About TGI Friday
TGI Friday is a casual dining American restaurant chain founded in 1965. The term “TGI” is an acronym for Thank God It's and together the name of the restaurant is often announced as Thank God It's Friday. Over the years of its existence, the TV commercials and other advertisement streams have also twisted the phrase a bit and used it as Thank Goodness It's Friday. The restaurant serves alcoholic beverages primarily. However, they are also known for their low-carbohydrate and low-fat menu items to promote a healthy lifestyle. A friend once described the pizza here as "oil on a cracker." Sort of, but it tastes better. The crust always has a flavorful dusting of burntness, and the old-school pizza-parlor ambience is hard to beat, paper plates and all. I live in New York now, and honestly crave this weird pie regularly. It isn't for everyone, but a must-try Midwest-style pizza, if passing through the area.

without a doubt, one of the worst pies I have ever eaten. My wife had eaten here many years ago when she lived near here and we were driving through Holland so we decided to stop. The pizza looks like it is made on a flour tortilla and the cheese blend is way too sharp. It is unlike any true Italian pizza.

I grew up in Holland and am USUALLY a huge fan of this pizza place. It's always jam packed on the weekend with people because the pizza is very good, however I haven't been there in a year and was quite disappointed with the lighting in the second room (which I've never been in). They need to update the lighting, it's harsh on the eyes. Our pizza took 40 minutes to arrive and there were tables seating AFTER us that got their pizza BEFORE us. When I mentioned this to the waitress she got quite snotty with me. They do not provide the place mats anymore which I know it sounds weird but they made the table look better and when you have kids it helps them stay occupied drawing, etc, while you wait 40 minutes. The pizza is still awesome as ever though! If I go back I will just sit in the front of the joint and pray I don't get that waitress again. One correction about the drinks Pop is only 75 cents. It is not $2.00. and no the refills are not free, but they are only the 75 cents. I would have rated this a 5 had we been treated better by the waitress. Otherwise enjoy!

Visiting Saugatuck for a weekend stay with our hotel in Holland. Wanted some late night pizza and ordered the extra pepperoni based off of previous reviews. Needless to say, we should of ordered two pizzas. Absolutely delicious. Pepperoni is cooked nice and crispy but not too crispy. Their "bird seed" gives a great flavor and texture mix up with the pizza and the thin crust isn't so crisp it breaks apart instantly. It's like the perfect pizza. Cheese, delicious. We are thinking about taking the two hour 3 hour drive up just for the pizza one day. For real.

I ordered an Old Fashioned and I got a lowball glass filled to the brim and mixed the traditional way with proper Angostura bitters. $5. Damn perfect. Oh, the pizza is amazing as well, but literally every review says that, so just eat here already.

This place in Holland is a hole in the wall which they haven't updated since I don't know when. They serve their pizza on paper plates and you get extra napkins because the pizza certainly is greasy. It's a thin crust pizza which is good if you like thin crust, but they only offer 5 ingredients for your pizza. They don't offer anything else in the entire restaurant except drinks, no salads, nothing so be prepared if you go there. I asked if they had Parmesan cheese to sprinkle on the pizza and was told its already on there so no Parmesan. I don't know what all the fuss is about this place because to me it's a barebones pizza joint that isn't willing to go the extra step make their customers happy

The homemade sausage they put on the pizza kills it!!! Also, it's family owned and operated, with friendlier service than many joints! If I haven't been there in awhile, I can still sit at the bar and they'd often still remember me! It's sometimes busy but yet there's only 5 toppings to choose from so you can order fairly quick! I also like the basic order of this place. Pizza with 5 toppings, drinks snacks, and it is all very reasonably priced!

The most disgusting crap I've ever been served. My husband, who can eat almost anything, said he needed a Brillo pad to clean his palate after one bite. If that isn't enough to turn your stomach, you can head to the bathroom where there isn't a way to dry your hands except for an old rolling cloth towel dryer that hasn't be washed since they opened in 1950. Surly service and greasy table cloths complete the picture. Eat at your own risk. You've been warned.

I'm a south side Chicago thin-crust pizza snob, and I have to say this was some awesome pizza! It's unbelievably thin, so order a few of them. My wife and I got one to share, and we both could have used more. Don't worry too much about the huge crowd waiting for a table. Because of the limited menu they just crank out pizzas and the tables turn over quickly. Highly recommended!

I will begin by saying, I'm from Chicago, and I know pizza. The crust on this pizza is thin and delicious. My recommendation is to dine in, it's better that way. Seriously, thin crust pizza doesn't stay crispy when you travel. If you don't care for oregano, make sure you let them know when you order. That is all.

I love this place; it brings back memories of family gatherings back as long as I can remember. As a kid in the early '70s, Grandma's birthday was always spent at the Grand Haven location. Since I moved to Florida over 20 years ago, Fricanos Too is always my first meal after landing at GRR. Friday night about 7, we waited about 25 minutes for a table for 6. Quick and pleasant service. Happy to make a pie with different halves. I always have pepperoni, sausage, mushroom with light anchovies. I could eat a whole one but I resist so I have leftovers for breakfast. Most important thing to know about this pizza: if you suffer from "Fricanos Regret", avoid the green peppers. Those little suckers will have you running for the Zantac. Also, they will not, under any circumstances, bring Parmesan. It's already baked into the pie. Don't ask. Prices have crept up recently $9 to $11 depending on toppings. They are offering better beers and wines now. Other than that, this place hasn't changed since it opened. Same brown Formica bar and tables, same weird towel roll in the bathroom. Same No Credit Cards policy. But when I can feed my whole family a table full of memories for $50, it's worth the cash.

I think you must have to be born in Holland to understand this place. It's run down and dark. You have around five choices of toppings to put on a greasy cheese pizza. I suggest looking elsewhere for dinner.

This review is solely on the service of Fricano's Too, NOT the pizza. I love Fricano's pizza, been eating it my whole life and I make sure to visit every time I'm back in West Michigan. We visited on a Wednesday evening in early July, 2014. There were 3 adults and 4 kids (aged 1-8) in our party. We were promptly seated, so I thought that was a good sign. That's where things went downhill. I get the institutional value of this place, as even on a Wednesday evening, it was filled up. We ordered our pizzas and our drinks. The drinks took a minimum of 15 minutes to come to our table after ordering. I saw the waitress spend a lot of time mingling with people (she presumably was acquainted with) at another table. We ordered 4 pizzas. They took about 1 hour and 10 minutes to get to our table. Having worked at a Domino's in my younger days, I know a pizza takes 7.5 minutes to bake. OK, we ordered ours well done, let's add 10 minutes for that fact. Add another 15 minutes to get in queue due to the busyness factor. That's still less than 45 minutes! Why, oh, why would the pizza take over an hour to arrive at our table?!! To further add to my frustration, while waiting, I'd at least like the beer to keep flowing! She never brought another beer until very close to the time our pizza got to our table. Next complaint: It's 2014 and they still won't take my Debit Card (or credit card). They have an ATM on site, but I'm a cheap Dutch man and refuse to pay the service charge. They won't take my check because I'm from out of state. (even though I used to be local) I really can't believe more people don't have this complaint. This has been the status quo every time we visited in the last 10 years. The great pizza usually makes up for the bad service, but this last visit really just irked me! Is it just me getting poor service?

I love this place! The thinnest, thin crust pizza around! It's a little hole in the wall in downtown holland, that keeps it's menu simple and sweet. The staff has always been very kind. Just keep in mind everyone should order their own personal pizza.. I could eat the whole thing but it's fun to take a little home to eat for breakfast;)

This place is so wonderfully cooky, I consider it a staple anytime we are in the area. I won't lie. The first time we walked in we were a little bit like 'what the eff?!' Paper plates. Plastic silverware. Five toppings for the single item on the menu. Then we tried the one item on the menu and sang a different tune. What a surprise! The crust is thin, cheese is greasy and the toppings.. Well.. They are greasy too. You have a choice of green pepper, mushroom, anchovies, greasy pepperoni and sausage. It turns out that greasy, canned mushrooms go great with green peppers on this wickedly awesome pizza. I am highly allrgic to anything canned, mushrooms usually sending me in near-anaphylactic shock, but Fricanos makes it work. Work that pizza, Fricanos! Werk it.. and don't ever go out of business!

Very rude over the phone. We were planning to make a large order for a party and requested the pizza be cut into squares. The "gentleman" who answered put the phone down and I overheard him say "who the f*** cuts their pizza in squares?!" He then returned to say "we like to cut our pizza in triangles here." They serve one size pizza with a choice of five toppings. That is it. Nothing else. So if you are looking for fancy or a variety, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for thin crust, good old fashioned greasy pizza, then you are home. When Julie offers you extra napkins, take them. The pizza was amazing. Julie the bartender was amazing. Linda (from Merel Norman across the street) and her husband were awesome locals that made me feel right at home as well. Fricano's is a must do in Holland. But bring cash, not because the prices are crazy, but because they do not accept credit cards.

But I had to chime in nonetheless to say - if you like thin, greasy, flavorful pizza that is absolutely like no pizza you have ever had before - then this is the place to go! The no frills atmosphere, e.g., only five toppings, one size pizza, no appetizers, cans of beer, etc., add to the esoteric charm of this West Michigan mainstay.

Went for dinner here tonight. Walked in and no one was available to tell is where to go or to be seated. After about 3 minutes poking around to find someone, we were seated. The decor and seating were very tacky and 90's looking... but you have to come to expect that from a place in Holland. Had the EBA pizza: everything but anchovies. They serve only 12" pizza pies. Service is extremely slow, but the waiters are nice. The root beer on tap is not the best, but still good. The pizza is what everyone says it is: delicious, greasy, and messy (which is what I want in a good pizza). The thin crust is both good and bad. I loved the crispness toward the outer edge of the pizza slices, but it tends to get sloppy and allows all beautifully seasoned toppings slide off of. Overall, the pizza was excellently seasoned and delicious, but the service was so mediocre that I would not recommend dining in, but order to take out. I was also pretty disappointed they only take cash or check. There is an ATM in the building, but I would rather not have to pay an ATM fee to withdraw money when I can just give you my debit or credit card instead.

This was our first time here and we didn't know that for our family of seven....five kids under 12 would need 4 pizzas...noticed most people ordered 1 pizza per person...remember to bring your cash! They don't take credit card which is a huge disadvantage, but they do have an ATM machine. Definitely will be going back!

Do one thing and do it well. These folks have one size thin crust pizza down pat. It's great when you are ready to eat something very unhealthy, but extremely delicious and vintage small town. From NY, so thin crust rules. Metro NY and northern NJ have a few places just like this that we loved - we were delighted to find it and get a couple pies every few weeks. Highly recommend.

Went here my freshman year at college and haven't been back since. It's not that the pizza is really bad, it's just not memorable enough to merit another visit. The lack of topping choices does make it easier to choose what kind of pizza you want but then there aren't many options. So, yeah. There are other places with better pizza, and personally I'd rather get a cheaper pie from Domino's.

Best pizza in Grand Rapids bar none. Very simple menu, pizza and five topping to choose from. Sounds like not much variety and it isn't. You don't need variety trust me you need their pizza!

Well I'll be damned! Would NEVER expect to find anything worth eating in holland! Fricanos has got it right. It's one ugly pizza, but it tastes like a pizza should. I can't believe this place exists, in west Michigan..?? Over priced (like everything in west Michigan) but, I dare say it's worth it. The dining area is something to be desired, but we'll let it slide.

I know that this is a GR institution and maybe you have to grow up on it but I thought it was just ok. They dont have a menu as they only serve one thing: Pizza with a choice of 5 different toppings.

If you want something other than pizza, don't go to Fricano's. However, if you're looking for tasty cheap greasy good pies make sure you hit this place up once or twice. It's dark in there but you're okay with it because you don't want anyone to see you and your friends scarfing down several pizzas each. i've been a few times and I'm sure I'll be there a few more times while I'm home from school.

Fricano's serves the best pizza in West Michigan, hands down. I grew up on Fricano's pizza, and in some way my sub-conscious has compared every pizza I've eaten since, and none have measured up. That might be because of the nostalgia factor, but Fricano's is just simply delicious no-frills pizza. It's hard to say what makes Fricano's pizza so great. Every element just works perfectly together - the crispy crust, the simple tomato sauce, the cheese and toppings. That's it....don't come to Fricano's expecting to eat anything other than pizza, and even then don't expect some fancy or gimmicky specialty pizzas. Your topping choices are limited to five: pepperoni, mushroom, anchovies, green pepper and Italian sausage. I recommend the EBA: everything but the anchovies. Also, don't expect anything remotely healthy. Your toppings would be swimming in a pile of grease - as they should be. Now after writing this review my mouth is salivating and I'm planning my next trip to my home town, simply to get some of this pizza. Nothing compares.

Fricano's pizza and all of its cheap, greasy, cheesy goodness is a major guilty pleasure. Not much for atmosphere, but worth a visit. Make sure to bring cash, as they don't take credit card.

Incredibly flat pizza, almost like it's on a tortilla. Just the right amount of cheese and sauce and very flavorful! The pizzas come in one size, which is perfect for one hungry person. The place has a comfortable neighborhood bar feel and the service is pretty good. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area and a fan of thin crust. I don't think they take credit cards, but I believe they have an ATM there.

This is some unique pizza located in Holland ( original is in Grand Haven)! They only offer 5 toppings on their thin crust pizza's. The sauce and the cheese is one of a kind. The pizza is quite greasy, but still manages not to disappoint, the restaurant atmosphere is nothing special, the waitstaff is nice, but due to this place being packed almost every night, it can take a while to get your seat and a while to get your food. We usually order ahead and take it home! Bring cash , they don't take credit or debit cards.
