the entire group is done with Burdick's.

Mr. MVP and I are creatures of habit so if we find something we truly enjoy we revisit it again and again. Old Burdick's was on our list for one reason only, "The Big Turkey", but as of Friday we will not be returning. "The Big Turkey" used to be a glorious sandwich on two thickly sliced pieces of freshly toasted bread, stuffed full of oven baked turkey, tons of herb stuffing, slices of ripe tomato, piles of crisp lettuce, and layers of tangy cranberry mayo. This sandwich was my Thanksgiving Day dream come true served year round and the first two times I ordered it I was a happy eater. Within the past year, however, "The Big Turkey" has turned into a subpar excuse for a TV dinner on toasted white bread. A true disappointment. Mr. MVP being the adventurous sort that he is always orders something new and on Friday it was the Mac and Cheese. Most of it was burned on the top, but he said the rest was okay. Considering he'll eat anything his meal most likely came out of the same box mine did. The couple sitting next to us had their entire meal for free because they waited over an hour, but our service was quick and friendly. *If you go and feel the need to drink tea be advised that you will be getting a coffee cup full of tepid water, a tea bag and a plastic container full of honey for $3.00.*

Perhaps the learning here is: Even though there's a full menu available at midnight when you arrive after a long travel day doesn't mean that you should eat fish and chips. The service was chipper though.

The hostess was wonderful when we arrived but that is where the hospitality ceased. We wanted to sit at the bar but there was a wait. We decided to get drinks at the bar and after we ordered our bar table became available. We took our drinks to the table and apparently this was offensive to our server Mike. He told us only to buy from him if we were going to sit at his high top table. You see, he had been there since 10am and was putting himself through school. He needed our tip money. I asked if he was scolding us and he pretty much said yes. I wasn't terribly friendly after that and we left as soon as our drinks were gone. I have gotten drinks at the bar many times when waiting so I was pretty surprised by this guy's attitude.

Burdicks does some things right but they continually do things poorly. They change their menu all the time without taking much consideration for frequent diners. The management continues to try and make Burdicks a more upscale place but its a sports bar in a hotel and it should just be left at that. Burdicks has some good drinks such as their kicked up beers, craft beers that have a shot of alcohol, but they are expensively priced. The food is good but typically not worth the price. Wait staff is excellent however.

There was no problem finding us a spot where we could sit together and watch the Blackhawks game. The service was fantastic, our server handled the group extremely well and did not bat an eye at issuing separate checks AND matching the kids to the correct parent check. Food was very good and reasonably priced. If we are back next year for the soccer tournament, I would return to Burdick's without hesitation.

Going to Burdick's is sort of like a bad habit. But as a college kid with not many options, it fits the bill. Drinks are pretty much average priced, the food can be decent, depending on what you order. The cajun chicken with pineapple is amazing and really the only reason I come, and for my vegan girlfriend they also have a decent black bean burger. To be honest, they probably have more selections for vegans/vegetarians than most other places in the area. And by that I mean a veggie burger and edamame. The reason I have to give them a mediocre/bad review is the sushi. Yeah, they went there, they made sushi. It was often dried out (don't know why I ordered more than once), and we find out they prepare it during the day and store it instead of preparing it fresh, which explains a lot. Basically, I think that says a lot about this place. Would kinda expect better from a restaurant at a 5 star hotel, though I guess if you want quality they have Zazios right next door. Basically, if you find something you like on the menu, stick with it next time. Don't explore, or you may find a trap.

Can't comment on the food. But one star for the service. Ordered room service and was told it would be 35 minutes. An hour later I called down and was told it would be right up. Another 30 minutes goes by, I call and am informed they are now closed. Even if the food is great, you may not actually get to try it. Luckily for me, I had a bag of trail mix laying around. This has been one of our family favorites growing up mostly due to one thing- the Jamaican jerk sauce. It goes fantastically with everything, especially French fries and chicken. We have been known to purchase it in a pint and simply dip bread, crackers, and chips in it just as a snack. With that being said, their food is good, but not great (considering prices they charge). I have no complaints, but I'm not blown away by the food. Since the jerk sauce is made in-house each day, it can vary in consistency and flavor. It usually keeps things exciting, but can be disappointing if it's subpar compared to what we'd expect. It's in a great location within the recently renovated Radisson Hotel within downtown Kalamazoo. The main area is like an upscale sports bar, but it does have expansive seating areas that are less of the sporty feel. However, there are TVs throughout for those sports enthusiasts that need the constant stream of action. The service is typically pretty good, though I did get a whole container of jerk sauce dumped in my lap on one occasion. The server was very apologetic when this happened and I actually ended up with the recipe for the jerk sauce to make sure "nothing stained". It all worked out though and I have been able to replicate the jerk sauce for my own use down in Indianapolis. It remains close to my heart partly due to all of the memories there, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for some good grub in downtown Kalamazoo!

Went here for Brunch on a Thanksgiving day. I thought it would be busier than it was. It's hard to beat being at home with a big family feast on Thanksgiving, but the food and staff made yo feel you were at home. They offered a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, as well as other dinner options. They do a good job of using some of the great Michigan beers in their entrees.

Was in town with some co-workers and we were staying at the Radisson. We decided to try Old Burdick's. Yeah...it wasn't a great decision. We sat down and our waiter came over. Our drink order was not complicated, nothing that required mixing, just wine or scotch. Literally 20 minutes went by and we didn't have any drinks. We waved him over and he apologized. He got our drinks and we ordered dinner. I got the jalapeno burger, everyone else got some version of the tacos. Again, we waited a ridiculously long time for food and our drinks were empty, no refills ever came until the food was delivered. This seemed to be a universal problem. The table behind us suffered the same fate. Finally, the food came. I do have to admit, the burger was really good. The fries were the worst fries I've ever eaten. They were cold and soggy, like they had been sitting around for a long time. Everyone else liked their tacos well enough. Then we had to literally get up and chase the waiter down to get our bill. The waitstaff are either not trained at all or just really don't care because they certainly weren't busy. None of the tables were getting good service, from what I could see.

after walking around downtown kalamazoo aimlessly in some nasty, humid weather, my sweaty, impatient ass ended up back at my hotel, settling for this place with its lovely ac. I had the chipotle flat iron and jerk shrimp skewer with yukon smashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. the waitress asked if i wanted bacon and cheese with my potatoes; and with a smile and glossy eyes i said, "hell yeah." she was gorgeous. the food was mediocre. knowing i'd get hungry later on i ordered fried cheese to take up to my room. i say that like fried cheese is a cheap hooker and i'm a desperate, horny john with nothing to lose.

I come to the hotel on business sometimes and we usually go to Burdick's for dinner & drinks. As a vegetarian, I struggle to find something on the menu. The portabella sandwich is awful - WAY too salty. I think it's the mound of cheddar cheese but something was not right about this. Way too greasy too. I've also ordered the veggie burger which is standard for gardenburgers dressed as regular burgers. They serve yellow carrots. Weird. The last time I was there my group ordered dessert. This is where Burdick's gets it right. So maybe just go there for something sweet after you've gotten a better meal elsewhere.

I got grilled Atlantic salmon. Came with a side of green beans and wild rice. Got guacamole and salsa with chips as appetizer. The salmon was 5 stars. Judging by previous reviews got lucky with no major wait times and good service all around. Sunday night snowing pretty good outside not crowded though. Had to overhear some idiot doctors say the word colon one too many times that I almost offered mine up for an exam post meal Heineken but held back. Maybe next time. Last time they refused to wait on me and the kalamazoo radisson management has failed me in the past but oh well I am very forgiving person and this time was fun and delicious experience. Tipped 35% for top tier service.

This review is quite overdue as my experience here actually took place in February. I made a reservation through OpenTable.com several weeks in advance because I was afraid that there might be too much of a line with all the festivals, conferences and private parties that would be in town at the time. The place is quite spread out and on different levels but there are wheelchair ramps in place. The friendly, helpful staff was expecting me and made aware, by open Table, that I had some difficulty walking and would likely not be able to speak with them (left vocal cord is damaged). I had the Old Burdick's Club Sandwich (I am not all that adventurous); turkey, Hormel cured ham, pecan smoked bacon,Swiss cheese and mayo on butter grilled whole grain bread served with fries - mmmmmmmmm. I observed that staff was Kind and attentive but not intrusive for each table. I decided to try the 'Brownie A La Mode'. I was not prepared for what arrived! It could have served three or four people! It was delicious and I was afraid that my belt would fail as I waddled out.
Ehhhhhhh, not blown away. I have eaten and drank here many times in the past. I have never been blow away by the food, service or drinks. The bar is decent and they do have a good selection of beers on draft. Unfortunately the food is just not that great. The wait times for food, drinks and service have been long. One night at the bar we saw our food sitting on the other side of the bar. After 20 ominutes the bartender finally came over and brought our cold food. Though to his credit he did comp the food. We have gone back here several times hoping that things will be better but they just aren't. There are many better places around downtown.

Well, here we go. I'm in from out of town with some of my closest friends and we meet up with a fourth friend here. We sit down on a Friday night and it doesn't seem that busy but for some odd reason it takes our waitress about 15 minutes to take our drink orders. Which is kind of irritating but I've worked in restaurants my whole life and I understand that things like this can happen so we let it slide. Once we got our beer we didn't see her again for 20 minutes when we clearly wanted to order dinner (menus in hands is usually a clear sign). It finally took one of my friends to walk over to her and tell her we wanted to order. We ordered nachos and a sandwich to split between four people not to mention another round. 35 minutes later no 2nd round of beer no food and we've been in this establishment for an hour and 10 minutes. So after she's been clearly avoiding our whole section (the table next to us had empty cups and no food as well) I've had enough and asked her to cash out. No apology was said instead she got all snippy and rude with me saying my food is coming right out. Fine, okay. Food finally arrives (and beer) and she insults me by saying her ticket time had a 35 wait time on it and that's not bad and continued to argue with me even though I have texts from the table with time stamps on it stating different....Turns out the nachos were burnt and sat under a heat lamp for way too long and my friends sandwich was so dry and awful that they didn't finish it. So... An hour and a half all together for 2 beers, crappy overpriced food and horrible staff means I will never be back and I will most definitely never recommend this to anyone.

I had a great experience at Burdick's a few nights ago. On Sundays, they are featuring a Prix Fixe menu. For $25 my friend and I got an appetizer to share, an entree each and a dessert each. We had the chips with salsa and guacamole for an appetizer. Burdick's has my favorite chips and salsa in town. I remember trying the guacamole years ago and not caring for it. The recipe or distributor must have changed because the guacamole is much better now! I had a Burdick's burger for my entree. The burger was juicy and perfectly prepared. The bun was soft. My fries were too good. For dessert, I tried the Bananas Foster shot glass cake. Again, I was very impressed. Another bonus to eating on a Sunday night was that all draught beers were 1/2 off and well drinks were $3.

After a long day of seminars, I'm tired and I'm hungry and in need of a big juicy BURGER!!! I stumble across Burdick's as I completed my retail therapy session at another store in the Radisson hotel. As I walk in, I was immediately greeted by a hostess and seated. Shortly after my amazing & attentive server David took my drink order. Since I'd never been to this restaurant, I had many questions about the menu. David did a quick yet informative run down of his and customer favorite dishes. He sold me on the bacon jam burger, which is something I normally would not order. I'M GLAD I DID!! Weird of advice: A MEDIUM BURGER IS THE WAY TO GO... The beef was comprised of good quality ground cuts of beef and the bacon jam was smoky with a hint of sweetness. SO FREAKIN DELICIOUS!!!! I also had side of fries. The fries were freshly cooked and seasoned with just enough salt. To finish up my meal I ordered the cookie dough brownie. As I salivate from reminiscing about this treat all I can say is YUMMO!!! I truly enjoyed my experience at Burdick's. I hope you all take my experience and try it for yourself

This was always a great hotel restaurant & bar and with their remodel only has improved the place. Forewarning: This is a biased review, as I've stayed at the Radisson in the late 90's and early 2000's and loved it then. My wife and I recently rolled into the Radisson at 1130 pm after a 6 hour drive, threw our bags in the room, went downstairs and drank in all the goodness of Burdick's in Kalamazoo, that being: lively hotel crowd at midnight; 15-20 flat screens including a huge "TV within a TV" boasting 10 TV's; FANTASTIC draft beer selection (and I don't care how cool you are, it is indeed fantastic for a hotel restaurant or anywhere else for that matter); and as always, killer food for a hotel casual restaurant! We ordered burgers and fries at 10 til midnight on a Thursday and sure enough, 7 minutes later out comes a monster burger grilled to our specs and well done fries. I realized then that this place hasn't missed a beat (gotten better in fact) and it would portend a great trip for us in kzoo and Grand Rapids. And it did. LOVE BURDICK'S. Would eat here anytime and every time I'm a guest at the Radisson.

We have been here a few times and have been increasingly more disappointed with each visit. The most recent time, our food was almost inedible. The guacamole was brown, the lettuce was brown, the multigrain bread tasted like feces, the rolls were rock hard (we were actually using them to make music), and we could tell the french fries had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours, if not a day or two. Absolutely gross. The service wasn't great either. Our server didn't offer to rectify any of the aforementioned problems and the manager never came to speak to us, despite our request for him/her to do so.

For quite a bit less, you can get nearly as good a burger at other local restaurants. Why do come here? It's a rhetorical question. The service is always marginal - "service with a sneer" I call it, more ubiquitous and endemic in Lansing than Kalamazoo - and the food is barely mediocre. I think maybe two of the twenty times I've eaten here it's been any good. The staff are often enough swag-obsessed douchebag college boys and girls, and the food is, at best, unimpressive. $21.00 for a 5oz. filet? Gimme a break. $4.00 for, literally, a cup masquerading as a bowl of watery tomato soup with a little ground beef and a couple beans in it they call "chili?" This is shameful. The burgers and some of the apps *can* be okay, and the decor is inoffensive and typical. I don't think I'll be back. Not for a good while, anyway.

The burger is real meat! I had the Olive Burger ($13) with no bun. Boursin Cheese Olive Spread! The meat could use a little salt and pepper... But the Large Ground on the table isn't the same (and who wants a crunchy burger anyways). I am being nit-picky. It came medium, perfectly cooked, with wilted field greens and fire-roasted tomato! Heaven! I also ordered the Truffle White Cheddar Fries ($2). It was a dry powdered type cheese (intentional) so that it perfectly enveloped each French fry. If you don't order this, someone should take the menu away from you until you behave correctly! Most sandwiches between $9-13, but elegant atmosphere, Sirius XM radio and great service! We were there for Thanksgiving Day 2013 at about 630pm. $16 was the cost for a Thanksgiving dinner which had about a cupful of pulled dark and light turkey, an ice cream scoop of of mashed potatoes, a melon baller scoop of soupy dressing and whipped sweet potatoes equally and to top it all off a double shot glass full of your dessert of choice. NO bread or rolls or cranberry sauce. There was so much white on my square plate I thought they had run out of food. Ok if my description of how small and disappointing the presentation of the food is not sad enough let me further share that the turkey was COLD and congealed - the rest of the mini meal was warm. The service was fine and the restaurant was about half full. We stayed at a local B&B and other guests said they had the same experience but poor service. I have stayed at Radisson's all over the country at least 20 times in the past and NEVER was the food quality, quantity and presentation so disappointing. I have also had more than my fair share of restaurant holiday meals which were done right and for those of us who choose or have no choice to celebrate our holiday in public vs at home this was every reason to stay home and have a microwave dinner it would have been hot and more food at least. Whoever manages the Kalamazoo Burdick's Restaurant-----SHAME on you - what a terrible Thanksgiving meal and embarrassment for the Radisson.

Burdick's has come to surprise me recently. I'm guessing that a lot of the negative reviews are a reflection of their old menu, because their new menu is exponentially better. Great burgers, fries, sammies, etc. If you're a sports fan there's no better place in Kalamazoo to catch the game than on Burdick's jumbotron(s). Service is always friendly as well. Worth it!

The hostess was wonderful when we arrived but that is where the hospitality ceased. We wanted to sit at the bar but there was a wait. We decided to get drinks at the bar and after we ordered our bar table became available. We took our drinks to the table and apparently this was offensive to our server Mike. He told us only to buy from him if we were going to sit at his high top table. You see, he had been there since 10am and was putting himself through school. He needed our tip money. I asked if he was scolding us and he pretty much said yes. I wasn't terribly friendly after that and we left as soon as our drinks were gone. I have gotten drinks at the bar many times when waiting so I was pretty surprised by this guy's attitude.

Burdicks does some things right but they continually do things poorly. They change their menu all the time without taking much consideration for frequent diners. The management continues to try and make Burdicks a more upscale place but its a sports bar in a hotel and it should just be left at that. Burdicks has some good drinks such as their kicked up beers, craft beers that have a shot of alcohol, but they are expensively priced. The food is good but typically not worth the price. Wait staff is excellent however.

Service can be slow. The food is always good when you get it though and they have a pretty well stocked bar. Some people complain about drink prices. You get whAt you pay for though and burdicks drinks always have a good pour of liquor. I'd rather drink here than a lot of the bars downtown.

reviewing strictly as a bar - and by hotel bars this place is pretty crazy. more than just for those staying at the radisson, you can tell this place is a hot spot for locals. we did some GREAT people watching here. drinks were moderately priced and the bar-service good. ultimately would only come here if staying in the radisson.. i mean what's the fun of a hotel bar if you have to leave the building to go home?

Sunday is half off drinks for all. I got a 22 ounce beer for $3.00. They have a nice little selection of different martini's. Cotton candy! The spinach dip is really good. The bartender is always really friendly and the place is clean. The crowd is of mixed ages, but about 75% guys. There is a small student menu, although an 18% gratuity is added on to it. Is this a 5 star restaurant? No. This is Kalamazoo, the best we have are chains.

All of the reviews are pretty accurate on here already. You can east cheaply if you are a student here on Sundays, but don't expect too much in return. The atmosphere suffers from being located in a hotel, and without that, it isn't anything exciting. A little cheaper than a Fridays or Applebees, but the food, service, and atmosphere may has well been. anyways.

I've eaten at some terrible places around the world but Old Burdick's takes the cake as the worst place to eat in Kalamazoo. Worst. The service is absolutely terrible. A recent example would be a work party where the food took 2 hours to reach our table. 2 hours. If you're a college student, it's worse as profiling runs rampant. Just to rub it in more, while waiting for the wait staff to finish smoking their rock in the back, you can see a group of hostesses / hosts chatting it up in the front area. The food is mediocre and overpriced. Expect normal sub-TGIF generic food that does not command a premium price. The fries are probably the best part but that's not saying much. The decor is nice if not in the bar area and that's probably the only good party of the experience. Regardless, I've dealt with management while on the job and I can see that the problems start at the top and roll on down. I'm pretty sure their target is the businessman who stays in the expensive Radison hotel that it's attached to. After getting his money that one time, they don't have to worry about repeat business so they treat everyone so. Old Burdicks is my least favorite place to eat in Kalamazoo and that's saying a lot.

This was a good place to come watch a game and eat good pub grub. During a stay at the hotel I came here twice. Once with a large group for dinner and then again with just one colleague for lunch. Both times the servers were great and the food was good! Maybe it's because I'm from Boston, but I also thought that the prices were great for the quality and quantity of food that you get. I would definitely come back if I was staying at the hotel again.

So after driving around looking for the damnable Bells brewpub (unsuccessfully), we opted to take the easy way out and go here. Sat on the patio. The food was...eh. About the same as your average green n' brown (applebees/TGI Fridays/etc), but they do have a respectable array of beers on tap. I wouldn't avoid this place, but wouldn't go outta my way to get back here. I actually found the service to be pretty darn good, very friendly and accomodating.

hm, honestly, i didn't really get a positive impression of michigan of the haps, perhaps because i was secluded in the suburbs... i'm not bitching, (trust me, i can be a "tourist" of your area, and i can actually be content with you just driving around aimlessly... OK JUICE! sure, u can tell a lot by the car or what impresses a girl or what not, BUT, i'm not like the typical girls:p). came here around 10ish, and it was pretty busy. i felt as if i was in a time machine taken back into my college days. there was a huge mix of people, and honestly, it was a fun mix. considering that this place is inside the radisson, i'm not used to going to a hotel to watch a game with a whole range of people. anyways. it was nice to watch 3 diff games on their main screen MLB (cubs vs. white sox, detroit vs. cardinals), NBA (suns vs. spurs). drinks were yuck. their appetizers were yuck x2. fun to hang out and have fun, but not an everyday i would come to chills and have a good time, mebe for a game or two, and maybe just to catch up with friends, but def NOT for the drinks/food. dont tell me later that i didn't warn ya! considering that this is inside the hotel, parking is free. quite impressive.

The service here was the worst I've ever experienced at any restaurant. Every little thing took at least 15 minutes for the waitress to do, seriously. Okay, so on Sundays (and now Wednesdays) Burdick's has a half-off normal price Student Menu (with valid student ID). My best friend suggested we use this to our advantage and go check it out. We went on a Sunday evening for dinner and had a waitress who seemed to have the attitude of, "Well, it's Sunday and you guys are obviously students, which means that my tip is probably going to be non-existent, so I'm not even going to give a flying fart in space about you." And that's exactly what she did. We started off looking over the menu like any normal restaurant patrons would, our waitress came by, we said we'd like some more time to decide, and then we didn't see her for 15 minutes. We had been ready to order for at least 10 of those minutes. I can forgive this, right? I mean, we were the ones who had been indecisive. No problem. She finally comes around and we order. Our food takes at least 30 minutes, but it's tasty so I can forgive that; plus, it's super-ridiculously busy tonight. No problem...No problem. Then I realize that I would like some ranch for my fries; I don't see our waitress for another 15 minutes (not even a glimpse in order to flag her down). When she does eventually appear I tell her that I'd like some ranch, she runs off to get it, and I don't see her for...yes, you guessed it, another 15 minutes! WTF?! And I don't even say the "F" word. But seriously, WTF?! Yeah, I could excuse all the other times for basic waitressing stuff: super busy restaurant, possible restroom breaks, annoyance at us for being indecisive, etc., but this was getting flippin' absurd! And the night continued in the same fashion. Wanted a refill on my water (which a waiter/waitress should just do on their own without the prompting of the customer and which is also a major pet peeve of mine), it took 15 minutes. We decided to get dessert [Oh gosh, why did we decide to do that!? Were we really that ignorant to think she'd change her ways in the space of another FIFTEEN MINUTES (no pun intended)]? So we asked to see the dessert menu. 15 minutes. Told her what we wanted. Got the dessert in a timely manner (surprise, surprise). Finally we were satisfied with the stuffing of our faces and tried to find her so she could get the check. I suppose the fact that we wanted to split the check didn't help her, "I don't care about you" attitude, but that was her problem. At long last we found her, asked for the split check, and waited...another 15 minutes. Oh we couldn't have been happier to leave that hellhole if there had been free hundred dollar bills falling from the sky outside. Well...maybe. But no, this experience just all around sucked and that waitress should be fired if not already (since this was from 2 years ago). Bottom line: If you come here, don't expect great service, expect to wait 15 minutes...forever.

I absolutely hate this place. I've unfortunately been several times for friend's birthdays and other events and the service is always terrible. On every occasion, I've had to ask several times for refills or a glass of water and at least one persons order from my group gets messed up. There are too many other good bars and restaurants in the area to waste your time here. 11-17-09: Okay, they've updated their menu since my last report and it's much better. Service was better too so I'm willing to give them a fresh start. ;)

Going to Burdick's is sort of like a bad habit. But as a college kid with not many options, it fits the bill. Drinks are pretty much average priced, the food can be decent, depending on what you order. The cajun chicken with pineapple is amazing and really the only reason I come, and for my vegan girlfriend they also have a decent black bean burger. To be honest, they probably have more selections for vegans/vegetarians than most other places in the area. And by that I mean a veggie burger and edamame. The reason I have to give them a mediocre/bad review is the sushi. Yeah, they went there, they made sushi. It was often dried out (don't know why I ordered more than once), and we find out they prepare it during the day and store it instead of preparing it fresh, which explains a lot. Basically, I think that says a lot about this place. Would kinda expect better from a restaurant at a 5 star hotel, though I guess if you want quality they have Zazios right next door. Basically, if you find something you like on the menu, stick with it next time. Don't explore, or you may find a trap.

The best thing that Burdicks has going for it is a great beer selection and awesome tv setup. Definitely a place to come to if your trying to grab a couple beers on the cheap and unwind. That being said, the food leaves a lot to be desired - especially the wings. The only thing that I can say is decent on the menu is the Jamaican jerk tenders.

Fun place to watch a game. Also might be good for a group since they've got a large menu to suit different tastes. When I went they had a seasonal specials menu also. Think beer holidays and then menus designed around them... Oktoberfest menu, St. Patrick's day menu, Cinco de Mayo menu... you get the idea I came here after a long day of traveling and it was super packed. They got us in and out in a reasonable amount of time.

The online reservation was very simple! Our Christmas Eve dinner was very good. We did have to wait just a little bit for our food. The waitress explained they had several large parties. This place really disappointed me being attached to one of the nicest hotels in town AND a local chain. Reviewing overall. Our server was either too busy or too distracted as we had to ask multiple times for beverages, clean silverware, forgotten drinks at the bar, to go containers, etc. My side salad was ice beg lettuce - not what I'd expect for this type of place. I'd had about 2 bites when my entree arrived with the explanation that the kitchen was trying to speed up their cooking times. By the time I finished my salad, my entree (the baked mac and cheese) was cold. Not that this would've helped as it tasted about as good as velveeta complete with the pouch cheese you squeeze over the pasta. Dessert sounded good especially when it was mentioned that the carrot cake was now homemade. However, it would take 15 min for the dessert tray to be "ready" for viewing. Does that mean it takes 15 min for thawing? The peanut butter pie, a generous portion, was amazing. Based on this experience, I won't be back nor would I recommend it to others. Bring back the good quality Burdick's I remember from years ago!

Good bar, lots of TVs, disappointing food Depending on what you're looking for, this place can be just fine, or a big disappointment. I certainly wouldn't recommend it as a restaurant unless you're in the mood for mediocre bar food. The menu is fairly extensive for a bar, but nothing was really all that good, aside from the wings. As a bar, it's pretty good, especially for sports with plenty of TVs providing decent views from most tables/seats. That said, I haven't been there on a big game day so can't vouch for the service or experience when it's really crowded. Food gets a 2, bar and TVs get a 3.5. Overall, I'll round up to a 3.

This has been one of our family favorites growing up mostly due to one thing- the Jamaican jerk sauce. It goes fantastically with everything, especially French fries and chicken. We have been known to purchase it in a pint and simply dip bread, crackers, and chips in it just as a snack. With that being said, their food is good, but not great (considering prices they charge). I have no complaints, but I'm not blown away by the food. Since the jerk sauce is made in-house each day, it can vary in consistency and flavor. It usually keeps things exciting, but can be disappointing if it's subpar compared to what we'd expect. It's in a great location within the recently renovated Radisson Hotel within downtown Kalamazoo. The main area is like an upscale sports bar, but it does have expansive seating areas that are less of the sporty feel. However, there are TVs throughout for those sports enthusiasts that need the constant stream of action. The service is typically pretty good, though I did get a whole container of jerk sauce dumped in my lap on one occasion. The server was very apologetic when this happened and I actually ended up with the recipe for the jerk sauce to make sure "nothing stained". It all worked out though and I have been able to replicate the jerk sauce for my own use down in Indianapolis. It remains close to my heart partly due to all of the memories there, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for some good grub in downtown Kalamazoo!

Went here for Brunch on a Thanksgiving day. I thought it would be busier than it was. It's hard to beat being at home with a big family feast on Thanksgiving, but the food and staff made yo feel you were at home. They offered a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, as well as other dinner options. They do a good job of using some of the great Michigan beers in their entrees.

I got grilled Atlantic salmon. Came with a side of green beans and wild rice. Got guacamole and salsa with chips as appetizer. The salmon was 5 stars. Green beans tasted fresh and cooked well yet still a bit crisp 5 Star green beans. 3 star rice seemed a bit tired. 3.5 star guacamole it was good but not great. Salsa 4 stars was good. Greasy chips 2 stars needs some work. Service 5 stars. Atmosphere 5 stars. Margarita 4.5 stars. Overall a 4 star experience. Sampled girlfriends cod fish and chips and they were really quality too. Judging by previous reviews got lucky with no major wait times and good service all around. Sunday night snowing pretty good outside not crowded though. Had to overhear some idiot doctors say the word colon one too many times that I almost offered mine up for an exam post meal Heineken but held back. Maybe next time. Last time they refused to wait on me and the kalamazoo radisson management has failed me in the past but oh well I am very forgiving person and this time was fun and delicious experience. This review is quite overdue as my experience here actually took place in February. I made a reservation through OpenTable.com several weeks in advance because I was afraid that there might be too much of a line with all the festivals, conferences and private parties that would be in town at the time. The place is quite spread out and on different levels but there are wheelchair ramps in place. The friendly, helpful staff was expecting me and made aware, by open Table, that I had some difficulty walking and would likely not be able to speak with them (left vocal cord is damaged). I had the Old Burdick's Club Sandwich (I am not all that adventurous); turkey, Hormel cured ham, pecan smoked bacon,Swiss cheese and mayo on butter grilled whole grain bread served with fries - mmmmmmmmm. I observed that staff was Kind and attentive but not intrusive for each table. I decided to try the 'Brownie A La Mode'. I was not prepared for what arrived! It could have served three or four people! It was delicious and I was afraid that my belt would fail as I waddled out.

Not good, We ended up here, I planned a night out for my fiancés bday. We stayed in the hotel and made reservations at websters which was terrible so we ended up here thinking we can atleast get something decent in our stomachs, we ordered the turkey burger and quesadilla w beef I ended up returning the turkey burger it was overcooked dry and tasteless and my fiancé ate as much as he could but just what he needed in his stomach, does anyone in this town know how to cook !!

Ehhhhhhh, not blown away. I have eaten and drank here many times in the past. I have never been blow away by the food, service or drinks. The bar is decent and they do have a good selection of beers on draft. Unfortunately the food is just not that great. The wait times for food, drinks and service have been long. One night at the bar we saw our food sitting on the other side of the bar. After 20 ominutes the bartender finally came over and brought our cold food. Though to his credit he did comp the food. We have gone back here several times hoping that things will be better but they just aren't. There are many better places around downtown.

Was in town with some co-workers and we were staying at the Radisson. We decided to try Old Burdick's. Yeah...it wasn't a great decision. We sat down and our waiter came over. Our drink order was not complicated, nothing that required mixing, just wine or scotch. Literally 20 minutes went by and we didn't have any drinks. We waved him over and he apologized. He got our drinks and we ordered dinner. I got the jalapeno burger, everyone else got some version of the tacos. Again, we waited a ridiculously long time for food and our drinks were empty, no refills ever came until the food was delivered. This seemed to be a universal problem. The table behind us suffered the same fate. Finally, the food came. I do have to admit, the burger was really good. The fries were the worst fries I've ever eaten. They were cold and soggy, like they had been sitting around for a long time. Everyone else liked their tacos well enough. Then we had to literally get up and chase the waiter down to get our bill. The waitstaff are either not trained at all or just really don't care because they certainly weren't busy. None of the tables were getting good service, from what I could see.

Stopped by on a Sunday and had some delicious beers with AWESOME nachos as a stop on a mini pub crawl as new Michiganders. My boyfriend LOVES this place, as he stayed at the hotel while interviewing before we moved and ate almost every meal here. It's a large bar, plenty of tvs and room for lots of patrons. Our waitress was prompt and very sweet, and I really have nothing bad to say about it!

Well, here we go. I'm in from out of town with some of my closest friends and we meet up with a fourth friend here. We sit down on a Friday night and it doesn't seem that busy but for some odd reason it takes our waitress about 15 minutes to take our drink orders. Which is kind of irritating but I've worked in restaurants my whole life and I understand that things like this can happen so we let it slide. Once we got our beer we didn't see her again for 20 minutes when we clearly wanted to order dinner (menus in hands is usually a clear sign). It finally took one of my friends to walk over to her and tell her we wanted to order. We ordered nachos and a sandwich to split between four people not to mention another round. 35 minutes later no 2nd round of beer no food and we've been in this establishment for an hour and 10 minutes. So after she's been clearly avoiding our whole section (the table next to us had empty cups and no food as well) I've had enough and asked her to cash out. No apology was said instead she got all snippy and rude with me saying my food is coming right out. Fine, okay. Food finally arrives (and beer) and she insults me by saying her ticket time had a 35 wait time on it and that's not bad and continued to argue with me even though I have texts from the table with time stamps on it stating different....Turns out the nachos were burnt and sat under a heat lamp for way too long and my friends sandwich was so dry and awful that they didn't finish it. So... An hour and a half all together for 2 beers, crappy overpriced food and horrible staff means I will never be back and I will most definitely never recommend this to anyone.

I had a great experience at Burdick's a few nights ago. On Sundays, they are featuring a Prix Fixe menu. For $25 my friend and I got an appetizer to share, an entree each and a dessert each. We had the chips with salsa and guacamole for an appetizer. Burdick's has my favorite chips and salsa in town. I remember trying the guacamole years ago and not caring for it. The recipe or distributor must have changed because the guacamole is much better now! I had a Burdick's burger for my entree. The burger was juicy and perfectly prepared. The bun was soft. My fries were too good. For dessert, I tried the Bananas Foster shot glass cake. Again, I was very impressed. After a long day of seminars, I'm tired and I'm hungry and in need of a big juicy BURGER!!! I stumble across Burdick's as I completed my retail therapy session at another store in the Radisson hotel. As I walk in, I was immediately greeted by a hostess and seated. Shortly after my amazing & attentive server David took my drink order. Since I'd never been to this restaurant, I had many questions about the menu. David did a quick yet informative run down of his and customer favorite dishes. He sold me on the bacon jam burger, which is something I normally would not order. I'M GLAD I DID!! Weird of advice: A MEDIUM BURGER IS THE WAY TO GO... The beef was comprised of good quality ground cuts of beef and the bacon jam was smoky with a hint of sweetness. SO FREAKIN DELICIOUS!!!! I also had side of fries. The fries were freshly cooked and seasoned with just enough salt. To finish up my meal I ordered the cookie dough brownie. As I salivate from reminiscing about this treat all I can say is YUMMO!!! I truly enjoyed my experience at Burdick's. I hope you all take my experience and try it for yourself

The hostess was wonderful when we arrived but that is where the hospitality ceased. We wanted to sit at the bar but there was a wait. We decided to get drinks at the bar and after we ordered our bar table became available. We took our drinks to the table and apparently this was offensive to our server Mike. He told us only to buy from him if we were going to sit at his high top table. You see, he had been there since 10am and was putting himself through school. He needed our tip money. I asked if he was scolding us and he pretty much said yes. I wasn't terribly friendly after that and we left as soon as our drinks were gone. I have gotten drinks at the bar many times when waiting so I was pretty surprised by this guy's attitude.

Burdicks does some things right but they continually do things poorly. They change their menu all the time without taking much consideration for frequent diners. The management continues to try and make Burdicks a more upscale place but its a sports bar in a hotel and it should just be left at that. Burdicks has some good drinks such as their kicked up beers, craft beers that have a shot of alcohol, but they are expensively priced. The food is good but typically not worth the price. Wait staff is excellent however.

I was hesitant to dine here based off of the low overall score, however we were staying at the Radisson... I was part of a larger group (half adults, half kids) that showed up unannounced. There was no problem finding us a spot where we could sit together and watch the Blackhawks game. The service was fantastic, our server handled the group extremely well and did not bat an eye at issuing separate checks AND matching the kids to the correct parent check. Food was very good and reasonably priced. If we are back next year for the soccer tournament, I would return to Burdick's without hesitation.

Sunday is half off drinks for all. I got a 22 ounce beer for $3.00. They have a nice little selection of different martini's. Cotton candy! The spinach dip is really good. The bartender is always really friendly and the place is clean. The crowd is of mixed ages, but about 75% guys. There is a small student menu, although an 18% gratuity is added on to it. Is this a 5 star restaurant? No. This is Kalamazoo, the best we have are chains.

Going to Burdick's is sort of like a bad habit. But as a college kid with not many options, it fits the bill. Drinks are pretty much average priced, the food can be decent, depending on what you order. The cajun chicken with pineapple is amazing and really the only reason I come, and for my vegan girlfriend they also have a decent black bean burger. To be honest, they probably have more selections for vegans/vegetarians than most other places in the area. And by that I mean a veggie burger and edamame. The reason I have to give them a mediocre/bad review is the sushi. Yeah, they went there, they made sushi. It was often dried out (don't know why I ordered more than once), and we find out they prepare it during the day and store it instead of preparing it fresh, which explains a lot. Basically, I think that says a lot about this place. Would kinda expect better from a restaurant at a 5 star hotel, though I guess if you want quality they have Zazios right next door. Basically, if you find something you like on the menu, stick with it next time. Don't explore, or you may find a trap.

The best thing that Burdicks has going for it is a great beer selection and awesome tv setup. Definitely a place to come to if your trying to grab a couple beers on the cheap and unwind. That being said, the food leaves a lot to be desired - especially the wings. The only thing that I can say is decent on the menu is the Jamaican jerk tenders.

Fun place to watch a game. Also might be good for a group since they've got a large menu to suit different tastes. When I went they had a seasonal specials menu also. Think beer holidays and then menus designed around them... Oktoberfest menu, St. Patrick's day menu, Cinco de Mayo menu... you get the idea I came here after a long day of traveling and it was super packed. They got us in and out in a reasonable amount of time.

The online reservation was very simple! Our Christmas Eve dinner was very good. We did have to wait just a little bit for our food. The waitress explained they had several large parties. This place really disappointed me being attached to one of the nicest hotels in town AND a local chain. Reviewing overall. Our server was either too busy or too distracted as we had to ask multiple times for beverages, clean silverware, forgotten drinks at the bar, to go containers, etc. My side salad was ice beg lettuce - not what I'd expect for this type of place. I'd had about 2 bites when my entree arrived with the explanation that the kitchen was trying to speed up their cooking times. By the time I finished my salad, my entree (the baked mac and cheese) was cold. Not that this would've helped as it tasted about as good as velveeta complete with the pouch cheese you squeeze over the pasta. Dessert sounded good especially when it was mentioned that the carrot cake was now homemade. However, it would take 15 min for the dessert tray to be "ready" for viewing. Does that mean it takes 15 min for thawing? The peanut butter pie, a generous portion, was amazing. Based on this experience, I won't be back nor would I recommend it to others. Bring back the good quality Burdick's I remember from years ago!

Good bar, lots of TVs, disappointing food Depending on what you're looking for, this place can be just fine, or a big disappointment. I certainly wouldn't recommend it as a restaurant unless you're in the mood for mediocre bar food. The menu is fairly extensive for a bar, but nothing was really all that good, aside from the wings. As a bar, it's pretty good, especially for sports with plenty of TVs providing decent views from most tables/seats. That said, I haven't been there on a big game day so can't vouch for the service or experience when it's really crowded. Food gets a 2, bar and TVs get a 3.5. Overall, I'll round up to a 3.

Service can be slow. The food is always good when you get it though and they have a pretty well stocked bar. Some people complain about drink prices. You get whAt you pay for though and burdicks drinks always have a good pour of liquor. I'd rather drink here than a lot of the bars downtown.

reviewing strictly as a bar - and by hotel bars this place is pretty crazy. more than just for those staying at the radisson, you can tell this place is a hot spot for locals. we did some GREAT people watching here. drinks were moderately priced and the bar-service good. ultimately would only come here if staying in the radisson.. i mean what's the fun of a hotel bar if you have to leave the building to go home?

The service here was the worst I've ever experienced at any restaurant. Every little thing took at least 15 minutes for the waitress to do, seriously. Okay, so on Sundays (and now Wednesdays) Burdick's has a half-off normal price Student Menu (with valid student ID). My best friend suggested we use this to our advantage and go check it out. We went on a Sunday evening for dinner and had a waitress who seemed to have the attitude of, "Well, it's Sunday and you guys are obviously students, which means that my tip is probably going to be non-existent, so I'm not even going to give a flying fart in space about you." And that's exactly what she did. We started off looking over the menu like any normal restaurant patrons would, our waitress came by, we said we'd like some more time to decide, and then we didn't see her for 15 minutes. We had been ready to order for at least 10 of those minutes. I can forgive this, right? I mean, we were the ones who had been indecisive. No problem. She finally comes around and we order. Our food takes at least 30 minutes, but it's tasty so I can forgive that; plus, it's super-ridiculously busy tonight. No problem...No problem. Then I realize that I would like some ranch for my fries; I don't see our waitress for another 15 minutes (not even a glimpse in order to flag her down). When she does eventually appear I tell her that I'd like some ranch, she runs off to get it, and I don't see her for...yes, you guessed it, another 15 minutes! WTF?! And I don't even say the "F" word. But seriously, WTF?! Yeah, I could excuse all the other times for basic waitressing stuff: super busy restaurant, possible restroom breaks, annoyance at us for being indecisive, etc., but this was getting flippin' absurd! And the night continued in the same fashion. Wanted a refill on my water (which a waiter/waitress should just do on their own without the prompting of the customer and which is also a major pet peeve of mine), it took 15 minutes. We decided to get dessert [Oh gosh, why did we decide to do that!? Were we really that ignorant to think she'd change her ways in the space of another FIFTEEN MINUTES (no pun intended)]? So we asked to see the dessert menu. 15 minutes. Told her what we wanted. Got the dessert in a timely manner (surprise, surprise). Finally we were satisfied with the stuffing of our faces and tried to find her so she could get the check. I suppose the fact that we wanted to split the check didn't help her, "I don't care about you" attitude, but that was her problem. At long last we found her, asked for the split check, and waited...another 15 minutes. Oh we couldn't have been happier to leave that hellhole if there had been free hundred dollar bills falling from the sky outside. Well...maybe. But no, this experience just all around sucked and that waitress should be fired if not already (since this was from 2 years ago). Bottom line: If you come here, don't expect great service, expect to wait 15 minutes...forever.

I absolutely hate this place. I've unfortunately been several times for friend's birthdays and other events and the service is always terrible. On every occasion, I've had to ask several times for refills or a glass of water and at least one persons order from my group gets messed up. There are too many other good bars and restaurants in the area to waste your time here. 11-17-09: Okay, they've updated their menu since my last report and it's much better. Service was better too so I'm willing to give them a fresh start. ;)

All of the reviews are pretty accurate on here already. You can east cheaply if you are a student here on Sundays, but don't expect too much in return. The atmosphere suffers from being located in a hotel, and without that, it isn't anything exciting. A little cheaper than a Fridays or Applebees, but the food, service, and atmosphere may has well been. anyways.

This was round two at Burdick's. we try to give places a second opportunity, but this place is awful. The only reason they get two stars is because the bar is well stocked and the big TV is great. First time through I had the Mac and cheese. Bland would the best way to describe it. Had it with the Goodyear shrimp. At least that's where I think they came from, since they were so rubbery. Friends that night both had chicken of some sort and said it was ok, but that's it. Round two was last night with a group of friends and they didn't do any better this time. I had the NY strip, medium, and it was. The menu said it was seasoned with Burdick's house seasoning, or something like that, but they must have been out, because all three steaks at the table were bland. Not so much as a hint of salt or pepper. The girlfriend had shrimp tacos... Small, over cooked shrimp, a ton of lettuce and stale tortillas... She was unimpressed. A friends girlfriend had the fish and chips, which was an oily mess. Another friend had the prime rib dip and she liked that, but at that point they were 1 for 6, which isn't very good. Service in the bar.... Good. Service in the dining area... Horrid. Slow, right next to rude and not very attentive. Heck, the kid stopped serving our food and walked away at one point leaving our food on the serving tray while half of us sat there like hungry chicks in the nest... Had they been slammed, I might have understood, but the place was less than half full, so they weren't stressed. They didn't even check on us after the food came. Had to chase some kid down for steak sauce. With so many other places to choose from in Kalamazoo, the entire group is done with Burdick's.

This was always a great hotel restaurant & bar and with their remodel only has improved the place. Forewarning: This is a biased review, as I've stayed at the Radisson in the late 90's and early 2000's and loved it then. My wife and I recently rolled into the Radisson at 1130 pm after a 6 hour drive, threw our bags in the room, went downstairs and drank in all the goodness of Burdick's in Kalamazoo, that being: lively hotel crowd at midnight; 15-20 flat screens including a huge "TV within a TV" boasting 10 TV's; FANTASTIC draft beer selection (and I don't care how cool you are, it is indeed fantastic for a hotel restaurant or anywhere else for that matter); and as always, killer food for a hotel casual restaurant! We ordered burgers and fries at 10 til midnight on a Thursday and sure enough, 7 minutes later out comes a monster burger grilled to our specs and well done fries. I realized then that this place hasn't missed a beat (gotten better in fact) and it would portend a great trip for us in kzoo and Grand Rapids. And it did. LOVE BURDICK'S. Would eat here anytime and every time I'm a guest at the Radisson.

We have been here a few times and have been increasingly more disappointed with each visit. The most recent time, our food was almost inedible. The guacamole was brown, the lettuce was brown, the multigrain bread tasted like feces, the rolls were rock hard (we were actually using them to make music), and we could tell the french fries had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours, if not a day or two. Absolutely gross. The service wasn't great either. Our server didn't offer to rectify any of the aforementioned problems and the manager never came to speak to us, despite our request for him/her to do so.

For quite a bit less, you can get nearly as good a burger at other local restaurants. Why do come here? It's a rhetorical question. The service is always marginal - "service with a sneer" I call it, more ubiquitous and endemic in Lansing than Kalamazoo - and the food is barely mediocre. I think maybe two of the twenty times I've eaten here it's been any good. The staff are often enough swag-obsessed douchebag college boys and girls, and the food is, at best, unimpressive. $21.00 for a 5oz. filet? Gimme a break. $4.00 for, literally, a cup masquerading as a bowl of watery tomato soup with a little ground beef and a couple beans in it they call "chili?" This is shameful. The burgers and some of the apps *can* be okay, and the decor is inoffensive and typical. I don't think I'll be back. Not for a good while, anyway.

The burger is real meat! I had the Olive Burger ($13) with no bun. Boursin Cheese Olive Spread! The meat could use a little salt and pepper... But the Large Ground on the table isn't the same (and who wants a crunchy burger anyways). I am being nit-picky. It came medium, perfectly cooked, with wilted field greens and fire-roasted tomato! Heaven! I also ordered the Truffle White Cheddar Fries ($2). It was a dry powdered type cheese (intentional) so that it perfectly enveloped each French fry. If you don't order this, someone should take the menu away from you until you behave correctly! Most sandwiches between $9-13, but elegant atmosphere, Sirius XM radio and great service! Mr. MVP and I are creatures of habit so if we find something we truly enjoy we revisit it again and again. Old Burdick's was on our list for one reason only, "The Big Turkey", but as of Friday we will not be returning. "The Big Turkey" used to be a glorious sandwich on two thickly sliced pieces of freshly toasted bread, stuffed full of oven baked turkey, tons of herb stuffing, slices of ripe tomato, piles of crisp lettuce, and layers of tangy cranberry mayo. This sandwich was my Thanksgiving Day dream come true served year round and the first two times I ordered it I was a happy eater. Within the past year, however, "The Big Turkey" has turned into a subpar excuse for a TV dinner on toasted white bread. A true disappointment. Mr. MVP being the adventurous sort that he is always orders something new and on Friday it was the Mac and Cheese. Most of it was burned on the top, but he said the rest was okay. Considering he'll eat anything his meal most likely came out of the same box mine did. The couple sitting next to us had their entire meal for free because they waited over an hour, but our service was quick and friendly. *If you go and feel the need to drink tea be advised that you will be getting a coffee cup full of tepid water, a tea bag and a plastic container full of honey for $3.00.*

Burdick's has come to surprise me recently. I'm guessing that a lot of the negative reviews are a reflection of their old menu, because their new menu is exponentially better. Great burgers, fries, sammies, etc. If you're a sports fan there's no better place in Kalamazoo to catch the game than on Burdick's jumbotron(s). Service is always friendly as well. Worth it!

We were there for Thanksgiving Day 2013 at about 630pm. $16 was the cost for a Thanksgiving dinner which had about a cupful of pulled dark and light turkey, an ice cream scoop of of mashed potatoes, a melon baller scoop of soupy dressing and whipped sweet potatoes equally and to top it all off a double shot glass full of your dessert of choice. NO bread or rolls or cranberry sauce. There was so much white on my square plate I thought they had run out of food. Ok if my description of how small and disappointing the presentation of the food is not sad enough let me further share that the turkey was COLD and congealed - the rest of the mini meal was warm. The service was fine and the restaurant was about half full. We stayed at a local B&B and other guests said they had the same experience but poor service. I have stayed at Radisson's all over the country at least 20 times in the past and NEVER was the food quality, quantity and presentation so disappointing. I have also had more than my fair share of restaurant holiday meals which were done right and for those of us who choose or have no choice to celebrate our holiday in public vs at home this was every reason to stay home and have a microwave dinner it would have been hot and more food at least. Whoever manages the Kalamazoo Burdick's Restaurant-----SHAME on you - what a terrible Thanksgiving meal and embarrassment for the Radisson.

So after driving around looking for the damnable Bells brewpub (unsuccessfully), we opted to take the easy way out and go here. Sat on the patio. The food was...eh. About the same as your average green n' brown (applebees/TGI Fridays/etc), but they do have a respectable array of beers on tap. I wouldn't avoid this place, but wouldn't go outta my way to get back here. I actually found the service to be pretty darn good, very friendly and accomodating.

I've eaten at some terrible places around the world but Old Burdick's takes the cake as the worst place to eat in Kalamazoo. Worst. The service is absolutely terrible. A recent example would be a work party where the food took 2 hours to reach our table. 2 hours. If you're a college student, it's worse as profiling runs rampant. Just to rub it in more, while waiting for the wait staff to finish smoking their rock in the back, you can see a group of hostesses / hosts chatting it up in the front area. The food is mediocre and overpriced. Expect normal sub-TGIF generic food that does not command a premium price. The fries are probably the best part but that's not saying much. The decor is nice if not in the bar area and that's probably the only good party of the experience. Regardless, I've dealt with management while on the job and I can see that the problems start at the top and roll on down. I'm pretty sure their target is the businessman who stays in the expensive Radison hotel that it's attached to. After getting his money that one time, they don't have to worry about repeat business so they treat everyone so. Old Burdicks is my least favorite place to eat in Kalamazoo and that's saying a lot.

This was a good place to come watch a game and eat good pub grub. During a stay at the hotel I came here twice. Once with a large group for dinner and then again with just one colleague for lunch. Both times the servers were great and the food was good! Maybe it's because I'm from Boston, but I also thought that the prices were great for the quality and quantity of food that you get. I would definitely come back if I was staying at the hotel again.

after walking around downtown kalamazoo aimlessly in some nasty, humid weather, my sweaty, impatient ass ended up back at my hotel, settling for this place with its lovely ac. I had the chipotle flat iron and jerk shrimp skewer with yukon smashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. the waitress asked if i wanted bacon and cheese with my potatoes; and with a smile and glossy eyes i said, "hell yeah." she was gorgeous. the food was mediocre. knowing i'd get hungry later on i ordered fried cheese to take up to my room. i say that like fried cheese is a cheap hooker and i'm a desperate, horny john with nothing to lose.

I come to the hotel on business sometimes and we usually go to Burdick's for dinner & drinks. As a vegetarian, I struggle to find something on the menu. The portabella sandwich is awful - WAY too salty. I think it's the mound of cheddar cheese but something was not right about this. Way too greasy too. I've also ordered the veggie burger which is standard for gardenburgers dressed as regular burgers. They serve yellow carrots. Weird. The last time I was there my group ordered dessert. This is where Burdick's gets it right. So maybe just go there for something sweet after you've gotten a better meal elsewhere.

hm, honestly, i didn't really get a positive impression of michigan of the haps, perhaps because i was secluded in the suburbs... i'm not bitching, (trust me, i can be a "tourist" of your area, and i can actually be content with you just driving around aimlessly... OK JUICE! sure, u can tell a lot by the car or what impresses a girl or what not, BUT, i'm not like the typical girls:p). came here around 10ish, and it was pretty busy. i felt as if i was in a time machine taken back into my college days. there was a huge mix of people, and honestly, it was a fun mix. considering that this place is inside the radisson, i'm not used to going to a hotel to watch a game with a whole range of people. anyways. it was nice to watch 3 diff games on their main screen MLB (cubs vs. white sox, detroit vs. cardinals), NBA (suns vs. spurs). drinks were yuck. their appetizers were yuck x2. fun to hang out and have fun, but not an everyday i would come to chills and have a good time, mebe for a game or two, and maybe just to catch up with friends, but def NOT for the drinks/food. dont tell me later that i didn't warn ya! considering that this is inside the hotel, parking is free. quite impressive.

Well, here we go. I'm in from out of town with some of my closest friends and we meet up with a fourth friend here. We sit down on a Friday night and it doesn't seem that busy but for some odd reason it takes our waitress about 15 minutes to take our drink orders. Which is kind of irritating but I've worked in restaurants my whole life and I understand that things like this can happen so we let it slide. Once we got our beer we didn't see her again for 20 minutes when we clearly wanted to order dinner (menus in hands is usually a clear sign). It finally took one of my friends to walk over to her and tell her we wanted to order. We ordered nachos and a sandwich to split between four people not to mention another round. 35 minutes later no 2nd round of beer no food and we've been in this establishment for an hour and 10 minutes. So after she's been clearly avoiding our whole section (the table next to us had empty cups and no food as well) I've had enough and asked her to cash out. No apology was said instead she got all snippy and rude with me saying my food is coming right out. Fine, okay. Food finally arrives (and beer) and she insults me by saying her ticket time had a 35 wait time on it and that's not bad and continued to argue with me even though I have texts from the table with time stamps on it stating different....Turns out the nachos were burnt and sat under a heat lamp for way too long and my friends sandwich was so dry and awful that they didn't finish it. So... An hour and a half all together for 2 beers, crappy overpriced food and horrible staff means I will never be back and I will most definitely never recommend this to anyone.

I had a great experience at Burdick's a few nights ago. On Sundays, they are featuring a Prix Fixe menu. For $25 my friend and I got an appetizer to share, an entree each and a dessert each. We had the chips with salsa and guacamole for an appetizer. Burdick's has my favorite chips and salsa in town. I remember trying the guacamole years ago and not caring for it. The recipe or distributor must have changed because the guacamole is much better now! I had a Burdick's burger for my entree. The burger was juicy and perfectly prepared. The bun was soft. My fries were too good. For dessert, I tried the Bananas Foster shot glass cake. Again, I was very impressed. Another bonus to eating on a Sunday night was that all draught beers were 1/2 off and well drinks were $3.

After a long day of seminars, I'm tired and I'm hungry and in need of a big juicy BURGER!!! I stumble across Burdick's as I completed my retail therapy session at another store in the Radisson hotel. As I walk in, I was immediately greeted by a hostess and seated. Shortly after my amazing & attentive server David took my drink order. Since I'd never been to this restaurant, I had many questions about the menu. David did a quick yet informative run down of his and customer favorite dishes. He sold me on the bacon jam burger, which is something I normally would not order. I'M GLAD I DID!! Weird of advice: A MEDIUM BURGER IS THE WAY TO GO... The beef was comprised of good quality ground cuts of beef and the bacon jam was smoky with a hint of sweetness. SO FREAKIN DELICIOUS!!!! I also had side of fries. The fries were freshly cooked and seasoned with just enough salt. To finish up my meal I ordered the cookie dough brownie. As I salivate from reminiscing about this treat all I can say is YUMMO!!! I truly enjoyed my experience at Burdick's. I hope you all take my experience and try it for yourself

Another 30 minutes goes by, I call and am informed they are now closed. Even if the food is great, you may not actually get to try it. Luckily for me, I had a bag of trail mix laying around. This has been one of our family favorites growing up mostly due to one thing- the Jamaican jerk sauce. It goes fantastically with everything, especially French fries and chicken. We have been known to purchase it in a pint and simply dip bread, crackers, and chips in it just as a snack. With that being said, their food is good, but not great (considering prices they charge). I have no complaints, but I'm not blown away by the food. Since the jerk sauce is made in-house each day, it can vary in consistency and flavor. It usually keeps things exciting, but can be disappointing if it's subpar compared to what we'd expect. It's in a great location within the recently renovated Radisson Hotel within downtown Kalamazoo. The main area is like an upscale sports bar, but it does have expansive seating areas that are less of the sporty feel. However, there are TVs throughout for those sports enthusiasts that need the constant stream of action. The service is typically pretty good, though I did get a whole container of jerk sauce dumped in my lap on one occasion. The server was very apologetic when this happened and I actually ended up with the recipe for the jerk sauce to make sure "nothing stained". It all worked out though and I have been able to replicate the jerk sauce for my own use down in Indianapolis. It remains close to my heart partly due to all of the memories there, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for some good grub in downtown Kalamazoo!

Went here for Brunch on a Thanksgiving day. I thought it would be busier than it was. It's hard to beat being at home with a big family feast on Thanksgiving, but the food and staff made yo feel you were at home. They offered a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, as well as other dinner options. They do a good job of using some of the great Michigan beers in their entrees.

Drinks are strong,but did I mention how expensive they are? My second choice was the boneless wings from another waitress with the worst attitude ever. 2 apps and 3 drinks was $60 bucks. Was in town with some co-workers and we were staying at the Radisson. We decided to try Old Burdick's. Yeah...it wasn't a great decision. We sat down and our waiter came over. Our drink order was not complicated, nothing that required mixing, just wine or scotch. Literally 20 minutes went by and we didn't have any drinks. We waved him over and he apologized. He got our drinks and we ordered dinner. I got the jalapeno burger, everyone else got some version of the tacos. Again, we waited a ridiculously long time for food and our drinks were empty, no refills ever came until the food was delivered. This seemed to be a universal problem. The table behind us suffered the same fate. Finally, the food came. I do have to admit, the burger was really good. The fries were the worst fries I've ever eaten. They were cold and soggy, like they had been sitting around for a long time. Everyone else liked their tacos well enough. Then we had to literally get up and chase the waiter down to get our bill. The waitstaff are either not trained at all or just really don't care because they certainly weren't busy. None of the tables were getting good service, from what I could see.

I must say, this is some of the best food I had in a while and good service! I ordered Blacken Chicken Pasta and my wife orders the Angry Bird. A must try for first timers. Stopped by on a Sunday and had some delicious beers with AWESOME nachos as a stop on a mini pub crawl as new Michiganders. My boyfriend LOVES this place, as he stayed at the hotel while interviewing before we moved and ate almost every meal here. It's a large bar, plenty of tvs and room for lots of patrons. Our waitress was prompt and very sweet, and I really have nothing bad to say about it!

I got grilled Atlantic salmon. Came with a side of green beans and wild rice. Got guacamole and salsa with chips as appetizer. The salmon was 5 stars. Green beans tasted fresh and cooked well yet still a bit crisp 5 Star green beans. 3 star rice seemed a bit tired. 3.5 star guacamole it was good but not great. Salsa 4 stars was good. Greasy chips 2 stars needs some work. Service 5 stars. Atmosphere 5 stars. Margarita 4.5 stars. Overall a 4 star experience. Sampled girlfriends cod fish and chips and they were really quality too. Judging by previous reviews got lucky with no major wait times and good service all around. Sunday night snowing pretty good outside not crowded though. Had to overhear some idiot doctors say the word colon one too many times that I almost offered mine up for an exam post meal Heineken but held back. Maybe next time. Last time they refused to wait on me and the kalamazoo radisson management has failed me in the past but oh well I am very forgiving person and this time was fun and delicious experience. Tipped 35% for top tier service.

This review is quite overdue as my experience here actually took place in February. I made a reservation through OpenTable.com several weeks in advance because I was afraid that there might be too much of a line with all the festivals, conferences and private parties that would be in town at the time. The place is quite spread out and on different levels but there are wheelchair ramps in place. The friendly, helpful staff was expecting me and made aware, by open Table, that I had some difficulty walking and would likely not be able to speak with them (left vocal cord is damaged). I had the Old Burdick's Club Sandwich (I am not all that adventurous); turkey, Hormel cured ham, pecan smoked bacon,Swiss cheese and mayo on butter grilled whole grain bread served with fries - mmmmmmmmm. I observed that staff was Kind and attentive but not intrusive for each table. I decided to try the 'Brownie A La Mode'. I was not prepared for what arrived! It could have served three or four people! It was delicious and I was afraid that my belt would fail as I waddled out.

We stayed in the hotel and made reservations at websters which was terrible so we ended up here thinking we can atleast get something decent in our stomachs, we ordered the turkey burger and quesadilla w beef I ended up returning the turkey burger it was overcooked dry and tasteless and my fiancé ate as much as he could but just what he needed in his stomach, does anyone in this town know how to cook !!

Ehhhhhhh, not blown away. I have eaten and drank here many times in the past. I have never been blow away by the food, service or drinks. The bar is decent and they do have a good selection of beers on draft. Unfortunately the food is just not that great. The wait times for food, drinks and service have been long. One night at the bar we saw our food sitting on the other side of the bar. After 20 ominutes the bartender finally came over and brought our cold food. Though to his credit he did comp the food. We have gone back here several times hoping that things will be better but they just aren't. There are many better places around downtown.

This was always a great hotel restaurant & bar and with their remodel only has improved the place. Forewarning: This is a biased review, as I've stayed at the Radisson in the late 90's and early 2000's and loved it then. My wife and I recently rolled into the Radisson at 1130 pm after a 6 hour drive, threw our bags in the room, went downstairs and drank in all the goodness of Burdick's in Kalamazoo, that being: lively hotel crowd at midnight; 15-20 flat screens including a huge "TV within a TV" boasting 10 TV's; FANTASTIC draft beer selection (and I don't care how cool you are, it is indeed fantastic for a hotel restaurant or anywhere else for that matter); and as always, killer food for a hotel casual restaurant! We ordered burgers and fries at 10 til midnight on a Thursday and sure enough, 7 minutes later out comes a monster burger grilled to our specs and well done fries. I realized then that this place hasn't missed a beat (gotten better in fact) and it would portend a great trip for us in kzoo and Grand Rapids. And it did. LOVE BURDICK'S. Would eat here anytime and every time I'm a guest at the Radisson.

We have been here a few times and have been increasingly more disappointed with each visit. The most recent time, our food was almost inedible. The guacamole was brown, the lettuce was brown, the multigrain bread tasted like feces, the rolls were rock hard (we were actually using them to make music), and we could tell the french fries had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours, if not a day or two. Absolutely gross. The service wasn't great either. Our server didn't offer to rectify any of the aforementioned problems and the manager never came to speak to us, despite our request for him/her to do so.

I want to give Burdick's a better rating, but I feel like 3 is too high. I am giving this higher rating because our lunch server today was excellent. The food, given the quality, is overpriced. For quite a bit less, you can get nearly as good a burger at other local restaurants. The atmosphere is nice for groups, and the guacamole is excellent, but otherwise I am frequently disappointed when I go here.

Why do come here? It's a rhetorical question. The service is always marginal - "service with a sneer" I call it, more ubiquitous and endemic in Lansing than Kalamazoo - and the food is barely mediocre. I think maybe two of the twenty times I've eaten here it's been any good. The staff are often enough swag-obsessed douchebag college boys and girls, and the food is, at best, unimpressive. $21.00 for a 5oz. filet? Gimme a break. $4.00 for, literally, a cup masquerading as a bowl of watery tomato soup with a little ground beef and a couple beans in it they call "chili?" This is shameful. The burgers and some of the apps *can* be okay, and the decor is inoffensive and typical. I don't think I'll be back. Not for a good while, anyway.

The burger is real meat! I had the Olive Burger ($13) with no bun. Boursin Cheese Olive Spread! The meat could use a little salt and pepper... But the Large Ground on the table isn't the same (and who wants a crunchy burger anyways). I am being nit-picky. It came medium, perfectly cooked, with wilted field greens and fire-roasted tomato! Heaven! I also ordered the Truffle White Cheddar Fries ($2). It was a dry powdered type cheese (intentional) so that it perfectly enveloped each French fry. If you don't order this, someone should take the menu away from you until you behave correctly! Most sandwiches between $9-13, but elegant atmosphere, Sirius XM radio and great service! Thank you Amber! Save me a seat... I WILL be back!

We were there for Thanksgiving Day 2013 at about 630pm. $16 was the cost for a Thanksgiving dinner which had about a cupful of pulled dark and light turkey, an ice cream scoop of of mashed potatoes, a melon baller scoop of soupy dressing and whipped sweet potatoes equally and to top it all off a double shot glass full of your dessert of choice. NO bread or rolls or cranberry sauce. There was so much white on my square plate I thought they had run out of food. Ok if my description of how small and disappointing the presentation of the food is not sad enough let me further share that the turkey was COLD and congealed - the rest of the mini meal was warm. The service was fine and the restaurant was about half full. We stayed at a local B&B and other guests said they had the same experience but poor service. I have stayed at Radisson's all over the country at least 20 times in the past and NEVER was the food quality, quantity and presentation so disappointing. I have also had more than my fair share of restaurant holiday meals which were done right and for those of us who choose or have no choice to celebrate our holiday in public vs at home this was every reason to stay home and have a microwave dinner it would have been hot and more food at least. Whoever manages the Kalamazoo Burdick's Restaurant-----SHAME on you - what a terrible Thanksgiving meal and embarrassment for the Radisson.

Burdick's has come to surprise me recently. I'm guessing that a lot of the negative reviews are a reflection of their old menu, because their new menu is exponentially better. Great burgers, fries, sammies, etc. If you're a sports fan there's no better place in Kalamazoo to catch the game than on Burdick's jumbotron(s). Service is always friendly as well. Worth it!

This was round two at Burdick's. we try to give places a second opportunity, but this place is awful. The only reason they get two stars is because the bar is well stocked and the big TV is great. First time through I had the Mac and cheese. Bland would the best way to describe it. Had it with the Goodyear shrimp. At least that's where I think they came from, since they were so rubbery. Friends that night both had chicken of some sort and said it was ok, but that's it. Round two was last night with a group of friends and they didn't do any better this time. I had the NY strip, medium, and it was. The menu said it was seasoned with Burdick's house seasoning, or something like that, but they must have been out, because all three steaks at the table were bland. Not so much as a hint of salt or pepper. The girlfriend had shrimp tacos... Small, over cooked shrimp, a ton of lettuce and stale tortillas... She was unimpressed. A friends girlfriend had the fish and chips, which was an oily mess. Another friend had the prime rib dip and she liked that, but at that point they were 1 for 6, which isn't very good. Service in the bar.... Good. Service in the dining area... Horrid. Slow, right next to rude and not very attentive. Heck, the kid stopped serving our food and walked away at one point leaving our food on the serving tray while half of us sat there like hungry chicks in the nest... Had they been slammed, I might have understood, but the place was less than half full, so they weren't stressed. They didn't even check on us after the food came. Had to chase some kid down for steak sauce. With so many other places to choose from in Kalamazoo, the entire group is done with Burdick's.

Mr. MVP and I are creatures of habit so if we find something we truly enjoy we revisit it again and again. Old Burdick's was on our list for one reason only, "The Big Turkey", but as of Friday we will not be returning. "The Big Turkey" used to be a glorious sandwich on two thickly sliced pieces of freshly toasted bread, stuffed full of oven baked turkey, tons of herb stuffing, slices of ripe tomato, piles of crisp lettuce, and layers of tangy cranberry mayo. This sandwich was my Thanksgiving Day dream come true served year round and the first two times I ordered it I was a happy eater. Within the past year, however, "The Big Turkey" has turned into a subpar excuse for a TV dinner on toasted white bread. A true disappointment. Mr. MVP being the adventurous sort that he is always orders something new and on Friday it was the Mac and Cheese. Most of it was burned on the top, but he said the rest was okay. Considering he'll eat anything his meal most likely came out of the same box mine did. The couple sitting next to us had their entire meal for free because they waited over an hour, but our service was quick and friendly. *If you go and feel the need to drink tea be advised that you will be getting a coffee cup full of tepid water, a tea bag and a plastic container full of honey for $3.00.*

The hostess was wonderful when we arrived but that is where the hospitality ceased. We wanted to sit at the bar but there was a wait. We decided to get drinks at the bar and after we ordered our bar table became available. We took our drinks to the table and apparently this was offensive to our server Mike. He told us only to buy from him if we were going to sit at his high top table. You see, he had been there since 10am and was putting himself through school. He needed our tip money. I asked if he was scolding us and he pretty much said yes. I wasn't terribly friendly after that and we left as soon as our drinks were gone. I have gotten drinks at the bar many times when waiting so I was pretty surprised by this guy's attitude.

Burdicks does some things right but they continually do things poorly. They change their menu all the time without taking much consideration for frequent diners. The management continues to try and make Burdicks a more upscale place but its a sports bar in a hotel and it should just be left at that. Burdicks has some good drinks such as their kicked up beers, craft beers that have a shot of alcohol, but they are expensively priced. The food is good but typically not worth the price. Wait staff is excellent however.

I was hesitant to dine here based off of the low overall score, however we were staying at the Radisson... I was part of a larger group (half adults, half kids) that showed up unannounced. There was no problem finding us a spot where we could sit together and watch the Blackhawks game. The service was fantastic, our server handled the group extremely well and did not bat an eye at issuing separate checks AND matching the kids to the correct parent check. Food was very good and reasonably priced. If we are back next year for the soccer tournament, I would return to Burdick's without hesitation.

Going to Burdick's is sort of like a bad habit. But as a college kid with not many options, it fits the bill. Drinks are pretty much average priced, the food can be decent, depending on what you order. The cajun chicken with pineapple is amazing and really the only reason I come, and for my vegan girlfriend they also have a decent black bean burger. To be honest, they probably have more selections for vegans/vegetarians than most other places in the area. And by that I mean a veggie burger and edamame. The reason I have to give them a mediocre/bad review is the sushi. Yeah, they went there, they made sushi. It was often dried out (don't know why I ordered more than once), and we find out they prepare it during the day and store it instead of preparing it fresh, which explains a lot. Basically, I think that says a lot about this place. Would kinda expect better from a restaurant at a 5 star hotel, though I guess if you want quality they have Zazios right next door. Basically, if you find something you like on the menu, stick with it next time. Don't explore, or you may find a trap.

after walking around downtown kalamazoo aimlessly in some nasty, humid weather, my sweaty, impatient ass ended up back at my hotel, settling for this place with its lovely ac. I had the chipotle flat iron and jerk shrimp skewer with yukon smashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. the waitress asked if i wanted bacon and cheese with my potatoes; and with a smile and glossy eyes i said, "hell yeah." she was gorgeous. the food was mediocre. knowing i'd get hungry later on i ordered fried cheese to take up to my room. i say that like fried cheese is a cheap hooker and i'm a desperate, horny john with nothing to lose.

I come to the hotel on business sometimes and we usually go to Burdick's for dinner & drinks. As a vegetarian, I struggle to find something on the menu. The portabella sandwich is awful - WAY too salty. I think it's the mound of cheddar cheese but something was not right about this. Way too greasy too. I've also ordered the veggie burger which is standard for gardenburgers dressed as regular burgers. They serve yellow carrots. Weird. The last time I was there my group ordered dessert. This is where Burdick's gets it right. So maybe just go there for something sweet after you've gotten a better meal elsewhere.

I must say, this is some of the best food I had in a while and good service! I ordered Blacken Chicken Pasta and my wife orders the Angry Bird. A must try for first timers. The house Sangria is very delicious! Or server was great! Very polite, she checked on us quite often to make sure we were doing fine. We will definitely be back!!!

Stopped by on a Sunday and had some delicious beers with AWESOME nachos as a stop on a mini pub crawl as new Michiganders. My boyfriend LOVES this place, as he stayed at the hotel while interviewing before we moved and ate almost every meal here. It's a large bar, plenty of tvs and room for lots of patrons. Our waitress was prompt and very sweet, and I really have nothing bad to say about it!

good food, cold fries waitress blamed slow service on new computer. they were busy. parked in city ramp, all elevators were out of order. the pass to get out of park ramp "null and void" had to call person to let me out. I do not believe front desk activated the parking card.

I got grilled Atlantic salmon. Came with a side of green beans and wild rice. Got guacamole and salsa with chips as appetizer. The salmon was 5 stars. Green beans tasted fresh and cooked well yet still a bit crisp 5 Star green beans. 3 star rice seemed a bit tired. 3.5 star guacamole it was good but not great. Salsa 4 stars was good. Greasy chips 2 stars needs some work. Service 5 stars. Atmosphere 5 stars. Margarita 4.5 stars. Overall a 4 star experience. Sampled girlfriends cod fish and chips and they were really quality too. Judging by previous reviews got lucky with no major wait times and good service all around. Sunday night snowing pretty good outside not crowded though. Had to overhear some idiot doctors say the word colon one too many times that I almost offered mine up for an exam post meal Heineken but held back. Maybe next time. Last time they refused to wait on me and the kalamazoo radisson management has failed me in the past but oh well I am very forgiving person and this time was fun and delicious experience. Tipped 35% for top tier service.

This review is quite overdue as my experience here actually took place in February. I made a reservation through OpenTable.com several weeks in advance because I was afraid that there might be too much of a line with all the festivals, conferences and private parties that would be in town at the time. The place is quite spread out and on different levels but there are wheelchair ramps in place. The friendly, helpful staff was expecting me and made aware, by open Table, that I had some difficulty walking and would likely not be able to speak with them (left vocal cord is damaged). I had the Old Burdick's Club Sandwich (I am not all that adventurous); turkey, Hormel cured ham, pecan smoked bacon,Swiss cheese and mayo on butter grilled whole grain bread served with fries - mmmmmmmmm. I observed that staff was Kind and attentive but not intrusive for each table. I decided to try the 'Brownie A La Mode'. I was not prepared for what arrived! It could have served three or four people! It was delicious and I was afraid that my belt would fail as I waddled out.

Not good, We ended up here, I planned a night out for my fiancés bday. We stayed in the hotel and made reservations at websters which was terrible so we ended up here thinking we can atleast get something decent in our stomachs, we ordered the turkey burger and quesadilla w beef I ended up returning the turkey burger it was overcooked dry and tasteless and my fiancé ate as much as he could but just what he needed in his stomach, does anyone in this town know how to cook !!

Ehhhhhhh, not blown away. I have eaten and drank here many times in the past. I have never been blow away by the food, service or drinks. The bar is decent and they do have a good selection of beers on draft. Unfortunately the food is just not that great. The wait times for food, drinks and service have been long. One night at the bar we saw our food sitting on the other side of the bar. After 20 ominutes the bartender finally came over and brought our cold food. Though to his credit he did comp the food. We have gone back here several times hoping that things will be better but they just aren't. There are many better places around downtown.

Well, here we go. I'm in from out of town with some of my closest friends and we meet up with a fourth friend here. We sit down on a Friday night and it doesn't seem that busy but for some odd reason it takes our waitress about 15 minutes to take our drink orders. Which is kind of irritating but I've worked in restaurants my whole life and I understand that things like this can happen so we let it slide. Once we got our beer we didn't see her again for 20 minutes when we clearly wanted to order dinner (menus in hands is usually a clear sign). It finally took one of my friends to walk over to her and tell her we wanted to order. We ordered nachos and a sandwich to split between four people not to mention another round. 35 minutes later no 2nd round of beer no food and we've been in this establishment for an hour and 10 minutes. So after she's been clearly avoiding our whole section (the table next to us had empty cups and no food as well) I've had enough and asked her to cash out. No apology was said instead she got all snippy and rude with me saying my food is coming right out. Fine, okay. Food finally arrives (and beer) and she insults me by saying her ticket time had a 35 wait time on it and that's not bad and continued to argue with me even though I have texts from the table with time stamps on it stating different....Turns out the nachos were burnt and sat under a heat lamp for way too long and my friends sandwich was so dry and awful that they didn't finish it. So... An hour and a half all together for 2 beers, crappy overpriced food and horrible staff means I will never be back and I will most definitely never recommend this to anyone.

I had a great experience at Burdick's a few nights ago. On Sundays, they are featuring a Prix Fixe menu. For $25 my friend and I got an appetizer to share, an entree each and a dessert each. We had the chips with salsa and guacamole for an appetizer. Burdick's has my favorite chips and salsa in town. I remember trying the guacamole years ago and not caring for it. The recipe or distributor must have changed because the guacamole is much better now! I had a Burdick's burger for my entree. The burger was juicy and perfectly prepared. The bun was soft. My fries were too good. For dessert, I tried the Bananas Foster shot glass cake. Again, I was very impressed. Another bonus to eating on a Sunday night was that all draught beers were 1/2 off and well drinks were $3.

After a long day of seminars, I'm tired and I'm hungry and in need of a big juicy BURGER!!! I stumble across Burdick's as I completed my retail therapy session at another store in the Radisson hotel. As I walk in, I was immediately greeted by a hostess and seated. Shortly after my amazing & attentive server David took my drink order. Since I'd never been to this restaurant, I had many questions about the menu. David did a quick yet informative run down of his and customer favorite dishes. He sold me on the bacon jam burger, which is something I normally would not order. I'M GLAD I DID!! Weird of advice: A MEDIUM BURGER IS THE WAY TO GO... The beef was comprised of good quality ground cuts of beef and the bacon jam was smoky with a hint of sweetness. SO FREAKIN DELICIOUS!!!! I also had side of fries. The fries were freshly cooked and seasoned with just enough salt. To finish up my meal I ordered the cookie dough brownie. As I salivate from reminiscing about this treat all I can say is YUMMO!!! I truly enjoyed my experience at Burdick's. I hope you all take my experience and try it for yourself

This was always a great hotel restaurant & bar and with their remodel only has improved the place. Forewarning: This is a biased review, as I've stayed at the Radisson in the late 90's and early 2000's and loved it then. My wife and I recently rolled into the Radisson at 1130 pm after a 6 hour drive, threw our bags in the room, went downstairs and drank in all the goodness of Burdick's in Kalamazoo, that being: lively hotel crowd at midnight; 15-20 flat screens including a huge "TV within a TV" boasting 10 TV's; FANTASTIC draft beer selection (and I don't care how cool you are, it is indeed fantastic for a hotel restaurant or anywhere else for that matter); and as always, killer food for a hotel casual restaurant! We ordered burgers and fries at 10 til midnight on a Thursday and sure enough, 7 minutes later out comes a monster burger grilled to our specs and well done fries. I realized then that this place hasn't missed a beat (gotten better in fact) and it would portend a great trip for us in kzoo and Grand Rapids. And it did. LOVE BURDICK'S. Would eat here anytime and every time I'm a guest at the Radisson.

We have been here a few times and have been increasingly more disappointed with each visit. The most recent time, our food was almost inedible. The guacamole was brown, the lettuce was brown, the multigrain bread tasted like feces, the rolls were rock hard (we were actually using them to make music), and we could tell the french fries had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours, if not a day or two. Absolutely gross. The service wasn't great either. Our server didn't offer to rectify any of the aforementioned problems and the manager never came to speak to us, despite our request for him/her to do so.

I want to give Burdick's a better rating, but I feel like 3 is too high. I am giving this higher rating because our lunch server today was excellent. The food, given the quality, is overpriced. For quite a bit less, you can get nearly as good a burger at other local restaurants. The atmosphere is nice for groups, and the guacamole is excellent, but otherwise I am frequently disappointed when I go here.

Why do come here? It's a rhetorical question. The service is always marginal - "service with a sneer" I call it, more ubiquitous and endemic in Lansing than Kalamazoo - and the food is barely mediocre. I think maybe two of the twenty times I've eaten here it's been any good. The staff are often enough swag-obsessed douchebag college boys and girls, and the food is, at best, unimpressive. $21.00 for a 5oz. filet? Gimme a break. $4.00 for, literally, a cup masquerading as a bowl of watery tomato soup with a little ground beef and a couple beans in it they call "chili?" This is shameful. The burgers and some of the apps *can* be okay, and the decor is inoffensive and typical. I don't think I'll be back. Not for a good while, anyway.

The burger is real meat! I had the Olive Burger ($13) with no bun. Boursin Cheese Olive Spread! The meat could use a little salt and pepper... But the Large Ground on the table isn't the same (and who wants a crunchy burger anyways). I am being nit-picky. It came medium, perfectly cooked, with wilted field greens and fire-roasted tomato! Heaven! I also ordered the Truffle White Cheddar Fries ($2). It was a dry powdered type cheese (intentional) so that it perfectly enveloped each French fry. If you don't order this, someone should take the menu away from you until you behave correctly! Most sandwiches between $9-13, but elegant atmosphere, Sirius XM radio and great service! Thank you Amber! Save me a seat... I WILL be back!

We were there for Thanksgiving Day 2013 at about 630pm. $16 was the cost for a Thanksgiving dinner which had about a cupful of pulled dark and light turkey, an ice cream scoop of of mashed potatoes, a melon baller scoop of soupy dressing and whipped sweet potatoes equally and to top it all off a double shot glass full of your dessert of choice. NO bread or rolls or cranberry sauce. There was so much white on my square plate I thought they had run out of food. Ok if my description of how small and disappointing the presentation of the food is not sad enough let me further share that the turkey was COLD and congealed - the rest of the mini meal was warm. The service was fine and the restaurant was about half full. We stayed at a local B&B and other guests said they had the same experience but poor service. I have stayed at Radisson's all over the country at least 20 times in the past and NEVER was the food quality, quantity and presentation so disappointing. I have also had more than my fair share of restaurant holiday meals which were done right and for those of us who choose or have no choice to celebrate our holiday in public vs at home this was every reason to stay home and have a microwave dinner it would have been hot and more food at least. Whoever manages the Kalamazoo Burdick's Restaurant-----SHAME on you - what a terrible Thanksgiving meal and embarrassment for the Radisson.

Burdick's has come to surprise me recently. I'm guessing that a lot of the negative reviews are a reflection of their old menu, because their new menu is exponentially better. Great burgers, fries, sammies, etc. If you're a sports fan there's no better place in Kalamazoo to catch the game than on Burdick's jumbotron(s). Service is always friendly as well. Worth it!

This was round two at Burdick's. we try to give places a second opportunity, but this place is awful. The only reason they get two stars is because the bar is well stocked and the big TV is great. First time through I had the Mac and cheese. Bland would the best way to describe it. Had it with the Goodyear shrimp. At least that's where I think they came from, since they were so rubbery. Friends that night both had chicken of some sort and said it was ok, but that's it. Round two was last night with a group of friends and they didn't do any better this time. I had the NY strip, medium, and it was. The menu said it was seasoned with Burdick's house seasoning, or something like that, but they must have been out, because all three steaks at the table were bland. Not so much as a hint of salt or pepper. The girlfriend had shrimp tacos... Small, over cooked shrimp, a ton of lettuce and stale tortillas... She was unimpressed. A friends girlfriend had the fish and chips, which was an oily mess. Another friend had the prime rib dip and she liked that, but at that point they were 1 for 6, which isn't very good. Service in the bar.... Good. Service in the dining area... Horrid. Slow, right next to rude and not very attentive. Heck, the kid stopped serving our food and walked away at one point leaving our food on the serving tray while half of us sat there like hungry chicks in the nest... Had they been slammed, I might have understood, but the place was less than half full, so they weren't stressed. They didn't even check on us after the food came. Had to chase some kid down for steak sauce. With so many other places to choose from in Kalamazoo, the entire group is done with Burdick's.

Mr. MVP and I are creatures of habit so if we find something we truly enjoy we revisit it again and again. Old Burdick's was on our list for one reason only, "The Big Turkey", but as of Friday we will not be returning. "The Big Turkey" used to be a glorious sandwich on two thickly sliced pieces of freshly toasted bread, stuffed full of oven baked turkey, tons of herb stuffing, slices of ripe tomato, piles of crisp lettuce, and layers of tangy cranberry mayo. This sandwich was my Thanksgiving Day dream come true served year round and the first two times I ordered it I was a happy eater. Within the past year, however, "The Big Turkey" has turned into a subpar excuse for a TV dinner on toasted white bread. A true disappointment. Mr. MVP being the adventurous sort that he is always orders something new and on Friday it was the Mac and Cheese. Most of it was burned on the top, but he said the rest was okay. Considering he'll eat anything his meal most likely came out of the same box mine did. The couple sitting next to us had their entire meal for free because they waited over an hour, but our service was quick and friendly. *If you go and feel the need to drink tea be advised that you will be getting a coffee cup full of tepid water, a tea bag and a plastic container full of honey for $3.00.*

The hostess was wonderful when we arrived but that is where the hospitality ceased. We wanted to sit at the bar but there was a wait. We decided to get drinks at the bar and after we ordered our bar table became available. We took our drinks to the table and apparently this was offensive to our server Mike. He told us only to buy from him if we were going to sit at his high top table. You see, he had been there since 10am and was putting himself through school. He needed our tip money. I asked if he was scolding us and he pretty much said yes. I wasn't terribly friendly after that and we left as soon as our drinks were gone. I have gotten drinks at the bar many times when waiting so I was pretty surprised by this guy's attitude.

Burdicks does some things right but they continually do things poorly. They change their menu all the time without taking much consideration for frequent diners. The management continues to try and make Burdicks a more upscale place but its a sports bar in a hotel and it should just be left at that. Burdicks has some good drinks such as their kicked up beers, craft beers that have a shot of alcohol, but they are expensively priced. The food is good but typically not worth the price. Wait staff is excellent however.

reviewing strictly as a bar - and by hotel bars this place is pretty crazy. more than just for those staying at the radisson, you can tell this place is a hot spot for locals. we did some GREAT people watching here. drinks were moderately priced and the bar-service good. ultimately would only come here if staying in the radisson.. i mean what's the fun of a hotel bar if you have to leave the building to go home?

Sunday is half off drinks for all. I got a 22 ounce beer for $3.00. They have a nice little selection of different martini's. Cotton candy! The spinach dip is really good. The bartender is always really friendly and the place is clean. The crowd is of mixed ages, but about 75% guys. There is a small student menu, although an 18% gratuity is added on to it. Is this a 5 star restaurant? No. This is Kalamazoo, the best we have are chains.

All of the reviews are pretty accurate on here already. You can east cheaply if you are a student here on Sundays, but don't expect too much in return. The atmosphere suffers from being located in a hotel, and without that, it isn't anything exciting. A little cheaper than a Fridays or Applebees, but the food, service, and atmosphere may has well been. anyways.

I've eaten at some terrible places around the world but Old Burdick's takes the cake as the worst place to eat in Kalamazoo. Worst. The service is absolutely terrible. A recent example would be a work party where the food took 2 hours to reach our table. 2 hours. If you're a college student, it's worse as profiling runs rampant. Just to rub it in more, while waiting for the wait staff to finish smoking their rock in the back, you can see a group of hostesses / hosts chatting it up in the front area. The food is mediocre and overpriced. Expect normal sub-TGIF generic food that does not command a premium price. The fries are probably the best part but that's not saying much. The decor is nice if not in the bar area and that's probably the only good party of the experience. Regardless, I've dealt with management while on the job and I can see that the problems start at the top and roll on down. I'm pretty sure their target is the businessman who stays in the expensive Radison hotel that it's attached to. After getting his money that one time, they don't have to worry about repeat business so they treat everyone so. Old Burdicks is my least favorite place to eat in Kalamazoo and that's saying a lot.

This was a good place to come watch a game and eat good pub grub. During a stay at the hotel I came here twice. Once with a large group for dinner and then again with just one colleague for lunch. Both times the servers were great and the food was good! Maybe it's because I'm from Boston, but I also thought that the prices were great for the quality and quantity of food that you get. I would definitely come back if I was staying at the hotel again.

So after driving around looking for the damnable Bells brewpub (unsuccessfully), we opted to take the easy way out and go here. Sat on the patio. The food was...eh. About the same as your average green n' brown (applebees/TGI Fridays/etc), but they do have a respectable array of beers on tap. I wouldn't avoid this place, but wouldn't go outta my way to get back here. I actually found the service to be pretty darn good, very friendly and accomodating.

hm, honestly, i didn't really get a positive impression of michigan of the haps, perhaps because i was secluded in the suburbs... i'm not bitching, (trust me, i can be a "tourist" of your area, and i can actually be content with you just driving around aimlessly... OK JUICE! sure, u can tell a lot by the car or what impresses a girl or what not, BUT, i'm not like the typical girls:p). came here around 10ish, and it was pretty busy. i felt as if i was in a time machine taken back into my college days. there was a huge mix of people, and honestly, it was a fun mix. considering that this place is inside the radisson, i'm not used to going to a hotel to watch a game with a whole range of people. anyways. it was nice to watch 3 diff games on their main screen MLB (cubs vs. white sox, detroit vs. cardinals), NBA (suns vs. spurs). drinks were yuck. their appetizers were yuck x2. fun to hang out and have fun, but not an everyday i would come to chills and have a good time, mebe for a game or two, and maybe just to catch up with friends, but def NOT for the drinks/food. dont tell me later that i didn't warn ya! considering that this is inside the hotel, parking is free. quite impressive.

The service here was the worst I've ever experienced at any restaurant. Every little thing took at least 15 minutes for the waitress to do, seriously. Okay, so on Sundays (and now Wednesdays) Burdick's has a half-off normal price Student Menu (with valid student ID). My best friend suggested we use this to our advantage and go check it out. We went on a Sunday evening for dinner and had a waitress who seemed to have the attitude of, "Well, it's Sunday and you guys are obviously students, which means that my tip is probably going to be non-existent, so I'm not even going to give a flying fart in space about you." And that's exactly what she did. We started off looking over the menu like any normal restaurant patrons would, our waitress came by, we said we'd like some more time to decide, and then we didn't see her for 15 minutes. We had been ready to order for at least 10 of those minutes. I can forgive this, right? I mean, we were the ones who had been indecisive. No problem. She finally comes around and we order. Our food takes at least 30 minutes, but it's tasty so I can forgive that; plus, it's super-ridiculously busy tonight. No problem...No problem. Then I realize that I would like some ranch for my fries; I don't see our waitress for another 15 minutes (not even a glimpse in order to flag her down). When she does eventually appear I tell her that I'd like some ranch, she runs off to get it, and I don't see her for...yes, you guessed it, another 15 minutes! WTF?! And I don't even say the "F" word. But seriously, WTF?! Yeah, I could excuse all the other times for basic waitressing stuff: super busy restaurant, possible restroom breaks, annoyance at us for being indecisive, etc., but this was getting flippin' absurd! And the night continued in the same fashion. Wanted a refill on my water (which a waiter/waitress should just do on their own without the prompting of the customer and which is also a major pet peeve of mine), it took 15 minutes. We decided to get dessert [Oh gosh, why did we decide to do that!? Were we really that ignorant to think she'd change her ways in the space of another FIFTEEN MINUTES (no pun intended)]? So we asked to see the dessert menu. 15 minutes. Told her what we wanted. Got the dessert in a timely manner (surprise, surprise). Finally we were satisfied with the stuffing of our faces and tried to find her so she could get the check. I suppose the fact that we wanted to split the check didn't help her, "I don't care about you" attitude, but that was her problem. At long last we found her, asked for the split check, and waited...another 15 minutes. Oh we couldn't have been happier to leave that hellhole if there had been free hundred dollar bills falling from the sky outside. Well...maybe. But no, this experience just all around sucked and that waitress should be fired if not already (since this was from 2 years ago). Bottom line: If you come here, don't expect great service, expect to wait 15 minutes...forever.

I absolutely hate this place. I've unfortunately been several times for friend's birthdays and other events and the service is always terrible. On every occasion, I've had to ask several times for refills or a glass of water and at least one persons order from my group gets messed up. There are too many other good bars and restaurants in the area to waste your time here. 11-17-09: Okay, they've updated their menu since my last report and it's much better. Service was better too so I'm willing to give them a fresh start. ;)

Food: Cold (yuck) Service: Hit or miss Prices: High Parking: Not free For various reasons, I've been here many times. I've had maybe one or two good meals, but that's it. The others can be characterized as above. The only good things are they take reservations (for large groups at least) and they serve Woodchuck Cider on tap. Save your money and go somewhere else.

If you make the wrong decision to go here, make sure you are a student and it's a Sunday. You get half off, which I like to call "fair price." The food is boring, the service is clique-y (and slow), and it's in a hotel lobby. Save your money and go to The Union.

Not much of a restaurant if you are looking for an eating experience. Ambiance poor, music too loud with two different stations playing. Too loud for comfortable conversation. Not recommended for vegan/ vegetarian.. The option was black bean buger and it was mushy. Food overall mediocre.

Going to Burdick's is sort of like a bad habit. But as a college kid with not many options, it fits the bill. Drinks are pretty much average priced, the food can be decent, depending on what you order. The cajun chicken with pineapple is amazing and really the only reason I come, and for my vegan girlfriend they also have a decent black bean burger. To be honest, they probably have more selections for vegans/vegetarians than most other places in the area. And by that I mean a veggie burger and edamame. The reason I have to give them a mediocre/bad review is the sushi. Yeah, they went there, they made sushi. It was often dried out (don't know why I ordered more than once), and we find out they prepare it during the day and store it instead of preparing it fresh, which explains a lot. Basically, I think that says a lot about this place. Would kinda expect better from a restaurant at a 5 star hotel, though I guess if you want quality they have Zazios right next door. Basically, if you find something you like on the menu, stick with it next time. Don't explore, or you may find a trap.

Much better than before!!! The wait staff id better trained. HUGE beer selection-possibly the best in town!!Another place may have the most taps but they add cheap beer to make it so... Service is good and I LOVE the TVS!!! Ordered the shrimp tacos which were good, Bet truffle fries in town adn the FIRST to offer them!!!

The best thing that Burdicks has going for it is a great beer selection and awesome tv setup. Definitely a place to come to if your trying to grab a couple beers on the cheap and unwind. That being said, the food leaves a lot to be desired - especially the wings. The only thing that I can say is decent on the menu is the Jamaican jerk tenders.

Fun place to watch a game. Also might be good for a group since they've got a large menu to suit different tastes. When I went they had a seasonal specials menu also. Think beer holidays and then menus designed around them... Oktoberfest menu, St. Patrick's day menu, Cinco de Mayo menu... you get the idea I came here after a long day of traveling and it was super packed. They got us in and out in a reasonable amount of time.

Nothing special but a good sports bar. The huge tv made up of smaller screens is really sweet.

The online reservation was very simple! Our Christmas Eve dinner was very good. We did have to wait just a little bit for our food. The waitress explained they had several large parties. We didn't mind our family was having a good time! Our tradition dinner @ Burdicks then go walk through the lights @ Bronson Park. Thanks & Happy 2013

This place really disappointed me being attached to one of the nicest hotels in town AND a local chain. Reviewing overall. Our server was either too busy or too distracted as we had to ask multiple times for beverages, clean silverware, forgotten drinks at the bar, to go containers, etc. My side salad was ice beg lettuce - not what I'd expect for this type of place. I'd had about 2 bites when my entree arrived with the explanation that the kitchen was trying to speed up their cooking times. By the time I finished my salad, my entree (the baked mac and cheese) was cold. Not that this would've helped as it tasted about as good as velveeta complete with the pouch cheese you squeeze over the pasta. Dessert sounded good especially when it was mentioned that the carrot cake was now homemade. However, it would take 15 min for the dessert tray to be "ready" for viewing. Does that mean it takes 15 min for thawing? The peanut butter pie, a generous portion, was amazing. Based on this experience, I won't be back nor would I recommend it to others. Bring back the good quality Burdick's I remember from years ago!

Good bar, lots of TVs, disappointing food Depending on what you're looking for, this place can be just fine, or a big disappointment. I certainly wouldn't recommend it as a restaurant unless you're in the mood for mediocre bar food. The menu is fairly extensive for a bar, but nothing was really all that good, aside from the wings. As a bar, it's pretty good, especially for sports with plenty of TVs providing decent views from most tables/seats. That said, I haven't been there on a big game day so can't vouch for the service or experience when it's really crowded. Food gets a 2, bar and TVs get a 3.5. Overall, I'll round up to a 3.
