Ok, I have eaten here three times now so I feel I can say this: Best Hamburger I have ever tasted. I haven't had anything else here yet, but the Hamburger with tater tots is awesome! While the other items can be on the pricey side, the burger is a fair deal. Thanks Itty Bitty...

Chef Doug Velo is a master of culinary moves like Bruce Lee mastered moves over Chuck Norris. Doug is mastering the hits without hurting the "victim/victor." I say victor because you can't lose on this menu. This menu rocks, except for only a couple of items. Some barmaids nice... some not so much. On the dessert side the "Interracial Cowboy" is as bad in gustatory taste as it is in lack of class in with its horrific name. Porch area is unique and connects you to the outdoors on a nice day.

At one time, was renamed the Five Star Dive Bar. The name is fitting as the food is definitely five star and it was a dive bar. They have added a nice open air section with tv's that is great in the summer. When you walk in through the main entrance, you might not expect the type of food this place puts out. There are rotating daily specials on the chalk boards that are always good, but a bit pricey for "bar" food. However, the food offerings are one of the best in the area. My favorites here are the calamari filet sandwich served on pita (only had it in the summer), their spicy chili with three proteins (also seasonal) and their couscous with chicken (may not be offered anymore or by request). I have tried most of the menu and everything is good. If you are heading to the beach, great place for a bite. Insider tip: if not in the mood for a heavy meal, they also offer a lot of "bar" dishes like sliders.

Just finished dinner at itty bitty bar. We are locals so we have eaten there before and the food is good. However there was a used napkin at the bottom of my drink! I was astounded! I immediately went to the bar with the glass and the nonchalant response told me plenty about the cleanliness of this restaurant. They were not shocked, but did offer me another drink! I said no thank you I just want to get home because this was so gross. My advice: beware, beware, beware! I am terrified because whoever used this napkin could have had anything and now I just have to "wait and see".

We went later on a Friday night - had just gotten off the lake - and needed a place to go. It was the first place i experienced in holland, and I knew right away that it was going to be a good weekend. At least, if this little bar was an indicator of how it was going to be, it was going to be just fine. I had a club sandwich, and it would have been perfect if my order had just been put in correctly. My only complaint? I asked for no bacon, and they put bacon on there. Luckily, it was easy to pick off. I love the ambiance of the itty bitty bar, but I'm my opinion it was a bit loud. Hard to have a conversation with the people you're dining with. We did go pretty late on a weekend, but it shouldn't be too loud to talk (because of the music.) Overall enjoyable. I'd go again!

The beer is good. This is the second time I have been here and the second time I have been disappointed. The first time my food was so salty I couldn't eat it and this time we ordered the nachos and the chips were flour and dry and the chicken was extremely dry and flavorless. I will be writing this place off although many of my friends seem to love it. Try it at your own risk.

Itty Bitty is a very unique, cool place. Good beer and good food. Not really family friendly, although you do see kids there. Fun place to hang out with friends though.

We've been here a few times, food is not consistently good... on one occasion went for the burgers and had invited our daughter and boyfriend to meet us there because we told them how good the burgers and fresh cut fries were. We all liked the burgers but the fries were almost black and dripping with grease, when the waitress finally came back to our table our burgers were gone and I pointed out how bad the fries tasted and looked and she even looked grossed out when she saw them, she said she'd mention it to the kitchen staff...when she returned I asked her what they said and she said the growled. We were never offered fresh fries or money off the bill etc. I was appalled at the kitchen staff's careless attitude. That being said we still have had a few good experiences but haven't been back since the last bad one.

While visiting Holland with 2 of my friends on our annual girl trip, the Itty Bitty Bar was highly recommended to us by the manager at our hotel. Since it was close by and I had already read about it on Yelp, we tried it one night. Well, it was absolutely wonderful. They were busy but our server was attentive. The food was the prize, though. One friend and I had the Fish Fry which was Grouper! It was GREAT. And the other friend had the Hanger Steak - she isn't even much of a steak person and she loved it! This was a real find - not fancy but who cares. We didn't happen to be looking for fancy that night!

Itty Bitty used to be a sure thing for great food. IT IS GOING COMPLETELY DOWNHILL!! I ordered fish tacos at the bar last week on a Sunday afternoon - once a tried and true favorite dish. What I received was Dried Fishsticks (really!) on hard and stale tortillas. The tortillas broke when you tried to fold them. Dried out refried beans with a handful of cheese on top. Who serves this?! The bartender was far too busy and preoccupied to ask if the food was okay, and I was too hungry not to eat what parts of it were edible and be on my way. But I won't do it again nor will I ever recommend it.

Four of us went last Friday about 7pm. Place was busy, which was no surprise, and we found a table in the outdoor section. Food was great; two of us had the fish special w/risotto - yum. One had the hanger steak (always a winner), one the Asian bowl (said it was great). The Itty never fails to deliver great food! Only negative is the noise level; it was extremely difficult to carry on a conversation.

Fantastic made-from-scratch food. Great atmosphere for adults. Not loud but not fancy either. Looks like a local bar from outside. I only knew about the great chef-created menu from the Yelp reviews. And they were right.
(5)Liza R.
I love this place. I was skeptical when we first moved nearby because it says on the outside that it is a "dive bar" but the food in here is absolutely amazing. I'd highly recommend the Hanger Steak, the Buffalo Chicken Dip, the Nachos, the Fish Tacos, and their Summer Salad. The food is all prepared beautifully and full of flavor, so it feels like an upscale restaurant and not a dive bar! Also their patio in the summer has cute lights hanging from the ceiling so it has a fun atmosphere. There are apparently live bands on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays but I have yet to visit on one of those nights. I'll post a tip about it if I do!

Don't judge by the outside appearance, as we nearly did. I took my mom to eat here, and the food was fantastic. The meat was perfectly cooked, the veggies was the right amount of crunchiness with salt and pepper. We couldn't have asked for a better meal.
(5)Jan L.
Unpretentious looking place but awesome food! Well priced for the serving sizes which are generous and very share-able!
(5)Jess S.
My husband has played live here in his band so I have been here 3 times because of that :) The food is high quality and quite good, for a bar. (it needs some TLC-new bathrooms and decor :) It has become "the place" to hang out AND eat in Holland...it's typically packed and people are always having a good time dancing, eating and hanging out! The staff is fun and friendly. They could add more vegetarian/vegan options to the menu! I highly recommend checking it out. FYI- The main parking lot can get really full on a busy night. There's overflow parking across the street...

Great food Diner Review * Jun 25, 2013 A great surprise! Delicious and unique menu. I ordered the calamari steak sandwich with onion rings. Perfectly cooked and tender; rings exceptional. Table of 8 all had great food; hamburg, hanger steak kabob, fish tacos, macaroni & cheese, filet, chicken pasta Highly recommended.. Parking in the rear. Really fun place with something for everyone on a pretty surprising menu. The bartenders are always very friendly & the pizza is my favorite in town.
(5)Big E.
Itty Bitty is a BIG find. The quality of the food reminds me of the fine dining eateries in Silicone Valley. You can't go wrong with the Chef's Special, no matter what it is. The steak was outstanding, perfectly cooked and seasoned. I'll be making this a regular when visiting Holland.
(5)Mark F.
The food in this place is perhaps the most under-priced, under-rated in town. While eating any of their specials you could close your eyes and imagine that you were in a Michelin classified restaurant in France. Shame that the wine list is rather limited and does not do the food justice. Otherwise you'll find prize-winning chili here and probably the best pizzas ever.
(4)Gail B.
Very impressed with the Itty Bitty. It has a very interesting menu - far from the usual fare found at most restaurants in this price category -for example, bone marrow appetizer (which I did not try). I had the veggie pizza which was loaded with goodies like fresh mushrooms, artichokes, fresh tomatoes, spinach, red onion all on a very thin, crispy crust, similar to the now closed Via Maria from where the chef came. Their BLT is bacon, fried green tomatoes and arugula served on a folded pita. Their patio seating is a huge plus - even though it's a little noisy from traffic along Ottawa Beach. I would recommend expanding their beers on tap - only 4 I believe. For us non-microbrew people, a choice other than Bud Light would be appreciated. All in all, I highly recommend this place.

"Five Star Dive Bar" is a great description. The chef is indeed right up there with the best and I've lived in NYC and LA and travel a lot. The Lobster Mac is always a winner. Mussels, all kinds of interesting salads. By far my favorite place in Holland when there to visit my Mom or college friends.
(5)Gary W.
Being from Chicago and now West Olive we were intrigued by the comments but also got a recommendation from our builders sub contractor who is doing some painting for us. We tried the bone marrow appetizer and it's very rich so good for sharing. I had the pork shank with mango and sweet potato cake and it was awesome. My wife had the meat loaf with roasted garlic, she was very pleased. Atmosphere is casual but the food quality is near fine dining level without the high price. Check this place out instead of downtown Holland and you won't be disappointed!

I think the Itty bitty bar is always a fun time. I usually stop in early evening with friends for dinner and drinks. They recently just changed there menu and everything I have tried is awesome. They are giving it the name Five star dive bar and I think that fits the description perfectly. The other night I had the special which was Ahi tuna with grilled summer squash, paired with a risotto and goat cheese cake that was slightly fried on the outside. This meal was amazing! A few of my other favorite things on the new menu are the chicken and waffles with a blueberry bourbon maple syrup (not healthy I know, but amazingly good), Lobster mac and cheese, along with a very nice goat cheese and apple salad. You should all check it out whether it be for just a cocktail or dinner and drinks! p.s. They have done some revamping on the inside since the no smoking ban...looks a lot better!!
(5)Melissa H.
Cute atmosphere with an outdoor bar and amazing food. A real surprise! The crab sandwich and the burger were the best restaurant food I've had in months. The fried green tomatoes and the shrimp queso were also well executed. Well worth a visit...especially since they're open on Sunday! The one downside was the warm white wine, but I can't complain since they discounted our bill just to make up for the slightly slow service. I would definitely take friends here!

Thanks to Yelp reviews my wife and I finally tried this place out. It's literally 2 minutes from my house and I've driven by 100's of times, but always thought it was a dive bar. Having lived in Atlanta, NYC, and Chicago, we've become foodies to a great extent. Moving to Holland 2 years ago was a shocker as the restaurants here are average at best. When we first entered the Itty Bitty Bar we were both concerned as it was still early and there was just a bar full of men drinking beer and an empty dining area. There was no hostess either. After standing in front for a few minutes a very eager bartender lady came over and told us to seat ourselves wherever we wanted. Once she brought the menus and started describing the specials we both started to smile. The options on the menu and the wine options were excellent. They just didn't fit the setting. The menu selections were more suited to an upscale restaurant in a big city. The place was also very noticeably kept clean. My wife ordered the Mahi Mahi special and I ordered the Pork Loin special. The starter salads were very good, clean and robust lettuce and homemade dressings. The meals came out and we were blown away at the presentation. The meals could have easily been served at a big city upscale restaurant. My wife's dish was amazing. The fish was apparently shipped in fresh, served on a bed of spaghetti squash with sauteed brussel sprouts and gourmet level garnish and presentation. The tastes were just as good. The service was also excellent. After about 10-15 minutes the place started to fill up with a professional looking crowd. We watched dishes come out and they all looked excellent. We are absolutely looking forward to coming back here frequently. This place is an anomaly in Holland, MI. Even the supposed "best" restaurant on 8th Street downtown (Butch's) doesn't even come close to touching the food quality at Itty Bitty Bar. Bravo to this place and thank goodness it's so close to us. We will continue to come back and sample what looks to be the best food we've had in the Holland area.

Great experience! The food was amazing and the waiters were very attentive! Food in the Holland area can get to be pretty pricey and I thought that the prices here were very good considering how much good was served. We had a party of three and had two pops, two glasses of wine, two appetizers, three dinners, and a dessert and the bill was around $65. Not bad at all! I would recommend this place to locals and tourists alike.

Interesting menu, reasonably priced. We ordered the fish tacos as the server told us people came to the restaurant specifically for them. Do not order them; they tasted like extremely over breaded and over done fish sticks. The fish and chips that were also ordered at our table were nothing special. The slaw, however, was delicious.

We spend summers in Holland, and live in the Chicago area. Itty Biity Bar is our home away from home! We look forward to each day when they post the evening specials----one fish dish and one butchers choice. It seems each year the dishes get better and better! I personally love how the chef's incorporate the best and freshest ingredients into whatever fish or meat dish they are serving. We love the seasonal menus, too---can't wait to try the new winter menu. We also like the new beer menus that change regularly. The bands are pretty wonderful, too.

Came out here on Wednesday aka The Biggest Bar Night of the year. Nate Holley was playing and we specifically made the trek across the state to see him. Long story...I'll spare you the details. We showed up early and grabbed a couple spots at the bar as standing for the entire night didn't sound enjoyable. The place was moderately busy for the post-dinner timeslot and proceeded to fill up as the night went on. It seemed like they had everything under control as far as crowd management goes. The menu had some unique items on it and after reading the Yelp reviews, I was excited to try some food. We split the buffalo chicken dip and the BLT Mac. We didn't over analyze the menu, so when the BLT Mac came out, it wasn't what we expected. It was essentially two bricks of (delicious) fried mac and cheese wrapped in a soft pita with lettuce, tomato, ranch - I think, and bacon. It was amazing. The buffalo chicken dip was also very very good. There was a solid amount of chicken in there as well. Overall, very impressed with the food. The atmosphere was good and the crowd was friendly (with the exception of a few of your typical overimbibers). Nate Holley did a great job and for being a one-man-show, he's definitely worth checking out some time. I hope to be able to venture out here again some time.

We dined here tonight to celebrate my mom's birthday. We're on the north side of Holland, so the location is convenient. Plus I'd heard others recommend it. And they were busy, so obviously people like it. What they like, I'm not sure. We waited a full hour to get a simple appetizer of cheese dip with blue corn chips and pretzel bread. Something that basic should be out in 10 minutes on any night. With three kids in our party, this wait was particularly challenging. Our entrees look another half hour to arrive. I wish they were worth the 90-minute wait, but they were sadly underwhelming. My brother and I got the meatloaf, which was dry and nearly flavorless. My wife got the manicotti, which in fact was fried cheese sticks. Even my mom was disappointed in her salad with shrimp. I asked to see the manager, who arrived 15 minutes after my request. He turned out to be as disappointing as the rest of this place. Even if you're on the north side, keep driving.

One of Greatest hamburgers in western Michigan . Good fish and chips . Great Greek salad . Like the outside seating .

I was so amazed at this little bar..so friendly and laid back but the Kobe beef was nothing short of a 5 star restaurant.. I was thrilled to find this little gem..
(5)Teresa A.
We had lunch at the itty bitty bar on Saturday. The bruschetta was amazing! My husband had the hamburger special and I had the crab cake po boy. Wow on all of it. Jehan our bartender was super sweet, quick with drink orders and great with food recommendations. We will be back!
(5)Julie S.
Went there last night with friends and sat in outside bar, bartender greeted us, we asked him I being we have food sensitivities if they can make accommodations, he replied yes. Then a women came to table and began taking order, one of our friends asked for olive oil with her salad and waitress said we don't have olive oil in a rude tone, then as she was taking out order she went to take from the opposite side of the table being now we had to speak over our friends to give orders, my husband wanted a substitution and she shook her head said we don't do any substitutions here, order like it is. Wow, I was so disappointed being I know itty bitty has good food, this server was terrible and very rude. We should have asked for manager, we will try again, but there will be a complaint toward server.

We have gone here a couple times.. the pork nachos amazing.. the duck meatballs just as good.. the service was fast and friendly.. it also has a great atmosphere..
(5)Christian R.
This is on my short list for entertaining options when going out with friends. If you like to tie one on with your fine dining, or get fine dining while your lower expectation friends just eat apps then this is the place. The options are wide open. The atmosphere is fun. The food is excellent. It's a neighborhood dive bar that happens to have great food. The general Tsao's Chicken is amazing and inventive. It's the best of both worlds between Asian and Rotisserie, just crispy yummy deliciousness.
(5)Ann P.
First time here. We split the crab dip (greasy chips tasting like they were cooked in old oil). I had the fried chicken which was over cooked. My friend had the pulled pork sliders which were chunks of pork not shredded. We both had upset stomachs and thought the meal was poor. We were there on a Saturday night around 8. Seem to cater to local clientele in lower 30s and not a good place for people from out of town. Thanks for the feedback - we come to Holland bi annually for a girls weekend and appreciate the offer to return but not willing to take the chance again, our symptoms were identical and we shared the food. Can't be a coincidence. Thanks for responding, at the least that is Impressive.

Three stars on the food. The chips and cheeze were to die for! excellent ! the service expectation was more than we recieved. they are extremely slow and unorganized. The women behind the bar are not happy to say the least hey never smile or look like the enjoy waiting on anyone. The waitresses was running all over it took 40 min to get the food They need uniforms they look so unprofessional expecially bar staff. all and all the experience was medioker. Cute place needs better managment.
(3)Tatiana M.
If I could give this place 10 starts, I'd do it!! Was great! Service: awesome Price: Couldn't believe it Food: outstanding Beer: good Waiting time: none. We were here on a Monday afternoon. Maybe that makes a difference but maybe not. Great place.
(5)Jamie O.
Food was great. Service was excruciatingly slow and inattentive. Read the previous reviews and hopped in for a sandwich and beer. We went in at 7pm on a Sunday. We sat on the covered patio which has no air flow and it's a hot day but that was our choice. Waiter was helpful and friendly while we ordered. Unfortunately, we waited an hour and 7 minutes for a sandwich and a burger. Once we got our food delivered by someone other than our waiter, mine was wrong. No one was remotely close to us to ask for help. My burger was cold by the time I could eat it. Then our bill was screwed up too. We were charged for a pitcher on one of the pints. If we would have been notified that they were behind, or apologized to for the excessive wait, it would have been acceptable. If someone would have checked on us once our food was delivered, that would have been better too. If the inside was air conditioned or the outside had some sort of air flow, I might have not been as upset by the wait. With all of the options available, I can't imagine returning.

Had a blast dancing to a great band. They were called Bar Code, look at some pics here: facebook.com/barcodeband The Salad was to die for. Jumbo coconut shrimp, feta cheese, wasabi and fresh spinach. Friendly staff and great drinks, highly recommend.
