While Erbelli's food is great, the delivery service at this location is absolutely awful. We have a group of employees who stay very late on specific nights, so I order them Erbelli's delivery online. For two months, I ordered delivery for our work address with no issues. Yesterday, I placed an order, only to have them call the person it would be delivered to, telling them that they don't deliver here (downtown Kalamazoo), despite the order going through. He spoke with the manager, who apparently had some serious attitude and said that our orders "slipped through the cracks." For two months? With someone delivering them with no issue each time? The manager didn't care, said our order was cancelled, and that was that. Guys, get it together. Get a delivery map on the site. Get a script that checks the delivery address against your delivery radius. Get some customer service training and don't pull an attitude with repeat customers (or any customers! that's like rule number one!) when you've fulfilled multiple orders to the same location without issue.

Best pizza in Kalamazoo! They offer the standard pizza toppings as well as unique topping selections such as prosciutto, artichoke hearts and roasted red peppers. The create-your-own pizza with options like whole wheat crust and gluten free crust really allows you to truly create the perfect pizza for you. They offer individual size pizza which means that you don't have to compromise with anyone! As someone who is married to their pizza nemesis, I appreciate this more than words can say! If you want to try something different but can't make a decision, try something from their gourmet pizza section. Everything is wonderful so you can't go wrong. Yes, the prices are a little higher than most pizza places, but you get what you pay for. And in this case, you're getting cheesy deliciousness!

The service was wonderful. The guy I talked to on the phone was very nice. Corey I believe was his name? Helpful and quick. The food came within the time he told me and the delivery guy was friendly as well. Downfall though... My bruschetta was cold and soggy and my salad was not the greatest either. Even though they didn't seem to take longer then they told me, I think the food was done way before the delivery guy was. The service I received tonight makes up for the food and I recommend people to at least give it a chance. I wouldn't order delivery again, but I'll definitely try dining in next time. And thank you for having nice employees who seem to care about their customers. It can make a world of difference on if a customer comes back or not.

Erbellis is one of my favorite pizza establishment in the area, but was extremely disappointed in the quality of their Mozzarella Sticks. They reminded me of cheap mozzarella sticks you would find at Gordons Food Service. Checkers have better Mozzarella Sticks.

Unlimited pizza, salad, and soup on a $9 lunch buffet? Sounds sketchy but worth double that! Soup was awesome, the pizza is a thicker crust, with random toppings that come out fresh and very good. They also had spaghetti, chicken strips and cheesy bread. Salad bar is pretty basic, but everything was fresh. Definitely worth a visit!!

This place reminded me of a place called Spinato's back home in Phoenix. Family atmosphere, sports on the TV and KENO!!! Well, back home we don't have Keno in restaurants, but everything else was the same. The drinks were great, the service was top notch and the pizza was so yummy. I am one that would literally eat pizza every single day for every single meal if I could. Their pizza is very tasty. I can't at this moment remember the kind we had, but I think mushrooms were involved in one of them and I remember them being very good. Our family comes here often I think and I can see why. Perfect little join on the corner. Salute!

This is arguably the best pizza in all of Kalamazoo (Martini's and Bimbo's are the two other candidates, IMO). I cautiously give 5 stars - I would prefer to give 4.7/5, but such is the way of the Yelp world. The pizza is a little greasy - I happen to like this, and think it adds to the taste. If you want a healthier pizza (come on, really) perhaps another restaurant is the way to go. Note: this review is only about pizza, as I have only ever eaten pizza and breadsticks here. I dislike all other pasta and italian food for some reason, and feel no obligation to try anything new. Best breadsticks in town, hands down. Light and fluffy, seasoned perfectly, and served with the city's best pizza sauce (I think the trick is in the olive oil). My kids would each eat a full order of these, but I have yet to indulge them and let their stomachs bulge from all of the bread intake. Note about sticks: they are better when dining in than when you get takeout. The standard pizza is white crust; they do have a whole wheat pizza, but stick with the white crust. The sauce is the best (same as breadsticks), and they get the toppings and seasoning right every time. Again, arguably the best pizza in town, and it has its own distinct flavor. I stick with pepperoni and mushroom, but I have done veggie pizzas and they do those well, too. Two things take this from a 4 star to a 5 star restaurant: the lunch buffet and the staff. The lunch buffet: $8.99 for an adult, $5.99 (?) for under 12, and kids under 3 eat free. There is no way you can beat this, especially for this quality. The restaurant gets busy on Thursdays and Fridays (no buffet on the weekends), so get there early and put your requests in for pizzas. They generally have enough pizza that I will eat without needing to ask for other types, but others have had their requests filled. The staff here is amazing for a pizza place. To me, they really "get" what the restaurant is all about. It is fun, fast, high quality, and casual, and the staff delivers on this every time. I have had problems and they are always taken care of, and never with attitude or trouble. This is your best bet for a quality pizza eating experience in Kalamazoo.

Oh, Erbelli's, how we love you. If this place were a little cheaper, we'd be in real trouble because I'm sure we'd eat here all the time! Our favorite is the lunch buffet, which is available Monday through Friday. They have standard pepperoni or just cheese pizzas, but they also set out a variety of more uncommon pizzas for you to try. The buffet also has salad and soup. The only downside? It seems like everyone in the greater Kalamazoo area also loves the lunch buffet, so it's always crowded, there is a long line to pay at the counter, and sometimes the pizza disappears as quickly as they can set it out. If we are there for dinner, we always get the amazing pizza breadsticks. If you're going to splurge on white bread, these are worth it!!

FINALLY made it to Erbelli's! After dealing with all the hype from friends and other Kalamazoo people I decided to pull the trigger and give them a try. I'm glad I did. The decor kind of reminds me of a old school mafia bar. There are plenty of flat screens for the sports fans but I'd hesitate to call it an actual sports bar. Was fairly busy at 7:30p on a Tuesday night. Moderate noise level. Service was fairly prompt. I ordered a small calzone. My friends ordered a Margarita Pizza. My calzone was really good! Crispy on the outside, the meat & sauce were super flavorful. My friends said the pizza was superb. Ingredients were fresh tasting. Overall a very nice experience. Not as nice as the hype, but nice anyway. I'd recommend a visit.

Is anyone else COMPLETELY TIRED of constantly seeing five star reviews from new Yelpers? I get that Yelp ratings are important, but it just looks like Erbelli's has asked all of their friends to create accounts and write reviews. Only 12 reviews (three of which will be filtered any day now) but 52 filtered reviews? It looks sketchy. Besides this, I like Erbelli's. Four stars because the food is solid, the service is good, and the prices are reasonable.

I've ordered take out and delivery and have never been that impressed with the quality of pizzas. Always greasy, over-priced and lacking flavor. The sauce is too sweet, too. Portion sizes were not impressive for desserts, and their cheesy bread was just bread and cheese without any seasoning - it didn't have much flavor at all. Sauce was served cold.

I love going to Erbelli's. The lunch buffet has a wide area of pizzas. I get to try many different foods in one trip. They normally have soup and some pasta on the bar as well. Sometimes they have chicken fingers as well, which can break up the rest of the food I'm eating. I really like their Chicago style pizza. They cook it long and slow. Sauce on the top, just the way that I like it. Their Erby bread is very good as well. The finacee loves it! I've had their subs before and they are pretty good as well. They are big and very filling. I've only ordered pasta once. I probably won't get it again. The ziti I got was a little spicy for my tastes. The big drawback is the price. Yes, it's gourmet pizza. We don't get it often, so I can bear the price every once in a while. If it was a few bucks cheaper, It would be a place I would eat at least once a week. I can't remember a bad meal there. This Erbelli's is much bigger than the original one on Portage Rd. If you are going out for dinner, get their early or expect crowds and lines.

Everything about Erbelli's is great. The service was great, the pizza was wonderful (I had a classic pepperoni pizza), and the atmosphere is comfortable. While this isn't my favorite pizza place, they have great options and really reasonable prices. For a 14" pizza, 10" cheese bread, and an artichoke dip appetizer, we got out for under $40. I would definitely recommend this place.

I went for the lunch buffet as suggested by other yelpers and I was utterly dissappointed. Firstly, there were only six pizzas to choose from and they weren't even that special. One pepperoni, one sausage, one meat lovers, one veggie, one double layer pepperoni, and one hawaiian. Secondly, the pizzas are about 9". meaning they run out super fast. I got there at 12:00PM, by 12:15 the place was packed. Very inconvenient for people in a lunch rush. Finally, the pizza's aren't delicious. The tomato sauce is too thick and too sweet. They don't use enough spices to give it a unique flavor. It's like they went to Domino's Pizza, ordered a bunch of sauce and brought it back to their restaurant. People on here are saying to try the breadsticks/ cheesy bread, my response to that suggestion is WTF people???? If i wanted to eat something salty and oily I'd eat Snooki from Jersey Shore. This place is not the place to go for lunch. Place is crowded, not enough food, and food isn't good enough for me to wait around. All in all save your money and buy a $5.55 Little Ceasar's Pizza, it's hot and ready to go just for you!!!

We're on a pizza quest. Every Saturday night we explore the Kalamazoo/Portage area in search of a decent piece of pizza. From the tremendous reviews we'd thought Erbelli's would be our stopping point, but sadly our search continues. Our pizza was greasy! The toppings were fresh and the crust was decent, but yikes! The salad was horrible - a mass of wilted lettuce. We had such high hopes for this high priced pizza, but they all fell terribly short.

We came here for, you guessed it, the gluten free pizza :) Actually, I had the Original Hand Tossed crust and the hubs had the GF crust. When we went, they were just debuting a new GF crust, and the hubs said it was pretty good. Not the cracker consistency that happens to so many of the GF pizza crusts. We will check this place out again.

Stopped here based on the recommendation of the winery down the road. Driving in, it does look like much... just a hole in the wall strip mall eatery. And it is a casual kind of place but the food was excellent. My wife had the Picante Pesto Chicken Pasta, and thought is was great... and she makes her own Pesto, so she knows what she likes. I had the Fettuccini Alfredo Pasta with the "Q It Up chicken". The pasta and sauce were very good, but I thought the chicken was too hot. In fairness, they warned me it would be spicy. I like spicy, but not when it detracts from the rest of the flavor and all you get is 'hot'. It's always tricky when you ask someone 'how hot is it?'. The question is ambiguous and the answer is so subjective as to be useless... unless you know the person's taste. We also had what they call an 'Erbatizer' of Bruschetta with Pesto, which was very good. All in all, an experience worthy of a return trip. A word to the wise... we got there a little early for dinner, and got one of the last two available tables. By the time we left, prime dinner time, the parking lot was full and a long line was waiting. Be prepared if you go at prime time.

Been here once & would love to come back because there was so many different and unique pizzas to choose from! It was so hard deciding what to order - everything sounded wonderful. Can't remember the name of the one we ordered but I would describe it as a "stoner pie". It had mushrooms, chicken I think, ranch, frank's red hot(!), pepperoni maybe. IDK, so many delicious things anyway. And we got some sort of wonderful cheesy messy bread. Had great service too, and beer! The noise level was a bit much in here as all the tables were pretty squished together and there were a lot of kids there at the time we went.

Excellent pizza. My in-laws were over and I brought home a pan crust and a deep dish pizza from Erbelli's and everyone raved about how good the pizza was. They loved it and wished they could find pizza this good on the East side of the state. There is a reason Erbelli's was rated the best pizza in Kalamazoo.

So I've read all the reviews and gave this place a try (twice) and I've got to say that people sure do hand out 5 stars easily. They have a great menu selection and the prices are in range, but they miss on quality - plan and simple. I don't pass on this review lightly; and really, it's too bad, because this is the type of nitch restaurant Kzoo needs, but sorry, I will continue my search. On two occasions - once just a pizza order and the the other was a group of six - in all cases the general consciousnesses was "they're ok". Toppings on the pizzas are sparse and the calzones where soggy. The other entrees were ok but the portions were small for the price.

In response to Mary Z.'s comments There are many places that are cheap to eat in Chicago (if you travel outside of the "loop"), the hard part is picking one. Carmen's on Sheridan has a buffet for $5.95 it is decent (better than Erbelli's) and the food is always HOT.

Okay, I only review places I love. I am not a tomato eater. Erbie bread is perfect for people who love garlic, cheese, pizza crust, herbs but don't want to have the acid tummy that tomatoes can instigate. It's really really really good, and I don't have to special order a pesto pizza or anything. It's already on the menu and under $10 for a very decent size pie. Yum.

Some of the best pizza I have ever had. Everything from the bread, to the calzones, to the pizza is fantastic here and the prices are reasonable. They also have a great lunch buffet, which is the best pizza buffet I have ever been to and was only $8. This is a MUST go Italian Bistro!

The pizza is great and the breadsticks are wonderful. My favorite part of Erbelli's is the pizza buffet at lunch. It's got a great selection of great tasting pizza and other treats. The menu here is massive and everything I've tried has been delicious. Definitely check this place out.

Good pizza. Unique. Not awesome. Definitely waaaaaaaaaay overrated. It was $16 for a small deep dish. I decided to give it a try because I heard a lot of good things. They have interesting combinations but that's it. The new Domino's is better quality. It's not very deep dish. The crust is average. The only positive was the interesting herbs on the crust. For $5-6 it would be an awesome small pizza and beats the pants off of Little Caesars hot-n-ready. Not going back.
Erbelli's has the best pizza in Kalamazoo, hands down. No contest. The staff are quick, the food is hot and delicious and they have a very good e-club that you can subscribe to. The only ding is the menu prices are often wrong, but they are close.

The hotel recommended this place to us when we checked in later in the evening after arriving for a conference. But the food was hearty and tasty and the service was good. It was pretty loud, so it wasn't as relaxing as our tired selves would have chosen. I would try it again.

Went here for the lunch buffet, which people from work were raving about. It reminded me of the lunch buffet that many Pizza Huts do, but that's the rub: shouldn't an establishment like Erbelli's be able to reasonably improve upon something done by a charmless nationwide franchise? There's a lot of waiting around, and the ordering window concept just means you'll be on your feet instead of relaxing. The variety of pizza toppings at the buffet was great, but the ingredients themselves were rather bland. I also found it odd how the crusts were so inconsistent; some were soggy, some crisp, some burnt, few just right. The food and experience is not something I would classify as terrible, as indicated by the 2 stars my brain felt like rewarding the joint. Try harder Erbelli's. I have faith in you.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I was stuck in a hotel in a snowstorm, I wanted to order from Pizza King which is excellent, but they were out of my delivery range. I called this place and ordered a small, 3 item pizza. This plus a delivery charge was going to be almost $18 not including the tip the driver for a 10 inch pizza. Silly. I saw that they have a buffet for $8.49. Looking at the map, I realized that they were not that far away. I decided to brave the storm and drive over there. It's difficult to discover the entrance for the place... once you have entered, if you have never been there before, it is difficult to know what you are supposed to do. I sat for about 15 minutes as waitresses and waiters passed me by. Apparently you're supposed to go to a window and pay for whatever you're going to eat and then either go to the buffet or wait for them to bring out your entrée... A lot of people seem to like this place and they recommended the buffet so I was excited. I tried four different kinds of pizza a little bit of pasta salad and soup. The soup was actually pretty good, a little bit watery, but some sort of a potato and sausage soup - perfect for a cold day. The salad bar was pretty beat up, many items were completely out. A lot of the other ingredients were very old and kind of slimy looking. Gross. I decided to try the pizza, since after all, it's a pizza place. It's certainly not the worst pizza I've ever had, it's definitely not the best pizza I ever had, but if I had paid $20 for this pizza to be delivered I would've been very upset. I cannot really recommend this place. There are so many better pizza places than this.

Erbelli's has the best pizza in Kalamazoo, hands down. No contest. The staff are quick, the food is hot and delicious and they have a very good e-club that you can subscribe to. The only ding is the menu prices are often wrong, but they are close.

Always Good pizza and alsome bread sticks. Price is a little high for a place without much atmosphere.
