Very cute location! They make real espresso! You can order dessert for breakfast! What's not to love!

First visit to Biscuit. Did an online search for Holland breakfast places and this one kept coming up. I love trying new places especially when I'm out of town. This place unique and quaint. The menu was original and priced just a tad above your typical 'greasy spoon' but definitely worth it. I tried the 'Eggs Liliana' and it was not only mouthwatering but something I had never had before. The Biscuit has quickly become a favorite. I hope to visit again soon.

So glad we found this place for breakfast. It was a perfect spot. I had a veggie omlet and the eggs were so fluffy. My entire table loves their food! We went out for breakfast at three different places in Holland and this was the best by far.

I'm so happy we were able to drop in. It has been too long since we have seen one another, TBC Chicken Apple hash never faileth. Pretty bummed about the Eggs Lilyana* not having the pork shoulder anymore. I would've like the sausage to be mixed into the entree not just over it. Of course, the biscuits were superb with that homemade strawberry jam-- yummy! Love this place so much, we always leave with an entree to take back east to our home.

What a great find this was! I wish I lived closer so I could frequent this establishment. And, I found it on Yelp! Located in a small shopping area in a neighborhood, this restaurant is unassuming, but nice looking both in and out. Clean, too. Service was very good. Now for the best part; the food. I had the Veggie Hash. Everything was cooked properly and the heirloom potatoes were a bonus. Coffee was much better than average. My SO had French Toast that looked like dessert. Bacon was also ordered. She loved her food, too. I can see this place filling up, as it's not too large. We got there early, so it was not a problem for us.

My wife and I had brunch (more like a late breakfast) here on a Saturday morning. As we walked up, we could tell there was a long wait. Our total wait time was about 25 mins. Service is quick, so waiting isn't too bad. Since this was our first time here, we liked how it was very busy. I had the eggs Harper and my wife had the salmon crepes. The Eggs Harper was delicious. The caramelized onions gives it a nice contrast to the eggs, biscuit, and bacon. I recommend over easy eggs on this dish. As for the salmon crepes, we agreed it wasn't as tasty as my order, but good for what it was and it we appreciated an option other than the norm. It's difficult to describe, but we thought it was missing something to the taste. Still, worth trying. Definitely check this place out which is right outside of downtown on a small town street. If coming with a group, get here early since the place isn't that big unless you don't mind waiting.

This place sets the bar for what a breakfast/brunch place should be. The menu was riddled with items made in house and fresh. Absolutely delicious...A must try. Our waitress Amanda was not only friendly but was knowledgeable about the menu.

I love love love this place. Today was my first time ever going there and I loved it! My husband and I decided we wanted a really good breakfast this morning so we thought why not give it a try? It was surprisingly busy for a Thursday. We were seated in a timely fashion. The waitress was very polite and recommended her favorites. I ended up having the peanut butter waffles. Waffles with peanut butter mousse, strawberries, caramel sauce, and vanilla whipped cream. Can it get any better? my husband tried the breakfast tacos and they were a hit! Good balance of flavor. Also for how much they give you, it is very well priced. Definitely recommend it to anyone. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, and most importantly, great food.

We stopped at The Biscuit randomly on our way up north after finding it on yelp. I have to say, the reviews I read prior to stopping did not disappoint. We stopped in around 10am on Saturday and they had a line. We waited about 25 minutes to be seated, but it was well worth the wait. Our server was nice enough but the food was the star. The menu has unique options I wouldn't usually consider putting together as well as the traditional breakfast items. At our table we had a waffle, frittata, French toast, and the daily special (biscuit with goat cheese) - everything was so good we just ended up taking bites off of each other's plates because we wanted to try everything. Whether you're in the area or just stopping through, I highly suggest giving The Biscuit a shot!

Prior reviews state that the food is the selling point for the Biscuit. I have to agree, because it is certainly not the customer service. Our waitress had her nose just a little too high in the air. Food was fantastic, especially the chicken apple hash and the granola pancakes. Worth checking out if you don't like... Talking to people.

It's a small place located on a cute but abandoned strip of buildings. Not sure why so many places are out of biz. We came on a sat early afternoon and got seated right away. The three of us ordered: Huevos Rancheros, biscuits and gravy, and the peanut butter marscapone waffles. All were delish! They even have a lovely selection of tea. I had the organic rooibos chai and it was great. Some complained here that staff is not friendly. We had a good experience even though the waitress wasn't very outgoing. I've also seen reviews about portion size. Sizes are a bit smaller than a normal restaurant however, the ingredients are fresh so a ton of food isn't needed. We all left full. When in town again, I will be back...

Went here for lunch. They have a variety of breakfast and lunch options. I got the cinnamon french toast special. It was good but very small. I left hungry. It also was around 10 dollars which was definitely expensive. My friend had a spicy chorizo type omelette. He liked it. Parking is a challenge on the street and they dont take amex which is a pain for expense reports. Service was ok.

Love The Biscuit! I recently moved to Holland and so far, this is my favorite breakfast/brunch place (and not just because it's a short walk from home). I have been tackling the favorites list on the menu and have been super happy every time. Chicken Apple hash? So good. Spanish Bennies? Right on! They don't do poached eggs, but they will do basted, which I can live with. All of their food is fresh, tasty, and not the same old thing you get everywhere else. Their biscuits and strawberry jam are also excellent, as is their coffee, and the service is timely and usually very friendly and helpful. My only complaint, which is the same for most restaurants in Holland, is that they use styrofoam for their to go containers. Gross! It's 2015, you know better; I mean, even fast food restaurants stopped using that garbage a LONG time ago. It's nasty and wildly environmentally irresponsible, and the only reason they don't get five stars. You're better than that. Step up.

You can't be in a hurry at The Biscuit. The service has never been fast, but the food makes up for all that for the patient folk. I can say with pride that I have tried every item on page two of the menu, and every time I have not been disappointed with the wonderful food that comes out of the kitchen. You can't go wrong! The only thing that saddens me is that the Breakfast Brownie used to be the most over-the-top gorgeous dish on the menu, and now it's been reduced to something ala carte.

We stopped here on the way home from Grand Rapids for brunch. I really enjoyed the food, as did my husband; everything we ordered came out quickly and was hot and delicious. However, it's hard not to be slightly disgruntled at the horrible waitress we had. The lady who sat us was very nice, as was the guy who put our name on the waiting list, but this waitress was just awful. At first it was mostly just that she didn't say or do much beyond take our orders (no small talk, didn't ask if we had questions, etc.) and then it became slightly ridiculous to get refills on coffee. It was almost as if she was deliberately ignoring my husband. The worst though, was when she laid down the check and started to walk away (again, not saying anything like "thanks", "have a good day") and I asked if we paid in the front. She gave me this look and response as if I was an idiot. We couldn't believe how rude it was; we actually laughed about it in disbelief! I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or what, but that's unacceptable. We were extremely polite and pretty low maintenance, so I don't understand why we were treated that way. As a result, the next time we're in the area we will NOT be back.

My wife and I had breakfast here during our anniversary get away. The food was great. They were very creative with their menu. More than your typical breakfast place. The coffee was a bit weak but we like it strong. The atmosphere was pleasant. You could have breakfast and a nice conversation. We will visit there again on our trip.

My favorite breakfast joint in the area. Portions are not huge, but everything is great! Haven't had to wait to get a table yet. The location worries me a bit, as there's a lot of closed businesses and this place needs to survive for my own well being. I've had several items on the menu, all has made me happy.

I wasn't overly impressed. The food was okay. That's it, just okay. For the money, portions were small. But everything tasted fresh, so that is a plus

I have a bit of a mixed review. I loved my eggs, ordered Migas and they were excellent! This is the kind of meal you go out for! The other guest in our party ordered Blueberry Pancakes & Biscuits and Gravy. The Blueberry Pancakes were good, but they brought out one small cup of butter and cold maple syrup. There was a lot of nice, fresh blueberries in the pancakes and the pancakes were nice and fluffy. The the gravy with the biscuits was also good but was pretty heavy on the herbs, it was like eating rosemary and thyme gravy.... not sausage gravy. I would go back, but I will definitely only order food that I wouldn't make in my own kitchen. I don't always have chorizo on hand but I can do better with pancakes. The service was adequate, we had our waitresses attention, when we needed it... we would have liked a little bit more interaction with her, but she got the job done. We never really wanted for anything (drink refills, extra butter ect.) but we felt a bit ignored overall. I know it sounds like we really didn't like it but I do want to go back. The Irish Bennies sound delicious, so we will give them another chance!

I know people are entitled to their own opinion but these reviews are CRAZY! The biscuit is the best place for breakfast and prices and services are as good or better then anywhere around. Service is wonderful the waitresses let you enjoy your food without all the interuptions. Portion size is perfect.I am 6'3 270 and never leave hungry! Eggs Harper Rose is the best! Have and will continue to go every weekend, people who dont like it thanks for not coming leaves more open tables for the ones with sense.

I had heard so many good things about this place just last night that I asked my husband to take me here for breakfast this morning. I WANTED to love this place. So badly. I read the menu online before we went and was almost drooling on the keyboard. The interior is cute and it was busy, both good signs... However, they really should rename this place the "The Non-existent Biscuit." They were the flattest and most dry biscuits I have ever had. And they were very small. What a disappointment when a plate of two costs $5+! I cannot imagine paying $2 for ONE additional biscuit. That is bonkers. They were about the size of the bottom of a pop can, to give you a small mental image. I ordered the biscuits and gravy meal. The gravy was served stone cold, and while an ample portion was provided (much more than you could ever eat with the provided tiny doll sized biscuits), it tasted purely of thyme and there were no discernible chunks of sausage, which made me feel let down. My husband also ordered a coffee and was never offered a refill during our meal. Our waitress was fine, neither overtly friendly or too removed, but someone should note coffee refills during busy weekend breakfast. There were a few good things I noted about my experience at the Biscuit. One, the eggs were obviously fresh, which is always nice, and two, the toppings provided on the expensive biscuit tray we ordered were above average. The lemon curd was so delicious I was dipping my finger in the bowl to finish it when there were no more biscuits! Onion jam was a unique accompaniment I was glad to have tried. Maybe I only have myself to blame. The people who recommended this place usually order the sweet stuff, like pancakes, and I'm not a pancake person...I'm a biscuit person. That's why I though a place called The Biscuit would be right up my alley, a match made in heaven, and my new favorite spot. Sadly, if I ever want to come back, I think I'll have to come alone...and it will probably only be if I get a really bad craving for lemon curd.

Came here to get away from the down town busy-ness. We had a variety of things, all very good. The pancakes where a hit!! Those alone will make sure stop by again before we leave area. The egg dishes where cooked just right. The huevos rancheros were pretty good as well. It was busy when we arrived but there was a constant flow so not to bad a wait.

The food is still amazing. Excellent coffee and fresh food. Homemade jam with the biscuits. The sausage gravy is beyond words on how good it is. The service here is top notch. The have very creative meals that won't disappoint you.

I went with my wife, our college age daughter and her friend...arrived on a Sunday morning about 10:30. We were seated and served promptly by friendly and attentive staff. Was very pleasant and clean - a breath of fresh air compared to having to go to a chain for a real breakfast. I has the Migas, my wife and our daughter's friend had the eggs Harper Rose, and my daughter had the Berries and cream french toast. Everything was served promptly and tasted very good. Not fantastic/greatest breakfast on the planet...but VERY good and interesting food. Appreciate that the helpings were adequate and no more...not too huge. Only marginal thing we had was the jalapeno biscuit...and it was...average...dry and not much flavor. Highly recommend this place as a "real" place with a relaxed friendly atmosphere and very good food.

This is a terrific little place. Definitely worth a trek out from the main downtown area where all the restaurants seem to be clustered. We got here around 1130 and had a wait of around 30 minutes. It was well worth it though. Servers were friendly and attentive and polite. I highly recommend the Salmon Biscuit. It was amazing! If we ever go back to this gem of town in MI, we will definitely go back here.

Because of the reviews we saw here, we invited some family to meet us for breakfast today. The service was excellent. Our waitress was prompt and very friendly. The food was absolutely incredible! Everyone was very pleased with their choices and because the portions are quite large, we all were able to try each others' selection. Yes! Do go give this place a try. We will be back many times!

First time on recommendation of friends. Place is pleasant. Food presented well but taste underwhelming & way over seasoned (potatoes & even the plain pancakes). Service fine. Think menu too complicated for breakfast/lunch spot. Not sure we will return.

Been there for breakfast and loved it, so thought I'd try lunch. I was the only person there since the whole town is shut down due to the Polar Vortex. I had a super egg salad sandwich on whole wheat, chips and pasta salad for $6.00! Outstanding value, great service!

Only a food snob would not adore this place. From the moment I walked into the door, I knew I was in love. The color scheme is gorgeous - yellows, blues, and reds - really fun and lively. This place was BUSY. We wait about 20 minutes for a table - not a bad wait at all - and they offer a large bench to sit on while you wait. Once the menu was in front of me - I had a hard time deciding between sweet vs. savory. We started with savory and went back the next day for something sweet for breakfast. Day 1 - I ordered the Taco Plate. Only complaint? Wasn't spicy enough - but I had hot sauce on the table and that fixed that right up. My husband had the Spanish Bennies. Both contained some of the best chorizo I've ever tasted. We enjoyed our food so much the first day, that the very next day, we went back and had the Berries and Cream French Toast (best French toast I've ever had) and the peanut butter mousse waffle. I'm not a big "food presentation" person - food can look horrible - and still taste very good - and food can look real pretty - and taste like cardboard. The Biscuit gets it just right. Delicious foods presented beautifully on the plate. The service was just right. Not stuffy - not "wanna-be hipster chic" - just normal helpful people. Both times, I felt like the portions were large and I am VERY confused by the reviews indicating a small portion. We ate breakfast quite early on Saturday - and I was stuffed until dinner at 7:30pm that night. This definitely seemed to have a "locals vibe" as quite a few of the guests seemed to know the wait staff. We felt welcome none-the-less. The second day, a gentleman whom I'm thinking might be the owner?, came to chat with us - having recognized us from the day before. The only disappointment? Not being open on Monday - would have had another meal there before heading out of town!

Starting with the excellent coffee (with real cream) and continuing with the creative entrees, this is the go-to breakfast place for my wife and me. Everything we've tried is delicious, but the huevos rancheros and granola pancakes are our favorites. The huevos are in fact on a par with those I've had in Santa Fe. (And if you've had them at Cafe Pasquals, you know what I mean.)

  • John S.

Quaint restaurant, good food. Eggs Harper Rose highlights the biscuits and the onion jam is a great sweet flavor. Kids pancake shaped like a puppy made my son's day! We came just before they closed on a Sunday and there was very little wait. Friendly wait staff as well. Only weak point as the potatoes that came with the egg breakfast. Nothing remarkable about them.

First time here for breakfast. My first impression was that is was quaint, clean, and classy. The service was good. The food was not impressive. High prices for such small portions and the biscuits were terribly dry. Lots of tasty toppings to help though. Also, my potatoes were not cooked all the way through. I don't think I'll be back.

3.5 stars. I would have given this place a full four stars had they not run out of ingredients! My mom saw The Biscuit being promoted on the local news channel, so off we went to Holland for some brunch. A cute, quaint, restaurant in downtown Holland. Definitely full of locals- walked in, and most of the restaurant consisted of gray hair. Nonetheless, we were seated right away. I was about to order the berries and cream french toast..and they informed me that they were out of brioche french toast. What???? It's in at least two of your menu items...you couldn't tell me this before???? Sadness. Instead, they substituted their walnut and cranberry focaccia bread instead. Nonetheless, it was a good substitution- the bread was light and fluffy, and the combination of fresh berries plus berry flavored mascarpone cheese and cream was super light, refreshing, and tasty. My parents split the eggs liliana- pork hash and tomato gravy. My mom thought the potato was a tad overdone...but they commented the flavor was good with the entire tomato gravy sauce flavors. They also enjoyed the biscuit. Overall, they gave it an "it was okay...I've had better." They liked my dish better. So, definitely go here for french toast.... for the price they charge, the portions are not really up to par with the price, so the portions could be bigger...and don't run out of ingredients! Nonetheless, a breakfast spot to stop in when shopping around Holland....

Great little gem of a restaurant off the beaten path (i.e. not downtown)! Their menu is extremely creative with great pairings. My son loved the mountain of pancakes with bananas, strawberries and whipped cream. I had the Eggs Harper Rose and the onion jam was amazing. Just sweet enough to complement the saltiness of the bacon. My husband had the Chicken Apple Hash which was incredible. Great service and variety. Highly recommended!

The food was good, and very quaint atmosphere. I had the biscuits and gravy, which was one of the best I've had. They are kid friendly and local, two things that are important to me. Also had a cappuccino, which was delicious. A definite recommendation for locals and tourists, alike.

Stopped in for brunch on a Sunday morning with out of town guests. Everyone enjoyed their breakfast and it was very busy around noon on Sunday. There was a short wait but it was well worth it! I had the Sedona scramble and it was amazing. Other people in my party had biscuits and gravy, apple hash and eggs and the buttermilk pancakes. Everything came out quick and it was perfect. Our waitress was very busy but she checked up on us frequently. I live in Holland and I will definitively be back for lunch next time and for breakfast. The Biscuit is off the beaten path but they definitively pull in business with the locals.

We drove from our cabin in Fennville to Holland because the menu seemed unique and the reviews were good. I loved the atmosphere, very artsy with a touch of cuteness (A quote from one of the owner's daughters is painted on a wall for all customers to see.) They had a nice selection of teas and their menu was definitely very interesting. It seemed like the local hang out for brunch, so that was also pretty cool. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. I ordered their Spanish Benny and Tim ordered the biscuits and gravy, which were both served room temperature to cold. My hollandaise sauce and his gravy were both bland as well. I really want to give it more than 2 stars, but the food was the deal breaker. It is a restaurant, after all.

  • Jeremy V.

Waiting is worth it although this the only reason it is not 5 stars, we waited 30 min. and there seemed to be no rush or extra effort to fill the tables. The food was very good and they offer different options to breakfast that are appealing. The server was very good and very friendly, we really liked her. We spent our time waiting walking Washington Square which was a good way to kill some time. We will be back!!

One of my favorite places in Holland! The owners and wait staff are all so friendly. You can't go wrong with any item on their menu-- breakfast or lunch. Their cook is gluten-intolerant, which is helpful to have when you have family members in the same boat. Their specialty biscuits are to die for--wish they shipped them out to Washington! Overall, I place I always visit when I'm back in town. Can't miss it.

  • Leang E.

I am so glad this place has been added to Washington Square. What a nice spot to get together and have a meal. I got a cappuccino here and they make their own caramel syrup. It was delicious. I was tempted to get another one to go. I got the Eggs Harper Rose, and it was pretty good. The portion was smaller than I expected. The harsh thing to say is that it's a glorified breakfast sandwich, and if there were potatoes or something on the side I might feel differently - like I had gotten my money's worth because it is basically $8 for a breakfast sandwich. I feel like I should have gotten something else where I felt like my plate was filled. I would still come back though. I think the service was just ok, and felt like I was missing the welcoming feeling of my hometown.

    (3)
  • Andrew V.

I can only rate the service because I never got to eat... There were several open tables for my party of 2, but we were ignored for 10 minutes while standing in the entrance. There was one party of 6 ahead of us patiently waiting for a table, and a line of people waiting to pay. Who's job is it to seat people at this place?? I'm from Chicago and am used to being helped within a minute or so of walking into a restaurant. Is that not normal?

Very cute restaurant in a quaint area of Holland, but unfortunately the food and portions just don't do it for me. I was really hoping I would love this place because it is cute and very popular, but after visiting a few times I'm not impressed. There is always a wait (which would be fine if the food was out of this world) and my biggest complaint is the portion sizes. It feels like you are eating a diet plate, which is all good and fine, but not when I paid $9 for it! I also find it extremely annoying that one of the main items on the menu, scrambles, are unable to be customized. I got the feeling (and verified after ordering) that they are pre-made in a large vat, ugh. Aren't breakfasts one of the easiest and best things to "cook to order"? Also, we've ordered a specialty eggs benedict here before and you would assume it would come with TWO half biscuits open face and TWO eggs, I consider that to be standard for a benedict...nope, not here -- just a single biscuit with no side, not even fruit! Kind of outrageous when you're charging $8-9. I wish they would change the portion sizes and offer just a little flexibility on the menu, then I would want to go back!

I would say my first impression of this place is that it's cute and homey looking, but the overwhelming mildew smell in both rooms almost ruined my entire day. I cannot believe I am the first person to notice this! I ordered a greek salad, and I'd say it was just passable... could have used more than a few crumbles of feta cheese, and the dressing was pretty tasteless. It also included artichoke hearts (which don't really belong, in my opinion, but I do like them), however I am almost POSTIVE the pre-tossed dressing over everything was what comes out of a jar of marinated artichokes. Our waitress seemed a little young and clueless- she first asked if I wanted cole slaw or chips with my salad (??) and I asked for chips just see what would happen. (she realized later that she made a mistake). I also thought it was a bit weird that she was asking us personal questions, like, curious what we had planned for the day, and then later asking if lived in Holland- like why would she want to know that? Maybe we looked like tourists? Strange. To be fair though, she was quick with the coffee refills, fast to get our check and run our CC, and was nice overall. My husband got eggs/meat/toast, and really enjoyed his meal. The rye bread toast (swirled rye) looked great, and he said it was good. My coffee was good and strong, and super-hot.

Biscuit's my favorite place in town for breakfast. Portions are a little small, but many of the ingredients are sourced locally and are super fresh. Before I discovered I have a gluten intolerance my favorite things on the menu were their granola pancakes, or which ever the pancake/french toast special was that morning. Since, my favorites are the chicken apple hash, and the nor'easter omelet. I've tried most of the menu, and I'm not sure I've had anything that I didn't like. Fantastic breakfast spot, I still find it hard to believe that we have such a gem in Holland.

The food was great. I had their homemade cherry granola pancakes and my dining partner had the french toast. Everything was fresh from the pecans and whipped cream to the real maple syrup. The place was a little cramped and as noted by other reviewers had an odd smell. My dining partner commented on the bathroom just steps from the dining tables as being a big turn-off. I took 2 stars off for the absolutely awful service. We must have waited at least 30 minutes even though there were plenty of empty tables. The wait staff was fairly inattentive once we were seated. If you go, you'll have a great breakfast but don't go too hungry because you are going to spend a lot of time waiting.

Yum! We will definitely be back. I am looking forward to trying the South African scramble which uses local Boerwurst sausage from locally owned Montello's meat market. The service was friendly and our waitress did a great job. I'm a big fan of local restaurants that use locally made ingredients.

Went in on a late Saturday morning, saw a full waiting area and took that as a good sign. Once we sat down in a corner table and took a look at the menu I knew I wouldn't be able to decide between any of the deliciously described scrambles so I stuck with plain ol' french toast while my bf ordered the daily special scramble. It took a while longer than some other tables who were seated after us, but once the food arrived it looked great. The eggs on the scramble were light and fluffy, my brioche french toast were big triangles and the sausage rounds were fat and juicy. On the edge of my plate was a small curled black hair, which I wanted to believe had drifted on to the plate on the walk across the restaurant, so I blew it off and stated cutting the bread, only to find more little black hairs underneath. I let my server know and she looked pretty surprised and asked if I wanted something else, but my ng was almost done at the point and it wouldn't be worth the wait again. She let me know my plate would be taken off the check. Once I got to the cashier, it was clear she hadn't mentioned anything about it to who appeared to be the owner ringing us up, even though she was standing right behind him as we came up. After explains why I had send the plate back he looked at me in disbelieve and, to my complete shock, asked if I had maybe mistaken some pieces of egg as the hairs. I understand that things happen in restaurants, but for the server to not mention anything, then to have it suggested that I mistook egg for hairs instead of an apology, I don't think I could ever bring myself to give the Biscuit another chance.

I've heard good things about this from people around town, and finally ate there (twice) this week. The food that I had was great. The pulled pork was not what I was expecting (had dijon mustard instead of BBQ sauce), but was still the best pulled pork that I've had in a long time. And the pancakes and eggs were fantastic. The service both times was not up to par with the quality of food.

We enjoy this restaurant on Sunday morning's after church - be prepared to wait. The granola pancakes are amazing. The Southern Comfort Waffles are a 'go-to' comfort food. The daily specials are terrific. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming.

I've been to the biscuit about 6 or 7 times and have always been impressed with the food. In fact, this is our go-to breakfast spot whenever we have out-of-town guests. They have a decent range of breakfast choices. I get an omelet, my wife usually winds up with the waffle/pancake special, and the kids love the pancakes. We haven't had a bad meal yet, but my favorites are the chicken-apple hash and sedona (chorizo & chiles). It's definitely a higher-quality breakfast than you'll get at most places in town. It's a pretty laid-back, comfortable place. The wait staff is friendly, occasionally I need to flag someone down for a coffee refill, but I wouldn't say that's a problem. The food comes out quickly, we've never felt rushed, kids are welcome, and we've always enjoyed it. A couple of reviewers mentioned a weird smell, but I've never noticed it. I asked my wife (whose nose is much more sensitive than mine and is really bothered by "dank" smells) if she's ever noticed anything and she said, "no, not at all." I've never had lunch here, so I can't speak to that menu, but I definitely recommend this place for breakfast.

Gets extra points for friendly service and a nice familial atmosphere. We didn't try the biscuits (duh!), and went for the lunch menu, which might have been inferior to the breakfast one. My wife got an egg salad sandwich and a cup of a weird veggie chili with apparently too much cumin (which she also noticed in the coleslaw, neither of which I tasted myself). She describes the taste as that of a hard-boiled egg with some celery. I got a pulled pork sandwich, and asked for coleslaw on the side. Apparently, that also meant coleslaw *in* the sandwich (I removed it). My sandwich was 'meh'. I also had a cup of cream of mushroom soup, which drew the attention of the delightful couple sitting near us. They were absolutely thrilled with their breakfast -"the best I've ever had in my life." The life in question having been seemingly quite long already, I can only express my unnatural but culturally acquired French arrogance by regretting that the poor old soul had not experienced good food. Anyway, she intimated that my soup wasn't "Campbell's" -to which I felt like replying: "Quite right, tastes more like Progresso to me!"; but I decided not to ruin her enthusiasm.

Place was ok but wouldn't recommend. It smelled like our family's old boat house. The food was ok and portions were small but the actual biscuits were very disappointing. They're served cold or room temperature and just overall texture wasn't good. I think popeye's biscuits are better, lol. Cute mom n pop place just need improvement on the food and overhaul their biscuit recipe!
