We're told it'd be 15 minutes to get a seat....30 minutes later, blood pressure is rising. If I don't get food soon, this guy is going to collapse. Well folks, it was worth the wait (and 'weight', for that matter) for the deliciousness of this grub. B.A.T. sandwich...yes please. Bacon, egg, arugula, tomatoes, cheese. Yeah, it was good. Wife got, what appeared to be their version of a Grand Slam, you know, the 2 eggs, 2 bacon, toast, etc. She said it was fantastic. The final stop at their bakery before leaving (donuts, cookies, breads) was to get diabetic delights for the next few days.

Great hometown diner. Quick, polite service. Good food. Good atmosphere. When we walked in they tossed us a free loaf of bread. I assume this isn't normal but it was a nice first time experience! We ordered 2 of the 2 eggs, hashbrowns, toast, and bacon meal. It was huge. We could have easily split one dish. We also got a cinnamon roll. It was delicious. We will be visiting anytime we are in Holland. Highly recommend.

We have a problem with forgetting this little place is around because of the location, but by the lack of parking spaces available when they are open we are in the minority. The few times we have had breakfast here we have been pleased! Favorites include the New Amsterdam omelet, the Blue Raspberry Bliss Cakes and the Twee Gezusters (although I like to ask for hollandaise on mine)! And I think there is a law that says you must order the Pigs-in-a-Blanket when you eat here, they are delicious and flaky! A customer at the table next to us ordered the Sugar Bread, I think I want to try that next time! If you are not in the mood for a sit down breakfast, you can pick up a pastry from the bakery, but if you want a donut get there early as they sell out fast!
(5)Ted R.
Definitely a five star restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Everything was very fresh and so good. So many choices on the menu hard to make up your mind what to order. The granola was the best my wife has ever had.
(5)Daniel D.
Absolutely fantastic donuts! I sampled the carrot cake, blackberry cobbler, s'mores, maple bacon, apple fritter, and lemon zest pistachio and they were all perfect. Just a great mix between chewy center and crispy outer shell. I've been to 8 of the top 10 MLive Best Donut places and DeBoer's was robbed! They should be in the top 3 at the least!
(5)Harold G.
It's seems the staff here moves like an well oiled machine. So the crowd hasn't effect the food or the service. I seat at this breakfast bar and watch it all unfold. This morning I'm so enjoying this Banana Rhumba with some scramble eggs and sausage patties. I tell you this might be the best French toast I have had. I'm drinking iced coffee with ice cubes made of coffee!! How cool is that :)
(5)Timothy D.
Delightful atmosphere and delicious food. They're unique with all their homemade breads and the food is full of comfort! I recommend this for families or couples. Keep up the good work, DeBoer!

There is always a wait here and it is definitely worth it. Best breakfast place around! One side of the restaurant is their bakery with fresh breads and Dutch treats. We like the chorizo pig in a blankets and their various fresh donuts. There are a ton of breakfast dishes to pick from including Crab Benedict and Hippy Hash. All served with freshly baked bread. Only wish they made third own jelly to go with. All of our out of town guests rave about their pancakes. You can add on from a list including fresh fruits and candied walnuts. Our most recent visit was during Tulip Time so we sampled some traditional Dutch offerings include croquettes, Frikandel soup and Hutsput. See pictures for description. Not located downtown and always a wait, but definitely worth it. Rumor has it they will have a second location opening soon.
(5)Beth H.
DeBoer's is easy to get to, super efficient and has outstanding food. They roast their own coffee beans, and if that smell doesn't get you through the door, the food will. They are located about a mile outside of downtown and hard to miss. Plenty of parking. The storefront is a small bakery offering their specialties. Pay attention and be patient, and an employee will tend to you quickly. If you are looking at your phone or wondering around, they think you are just waiting for a table. Be prepared to wait. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. They do not take reservations but they are so efficient that they are always turning over tables. Staff is fun, friendly and eager to serve you. I ordered an iced coffee and they actually freeze coffee into ice cubes so your iced coffee isn't watered down. I had the crab cake Benedict - it could not have been better. Loved it. Hubs had some crepes or cakes with house made granola, mascarpone and berries. We left stuffed, with our coffee refills in to-go cups and a couple choice items from the bakery case. This was our second visit but will be a must stop every time we are in town.

My friend is a regular here. After arriving, the son of the owner came to our table to welcome us. Very nice man! We ordered breakfast and it was every bit what I had expected. Food was amazing, service was great, you got that nice dutch appeal and being in Holland was perfect. After breakfast we purchased some pastries and breads. Once we got home we tore into both. So delicious! I will be ordering a few of those items online. I highly reccommed going if you are in the Saug area.
(5)Suzanne F.
My sons and I eat here often in the winter months. Summer is always packed with a waiting line because this is truly an amazing place to eat. The food is spectacular, the specialty coffees and drinks rival any coffee house, the kids love to write on the table covers and the staff is always friendly. I have never had a bad experience here even when we did have to wait to get in, it is always worth it. The bakery has the best breads and pigs in a blanket. Prices are a little high but not bad and you really do get what you pay for. My only complaint is they aren't open 24 hours.
(5)Lynn O.
The pastries here are to die for! This review is really about said pastries! Their cinnamon rolls and sticky buns are simply the bomb! They're the size of Vermont and much less crusty! The pecan rolls are loaded with large juicy fresh pecans and the syrup is not sickeningly sweet - it's just right!
(5)Brooke K.
I have this little saying...if your pancakes aren't Dutch they aren't much. This motto again sings true after indulging into a Klompen Cake. I ordered two of these buttery blueberry sinful batter cakes sprinkled with powdered sugar. One cake would have been plenty as they are literally 7" in diameter and a half inch thick. After one blissful bite I knew I had to eat the whole platter including my side of crispy bacon. If the server wouldn't have taken my empty plate I would have licked it clean. Next time I visit I will come wearing elastic in my waist band. Klompen Cakes 1 / Me 0. My husband ordered the traditional Eggs Benedict which was also excellent. The English muffins were home made and the hollandaise was rich but not too heavy. The Dutch potatoes that came with the dish were just meh, but everything else was solid including their own fresh roasted (in house) coffee. This was a great little discovery stopping through town. Next time we are in Michigan we will have to revisit and spend some time in their bakery and gift shop. If I wasn't so full from the Klompen Cakes I would have purchased several muffins and Dutch pastries to eat on our journey home. They looked delicious!
(4)Catherine C.
Coffee was deliteful, smooth and bakery items oh my the aroma wafted out the door as you entered the building. Everything from bagels and loc's to delightful pasty creations. The omelette a were filled to capacity. The eggs were cooked to order. Servings were large enough to satisfy the hungriest of men.
(5)Ben W.
Consistent 45 minute wait for breakfast on a Saturday and I understand why. The food is very good and they do a great job of taking care of their customers. They gave us ginger cookies when we first entered and a manager gave our kids free cookies at the end before we left. We will be back the next time we are in town!
(5)David R.
A solid chice in Holland. We had about a 40 minute wait which I think on a weekend is about typical. I had the Hippy Hash which was very good with a little bite...but I would try something else if we went back. Great service, choice and price. Im kind of a big fan of great breakfast...my dish was very good but not great. But still would reccommend.
(4)Jazmin S.
Words cannot express how much our family loved this place!! We had to eat breakfast there 2 days in a row in order to try the different options. The coffee is awesome. They bake all their bread. The service is outstanding. There's a bit of a wait but it was so worth it. The breakfast sandwich is really good.
(5)Megan D.
Loved our breakfasts! Very flavorful and well worth the prices. Our waitress was busy but completely attentive. The host/greeter had a great sense of humor and kept the crowd happy while we waited - we got lucky and didn't have to wait long though the restaurant was packed. The food was simply amazing and we'll be stopping back any time we're near Holland.
(5)LeAnn S.
Soooo good! Hippy Hash was so freaking good! The chipotle hollandaise sauce was just afreakingmazing!
(5)Stephanie O.
The wait is always so long but it's worth the wait. My boyfriend always gets the mash potatoes and gravy on the side. He is always going almost every week. I think that the service is good and they are very quick. I would recommend for anyone to go.
(4)Susan C.
The bakery is outstanding. Cookies are the best in town and the pig N the blankets extraordinary. Eating in the restaurant is delicious. Love the breakfasts, Especially.
(5)Sarah B.
Hands down best breakfast in holland. Go once and you will never go to iHop again. The menu has something for everybody. Thankfully they're open Sunday's (it was packed) and serve breakfast pretty late, the coffee bar is adorable and lots of history too.
(5)William S.
This is truly a gem. Wonderful food combined with stellar service. We were vacationing and simply selected this place out of many. We were pleased and surprised. On top of a wonderful breakfast I had a "long-john donut"....it was one of the best donuts I've ever tasted. We also took some bread home and it was amazing. This is a place you don't want to miss if you're traveling through the Holland area. I heartily recommend you give it a try !!!
(5)Glenn C.
Decent restaurant and bakery. I had the hippy hash with eggs and chorizo. It was good but not worthy of 5 stars. I probably would rate this place 3.5. My coworker got the reuben. It looked Ok. Service was OK. They had a lot of interesting breakfast and lunch items. I expected differeretly after reading the reviews.
(4)Bethany M.
I always visit this place when I go to Holland! They have amazing breakfast food, but no bakery on Sunday's we found out the hard way :(
(5)Dale K.
Always a GREAT place for breakfast. Also delicious baked goods to take home. Highly recommended!
(5)Doug N.
We went here for breakfast during our anniversary get away. My omelette was great and my wife's Banana Rumba French toast was incredible. The waitress was very pleasant and helpful. We will not go back however because of the noise. It is a family dining restaurant and the noise is enhanced by that factor. My wife and I could not have a conversation because of the noise. Tables around us were working to talk over each other. Great food. Not a place to go to relax and have a meal and conversation.
(2)Kristen D.
It took me a little while to find my "groove" here, the first few times I was actually pretty unimpressed. Tried something new the next time I went and I'm now hooked. Like seriously hooked. My order is the BAT breakfast sandwhich. Bacon, arugula, tomato and an egg over easy. SO good. I can't even attempt breakfast sandwhiches at other places because I know they won't hold a candle to this one. Servers always friendly. Two downfalls, no flavored coffee on Sundays. Why?! How hard is it? And the wait times stink on weekends, expect to wait at least 30-45 mins. But I know that's not really their fault, they just have good food.
(5)Cheryl K.
On 7/24/15 I went to DeBoer's for my first time. We wandered around the bakery area while waiting for our table (about a 15 min wait). I bought sugar bread to take home and the smell of the coconut coffee was intoxicating. For breakfast, I had the bacon, tomato and avocado omelette. So delicious. Can't wait to go back again! Very courteous host and wait staff.
(5)Jeff J.
They have excellent food. They roast their own coffee which is a big plus. The service is outstanding. If in doubt on what to get. Go for the corned beef hash with eggs. Oh and the make their own bread.
(5)Briana R.
You know those little gems that you search for while on vacation? This is it!! Great food, great service and very clean. Our waitress was so friendly and made great recommendations. The cinnamon rolls are absolutely divine. Just the right amount of cinnamon and frosting to compliment the fluffy dough. We will definitely return!
(5)Mel D.
On a Monday morning, this was a happening and a busy place. While we had a few problems with the food when we got it, both the waitress and the hostess came to our table to visit and tell us how sorry they were and how this wasn't the normal practice. They did everything they could to make our experience the best. They brought us a muffin while we were waiting for a more fully cooked egg white omelette and a warmer pancake. They also took 50% off our bill. The customer service was impeccable. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the egg white omelette, the house made corned beef hash, and the pancake.
(5)Jess M.
Amazing!!!! I absolutely love their rembrandt's way, it is to die for! Always great service, always packed but worth the wait.
(5)Mustfish E.
Stopped in to pick up bread twice last month. Both times the counter servers were in a foul mood. The bread was very good, but we didn't order a side of negativity with it.
(3)Mark F.
Service! Selection!! All home made from the sauces, breads and treats even the beans are roasted here. One if those rare family restaurants that hasn't stopped innovating nor has it surrendered what made it great over 60 years ago. Jacob was managing a world class team.
(5)Ch B.
Excellent breakfast menu and service! The New Amsterdam omelet with bacon, tomatoes, avocado, and Vermont Cheddar cheese and the Dutch Brothers Deluxe with ham, green peppers, tomatoes, and gouda cheese -- fresh and very tasty. Enjoyed the Dutch potatoes and Muesli bread too. Highly recommend!
(5)Stephanie S.
Came here for breakfast on a busy Saturday. Be prepared to wait...and then wait some more. Luckily you won't have to wait hungry as there's a full bakery and coffee shop up front. Definitely worth the wait! We had a party of 7, and I was lucky enough to try several breakfast items - everything was delicious. The Bliss Cakes with berries on top was exceptionally good - fluffiest pancakes I've ever had!
(4)Nick M.
A great, and apparently quintessential place to eat breakfast in Holland. We went on Sunday morning, so there was a bit of a wait which is to be expected, but it wasn't bad. The service was good, though the waitress accidentally served two people of our party cold drinks that were supposed to be hot made with their new espresso machine the restaurant had been heavily advertising. My food was excellent, I ordered the traditional eggs Benedict. DeBoer's makes their own English muffins and the Eggs Benny were recommended on the menu and by other people on Yelp so it seemed like a good choice. They were served with a side of Dutch potatoes, which were decent, basically a cross between quartered potatoes and home fries. Others went for the Klompen cakes and enjoyed them as well as the "Hippie Hash" which also went over well. I will definitely stop in for breakfast again while staying on the west side of the state.
(4)Kevin W.
Get the cinnamon roll, period! That is assuming there are any left. I also had the pig in a blanket. Flaky pastry around a sausage. It came with two eggs. Coffee is roasted there. It was good also. Do expect to wait upon arrival even on weekday. My only complaint is i would have preferred the sausage in the pig in the blanket to be a little warmer. A must go to place in Holland!
(4)Palamino B.
Every time Buller and I visit Holland -- DeBoer's is a must! This Dutch gem makes the best food and baked goods around! You can tell that each dish gets the attention it needs and the results are just YUMMY! Every time I go I try something different and has never been disappointed, a couple of my favorites are the Three sisters, Hippy Hash, and breakfast tacos. Bueller gets the same thing every time we go, the eggs Benedict. He can never pass them up! DeBoer's eggs benedict has the best hollandaise sauce and they poach their eggs to perfection couple that with a few cups of coffee and you have a great start to your day!
(5)Mr B.
Food is good. Almost always crowded, expect a bit of a wait. They do keep things running pretty smooth, you sometimes get bumped in line by regulars and friends of owners.
(4)Lance W.
We have been to breakfast twice at this place and each time the food was wonderful and the service was great. They make their biscuits and pancakes from scratch at this restaurant and you can definitely tell. We are going back as often as we can.
(5)A G.
Awesome breakfast place. Unique selection. Had pancakes with carmalized Bananas as a topping. Friendly staff. Worth the wait
(5)Bui T.
Delicious breakfast. I would expect to have bigger serving size here. However, the food is yummy. Another downside is waiting for so long. I went on Sunday so probably the peak time when people got back from church. I waited for about 45 minutes to be seated.
(4)Bronx C.
I heard they had good sweet pastries, so i went with the family i tried the almond pastry filled with almond filling and topped with sliced almonds it was so delicious even went back the next day after noon but they were out :(
(5)Scott D.
Breakfast was the order of the moment for us. Corned beef hash was great, the corned beef was just great. The potatoes were very tasty. The service was just right. We also picked up fruit pastries for the inevitable munchies. We had raspberry and apple. The crust was light and flaky, the filling just right, not too much sugar.
(4)Jasón L.
The food here is amazing. Sometimes you have to wait, but it is worth it. Try the pig in a blanket. Service was amazing too.
(5)Ginger R.
Always great food. There weren't many baked goods left in bakery but we got apple cinnamon donuts to go and they were very good!
(4)Greg M.
Having the bakery with the cafe is quite nice.. great food - wonderful hollandaise sauce for eggs benedict - very good coffee. This place is really a gem.
(5)Jeni G.
I absolutely love coming here for breakfast. I always leave with baked goods and the brothers that own the place are always amazingly nice and generous.
(5)Amanda D.
By far THE ABSOLUTE BEST breakfast in Holland. Dishes are well thought out, made with quality ingredients, fabulous customer service. Love this place. Try the croissants, so wicked good.
(5)David A.
DeBoer's bakerrij is a wonderful well run business in Holland, MI. It is a bakery with an attached midsize two room cafe. It is located slightly off the beaten track from downtown Holland though it is well worth the trip for tourists and others interested in a reasonably priced breakfast at a dutch owned bakery. I went with family to eat at the cafe Saturday late morning at around 11:30 am. While the dining area was crowded I was seated promptly. After some deliberation I ordered the Oma's Way omelet with a pig in the blanket appetizer. The service was exceptional. The young lady that was our waitress was attentive and friendly. The food arrived after a short 15 minute wait. When the food arrived I was pleasantly surprised by both the presentation as well as the texture of my omelet. As a professional cook with 10 years experience myself, I know cooks are judged by the quality of their omelets. The omelet on my plate was shaped perfectly (a near perfect oval shape). It was cooked through not runny on the inside, and was not brown or overcooked on the outside. The omelet tasted delicious. It had halved artichokes, chopped asparagus, and chopped portabellas on the inside. The eggs were fluffy. The top of the omelet featured finely diced sun dried tomatoes and as an interesting touch the cheese was on the top rather than on the inside of the omelet. The cheese was a french cheese known as boursin cheese. Boursin has a texture like cream cheese though when heated it becomes runny. While not my favorite cheese it was a unique addition to the omelet. In short the omelet was delicious. Clearly the cooks and chef know what they are doing in the kitchen. My sole criticism of my experience at Deboer's was that my table was right next to another table. There was less than two and a half feet between the tables and I could hear the conversation of the table next to me as easy as the person sitting across from me. On our well out I ordered an elephant's ear donut to go. Needless to say, the donut, like my omelet, was absolutely delicious; this was a perfect end to what was a near perfect experience!
(5)Jerry S.
I just enjoyed the best breakfast tacos ever! Yum! This is one the best if not THE best breakfast restaurants in West Michigan or the state. The bakery is outstanding as well.
(5)Chrissy S.
Wow, this place is a a treasure! We were recently in Holland and stopped here twice to sample various pastries. On day two, they even threw in a specialty for us to try since we were indecisive. You really cannot go wrong with any of their baked goods. I tried various cookies and this morning I was there early enough for a ham and gouda croissant. Yummy! A little forewarning, though, the later you go, the less options you have. That could work in your favor as you have less choices to make, but if you come for something in particular you might miss out! The bakery is clean and busy. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Despite big crowds, they are efficient! There is cute decor inside and the place is constantly busy, but parking is not too hard to find. We bought pastries and coffee (great coffee at a decent rate) and walked to the park behind them. There are a few picnic tables and benches. When I'm in Holland again, I'll totally be back for more from Deboer!
(4)Danielle S.
We are visiting the area and after reading the Yelp reviews we decided to check out this restaurant for breakfast. It was great! The best corned beef and hash I've had and we had their pancake with raspberry and blueberry and marscapone. Can't remember the name but it was to die for! We're definitely going back before we leave the area. We had to wait a while to get in but not too bad. We did try to go back another time and it was soooo crowded. We had to leave since we had an appointment. But we'll plan for this next time. Worth the wait.
(5)Nick K.
First time at this rustic adorable cafe and bakery and boy am i impressed!! Being a huge breakfast fan im rarely impressed but Deboer's did not disappoint. Had the sugar bread french toast with fresh strawberries and whip cream. Fantastic!! The sweet crunchiness of the broken sugar cubes adds a nice texture. My girlfriend had corned beef and hash which she said was the best she ever had and she eats a lot of hash! :) OH YEAH the bacon....perfectly cooked slightly smokey and salty...one of the best bacon's you can find. The bakery has tons of fresh bread pastry cronuts and doughnuts. All look delicious and made with love. As far as the wait. Everyone complains about the wait. I think its unfair to judge someone based on the wait. Its a good thing when there are lines people!!! I dont know how many times i can say this but if you want fast food eat at McDonalds!! Serving quality food takes time and if your patient you will be rewarded or just wait and go after morning rush, they serve breakfast all day!!
(5)Carly T.
I have been here twice with my in-laws and have gotten both the Greek omelet and the Huevos Rancheros. Look at me, going Greek or Mexican at a Dutch Bakery. Weird. Anyway, both items were delicious. My in-laws typically get their pancakes, which look delightfully fluffy, but I have never tried them. Service here is always spot on, quick, and friendly. They keep the coffee flowing and are sure to offer you anything else you need.
(4)Emily S.
We went here for breakfast after church yesterday. Yum! A repeat visit is definitely in our future soon. I had the eggs Benedict and I really thought the english muffins and hollandaise sauce were spectacular. Especially happy they didn't skimp on the sauce. The poached eggs were a little overdone, but better than than the alternative. I was not a fan of the Dutch potatoes that came with the meal. They were a little too oily for my liking/some were undercooked. Next time I'll try the fruit! My son had a kid's breakfast that I snuck a few bites of. The pancake was excellent! I had almost ordered the special of strawberry french toast and after tasting the pancake, I wish I could have ordered two entrees because they sure do sweet stuff well too... Our waitress was wonderful, polite and always nearby with fresh coffee. Even the other patrons were happy and friendly, chatting with our 14 month old. All in all, it was a very enjoyable morning and Deboer's will probably become a favorite spot of ours.
(4)Ryan B.
Flavorful house-made food. Quaint touristy Holland atmosphere. Delicious baked goods for dessert.
(5)Rachel B.
I love breakfast. Simple breakfast, fancy breakfast and everything in between. This place has the best breakfast I think I've had anywhere. Hippie hash is nummy. Oma's way and opa's way omelets are delicious. The food is a step beyond your basic breakfast, sort of what I'd classify as trendy breakfast. If you go on the weekend and don't want to wait, make sure you get there early!
(5)John B.
Innovative and fresh comes to mind when I think of this place. I've never been disappointed in my choices of dishes. Fresh roasted coffee and the smell of the bakery really adds to the overall quality of this place. The staff is knowledgable and friendly.
(5)Tom L.
Great place to eat and support a long standing family of the Holland area! Top notch service and food.
(5)Jj J.
This place is great. No wonder so many people recommend the meals here. Two lunches: the deBoer bistro steak sandwich and the California Reuben. Both were nicely presented and delightful. The kettle chips and pickles added to the treat. Can't wait to try breakfast here.
(5)Josh P.
Best breakfast in Holland. I love the creative menu when it comes to the omelets(cancun, frisian and amsterdam. Loved the pig in the blankets and I recently had the chorizo breakfast tacos which were amazing as well. They have a lot of meatless breakfast options as well. My fiance loves the breakfast parfait. Just make sure to get there early, as there will be a wait for prime breakfast time. Staff is always knowledgable and friendly. We go here every time we are back in Holland.
(5)Julie F.
Love this place. Drove 2 hours for breakfast. Well worth it! The waffles are great and eggs Benedict perfect.
(5)Mary R.
If you're looking for a great breakfast joint, look no further! Please try their Hippy Hash! It's absolutely delicious! This dish is served with potatoes, lemon vinaigrette marinated red onions, chorizo, eggs, and your choice of toast. Support good and local restaurants! Expect a long wait on Sundays. Enjoy!
(4)Paul Q.
Was in town for a family reunion and my girlfriend came here on a recommendation from my aunt. It was fantastic, aside from the wait... but even that wasn't horrible (~25m @ 11:00 on the Friday after July 4th). The food was great. She got the Crab Cake Benedict and it was perfect. WARNING: don't get this unless you love crab cake. I do and I loved it. For her, the crab taste was a bit overwhelming to which she said "This is really good, but the crab is just too much, but that's my own fault for ordering it". I got the Hippie Hash which was even better -- chorizo with Dutch potatoes (sliced red potatoes grilled with skin on) and some usual hash fillings, and a great hollandaise sauce variation on top. Also, the ambiance is really nice because it's a Dutch Bakery and the smells and coffee are very appeasing. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area, even if only for one breakfast!
(5)Jon P.
This establishment makes me proud to be Dutch. Pig n' Blanket and Banket almond bars are a must.
(5)Jason S.
The best breakfast place in Holland by far! Fresh ingredients and consist quality. The wait staff is friendly and the selection is amazing! Try the Hippy Hash and Crab Cakes Eggs Benedict.
(5)Nickie H.
Great brunch spot with lots of menu options. Lots of baked goods to choose from. Love the Dutch theme.
(5)Gregg c.
Without a doubt, Deboer's was the culinary highlight of our trip to Southwestern Michigan. We arrived at 9 am and were seated immediately, which is NOT a common occurrence. When we left, there were more than 20 waiting for tables. It is WORTH the wait. Our waiter, a college senior, was friendly, knowledgeable and his timing was fantastic. The wife and I both had omelets and both were cooked to perfection. My wife commented that hers was the best omelet she had ever had, which I had to comment that this was discouraging because I had cooked omelets for her nearly every sunday for our 37 years of marriage. :) SHe was right. Also, the wheat toast was whole grain wheat and very tasty. We also shared a sticky bun and a cinnamon roll and they were served warm and were delicious. COffee was high quality and as I looked around at other tables, all the food looked great and the people were enjoying their meals. Great place for breakfast OR just to pick up some delicious pastry.
(5)Beth N.
The best breakfast in town! The food and bakery always delish! We had a small wait one busy summer Saturday morning and they brought around donuts to all those waiting, such great service!
(5)Vin D.
Food was excellent as well as the staff. I had the Dutch Delight which was delishious. Best eggs Benedict too.
(5)Jan L.
Innovative breakfast sandwich beef with aged balsamic, pesto, mozzarella cheese and fried egg. Yum uum
(5)Nick R.
Lunch today. Slow service. We were seated next to a wait station within 3 feet of an open garbage can. Split pea soup was like paste, BLT toast was cold and soggy, Specialty coffee tasted horrible, waiter had his finger in my side of mayo and wiped his finger on his pants after he set it on my table. The place just can't seem to get consistent.
(2)Eben W.
I went there last week and have no complaints! I had fish tacos and iced tea and let me tell you, it was delicious! Best fish tacos I've ever had and the tea was very nice. My mom had the beach club sandwich which I had a bite of, and it was good. My sister had eggs Benedict, which I also tried. Very nice! I hope to be back soon.
(5)Donna F.
Where to start - this bakery is fabulous! We have vacationed in Saugatuck & Holland for a few years and last year we ate breakfast here 5 days in a row! The blueberry klompen cakes (pancakes) are simply delicious and huge - 1 is plenty with a side of bacon. And don't forget your afternoon snack from the bakery - the Dutch Mocha Tart is yummy and the Almond filled pastries are very good. They are very busy here but the wait isn't too bad & definitely worth it!

A very pleasant and friendly place. Pretty good coffee, and for breakfast, look no further than the first item listed on the menu: the crabcake eggs benedict. Awesome.

Friendly staff, efficient and most if all great food...We had the Chorizo Breakfast sandwich which was a bevy of flavors and the Rembrandt Way Benedict which was light and flavorful. Could not have been happier:)

Came here today for the first time. Very good breakfast for Holland, but I was still a bit disappointed at the apparent lack of Dutch food, other than some baked goods, although most of the dish names play off a Dutch theme. Even the pancakes were American-style rather than pannekoeken. Seriously, someone needs to start a Dutch restaurant in this town; it is a bit embarrassing that there isn't one. I ordered a piece of banket (classic Dutch almond-paste-filled pastry log) on the side of my eggs florentine (called Eggs Rembrandt or something) to balance things out. In any case, the breakfast was tasty and offered a broad menu for Holland. Awesome Hollandaise (which is of course French in origin). The bakery side of the business does offer a wide range of Dutch-style baked goods, in any case. We grabbed 4 banket for the road.

There is really no better way to start the day than by munching (um, gulping) hot, fresh and delicious pastries. (Or at least, there aren't many) And when the day is your birthday and you are heading to the beach - it's even better! Deboer Bakkerij (no need to be the shiniest star in the sky to figure this one out in Dutch) is outside Holland and you most definitely need a car to go there if you are "downtown". But boy is it worth the trip! You will not only be greeted by cheesy parking signs and a long line of locals - but you will loose your mind as soon as you walk on your right and have a look at the pastry case..... That's overwhelming! But in the most delicious way possible; muffins, danishes, croissants (sweet and savory), cookies, cinnamon rolls, cakes, breads...you just don't now what to choose as you stand there, staring, jaw dropped. But in fact it wasn't that hard for me because as soon as I laid my eyes on the monstrous muffins I knew I wanted one. Or five. But calling them "monstrous" is not giving them justice: they were the most glorious, appealing, appetizing, generous, golden mushroom-shaped pastries I had ever seen. I walked out with a peach and cream and a cappucino/chocolate chips and sat on the outside deck with my latte. First bite: my eyes rolled to the back of my head.......so moist, flavorful, rich and decadent.... I had a hard time not to swallow both of them right then and there. The place was super busy, and it's not surprising. They have a sit-down brunch menu as well, with some Dutch specialties and people were waiting to get a table. I just imagine how impossible it must be on weekends. The best part about it all? A medium coffee, a large latte and these two treasures only cost $8!! I still cannot believe it. Worth all the cupcakes in the world.

The bakery side of Deboers was fantastic. The service was great the pastries were wide and varying and they all looked delicious. The restaurant side was just ok. The menu was varying and looked good but don't eat here on a diet. Everything we ordered was soaked in about ten pounds of grease. Major points had to be subtracted for the service. I don't know if we caught them on a bad day or what. The line to get in was out the door the restaurant about half full. The wait staff walked by everyone for about 15 minutes trying to pretend they didn't see the crowd. I don't know if they were understaffed or what was going on but found this to be very rude. Once we were finally seated the waitress was nice and helpful. I would go back again and give the restaurant one more try just to see if the service was the same but i would not eat make it a weekly stop. The way they cook their food is enough to make the heart hurt. I would defiantly hit the bakery every day if I could.

Been here three times and it is always great! Had breakfast twice (try the Opas Corn Beef Hash and eggs) or for lunch try the pea soup and croquettes served with a bread and Gouda cheese, delisth!

The Hippy Hash is great! We try to come on the weekends and when people are in town to visit, but the line and the wait can be long. The dutch cookies and pastries are always fun to buy and try after your meal. If you are lucky and arrive just before they clean up the bakery, sometimes they will bring out free samples of dutch goodies... a yummy BONUS!

Yum, cinnamon rolls! Took some black/white, dutch chocolate chip, and fudge sandie cookies to go and they were all excellent. Will def hit this place up, again, for the pastries!

Delicious bakery & imported Dutch candies-- even found double salted black licorice, Hopjes & more here. :) So many yummy pastries my friends and I shared, and the sandwiches were delicious, too. I can't recommend just one thing, but definitely stop by! Cute cafe, chill atmosphere.

We went on a Sunday morning when the entire downtown area of Holland seems to be shut down like a church town. Fortunately, we arrived at the bakeri to find everyone in full swing. This did mean about a twenty minute wait, but it ended up being well worth it. The host was super friendly and had a great sense of humor when calling for people's tables. When we got sat, we ordered some amazing coffee from the nicest brunette waitress, Suzanne. She even asked if we had been there before, a question only really typical of fancier steakhouse type restaurants. When we relied we had not, she let us know the most important thing: EVERYTHING was made from scratch. Awesome. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy and, true to form, my fiancee ordered breakfast tacos. Because we wanted to try one, we got a klompin cake to split. The food arrived promptly. My biscuits were literally the best biscuits I've ever had. The gravy was filled with what seemed like three types of sausage. Her tacos looked great and she said she loved them, especially the "fixins" that were on the side. The true treat of the meal, however, was a klompin cake. A thick buttermilk pancake-like cake, about 10" in diameter and covered in caramelized apples (you could add fruit for 75¢). When we got a couple bites in to this piece of heaven, the waitress asked if we liked everything. My fiancee and I both immediately replied that this was the best pancake we have ever had. She laughed and said she agreed. She told us that she can't order pancakes anywhere else now. I understand why. Even the host came over to ask how we liked everything, an amazing touch. I would seriously drive the three hours back there to eat the food again. Mmmmm

Most cities seem to have one great local breakfast destination, I'd say Deboer's is defiantly that location for me and many people I know. They've got a great atmosphere, always packed on the weekends and consistently provide great food and friendly service. You'll frequently see the owners around the restaurant asking about your food/service or thanking people for coming in, which to me is a great way to be involved in the business. The Blue Raspberry Bliss Cakes are a great recommendation for a unique twist on pancakes.

I love having breakfast here! Good, prompt, friendly service and great food. Not figure friendly but who says you have to clean your plate? You can't get better pastries in town and the mocha cakes are delicious. Wonderful breads and traditional dutch goodies like banket and pigs in a blanket too.

When a local says to go to Deboer for a taste of authentic Holland (,MI), you listen! We did and were definitely rewarded with delicious bakery items galore. Everyone has spoken of the breakfasts, but I can say the bakery perfections are where the breakfasts start. Between my friend and me, we brought the rye and sandwich breads, seasonal pumpkin/ white chocolate chip cookie, cinnamon roll, and the dutch butter cake/bread, plus a few more, home. The dutch butter cake was uniquely rich and addictive, while the rye bread had the strong sour, caraway taste that should be more common and easily made up for a thin crust. I didn't have the cinnamon roll until the next night, but it was still satisfying with a little heat. "Just want to warn you the pigs in a blanket are just out of the oven, so watch out for exploding sausage," might just be the best piece of advice from someone behind a counter (the sausage, not hot dog!, wrapped in perfect pastry shadowed anything made with crescent rolls), and she was the nicest person to lead you on a journey through the many choices of bakery. On top of all this, Deboer roasts their coffee onsite, and we walked by the U.S. Roaster Co beauty en route to the bathroom....we'll try the coffee next time since JP's was on our itinerary!!!

This is the only place we ate at on our trip around Lake Michigan that we did'nt find on yelp* In fact a friend recommended this place. The service got off to a rocky start but they soon hit there pace. Disappointingly they were out of soup. Admittedly it was a rare cool day in July when we were there, but when the server saw how sad my daughter was she disappeared into the back and brought out the last bowel that had been set aside for an employee and with that redeemed themselves for the mediocre start. Although I was'nt crazy about my lunch of "croquettes" I don't think it was there fault as they seemed to be carefully prepared. A fun place to visit

This is the BEST place to get crab cakes Benedict. Mmmmm

Invited to lunch with a friend yesterday and she recommended we go to Deboer bakery. I had never heard of it... and agreed. It was awesome! I had the turkey, bacon club sandwich. The best club sandwich I have had. Their breads are all made right there and the whole grain was moist and flavorful..and the ingredients were in very generous portions. It is served with honey mustard instead of mayo, which I found to be a refreshing change of pace! Actually liked it so much I invited my Father to join me there for breakfast the next day.. and he had a egg and pig in the blanket breakfast.. and we both agreed the flaky pastry on the pig was the best we had ever had. Definitely recommend! Now that downside, parking is pretty limited.. and you will likely have to wait for a table.. it is a bit noisy..but exceptionally pleasant all the same!

The DeBoer family has really hit a home run with this very Dutch atmosphere breakfast and lunch restaurant. The bakery is also a place you will want to visit to pick up some great dessert or a good bread, like the raisin bread with almond paste. The pig-in-the-blankets are the best in town, period.

whether you are looking for breakfast lunch or just a quick pastry and coffee you can not go wrong at deBoer's. The staff is great and the owner and his sons are always around to help you get to know their art. whether it be in the bakery, on the menu, or in the coffee roaster. We are weekly guests here.

Deboer's has AMAZING breakfasts! I live in Chicago, a mecca of outstanding restaurants, and I still look forward to grabbing brunch at Deboer's everytime I am in Holland. I highly recommend Rembrandt's Way and the Berry Bliss Cakes. I am looking forward to my next visit.
