A breath of fresh air for the Copper Country. This place has big city feel in a small college town. They have the coolest bar in the area and I imagine the largest selection around as well. The back lit bar is pretty cool. The bowling alley has 18 lanes and 6 of them have lounge chairs and couches instead of the usual bowling seats. The arcade is great for kids and adults looking to have a little fun. In the Summer the mini golf and go cart track make an entertaining place even better. The food in the restaurant is always good but a touch limited. Their service can sometimes be suspect and you may have to ask someone for a menu.

This is a great place to take the kids to blow off some steam - games, bowling, and more. Even fun for an adult date night. We are a big fan of their salads - the Cobb salad is our favorite. We never leave hungry. The portions are generous and loaded with toppings, not just a bowl of lettuce. Many beer choices and other drinks are available (full bar). I've never had problems with the service, the waitstaff has always been prompt and friendly.

Stopped for supper. Chicken Fried Chicken had almost an inch of breading that fell off on first cut. Fettuccine Alfredo was runny and the chicken tasted like it was out of a can. Last time in Houghton we ate here, had burgers and they were great. 50 for us on the food here.

If there is one thing I really enjoy it's a good steak! I had the sirloin here, it was cooked right. But it was a little tough but had good flavor. I have had better steaks back home, an thought it was a good bargain @ under $17, but considered it to be a good overall dining experience. The bartender was awesome, so friendly. I like the bar a lot. I would like to give it another chance sometime, because the atmosphere is so cool. Would definitely go back again. ((((( -1 star right up front, {no rib-eye steaks' on menu}))))))) Recommend.....Grade B-

I like this place. They closed down for awhile and when they reopened I think it got a better. The food is pretty good. The games on the other side and the bowling alley are really fun to go to.

The Rock House was a recommendation from the front desk staff and I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is attached to an indoor arcade / bowling alley. Much like a Dave and Busters only a much smaller scale. The restaurant bar has the standard beers on tap along with a few local brews. I ordered the Tuscan salad which was outstanding. The salad is served on a crispy bread much like toast with field greens, tomatoes, red onion, and mozzarella. The dressing was a basil pesto dressing that was outstanding. The fried cheese curds were also a top pick.

I went here not expecting much. I was surprised by the low prices and good food (keep in mind that I lived in Atlanta for awhile and things are A LOT more expensive there). Pros: Bowling was not too expensive, alcoholic drinks are pretty cheap (I bought a 4 beer KBC sampler for only $4 and a mixed drink for $5). Also, the building is fairly new and clean. Often bowling alleys are old and rundown - this place was not rundown. Con: The arcade area lacked a bit: some machines were out of order, there were not too many games, and the ATM was out of order. The black lights and disco lights in the bowling area were a little annoying - it was busy and we were not asked which lanes we preferred. The black light area seemed to be more for kids. The food was WAY better than I expected. I was expecting low par burgers and pizza. This place actually has a large menu and a variety of items. I rarely get BBQ ribs because of bad quality I have ordered in the past but I ordered it here because another review recommended it. This place has the best BBQ sauce I have tasted in a long time. The meat easily came off the bone. Also, I ordered the half order and the portion size was pretty big. I barely finished it. I would definitely come back for the ribs and other BBQ. My friend ordered the pulled pork sandwich and it was pretty good. She was full but finished it since it was so good. The chili was decent. The onion rings and sweet potato fries were decent. My friend ordered the Copper Country Chicken and it was pretty good, although there was a little too much oil. The nachos were just okay, but to be fair I didn't read the description very well. It comes with A LOT of cheese and not really any vegetables. The chips were not low quality like the ones that some places use. The nachos were actually baked in an oven and not microwaved (I know because I worked at a restaurant). Compared to large cities, the prices were low AND the portion sizes were larger. Locals might not realize this. I have paid a lot more for lower quality food in Atlanta. This place reminds me of a small Dave and Busters.

My first time here and it was alright. I would come back again, but this would be a must stop at place for me. I live out of the area and come home on vacation and this area is my home...there are places I must stop at every time k make it home and this will not make the cut. The service was good, food was tasty, but just not quite good enough. For example, the appetizer of the Chips and Cheese...I asked for salsa on the side too and the salsa seemed to have came out of a jar. So, to give any flavor, we mixed the salsa and cheese to enjoy the appetizer some...lol

My father and I both ordered BBQ pulled pork sandwiches to-go. I expected mediocrity, and ended up with results far worse. The sandwiches were doused in grease, making the meal incredibly sloppy, and removing any taste from the meat. Barbecue sauce was nearly nonexistant, and the accompanying fries did nothing to aid the dish. The biggest failure of a lunch I've had in the UP.

Just okay. First, I asked for a local brew, was told they're changing the keg, so it'd be a few minutes. No problem. Then she came back and said they were all out of the beer I'd requested, recommended a canned IPA which was okay. I ordered deep fried pickles, they were okay but a side of barbecue sauce? Not a good match. My side salad arrived well before my appetizer, and I'd ordered blue cheese dressing but was served ranch. I ordered a sirloin, medium rare, with side of rice. The steak was 1/3 medium well, 2/3 well. Friendly staff, so-so food. Don't know if I'll be back.

Well, yesterday's service was appalling! Traveled 2 hours and this was a planned stop in our daily itinerary. I had been there about 4 years ago and found it to be a fun place. Upon arrival we ordered kids meals for the 2 children and went to the arcade area to stretch legs and get active. About half of the games did not work properly so we decided to go back for food. Received appetizers and then pizza. Asked waitress why kids meals were taking so long and was told the meat was bad, but it was getting corrected and would be fine to eat. Tasted pizza and it was foul, fermented marinara taste, server took it back and with in minutes the owner approached us. Several times the owner came back to tell us their was nothing wrong with the pizza. After the 4th time we asked her to leave the table as we had already re-ordered and we were trying to enjoy our meal. She immediately got out of order and threatened to call the police. We offered to take our food to go and were escorted out of the restaurant. NEVER HAVE WE HAD SERVICE LIKE THIS! 3 of the 6 adults in our group are business owners and we could not believe the scene and circumstances. Definitely not a place for children! Our 2 and 7 years olds were crying and very scared! We will not return.

Had the Pulled Pork plate nice taste and the BBQ sauce tasted great. Good food and nice service. Our waitress knew every single beer they had there which was impressive.

Good pub food. Nothing gourmet, but good food. Limited menu. Calzone is the favorite of my partner. Noisy because of the attached bowling alley & game room.

We stopped in for a light meal. Ordered the nacho plate. Gigantus. Pretty good and loaded from the top to bottom, not just topped off like some nacho dishes. The waitress was very talkative and friendly. You can Rock in this House.
