Delicious fresh veggie omelet and friendly service! A nice, clean family diner. Thank you!

Very nice looking place. Started with a bowl of lemon rice soup..a bit runny with minimal rice and no chicken, it was ok. Our dinners consisted of 5pc butterfly shrimp, lightly breaded and tasted good but, the roll and mashed potatoes(spec request) left much to be desired. My gf had the Mediterranean platter..she wasn't impressed with the flavoring...didn't care for the flavors of it all around and the chicken was just ok. I would say we didn't prefer this place. Really had higher hopes for this place from the rating and comments.

I searched for the restaurant because of all the outstanding reviews. I thought it would be downtown, but it was actually a bit further down the street than that. I got there around 1:15 but decided to have breakfast. I ordered the Florentine omelette with hash browns & rye toast. It looked lovely, presented on a pretty plate. The omelette had bacon and tomatoes all over it, spinach and ricotta cheese peeking out. But, it tasted just ok. Not outstanding, but not bad. It was a little wet for my taste, and not quite hot enough. I'd have sent it back to be heated a bit, but I was really hungry. The hashbrowns were crispy on top but a bit greasy. I don't understand why most restaurants only crisp the top; it shouldn't be hard to flip them over for a minute & crisp the bottom as well. They do have wifi, but it's not open; you have to ask for the code -- which happens to be their phone number. I would consider going there again, but I don't think I would seek it out specifically.

Tried to eat here today.. Got there twenty minutes after they opened and were greeted by cash piled next to a check near the register. Stood there for more than 5 minutes and no persons appeared for any reason. Place felt under managed so we left.. Not sure why it even gets two stars

My husband and I went to Brunner's for the first time today. We had breakfast. They serve breakfast all day. We were promptly seated. The service was fairly quick, especially considering it was a busy Sunday morning. I ordered the veggie omelette with hash browns. The omelette was full of fresh veggies and the hash browns were nice and crispy. My husband ordered eggs cooked over medium. The eggs he received were cooked over easy. If you are looking for a typical Coney Island style breakfast, this is your place. There was nothing special or great about the place that stuck out to me, and the menu was very ordinary. Food was good and service was quick!

It's hard to find a place that has good breakfast and good service....this place has both. I had the Florentine omelette and it was great! The hash browns were alas very good, cooked just right.

Been here at least 5 more times since I wrote the original review and my positive opinion for this establishment, it's owners, staff and quality/variety of food continues to grow. This remains my staple go-to feel good restaurant in Howell.

Ate breakfast, was really good and the wait staff was awesome. If ask for something they didn't just say no or I can't. They said yes I will make it happen. How often do you find that. Awesome. I will go back and I have three times.

Large portions, delicious food, reasonably priced and great service. I'm a regular and have never had a bad experience. Restaurant and bathrooms are always clean.

This review is on behalf of my whole family and I... This place is a GEM! I'm from the area but moved to L.A several years ago and every time I visit home, Brunner's is a must. My parents still go almost every Friday night and send me pictures of their meals off of the awesome Dinner Special's menu. You can tell the head chef really takes pride in what he does and manages to come up with some really creative/delicious dishes. The staff is always sweet as well. I've taken my baby to the restaurant on several occasions and they are always very kind and patient with us. I seriously don't have a bad thing to say about this place. I hope more people realize what a great place it is. It would be a total shame and disappointment to see it go down!

Breakfast here is a must have! Small family style atmosphere. Banana nut pancakes are amazing ... I dream about them every Saturday morning wishing I had one to stop in.

Found the restaurant on yelp; read the reviews and decided to try it out. Unfortunately we were disappointed in our food. The salmon cakes were very dry, as well as the mashed potatoes. The chicken in the cob salad was burnt and lastly the french onion soup was extremely salty. I get that it's a slaty soup to begin with but this was ridiculous. I wasn't expecting a gourmet meal but I wasn't expecting it to be this bad. However to point out the good in our visit, our waitress was nice and the pretzel appetizer was good.

Brunners catered lunch today for my employees at Country Lane Flower Shop. The employees loved it! Said it was one of the best lunches I ever got for them! Thanks for keeping our stomach full during this holiday time! Great Job!

This is a good little breakfast spot. Big portions of well-prepared food, good coffee, and friendly service means hubby and I will likely return next time we're in the neighborhood.

Note: This is based on one breakfast experience. I was scared when I moved from metro Detroit, I wouldn't be able to find a good breakfast joint. This totally will work for me! Super clean, diner-feel, but with plenty of comfy booths. Kid-friendly and great menu. Being unbearably pregnant and craving the sweeter side of breakfast, I opted for the Sweet Treat French toast, which was covered in cooked apples (OK, and sugar!). Oh, NOM. It tasted like an elephant ear and I was in heaven. I couldn't finish it though - big portions, so no need for a side order of anything! Hubby was very happy with his Mediterranean omelet as well. I saw about 10 things I'd like to try, so we'll be back for sure to make our way through the breakfast menu. I thought their prices were FAB. $5-$6 for most choices. Our bill with two coffees (and tip) was only $22. Can't beat that for a breakfast we wouldn't make for ourselves at home!

Hands down best breakfast in town. My boyfriend and I go at least once a week, sometimes more and I have never been disappointed with anything I have gotten there. Haven't tried a ton of their lunch or dinner but I have only herd and seen good things. All their stuff is super fresh.

We just had the worst experience at Brunners. The lemon rice soup tasted like soap. It took forever to get our food, then half of us were done eating by the time the rest of our group got their food. Toast was burnt on one side. Our waitress didn't come back to refill our drinks or clear soup/salad plates from our table. It was just not good at all.

They serve breakfast even at lunch time!! Chicken noodle soup is really good. If I am ever feeling under the weather and happen to be in Howell, I'm ordering this soup to go! Yum. I ordered a summer special called the Beach. It was missing something, maybe needed a little kick of spice. Too much mayo and Swiss for my taste buds. Kids had chicken fingers and Mickey Mouse pancakes. The chicken fingers were solid white meat and fries were very crunchy. Pancake was fluffy and sausage was flavorful. Not great but worth another visit.

Had the Latino Benny special and it was very good. BF had Irish corned beef hash and was disappointed as while it was not out of a can, it was deli style. Coffee is mediocre. Fast and friendly service. We would come back.

They serve great food with good service for a quality price. They can get you in and out at breakfast time for less than $10 for coffee and a big breakfast. Their Michigan salad is really good.

Love Love Love! Great food with exceptional service. Even at their busiest time I've never had to wait more than five minutes for a table. I try their special every Sunday and every week it gets better. I was getting pretty bored with the local breakfast joints always serving the same thing week after week (stuff you can make at home).Brunner's has a new special every week with items you wouldn't necessarily make for yourself. Keep up the good work! :)

My husband and I love going there! Great food and a lovely staff!

Best restaurant in Howell by far. Food is fresh with a great home cooked taste. Wish they were open for dinner, too!
(5)Pachoulii H.
it's reopened (july 2010) and better than ever! someone needs to change this.

Re-Opened!!! and a still family owned. They did some awesome specials for Father's Day. Two of my favorite Brunch picks are always the Irish Hash and and the Gyro-meat omelet. The prices aren't the lowest in town but the service is fantastic. On busy Sundays there can be a short wait because the food always smells that good. They can and will accommodate large groups and kids. This is a nice family place the kind you frequent often and they remember you and what it is you like to drink. Glad that they are back.
