You have to give this place a go. It's wonderful, clean and very friendly. Been there 2 times and both have been a 5 star. I'd say it's a keeper.

Absolutely delicious, homemade cooking at it's best!! We shared the Reuben, the corned beef was so tender and the homemade rye was wonderful!! Too full to eat dessert, but we are taking some home, along with some homemade bread!!

Happened upon this place because I first saw a billboard for it, I was hungry, and we were getting off the exit so I could relieve my bladder! HA! Way bigger than I expected and super friendly. I chose the tex mex Panini and it had chicken, melted Monterey jack cheese, and some peppers and onions. Delish! It was so hard to choose though. I wanted one of everything on the menu. I did notice the bakery case when we came in so I knew I was going to hit that up. We choose a dozen cookies.. we were going to share so don't judge!! I picked the deluxe and snicker doodle and my husband got the molasses and monster. The snicker doodle and molasses were definitely the way to go. They lasted our whole trip, which was pretty impressive. I'm so happy to have found a new place to stop!

Mennonite, Mennonite, Mennonite. There, I wanted to start by getting my quota out of the way. The Hearthstone Oven is a gem in a city that, frankly, doesn't have a whole lot to offer. You'll find the best breakfast and lunch in the entire city right in this unassuming bakery. While the food is absolutely out of this world, the service is a little lackluster. Oh, and let's not forget that the bakery is awesome also. Because all this stuff is the real deal, genuine, homemade variety. Let's focus on the "real" food though. My most recent visit was there for breakfast with my mom... I ordered the sausage gravy and biscuits with some hashbrowns on a la carte. The gravy and biscuits... are to die for. Rich, creamy, luxurious.... the absolute best sausage gravy I've ever had in my entire life. They could have gotten away with rocks for the biscuits and it still would be awesome, but they didn't stop there. Light, fluffy, and buttery biscuits are smothered in this gift of food straight from the gates of Heaven. The hashbrowns on the side were... passing. Nothing nearly as great as the entree, but they did the trick. They were a bit oily for my tastes as there was a little pool left of oil on the plate once they were done. Let's move on to the decor. While there's nothing particularly wrong with it, I didn't find it the most welcoming or warm. Sarah Plain and Tall to the max. White walls, sparsely placed boring artwork... it all kind of felt like i was in a hospital cafeteria with a bakery display case. Service here matches the decor, it wasn't particularly warm, or welcoming, but it got the job done. It kinda felt like how I imagine it feels when you don't get along with your mother-in-law but she has to put on the nice face while you're in town visiting. Overall it was a decent experience with awesome food and service that could use a little bit of an upgrade. I'll definitely return, but it'll definitely be for the hearty meals at moderate prices and not because I like the feeling of being waited on by my yet-to-exist mother-in-law.

Great place for lunch! We unfortunately arrived too late for the specials but the ham and turkey paninis were delicious. We also had slices of pie for dessert - one chocolate cream and one peach. Yum! Very friendly service too. There are lots of different bake goods for sale. Highly recommend.

Delicious meals at a reasonable price. Phyllis was very pleasant even though she had just arrived on a red-eye from California.

Had the chicken pot pie, was delicious. Bought cookies to take with us, best peanut butter cookie I've had in a long time.

Wonderful little place to eat! Great food, great service and awesome pies! Can't say anything bad about this place.

Real, Good, Wonderful Smelling Home Cooked Breakfast and baked goods. The kids love this place. Thick French toast... omelets... and the baked goods... everything seems prepared and baked fresh. Nice staff. It's not a "everything" cuisine type of place but it is clean, nice, and we've never had a bad meal or experience here.

Wow. Outstanding, hearty meals in this Mennonite-owned restaurant. The chicken noodle soup was almost buttery-rich, with just enough herbal goodness to counterbalance the richness...the chili. which has no pretensions of being anything other than Midwestern-mom chili, was possibly the best I've had since my mother's, deeply flavorful without a lot of heat or precious ingredients...delicious sandwiches on butterhorn rolls, ample portions without being outrageous, and not gloppy with mayonnaise.. Casseroles and pot pies are the restaurant's specialty, and it was telling that the chicken pot pie had already sold out by 12:30 on a Saturday, with a nonstop stream of patrons. And if this were not enough, the restaurant is also a bakery, selling a wide assortment of pies, breads and cakes. We had just stopped in Ithaca to grab lunch not knowing what we'd find; we're so glad we stumbled upon this place!

Amazing -- we're from Boston and did a search for a good local lunch spot. This was absolutely worth the drive. Good was delicious, staff so friendly. Seek this place out, trust me.

They have really good food here besides the bakery goods. We have eaten here for both breakfast and lunch and it has been very good each time. We are making this our stopping place now each time we go up north. You won't be disappointed.
