This is a great place to stop for a quick lunch. The menu has a good selection, the food seems to be very fresh and the service is friendly. The place seems clean and the prices are fair.

Didn't get a chance too eat. Actually left without ordering, but the staff was very nice about it. It was louder than any restaurant I've been in. We couldn't even have a conversation sitting next to each other. Not a favorable first impression.

Pretty good food...loved the bbq wings (they have great ranch as well). The value was good and pure service perfectly fine. But walking in, the expectations were high and it seemed as if was missing something? Personality maybe? Just kind of dry. Not rude or bad, but needed a little boost of persona to make it a go to belly up destination. But I'll definitely go back when I roll through the Zoo.

Love this place. Three food, service and atmosphere have always been wonderful. One of our favorite places to go to.

The only thing colder than my shrimp skewer was my Guiness. Steak overcooked and shrimp undercooked....that is not good. My vegetables were previously frozen....thawed and then charred. (So I guess that means they were grilled) The service was ok. The staff was friendly. My plate w napkin over my overcooked steak sat on the bar after I was done eating it longer than it took me to eat my meal. The TV behind the bar showing the Michigan game was also not in HD......that is bad for a bar. If there was another bar in the area....I am sorry I missed it.

Service was terrible and slow. It's not even busy right now and I waited 15 mins to be served my next beer while at the bar. Food was not worth the cost on the menu. Only coming here again in a dive situation.

All the times we've ate here always had great servece and good food. The noise level os a little higher in here than i would like tho. Ober all its a good place to eat.

Dropped in as part of a late night group of thirty. At first the staff panicked, but then they gave great service (fast, efficient and good natured.) food was excellent, served exactly as requested, and despite 30 'separate checks please', got everything done in less than an hour. I've seen far worse at places staffed with triple the number of staff. Went back for lunch today.

Servers are GREAT and food is good. We had reservations for a very large group at peak hours, had a snafu in getting settled but the servers were outstanding and the manager went well above what was needed to satisfy our large group.

Food was very good but I was most impressed by the integrity of the staff. I have food allergies and they were extremely helpful.

Typical bar food with a good selection of local beers on tap. I've eaten here about 5 times and have not had anything poor, but I wouldn't call it fine dining. Come for the beer.

I wanted to eat here once more before I dropped 5 stars on it. I've been here 3 times in the last month, all for lunch. Each time I sat in the bar side and it was roughly 30% full. The first time I had the tuna melt and while it was good, nothing wowed me about it. It was an average tuna salad sandwich. The second time I had the French dip and it was fantastic. The bread was soft, the meat was flavorful and the au jus was perfect. The third time I had the clam basket special and it was just as good if not better than the French dip. I've seen some of the reviews about the service being slow but I can tell you each time I've eaten here from the time I've say down to when I have my meal has never been longer than 15 minutes. Wait staff is please to and attentive. Another gem in what is looking like a serious food town. Keep up the good work!

Decent place for a sandwich and a beer. Not so great if you are a sports junkie and need a dozen TVs on the wall. Brewsters used to be the real hoppin' place in their old location. The excitement seems to have diminished when they moved to this old Bill Knapps facility, although to be honest, the new building is far superior in comfort for the customers and probably the staff as well. Like all places in Michigan, Brewsters is non-smoking, though they have tables outside for you to sit at and smoke. I don't think you can get service out there, however.

Stopped in here recently after spending the day at Bell's and wanted to grab a bite to eat. I was intrigued by the smoked chicken wings so that was my choice and the wife went with the brisket. The wings were very good....first time having a smoked chicken wing but was a huge fan, can't wait to duplicate them once I get my smoker. The wife's brisket too was delicious. Great smoke flavor and very moist. The bbq sauce that came with was sub par, not recommended at all. Instead we asked for a couple different ones to try and settled on the standard house bbq. That went perfectly and if they don't change or offer it, chalk that up as a big mistake. The sides were nothing to call home about and we found them to be a little off. We just skipped them all together. Beers are plentiful so stop in and at least drink while browsing the menu. Maybe take other Yelper's review recommendations. I can see myself coming back based on those alone.

I go to Brewster's about once or twice a month for work lunches. I always pick this place when it is my choice. I am known around the office for always getting the buffalo chicken wrap (which is awesome) and fries. In the spirit of trying to be healthy, I switched it up to the Sun-dried cherry chicken salad. It was awful. Lettuce tasted bitter like it hadn't been washed. They didn't have feta, so they substituted with bleu cheese. The highlight should have been the dried cherries, adding some tartness to balance with the chicken and bleu cheese... there were 4 cherries in the entire salad. I think the chicken breast was maybe a little undercooked... yikes. I shouldn't have deviated from my old stand-by. If you are looking for beers and bar food, this place works. If you are looking for a sensible lunch during a business meeting, you may want to go elsewhere.

I love the Bloody Mary bar on Sundays during brunch time. Basically, you get a mug and some vodka, then you just take it to the Bloody Mary bar table and go to town. You have a great selection of mixes, hot sauces, seasonings, and garnishes. Well done, Brewsters! The brunch is pretty good. Standard and average tasting breakfast food. The redeeming quality of this brunch is the omelette station. You pick your toppings, and the chefs bring it to you when it's hot and ready. Making an omelette can seem easy, but making a omelette well takes skill, and these chefs have it. Since I'm only in the Portage area for one weekend a month or less, it's hard for us to go to Brewster's on Sundays and get anything but brunch and a Bloody Mary.

I had a very short visit; was staying by the airport and wanted a snack. But I will tell you this. I just came back from having the finest reuben of my life at Brewster's. The corned beef was smoky and delicious. I was tearing up a little while I ate this sandwich. If you are by the airport, and you like smoky meat, and you like a reuben, come here. I'm still kind of coming down off my smoky reuben high.

Pretty lame presentation of the special holiday buffet we attended, last year. This week- my husband called on his lunch hour to inquire about a Mother's Day Brunch, and the girl on the phone actually had the nerve to say to him "Can you just call back in an hour, we're busy!" He was livid. Totally unprofessional. We won't be going there again!

Not a bad flounder sandwich. It came out smokin hot from the fryer [fries too]. The chipotle tarter sauce was just ok, but a nice touch. Service was perfect and fast. Easy off and on from I-94.
