    Great local steak house!

Not many interesting choices. Appetizer of potato chip based nachos was a huge disappointment. While the waitress was nice, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Went here today for the first time for a family birthday lunch. We all ordered steaks and they were done perfectly. Very professional wait staff and service. We never had to ask for drink refills. Checked in on yelp and got a free piece of carrot cake. DELICIOUS! The inside is a bit cramped, but since we were there early it wasn't an issue. I will be back.

Came into Diamonds tonight for our Anniversary Dinner. From the moment Madi sat us until Seth finished our service, everything was exceptional. Portion sizes could have been more generous for the price, but my Coconut Shrimp as well as the Hubby's Scallops were perfectly cooked! Friendly Atmosphere, good service. Thank You Diamonds for making our Anniversary Memorable!

Went on a whim because I hadn't been there in years, and it used to be a nice intimate spot to grab great food with friends. Totally disappointed in the visit; It's very busy there now and they don't know how to handle it. Probably won't be going back for another few years. Food was good, but not great. Service was lacking. 2 stars because of the free carrot cake when you check in on Yelp. Wife and I were told 45 minutes for a seat. Over an hour later, we were seated in the middle of the restaurant at three two-tops pushed together to seat a total of six people. It was so loud we had a hard time having a conversation with one another. Not intimate at all. Food took a long time to arrive after ordering. Our server was inattentive. We ordered drinks while waiting to sit down; the server who brought them out to us never gave us a check for them. When our meal was finally over and we received the check, the drinks weren't on that check, either. As bad as the experience was, I couldn't bring myself to walk out without paying for them. It took another 10 minutes to get the problem fixed so we could pay properly and leave.

Last night a friend was in from out of town, little did I realize she had some dietary restrictions that were not in line with the menu at Diamonds. We were about to leave when the waitress offered for the chef to come talk to us about specific ingredients. Chef Steph asked my friend several questions and made a sauce for her that, not only could she eat, but she said it was by far the best sauce she has ever had!!! It had to be the best experience of customer service I have ever had! Thank you for your patience and understanding and for exercising your true talent as a chef! xo

Food was really good. I had the Ribeye. Can't say enough great things about the carrot cake. It truly is the best you will ever have. The service was pretty terrible. We sat at the bar. The bartender seemed very angry, actually the entire wait staff was angry. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day????

We went there for the first time yesterday. Our dinner was wonderful! The food was delicious and the sever was very nice and attentive. We will definitely return in the future!

We were a party of six and enjoy our dining experiences together. We went on a Friday night and it was very busy. My wife and I both ordered the scallop dinner. It was delicious but the smallest portion I have seen with the exception of a few spots in New York City. Limited Vodka selections (even then problems in delivering requested selection) , no draft beer, limited bottle beer selections. Wait staff was very friendly.

Hit or miss. I haven't been here in years, but I have gone twice in the last couple months. First time lunch with the girls was perfect!! Steak tips, salad. Cooked just perfect. The other night however I went with my husband and the steak tips which I ordered medium the same as I ordered before, were undercooked. Raw and cold. They were so busy I choked them down. The french onion soup was good and the twice mashed could have been hotter.

The food and service were excellent! We had salmon, white fish, mushrooms, asparagus, and tomato soup. We don't have one single complaint.

This is the first time I've visited this restaurant, even though I've live in the area for almost 10 years. We read the review here on yelp, and thought we'd give it a try. We went on a Saturday night and were told we would have a 20 minute wait, unless we wanted a table, which we said was okay. We didn't realize it was going to be a 2-seater table that felt like it was in the middle of the room, with people walking on both sides of us. It kinda felt like the table was added there as an afterthought. Of course, that is the only real complaint I have about the place!! Our server was Leslie and she was charming and well versed in the menu. We were going for the world famous steak tips and thought that the appetizer, Filet Mignon Tips Sicilano, was that, but she explained that they were two different items. We still got that appetizer and it was delicious! The creamy, buttery sauce was good enough to just eat by itself. We both chose to have the "Famous" Tips for our entrees, and we were NOT disappointed!! The cajun sauce was not too spicy and the tips were perfectly cooked medium. The chef's soup was the german tomato, with more beef mixed in and my husband said that he can't imagine having tomato soup any other way now. After being thoroughly stuffed with delicious beef tips, we shared the cheesecake for dessert and it was pretty good as well. They didn't have the raspberry topping, so we just had it plain. Our bill came to about $60, before tip, with no alcohol. Overall, I'd have to say that this place has become our new special occasion restaurant. I've driven past it numerous times and am sad for all the times I've not gone in. A very lovely place and one I am surely going to go back to!!

Melissa Gilbert, the famed star of Little House on the Prairie and new Howell resident, gave a glowing recommendation for Diamond's Steak & Seafood on Channel 4 WDIV News. We drove 25 miles to downtown Howell for lunch at this restaurant and did not regret it. We parked in front of the restaurant and didn't realize there was a rear entrance with ample parking. We we were seated in a very comfortable booth. We both had steak. My wife chose the filet mignon tips and I chose the 12 ounce rib eye topped with bleu cheese and onion straws.. The steaks were ordered medium and were cooked perfectly. We had salads and smashed potatoes (loaded with bacon bits and cheese) as our two side choices. Excellent food, service and atmosphere resulted in very enjoyable dinning experience. We are looking forward to returning soon.

Took my mom and daughter here for dinner. Started off with the spicy shrimp appetizer with pickled cucumbers. It was a plate full, vey filling and good. For dinner I had the filet tips with twice baked potato and brussel sprouts. Everything tasted good but the tips came out cool but cooked correctly. Mom had the macadamia nut chicken and enjoyed it. A few side notes- no draft beer, parking in back is nice, atmosphere is kind of dark. The service was ok, waitress was also tending bar so our table suffered a little. Asked for water twice before we got it. I'd go back.

Best scallops I've ever had. Steakhouse mushrooms were incredible - juicy and extremely flavorful. Crab cakes just ok. Lake Perch breaded well, ok tasting. Would come back again.

Really exceptional food and a wonderful staff. My family went to Diamond's for the first time on a very busy Friday night, and were pleased to see that the packed restaurant didn't phase the kitchen or wait staff. The filet mignon tips were exceptional, as was the perch. The mac and cheese as a side was the best decision I've made in at least a month: very creamy, great texture and really great flavor. Great caesar salad, too. Also highly recommend the coconut shrimp as an appetizer. Easily the best I've ever had. Almost got a second order. Desserts were absolutely phenomenal. The carrot cake and cheesecake ought to be illegal. Simply put, this is an exceptional restaurant.

We hadn't eaten at Diamonds for years but decided to give it a try a few weeks ago. It was outstanding, We loved it! We've had the steak tips and the Lemon Caper Whitefish. Outstanding! No complaints about the service either. It is a small place to it can be a wait for a table.

Very good salmon dish and beef tips.I get it everything time I am there. Sometime service has been slow in getting us our first drink. I have had to go to the bar and remind them twice. Onion soup very good.

We eat at Diamonds every once in a while, and the food is consistently very good. Despite being a highly rated restaurant, it is usually not very busy, and you can be seated immediately. The service has always been friendly and prompt. What compelled me to write this review was an experience I had tonight with take-out. I returned home to find that the food was not what I had ordered. When I called them, they had realized their mistake (I had someone else's order, and they had mine). When I returned to pick up the correct order, I was given an apology, my order, and a reasonable gift card, all of which were unprompted. While I feel this is exactly what should be done, I have become accustomed to receiving terrible customer service from most restaurants I visit. Mistakes will happen, and it is nice to see that when it does, it will be taken care of appropriately without the customer having to cause a scene. My food, by the way, was very good. We had the Filet Mignon Steak Tips and the Mediterranean Chicken, as well as the Mac N Cheese. All were excellent, and well packed to stay warm.

Went here based on reviews here as well as friends. We had originally gone on Valentine's day. The website said they don't take reservations (the website looks completely different now), so I was kind of taken back that we could only be seated if we had reservations. This was at 4:30pm. We decided to go back, try again. We got there at about 5pm and I am glad we did, before we even got our dinner there was a 45 minute wait. By the time we left it was an hour and a half wait. So, just get there early!! We dine early because we hate waiting and we get home early from work I had the filet mignon tips, mac n cheese and Brussels sprouts. My husband had the special that night which was a cod with asparagus and potatoes. Everything was amazing! We loved it all! Couldn't ask for a nicer meal. We will go here instead of some of the other places next time.

I have eaten at many fine places from NY to CA and all places in between and Diamonds rates high on my list of favorites. I am so impressed with Diamond's delicious food, professional service and casual atmosphere. My daughter and I both had the filet mignon beef tips which were out of this world with fresh asparagus! My good friend, Maryann, had the coconut shrimp with onion rings and I swear that each shrimp was the size of my fist! We ordered dessert and were in heaven; I had the carrot cake and she had the cheesecake (both are home made and are to die for). Dinner for 3 people was less than $55 (alcohol included).

Had the opportunity to dine at diamonds for lunch today with a client and friend. I made a reservation yesterday just to be sure we'd have a seat and I hadn't been there before and didn't know what their lunch crowd was like. Atmosphere was nice with that low lighting ambience. I kinda like that sorta thing. Nice steak and seafood menu with lots of options and the service was attentive throughout. Started with a shrimp cocktail and their house made potato chips with blue cheese & bacon & scallions over-the-top kind of like potato chip nachos. The shrimp are a little bit small but okay And the blue cheese on the potato chips nacho dish was fantastic with just that right kind of bite. Gotta love blue cheese! One of my lunch mates them had what looked like some kind of Cajun/teriyaki chicken dish with a slice of pineapple on top of it which she raved about and I created my own surf and turf which was their wagyu steak and some perch with tartar sauce. My steak was well-prepared and tasty and the perch was great too and the tartar sauce ishouse made. Service was great too and Charlotte was an angel. If you're in the area and feel like steak or seafood it's a Great choice for this part of Michigan. I'll go back next time I'm in town.

1 star for service ONLY. Party of 4 expecting a nice holiday dinner. We waited at the bar for a table and bartenders were fine. First I'll say the bathroom was disgusting. Second-the dated decor including old carpet, odd smells and tables crammed together leaves something to be desired but we still had high hopes for the food. We ordered appetizers of crab cakes and coconut shrimp. Hair was inside of the crab cakes so they were sent back. It would have been ok if the wait for the appetizers hadn't been over a half hour to begin with. But ok, still being positive. After an additional 45 minutes of waiting for our dinner, it finally came. A filet for myself I ordered well done. There was full blood on my plate. My brother ordered prime rib medium rare and it was very well done. Husband ordered prime rib and it was so thin it appeared to be sirloin or possibly worse a "steak" from a hungry man frozen dinner. I sent mine back and after an additional 20 minutes it came back and as the waitress stood there a fruit fly landed on the plate. Then dinner was really over. The manager finally came by and insisted she would take care of us for the horrible experience we had. One meal and appetizers were taken off the bill, plus 25%. Thoughtful, except the bill was still over $100 and everyone walked away hungry and disgusted. We will NEVER be back.

Nice bar, good music playing. If I didn't have work in an hour I'd stay for a drink. The steak tips are great. They drizzle this tangy/sweet sauce (I think they called it cajun sauce) over it, and it's delicious. The beef is cooked medium rare, which is the way that it's supposed to be done. The Salmon Picatta was pretty nice too. Not overcooked, and the lemon garlic cream sauce was tasty. As far as sides go, for sure order the house potatoes. So cheesy, garlic-y, creamy, and delicious. The others are all mediocre.

As another person mentioned, it's sadly over-rated. For a place that specializes in PRICEY seafood, it was way below average. We waited over 40 minutes for macadamia chicken and pecan trout. The server said it took so long because the fish was being filleted. Okay, so this must be really good for the wait. Nope. Rock hard fish that was paper thin, not juicy, and no flavor and I'm pretty sure the macadamia crust on the chicken was the exact same as the pecan crust on the fish. The sides of potatoes and asparagus were yummy though. The manager did take the fish off, so that was nice. Overall just very underwhelming for the stellar reviews I saw here. Table bread was from Gordon's too, so since they spend no time on homemade bread they should be perfect on their limited seafood specialties. Also, most beers listed were not available, which was sad. Maybe it was just a bad night for the cooks, I don't know, but it was disappointing overall.

What? No reviews? the hell... I stopped in here for some dinner after someone mentioned "amazing beef tips". With those three words I was sold and her recommendation did not disappoint. Tender beef on skewers with a side of mash (topped with cheese!) and cinnamon apples. Perfect portions, delicious food, good service. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT? (... if it's a cheaper price, head in for lunch!)

Used Yelp to find this place as an in-between meeting spot for old friends. The one hour drive was well worth it. Stephenie, our friendly and menu savvy waitress, was ready to help us with a wine selection, appetizers and main entrees. BTW ... Spot on recommendation for the Australian Ink Berry blend. Splendid! The shrimp bruschetta was unique and well prepared. Easy on the eyes and palate and plenty for the four of us. Our friends had pork chops and ribeye while my wife had a filet mignon and I had a NY strip. All meals were prepared precisely as ordered ... And delicious! Visually inviting ... and served only after we had finished our salads. A good indication of the coordination between the chef and waitress. My 12oz steak was served sizzling hot and fries crispy as ordered. I was a little surprised that baked potatoes were not on the menu but interesting alternates were available. A very generous cut of beef was served with a light sprinkling of fresh chopped green onions. I ordered a side of grilled mushrooms which were nestled beneath my steak. Last, but certainly not least is dessert. There are little table signs all about bragging about the carrot cake. So Stephanie twisted my arm (just a little) and I ordered one piece to try. Within a minute or two she re-appeared with a four forks, a large plate with something close to heaven on it. No use for me to describe it. Just try it yourself. It's light, sweet and goes well with a good cup of coffee. The restaurant itself is cozy and very clean. Restrooms were well kept and clean. Parking in front was available but with all the un-shoveled snow it was a little dangerous navigating a way to the front door. Would we return? Absolutely! Too many good offerings not to.

They just catered a lunch to Country Lane Flower Shop to help keep my workers going during this holiday rush! Outstanding is all I can say! The food was awesome, all my employees were going crazy over the special lunch from Diamond's. You guys rocked it! Thanks for keeping us going for the rest of the day and evening!

First yelp recommended place for us, and I was extremely happy with Diamonds. The steak tips in a.wine sauce over potatoes was perhaps one of my favorite dishes ever. Not to be outdone though the mashed sweet potatoes come on an iron skillet with perfectly roasted marshmellows on top. Really enjoyed our meal. Has a good atmosphere, and pleasant staff.

Let me see if I can put into words how great the Filet Mignon Tips are here. I come home from Afghanistan in 17 days and this is the first place I'm going to eat, and I'm getting the Filet Mignon Tips. They melt in your mouth. I would rather eat this than a $60 steak even if it was free. That's how good these Tips are. I think that sums it up.

My wife and I joined another couple there last Saturday night. We arrived at 6:30 for our 6:45 reservation made earlier in the week. When we arrived the young lady at the door did not have our reservation and said it would be a 20 minute wait. 45 minutes later we were seated. Not a good start. Once seated we were promptly and ably served. We started out with the spinach dip and coconut shrimp. Both were very very good. As a matter of fact it may have been the best spinach dip I've ever had. Both my wife and i got the beef tips which were also pretty amazing. She didn't want the advertised marinate and I got it on the side. It was a nice addition to the tips. We split the carrot cake for dessert and it was awesome. The table they placed the 4 of us at was very narrow and we felt quite crowded. So the bottom line for the night was that the food was exceptional, as was our waitress but the dining experience left a considerable amount to be desired. This would have been a 4 star review but the wait and early experience at the restaurant was 2 star at best. With a little attention to detail this could be a destination restaurant.

COMPLETELY OVER-RATED!!! After reading reviews I was looking forward to some really good food. Filet mignon tips were good, but nothing special. You can go out and buy this meat, season with salt/pepper, grill and get the same taste. Also ordered a pasta dish which was horrible. Pasta not el dente, meat was same cut of meat which was good, but sauce was worse than pre-made sauce at grocery store. All dishes came out luke warm. Veggies came out just boiled, no seasoning, no nothing. Filet tips came out on skewers like shish-ka-bobs. I don't care for presentation, but when you come to a steak place, you don't expect little chunks of meat on skewers. Worst part about this place is the wait staff. Literally waited at front door for more than a minute and place wasn't even busy while bunch of wait staff were doing nothing, except going to the back and eating something and coming out with their mouths full. My waitress came by to take our order, deliver food and had to wait forever to get more water and my check, and like i said, place wasn't even busy, approximately, 4 tables, 4 waitstaff. So disappointed.....i'll give it 3 stars because it was clean, tips were good. I don't mean to hate or give the business any negative press, but i think we should be honest when it comes to these reviews because i, like many others take what these reviews have to say seriously when it comes to trying out a new establishment or someplace i've never been to.

Good food, good price, nice atmosphere. Beef Tips were as good as the other reviewers mentioned. Calamari was good. Steak was very delicious, nice portion , the price was affordable, not overpriced. Overall experience probably 4.5 star. Can't believe I never went there before!

Thanks to Groupon, I found this lovely gem in the heart of Howell,MI It was about a 30 minute drive from home but their fillet Mignon tips had such great reviews, it was definitely worth a shot. Their appetizer list has a lot of great choices. We opted for the coconut shrimp... (he wanted the fillet Mignon tips but I won that battle....they are my weakness). The coconut shrimp came out well plated with two options for dipping sauces (normally you pick one of the two but our waiter decided we should try them both.) I, prefer things with a little zing (yeah!) and enjoyed the house made sweet chili sauce. My boyfriend loved the cherry dipping sauce. We were also impressed that they gave 6 shrimp in the appetizer instead of the normal 5....(that rarely happens) so we didn't have to split the 5th on in half. So far our experience was going well. We each got the Caesar salad and I loved the presentation. It wasn't too big and the dressing was overall pretty good(it has pepper already in it and I added more not knowing... oops) For our entree, we each got to pick two sides (Groupon agreement :) not complaining) I chose the Salmon Picatta with asparagus and Sweet Potato mash (my fave). The Salmon Picatta came out looking amazing! It was perfectly cooked and came with 4 grilled shrimp on top with a tasty lemon caper sauce. I was impressed. The best part was the sweet potato mash. It had great fall flavors in it (nutmeg, cinnamon, brown sugar) and also toasted marshmallows on top! I couldn't stop eating them and had to tell my boyfriend to make me stop! ( I was beyond full at this point) My boyfriend got the award winning Fillet Mignon tips! They were cooked to his liking and were soo tender! We could definitely see why they got such great reviews! He picked red skin potatoes and macaroni & cheese as his sides. Both were delicious and he commented TWICE on the mac & cheese!! While we were sitting there, it dawned on the both of us... Why haven't we been here before! Diamond is definitely a place we will go back to ! The prices aren't too bad and the food and service are commendable! I recommend this to a friend, heck all of them! To anyone looking for a steakhouse that will meet all your expectations check out Diamonds!

Diamond's is a Howell institution, and deservedly so. The food is consistently above average and the service is pretty good, considering they're usually packed. That being said, it's also not inexpensive and, I find, unless you are a straight-up steak fan, you'll tire of the limited menu options after a few visits. It's also a tad cramped and dark for some diners' tastes. Diamond's is among Howell's best eateries. Unfortunately Howell could use a few more diverse dining choices.

This place is exceptional. The food, the price, service and ambiance are all outstanding. Small town fine dining, if there is such a thing. We trekked up to Howell for a nice evening ride, on a Thursday night. Thankfully we made a reservation before leaving the house. Diamond's has a small dining room with raised booths and nice outdoor patio, but it was packed. We were seated in a nice booth - but unfortunately we were next to two large tables of people are were not conscious of their speaking volume in such a small space. Kim was our waitress and she was busy but we never felt like she was slacking or forgot about us. I had a glass of house Merlot and ordered the seafood pasta with crab cakes. Hubs had the mac n cheese and added tips. I cannot impress upon you, Dear Reader, how outstanding was our food, from first bite to the last before packing up the rest. Kim even helped find sealed to-go containers so they wouldn't leak in our motorcycle saddle bags. That was very nice. The best part though - oh and yes there is more - was the carrot cake. If a comp piece of carrot cake wasn't a Yelp check in offer, we wouldn't have ordered it as we were too stuffed but please hear this: YOU HAVE TO VISIT JUST FOR THIS CARROT CAKE. Warmed and melted with a bit of their honey cinnamon butter, then topped with the cream cheese filling - we almost couldn't stopped eating it. I cannot wait to return This will be our summer dinner destination of choice. Bookmark it, get there.

We love this restaurant. Our trip for dinner yesterday, however, was disappointing. We drive all the way to Howell from Lansing just to eat here. Sunday night, the restaurant was not full. We were seated right away. The restaurant was HOT. Uncomfortably so. The thermostat above our table registered 77, and we were all in a full sweat within minutes of being seated. The usual impeccable service was lackluster. We were not given a wine list, and had to ask for refills on our water continually. Most of the food was good, but it came out of the kitchen in dribbles. It took a full five minutes for everyone to get their food, so the first plate served was cold by the time everyone had their food. My filet was excellent; however, all three of the strips we ordered were much thinner cut than usual. Overall, for what we spend to eat here, it was very disappointing this time.

My observations are based on several visits over many months, some by myself, others with just my wife, and some with my wife and children. When I am alone, I choose not to take up any of the valued seating at the booths, and normally sit at the bar, at the far end. I have a great view of the work stations and tables and booths in the front end of the restaurant, as well as the street-side seating behind me. I like to observe the public and how everyone interacts, and Diamond's doesn't disappoint, so there is entertainment too!! The food is fresh and delicious, your wine choices are amazing, and the choices of freshly made exotic cocktails are limited only by your own imagination. Danni the manager, is constantly sharing her knowledge of the products and choices offered with the staff and has a keen eye for presentation. I cannot say enough about the chef's!! They have a two-butt kitchen, and to watch them work and deliver the magic from that area, especially on a Friday evening is truly remarkable. Their preparation before a serving and knowledge and timing are impeccable, it is a show every night. Someone must have worked on a submarine in order to organize this kitchen. I will agree with some reviews about the dish washing, as that takes place between the bar and kitchen. It does get a little noisy, and one washer is very aggressive and doesn't seem to care about how loud he is, but there are other washers that are more considerate and try to keep the noise down, so it's not everybody. There are many patrons that are regulars and expectations are set and delivered in their normal way, which these regulars are used to and accept. It is most interesting to watch the newbies, with their "I have arrived" attitudes, who expect to be treated like a celebrity and have their pick of tables. Watching these diners is painful on one part since they will run a server ragged, sampling three different high end white wines, only to order a house special after all is said and done. (Note: The house wines are way above any chain restaurant "house wine". Just sayin!) The men customers are funny, jittery, can't focus because of the low lighting....looking around like they need to be somewhere else. They eat fast, and are constantly looking for the server for something. Take a page from the people of Howell, slow your roll, relax and enjoy the food and the people you are with. Your attitude affects those around you, so smile it up a little bit!! smiley face! My wife and I have been served street side, which is for some people but not all. I don't find the ambiance that interesting, people walking by looking at you and your dinner, car noise, etc.,. That being said, I did enjoy the dinner outside, or maybe it was the company I was with. The third seating option, the interior booth. No phones allowed at our table, so we got to enjoy the full effect of the low lighting. The servers were well versed in the two or three specials of the night, giving a detailed explanation of the nuances of the spices being used by the chef's in each of the meals. I was most impressed with their knowledge of wines and they offered more than one option, with personal preferences included. Each seating at Diamond's was met with exceptional table side service by very pleasant and informed staff. This last trip, each of our meals were again prepared perfectly from; Baked Ziti, Parmesan Encrusted Whitefish, the world famous Steak Tips, to finally my pork chops. YUMM!! We all tried different sides and all were delicious. Someone stole my sisters excellent recipe for brussels sprouts, never thought I would ever order these at a restaurant, but I do here (do not boil them like me mom used too. Sister says, olive oil, sea salt, pepper and baked in the oven til crispy). I love the appetizers too!! Never did I think I would order potato chips as an appetizer, but the house made Danish Blue Cheese.....you just have to try. You can also get the Blue Cheese dressing on the Wedge Salad. Ordered three carrot cakes to go...... what an ending!! If you want an Applebee's experience, in and out in 35 minutes, that is just down the street. If you want to enjoy a great meal, with a retro ambiance I highly recommend Diamond's. And no I do not work there and none of my family or friends do either, I just like nice places. Now if this was overlooking a lake, I would consider it Heaven!!! Danny G

Just had an amazing dining experience at Diamonds! My party ordered the calamari appetizer, and for entrees scallops, crab cakes and white fish, which were all cooked to perfection. The sides included Cesar salad, mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts, which all tasted fantastic. As for the wine, beautiful! Felino Malbec and Decoy Cabernet. For desert we had Diamonds' famous carrot cake. I am not a huge sweets eater, but wow!!! It was amazing! To top it off, we had superb service by Emily! Thank you, Emily for an amazing dining experience! Well done, Diamonds! Looking forward to more dining experiences with you!!!

Words can't express the quality of the food. Along with that wait staff is always attentive and hard working. Today we had the chicken Santafe salad and the filet salad. Both were amazing and the lettuce was green and fresh. If you have t been here before you must try it!

My experiences are getting better each time. Went there a couple nights ago the food was amazing and they make this drink called the St. Germain and sex and I just want another one. I may have to go back just for that. The only constructive criticism I would offer is that our appetizer and our salads and our food all arrived within about five minutes of each other. We are outside at a smaller table so it was rather inconvenient to try to make room for everything

After a day of shopping at Tanger outlet we decided to try this place on a whim. I had the Parmesan Crusted Whitefish with brussel sprouts and coconut rice. Oh my god! All 3 were packed with flavor and melted in my mouth. The wait staff was very friendly and service oriented. We walked away with free carrot cake thanks to a Yelp coupon.

Been here a few times now and have enjoyed both trips. The atmosphere of the restaurant is like that of fancy steakhouse, without the heart attack inducing prices. The portions are perfect for the price and the service has always been quick, courteous, and informed. My husband had a burger, which he really enjoyed. He is very picky about his burgers, so I considered this high praise. I had the seafood pasta which was lovely. The perfect amount of shrimp and the noodles weren't doused in the seafood flavor, the sauce was flavorful but not overly thick. The second visit I had the crab cakes which were great! I originally wanted a fish fresh catch of the day, but they had sold out from the lunch rush. You get two medium sized cakes and the dipping sauce was perfect. My husband had a steak and he finished it all (I did manage to try a bite and I also approve!) They also have Dragons Milk available in bottles which is my favorite!

We've been here only twice, both times for brunch. After getting the biscuits and gravy a few weeks ago, I had to go back today. Best B&G I've ever had! So, today we went and our food came out quickly, but my biscuits were raw. I let our server know, the manager came over, apologized, replaced my meal, all within about 10 minutes. Great service, great food, good prices, can't wait to return for dinner!

Well it started out great and ended good but there was some meh in the middle. The calamari appetizer was pretty good, the German tomato soup was great, and the service was friendly and attentive. My glass never went dry. The biggest problem I had was that the steak was over cooked and although, everything was there that they described on the steak, it was just simply over the top. There was a dijon mustard sauce and cheese on the steak. Normally, I would not order a steak covered in such toppings however, the waitress raved about it and I said I'll give it a try. Needless to say I was expecting a small amount of mustard sauce and very light sprinkling of cheese. What I received was a large amount of mustard sauce with a mound of mozzarella that would choke even the biggest fan of the cheese, and after two bites I had to remove all of the topping because I couldn't even taste the steak. The good finish to the meal was that we received a FREE piece of DELICIOUS carrot cake. The cake gets five stars, but the steak just two. With all the good points I mentioned and the nice ambience I think it deserves four stars and I would definitely give it another try, but I will definitely be skipping that special.

We went here for a birthday dinner, and could not have been more disappointed. The food was served in pools of grease. The Brussles sprouts were charred beyond recognition. Ponderosa serves higher quality meals than Diamonds. Contacted the restaurant afterward, but they never made any attempt to provide the courtesy of a response. Terrible food. Terrible customer service.

I'm a big fan of ordering what the restaurant's claim to fame is, so I ordered up the filet mignon tips, and you people were all right -- they were excellent! I ordered them medium and they were cooked to perfection -- something I often feel is ignored in a lot of our local restaurants. I upgraded my two sides for an additional $1.95 and got the sweet potatoes {holy lord - awesome!!!} and mac n' cheese. I thought the mac n' cheese was a tad dry...The flavors were pretty good, but I would love to see them kick it up a notch. With that said, I would definitely order it again. For checking in on here, we got a free piece of carrot cake. I love that they think highly enough of the Yelp community to do that -- so kind! The cake was amazing, but SO sweet and huge. I definitely would recommend sharing it with 3-4 people to satisfy an after-meal sweet tooth. The atmosphere of Diamonds is a tad dated, but it's almost charming that way, really. I feel like I was transported in time to a mafia steakhouse, complete with tall dark green booths ;) As far as date night locations in Howell, I'd say this is tops. I can't wait to go back for more filet tips!

Was my first time here. I had the macaroni and cheese, house salad and a side of asparagus. Salad was a bowl of lettuce mainly, was "ok." The Mac N Cheese was very good, but super rich. The asparagus could have been a little more tender. Our server was pretty good. Only complaint is that it took her a long time to come back to our table each time it was needed. My water sat empty for a long time, which no big deal except it was like 100 degrees in there!!! That made my visit very unenjoyable!

There is no doubt the steak tips, carrot cake and Mac and cheese are 5 stars. Too many reoccurring issues bring my rating down to a three. At the heart of the issue appears to be the restaurants inability to effectively manage such a small place with limited seating. First off we always request a booth. Coupled with being there on a Friday night at 6 pm we always expect and except a long wait. Our last wait was 1 and 1/2 hours before we discovered our name was never written down. The evening concluded with being presented with the wrong check. The time prior, the wait was acceptable but when reconciling our credit card statement at home the amount charged to our card was different than our bill. An honest mistake I assume but mistake nonetheless. The time before that we were seated after a long but acceptable wait. Our dinner took over 1 and 1/2 hours to make it to our table. This was no an oversight but simply an inability to process orders in a timely fashion. Our waitress continually apologized for the wait but the orders were just behind. We will likely continue to frequent based on the food but at some point the consistent issues may dictate otherwise.

Our server Ella (Bella Mozzarella) was attentive & punctual. Her wine suggestions were 2 4 2 on the good side. I had the Filet Mignon Skewers which were not only cooked perfectly but coated in a complementary Cajun sauce (balanced, not drowned). The bread, cinnamon apples & smashed potatoes were excellent. I'll be back again. Carrot cake was free with check-in on Yelp and taken "to go".

Loved our dinner here. I ate more than I have in 6 months! Great place for the whole family! Outdoor seating was full so we sat just inside at the bar windows. Fantastic food but I would have preferred my mushroom burgers with plain grilled portobellos. They soak theirs in balsamic and the mushroom completely loses its flavor. The cauliflower augratin was amazing!

Diamonds is a great little stake house. The food is always top quality, the stakes are always cooked perfectly to order, the prices are very reasonable compared to other stake houses in the County, and the service is great. If you're looking for a place to eat with friends, or an intimate place for a nice dinner-date that won't break the bank... this is the place.

I love this place. The service is always good. They are very professional and respectful to there patrons. If I had a complaint it would be, they always over cook my steak. When I say med rare I mean med rare. I never complain because the steak still tastes so damn good but I do wish it was cool as I ordered it.

We've been going to Diamond's for many years and something has changed. Maybe it's a change in ownership or management or maybe they are a victim of their own success but my wife and I have noticed slow change in our past few visits and we're not impressed. Howell is a charming place to live but it does not have the best choices in good dining options so I can understand why Diamond's is usually busy and I don't mind waiting for a table but when the quality of the food begins to slip and the service becomes ridiculously slow, it's time to forage around for better options. The food has suffered the least. When it is good, it is very good but too often I've had to return food either because the order was wrong or the plate sat too long and the food was cold. The service, on the other hand, is crippled by the unfortunate lay out of the too tiny kitchen and some occasionally bad wait staff. Our last visit on an unusually busy Wednesday night was marred by extremely slow service. Once our order was taken it was ages before we got our soup and salad and I could have read most of War and Peace before we received our entrees. It was apparent that the miniscule kitchen was overwhelmed as there was always a long line of waitstaff standing front of the window waiting for their orders. I overheard people at surrounding tables commenting on the long waits. On another visit the place wasn't nearly as busy but our server totally forgot three different items/requests. Not good. I guess the trick is to catch the place on a slow night. And if the owners don't figure out how to expand that kitchen and improve service it won't be long before slow nights will be the norm especially as new options come to town.

My wife and I revisited and decided to try the ribeye steak again,we had our concerns from the previous experience made known to the head chief, and he was very apologetic. He said he would see to it that it was prepared as we requested, to our delight it was perfect! There steaks are angus with no hormones so they tend to be a leaner cut of meat, which is understandable and fine with me. In fact I would prefer it. There sides you chose with the meal are excellent, I recommend the crispy Brussels spouts or grilled asparagus, they have become our new favorite!

It's disappointing to see Yelp only "recommends" positive reviews but I'll take the time and effort to write a negative review in an attempt to save someone the disappointment we experienced. First, it took over an hour to have our food served after ordering. There is no excuse for this, even if "a couple of people called in sick and the kitchen was backed up." We had a reservation, it's a small place. Know your limitations. Second, one of our party ordered prime rib, medium rare. There was no pink in the meat at all. After waiting over an hour for the overcooked prime rib, you'd think the staff would make an adjustment. Waiter offered free dessert, but after waiting that long with a two-year old and an infant, that's the last thing we wanted. More waiting. Waiter did apologize and said the manager would come talk to us but she didn't. Even when we told waiter some time later she didn't come by, she still never did. Huge disappointment for our group who was attempting to have a decent meal on Father's Day. Never again will we patronize such a mismanaged enterprise.

Only been twice, but have loved the food, had great service, and had the best Carrot Cake ever both times. It's not really expensive, but for us is a nicer place to go. It is a bit crowded and loud, but that's more the building layout than anything. Very enjoyable!

We recently visited Diamond's for our daughter's birthday. She's a fan of steaks and with no Texas Roadhouse within miles, we googled this gem. I called and asked if it was appro's for kids and they assured me very politely that it was. So we packed up the kids and headed west. :) We arrived and it was dead. (It was a Tuesday night around 6ish.) Our food was wonderful but our service, no so much which always stinks. :( My steak was cooked more medium than medium well but I chose to suffer through it. (Not really, it was still delish!) The potatoes were great also. The kids loved their meals which is always a plus. We will definitely go back and have better service. :)

Thank you for your patience and understanding and for exercising your true talent as a chef! xo

The brussels sprout dish is amazing! It's just the right amount of sweet, and there's a little bit of a kick. The pike was good, but not as amazing as the brussels sprouts

Only been twice, but have loved the food, had great service, and had the best Carrot Cake ever both times. It's not really expensive, but for us is a nicer place to go. It is a bit crowded and loud, but that's more the building layout than anything. Very enjoyable!

Thank you for your patience and understanding and for exercising your true talent as a chef! xo

The food and service were excellent! We had salmon, white fish, mushrooms, asparagus, and tomato soup. We don't have one single complaint.

Came into Diamonds tonight for our Anniversary Dinner. From the moment Madi sat us until Seth finished our service, everything was exceptional. Portion sizes could have been more generous for the price, but my Coconut Shrimp as well as the Hubby's Scallops were perfectly cooked! Friendly Atmosphere, good service. Thank You Diamonds for making our Anniversary Memorable!

We hadn't eaten at Diamonds for years but decided to give it a try a few weeks ago. It was outstanding, We loved it! We've had the steak tips and the Lemon Caper Whitefish. Outstanding! No complaints about the service either. It is a small place to it can be a wait for a table.

Very good steakhouse in Howell. Been around for 30 years. The place is quaint and has small town charm. Casual dress is perfectly fine. Service was very promt and helpful. All the food was very good and prices are on par with your local chain steakhouse but honestly the food here is way better. Steaks were thick and cooked perfectly. Great seasoning and a really nice char. Sides were a great compliment to the meal. The asparagus and seasoned apples were excellent. Salad was crisp and the break with cinnamon butter was delicious. I would repeat and have no problem recommending this place to my friends. Great steak and seafood place that wont break the bank by any means. Didn't try the desserts.

Excellent food and reasonable prices! The interior needs updating and the service wasn't great. Overall- a very nice place!
