This place is SO good! First of all, there's a great history to the spot, which started as a barber shop way back (owned by a Moe, of course). Back in the day, when it was close to closing time, Moe was remembered for breaking out some beers to share with thirsty patrons. Now this unique combo of a restaurant boasts "burgers, beers and shears," in the form of a barber shop (no health code violation - the "barbar" shop will be next door, not near food, and hasn't been finished being built). How cool is that? It's obvious menu items are made with higher quality ingredients, which are locally-sourced (yay)! There are a variety of delicious burgers, but the best part has got to be their gourmet fried pickles, including the Italian (fried with salami and cream cheese) and the Rueben (fried with saurkraut, corned beef and swiss). Holy smokes, they are good! The kid's menu stuff is SUPER yummy too! And there's a changing table in the bathroom, so I have to give them bonus points for being family-friendly. I love the "Midget" burger (with swiss and Olive spread) and the No Moe Meat veggie burger topped with 'shrooms and onions the best. The beer on tap selection isn't the greatest and the ranch may be from a bottle (I prefer mine homemade), but still...This is definitely the best spot in town for burgers, brews and a laid-back atmosphere, complete with fast and friendly service :) *Be sure to ask about the specials!*

Food was okay, not great. Had a burger with bacon and a fried egg. The burger was well done (should not have been) and the egg was cooked all the way through. If you are getting a burger w an egg it should be runny. There is something magical about an egg yoke dripping off a burger. I will likely give this place another try but it will be far from the top of the list.

Moe's was great!!! Food was beyond our expectations. 3 different orders to perfection. Prices were reasonable. And it was nice to sit outside as well. My two issues were that the waitstaff was not very friendly/attentive and that our waitress didn't mention that onion rings in place of fries would be an extra charge when she suggested them. Overall, would definitely visit again!

We stopped at Moe's for a late night dinner after a long day of travel and it was excellent. The service and food were both spot on especially after 10pm. We both had burgers and they were perfectly seasoned and cooked we will definitely make a point to go back.

Very original idea, great burgers, you should stop in here! On a whim we decided to stop in here and we are glad we did. This is apparently a local landmark of a barber shop, that has been maintained to keep the nostalgia while also being transformed into a burger joint with atmosphere! We had the burgers, which were excellent. I would recommend the onion rings over the fries... but all in all, everything we had was delicious! The beer list was intricate, the food seemed to be locally sourced (always a fan of this!), and for the price... places like this should be able to put most fast food garbage respites out of business. 4 STARS

4 stars for a fun atmosphere and a tasty hamburger. The outside seating is right on the main drag of downtown Howell and is great for people watching. The beer assortment was good but almost exclusively bottled. It really reminded me of the late night hangout places on a college campus. We will be back.

Great food, best burger in howell and a great deal. A little slow but worth the wait. Cheese burger and onion rings are great.

We stopped by here on Saturday since we had popped over to Brighton to get some things at Gamestop and I just wasn't feeling any of the Brighton restaurants. Howell we have just started to really explore and we had a great experience at Diamonds and I wanted to go again. Unfortunately they didn't open until 3PM on Saturday (11AM during the week, but not weekend :( ) so I was pretty pouty and grumpy when we saw we couldn't go there. Also the Thai food place doesn't open till late on the weekends too, SUCH A BUMMER! But we knew there were other restaurants open that we hadn't tried yet, so we trudged to the main street and my SO pointed out this place which he wanted to try before (we had gone elsewhere, kiddy corner to it and was disappointed, so I was a little skeptical about this place) I'm really glad we did give it a try. I was hungry and grumpy at that point so I just marched across the street (once the little dude showed up on the crosswalk indicator of course) and sat down at one of the booths (it's seat yourself) and the bartender greeted us with menu's very quickly. Very basic menu, burgers, the sodas and teas were $2.25 (maybe higher, they put tape and wrote over the top of the previous prices) and I about had an aneurysm. We stuck with water (we swore off soda anyway, but I was going to get a tea until I saw the price). There was a couple of dudes having lunch by the window and us, so it was pretty empty which we liked. After we put in our order (he got a burger with bacon and I got the Irish sammich, which is essentially a rueben) and he went back to the kitchen a couple more dudes came in and sat at the 8 top and announced "We have more coming." And by more coming he meant like 9 children, 4 more dudes and a couple of their wives and one daughter. So yes, a nightmare in this case. It seemed one of the staff in the back (a cook?) had suggested this place to them as he went and sat with the men and chatted with them. Maybe they were part of a school sports team, the little boys wore hats and gloves with "Renegades" on them. I don't know the Howell school area so I can't really say for sure, but the cook guy had that hat on too at one point, so maybe he has a kid in it or his brother's kid in it. I'm probably analyzing it too much but hey, had nothing else to do while we waited. The food was great. The burger was delicious and the reuben was very good as well. My SO had a side of onion rings and I had fries. We couldn't finish them all after we polished off our sandwiches. But they were good all around. At this point though, the huge group had put in their order and we waited a good 10 minutes without receiving our check. I decided to go up to the bar and have a beer so we moved over to the bar. I could tell the very small staff (I think 3 people?) was busting their bums with this large order and children orders so by the time I finished my drink it had slowed down enough that I requested my check and got it right away. So good first experience with the food and the servers. The large party sort of dampened the mood for the rest of us but they can't control that. Hopefully they got some good tips from that group because it went from a sleepy Saturday afternoon to a zoo. (the kids were actually well behaved, sat at the tables didn't run around too much, but everyone was sitting in different spots so splitting the checks at the end must have been hell).

They ok a good burger. You can sit outside and they have a water bowl for dogs. Overall, it was a nice experience. Their menu consists of appetizers, burgers, salads, and sandwiches. Nice little place.

Came in for dinner here on a Saturday night. Nice laid back atmosphere, booths and high tops available. They don't have an amazing beer selection but they do have really reasonable prices (I had a Bell's Two Hearted). I got onions rings which were really good, not greasy at all. I also had The Midget burger with Swiss cheese and an olive spread. You can tell they use good Marv's meat. The olive spread was delicious and they were generous with it, I hate when places are stingy with sauces/toppings. This is not a fancy/trendy place. When I asked for mayo I got a packet on the side of my burger. The food is good, the beer is cheap and cold and it was not overly crowded which means I will be back!

My wife and I love to support local businesses and we've been going to Moe's since it opened. If I were writing this review a couple of visits ago it would be five stars but our last couple of stops have been a little disappointing. The food is as good as always but there has been a horrible slide in service. There seems to be a bit of a turn-over in help and you can read into that whatever you want but the current waitstaff are very slow, forgetful and unprofessional. And if you sit outside on a nice day, prepare to measure time with a calendar instead of a watch. On our last visit we had to go inside and fetch our own menus, drinks took forever, entree's even longer, no refills on water, etc., etc. I hope the owner's realize how precarious this is and do whatever is necessary to improve the service or risk losing steady customers.

Food is always awesome, best drink prices in town. Soups wow..... Not fine dining just good food and drinks at a great price. Waitstaff friendliest in town

Best "in town" burger, hands down! Actually, best local restaurant for Howell. Sometimes the staff seems less than pleasant but that's rare. It's an overall great experience whenever we go. It's the only restaurant in town we feel good about taking out of town friends to.

Fired and hired. Waitstaff is much better-most remember our drinks!! Nightly specials-we always love their soups!

A good place for burgers or sandwiches. Nice having a locally owned place in town with good burgers, excellent soups, grilled pickles and fun place to hang out. Wait staff are great. I ordered onion rings once and ended up with two orders as the cook thought the first batch was over done so another batch came out in it's place. First, batch was great but they had us keep both. But I like my rings dark so it is a matter of taste. My husband wishes they had Guinness which they do not have as of yet. We take our teens with us and have no problem but sometimes when they have a local team that they sponsor there it can be a bit loud and the kids from those teams are a bit out of hand.
