Great Frozen white mocha much better than Bigby and I can walk from my house which is very nice! Nice to sit outside and people watch!

Quaint, cozy place with really good coffee. They have a lot of chairs you can get cozy in and read a book, some tables for working, and little nooks for quiet conversations. The drinks are quite good, and the prices are comparable to any of the other places, too.

Caramel Apple Pecan Pie Latte. Really, does anything more need to be said? Are you freakin' kidding me? The mermaid and her lucky charms praline's have nothing on this! When we arrived it was the first snow of the year, and people were excited to curl up on the couches in front of the picture window, with a nice warm coffee and enjoy being inside! The staff was excellent, and very friendly. The atmosphere was very cozy. The drink selection seems really sufficient (although I can't be sure I truly got past CARAMEL. APPLE. PECAN PIE. Latte!). I can assure you, they will be receiving a lot of our business in the future! 5 STARS for SHOP LOCAL!

Stop by here when I'm in town for a while, which isn't very often. I've probably been here 4-5 times over a couple years. I really like the ambiance of the place, being right on the corner of downtown it's a great spot. Coffee is pretty good. I am a fancy mocha gal, not the brewed stuff so I can't say much outside of that. I enjoy their drinks, but it's nothing like Comet Coffee in Ann Arbor or Ugly Mug in Ypsilanti. I had one of their frozen drinks and it was hugely disappointing. I should have asked to trade it in for something else but I was determined to muscle my way through it (plus they were busy). It was too 'from a mix' taste - not like a blended coffee drink I was hoping for. Powdery? Fake tasting. Totally shocking compared to their espresso drinks. They seem to be consistently steady with short bursts of rushes. There is usually one to two people on staff at a time, so this can be a problem if you are in a hurry. Pastries are a little pricey so I have yet to try one there.

I have work meetings here frequently. I love the staff. I do wish they would get Almond milk as a latte option though.

I love this place. I have been coming here with friends since I was a sophomore in high school--now I'm almost through with college! The coffee is a bit pricey, but worth it. It is an independently-owned place, so you can't expect to pay bottom dollar, but it is also cheaper than if you were to go to Starbucks or Biggby (depending on what you get). Staff is always friendly and often remembers returning customers and their orders.

I come to Uptown pretty often to work. The atmosphere is usually fantastic, the staff are almost always friendly, and they have some really great looking baked goods. I'm really surprised that there aren't any negative reviews for their coffee, though.

I like coming here to meet my friends when ever I am in town and I appreciate the friendly staff letting us hang out and chat while drinking copious amounts of fresh brewed coffee. The more I drink their awesome coffee the more I talk.

This is a decent spot in what seems to be a small town. I don't live in Howell, but I do visit at times, and during those visits, I'd stop here again for the same cup of coffee. I came in with my fiance and ordered up two iced coffees. While waiting for those, we perused the menu. It looked very cool and I loved their organic options, especially the organic teas. I do wish they'd offer up some coconut milk or really clean almond milk, but sadly, they do not. So if you have any kind of dairy issues, you've gotta drink your java straight up. Java came and it was smooth and just what we needed. The vibe inside is cool, lots of studying going on and a little socializing. Guy behind the counter wasn't overly friendly and seemed somewhat annoyed when we asked him any questions. We happened to be in the area for a funeral, so here's a tip to guy behind the counter: be friendly, to everyone. Not just the regulars, but the people dressed in overly fancy clothes for a Thursday afternoon. It had been a long day, and we needed the coffee to keep us going...a friendly smile would've been nice, too. Also, people come in who don't live in your town, so remember that you not only represent your coffee joint, but also represent your town. Enough said there. So here's the rating break down: One star for delicious coffee One star for location and ease of access One star for cool vibe inside Could've had one more star for friendly staff but that wasn't the case, and could've had one additional star for variety in non-dairy milk options.

I absolutely love this place! The coffee and other drinks are always great - my favorite order is a Chai Vanilla Latte. The atmosphere in the place is great for whatever mood you're in; whether it be quietly people-watching in the booth, studying at the tables, or chatting it up with friends on the couches. The cost is not cheap, but it's no different than any other coffeehouse you would visit (and it tastes better, anyhow). Uptown Coffeehouse is a great, local place to spend time - no question!

Great ambiance. Relaxing. Peaceful. Comfortable. And great service. Will definitely come back here.

The coffee and pastry were nice, and the atmosphere fun, but the service is like others have mentioned. I'm not from the area and was just looking for a nice cup of coffee and something sweet to eat. I had a lovely apple pastry with an iced latte. The reason for my low rating was the service. When I entered I was behind just one customer who had already ordered and was waiting for their coffee. I stepped over to the pastry display and checked things out, then shifted over to the counter. The person standing there was silent and did not make eye contact. She turned her head past me several times, still never acknowledging me while less than 3 feet away. She wasn't doing anything and could have at least greeted me. It was not until I said hello in a clear tone that she would even look at me. Sad how a lack of basic customer service can ruin an experience.

I love this place! This coffee house is the best place to go and chill with friends. My family and i went here after the christmas parade in town. I ordered the chai latte great choice. It was so sweet and warm.

Love this contemporary coffeehouse in the quaint downtown area of Howell. The service was friendly and quick. They make a mean cup of coffee. Fancy coffee drinks are poured just right. Never bitter or sour. And they don't have a push button like the "other guys". These guys time their espresso shots! Jill is the friendliest barista I ever met. She knows the regulars and what they drink. They use a coffee brand called Crimson Cup which is really good. I bought a bag to brew at home. They have a few pastry items like bagels, muffins and a quiche like egg dish, but remember, this is a COFFEE house, NOT a bakery. There are a variety of seating: high top, tables, recliners and sofas. They even have a great little window seat! And free wifi!! Truly the best place to get coffee in Howell!

Super fabulous service and I love the classy caps!!!! Also, I like the employees ,they are amazing!

What a fantastic local coffee shop in Howell, MI. They were nicely decorated for Halloween and even offered everyone's fall favorite: pumpkin spiced latte. We stopped in just to get a gift card, and if you buy a $25 gift card, you get 1 drink of your choice free of charge! It was a wonderful bonus! The coffee was delicious and the atmosphere was inviting, a must go if you're in town.

I like to order a beverage and have it complete.....not be pointed to the cream and sugar counter especially for the price/tip/ and lack of refill. That's just me. Store is nice service is usually good
(3)Kent M.
Nothing wonderful here. No grill, but some ok food items. My spice chai latte...just ok. I would not return probly. Nice place to sit and wait, however. In my opinion, a really good/great coffee house should have a fresh food grill. Just a personal pref.
(3)Mark Z.
Best coffee place in Michigan. The coffee is delicious and the place is just awesome.
(5)Chris B.
Great (if somewhat pricey) coffee, free wifi, laid-back vibe, clean restrooms, and a welcoming staff.
(4)D D.
A great, cozy, comfortable coffee shop but pleeezeeee crack open your wallet a wee bit and buy a couple of decent toasters that can actually toast up a bagel in less than ten minutes.
(4)Devin K.
Incredible place to go, enjoy a java, and hang out. The coffee is really good. Some baristas are better than others, but I would go here over Starbucks or Biggby every single time. Very friendly, and the free drink with a $25 giftcard purchase is a nice touch, too! I wasn't even a coffee drinker until I had a latte from here, now I go at least twice a week...sometimes more!
(5)Jamie H.
Love this spot... its great on the weekend to stop by if you have some time. Or just to drop by and grab a quick snack and a drink. My husband and I go weekly we love the low key atmosphere and the friendly staff.
(5)Ping Z.
I can't say enough good things about Uptown Coffeehouse. The coffee here is cheap, the staff is nice, and the atmosphere is borderline perfect. The first time I was here, I noticed they played soft acoustic music in the background. The volume was just right and I just felt so much at peace.
(5)Jeffrey J.
After a long, wet day cycling I was in real need of a break and good coffee. They promised me a great cappuccino and they delivered - the best one I've had anywhere in a long time. Killer blondies, too. I will definitely be back.
(5)Jess O.
LOVE Uptown! Great coffee, but what really wins me over is the atmosphere. It's one of my favorite coffee shops to visit... it feels so welcoming and cozy. A great place to meet with a friend to catch up and hang out.
(5)K G.
They have amazing coffee here. I remember when they first opened and the owner filled us in on how their wonderful coffee is made. I have yet to have an espresso drink here but I'm sure if the regular coffee is that good the way they make espresso has to be the same quality. Friendly atmosphere and what's better then supporting a local business over a chain!
(5)Colie J.
When compared to Biggby, I choose MochaCarmel Chill hands down. However, as an independent they have great flavor. I recommend the Turtle either hot, iced, or as a frappe. They have free wifi and a nice small town feel. On the major corner in downtown so you can't miss it.
(4)Rachel H.
Uptown has the best coffee, espresso, and desserts. I was a daily visitor before I moved out of Howell. The atmosphere is friendly and they have a great location (the corner of Michigan and Grand River in downtown).
(5)Yu-Hao L.
Excellent ambiance and wifi! This coffeehouse is located on a crossroad downtown Howell, making it a perfect place to sit, enjoy a cup of good coffee and people-watch. I'm not a big (or pure) coffee drinker, so I had their uptown mocha and I loved it!
(5)Andrea S.
Great ambiance, great location!! However, last time I was there, which was a long time ago, the staff was not very friendly or knowledgeable.
(3)Michelle W.
The best part of Uptown Coffeehouse is it's location on the main four corners of town. That also makes it the worst place in the city to try and find good and easy parking. Though for people like me who live in town and can walk there it's not as often a problem. I like that unlike major coffee chains they will give my order special attention and I always get just what I want just the way I want it. Don't go there all in a rush this place is not a production process. Speedy service is not on the menu. It is however worth some wait if what your looking for is how good your drink will taste. I often meet friends there and the seating is comfy and cosy as anyone's living room. In the warm months outdoor seating is also a nice option. Prices are pretty much the same as you would find at the major coffee chains.
(3)Heather K.
Not super-fast service, but is that really what we go to a coffee shop for? The ambiance is wonderful with free wifi to boot. I'm not a coffee drinker at all...but my husband loves their coffee. I usually go with hot chocolate. ;)
(4)K L.
They make great lattes and the ambiance is chill and comfortable. They always try to do cool patterns in the latte form and it is beautiful. It's true, parking is difficult sometimes, but you can just walk past the other cute shops downtown and get some fresh air.
(4)Todd D.
Great coffee, very relaxing atmosphere. More reasonably priced than Starbucks or Biggby. Great independant shop, always busy.
