Usually the service is SPECTACULAR although it was slow for breakfast. Well worth the wait! The Hawaiian scrambler was one for the record books! Yum!!! The water is of well variety, so you might want something from a bottle. The decor has some nice local thriving artists. And in case you were wondering they do have keno!

The food was decent and it's family friendly bar / restaurant. Lots of wood and kitch, and if your a vegetarian, like my girl, you may get freaked out by all the dead animal heads mounted on the walls. Everywhere! It's a hunters paradise. I sat in the original building (which is a log cabin), kinda cool.

Great food with the atmosphere you'd expect for a local country bar. We visited here with my in-laws and I had a hard time selecting dinner because there were several appetizing choices but ended up deciding on the Fire Clucker sandwich (chicken breast, jalapeños, pepper jack cheese and spicy ranch). It was hot off the griddle and exactly what I was hoping for. My husband had a burger cooked to a perfect medium as ordered. The fries were the kind with the crunchy coating and we enjoyed them. I think the kettle chips are also made in-house and delicious. The menu has a great selection of regular bar-fare while remaining interesting, including wraps, grilled subs, calzones and pizza. They had at least 3 soup selections and some of the dinner salads also sounded pretty yummy. The service was friendly. When my mother-in-law's sandwich came with the cheese she had requested be omitted, the correction was made with apology and quick remedy. She had a brand new sandwich in less than five minutes. Overall, this is a great local meal for a decent price. We look forward to future meals here with our family that lives nearby.

Pepper showed me all of her tattoos. She also made me the drink she was drinking all day and night. Drunken servers have the warmest hugs.

This is a great local bar. You can't beat the atmosphere. Food is better than average. I've never had anything that wasn't good.

Traveling from Jackson toward Detroit, I decided to avoid the Interstates and take the scenic Territorial Road. I was getting hungry and honestly, there really aren't that many restaurants along that stretch of road. Along came The Iverness Inn. It looked decent enough from the outside, so in I went. With a pretty full house on the bar side, a table on the dining room side was selected. Erica was a most attentive waitress and mentioned the Saturday specials. As I looked over the menu, I settled for the petit steak with fried vegetables, and a side baked potato. The food was prepared well and arrived in good time. I can see why locals and weekenders frequent this warm and cozy establishment. While there were many couples on the bar side, I followed a small family into the dining room. As I was leaving, the evening's entertainment was setting up, so I am sure they continued to have a good time as the daylight turned into nighttime. They have wifi, but I was not able to make a connection.

I love this place. I've been coming here since the 80's...yep really. I know I don't look that old, but yep...I am. We used to do what we called 'the Gregory run". This took us past the Inverness Inn...that we always called the "Inverted Inn" (and still do!). It's been changed a lot since those days, but they have retained the old "log cabin" back room they had (great move). Being a biker, I love the rides on these roads, and the Inverted is a great place to stop for some pizza, which is great (75 cents a slice if they have one ready!), beer is cheap and cold! I really like Sherri or Heather/Edna (you'll understand if you go there...maybe!) Seriously, you need to go here. The locals are friendly and welcoming. It's a very odd mix of locals, bikers, golfers, and other assorted weirdos...but it works! Cool place... stop by. If you see a scrubby, bearded, leather clad guy that looks p*ssed off, say "hello"...you'll find out he's actually...well..um...Me!

Came here tonight. Service Was horrible. The waitress acted mad at us the entire time (and we are a nice group) we actually wondered if we had done something wrong. Until the end when she started to be nice....obviously worried about a tip. The food is ok, not worth the rude service.

Decent little place for a rural bar and restaurant. Don't drink the water on tap, unless you like well-water. The food is on the greasy side, but the pizzas are good. Karaoke and live music on the weekends. Located on North Territorial, across from the Inverness golf course. Nice destination for a bite to eat when out for a ride on the motorcycles. The area is perfect for riding.

Now that we live out of state, Inverness is the restaurant I miss the most. We lived in Chelsea for five years and would drive to Inverness every week or so for dinner. We're in our late 20's and were usually the youngest diners in there, but that didn't bother us. There was always a good mix of middle aged couples, families with kids, bikers, and singles hanging out at the bar. It's mostly locals and bikers stopping for a bite while out riding the winding roads, but the atmosphere is always comfortable, casual, and welcoming. Inverness has the best pizza in Chelsea - better than the chains and better than Thompson's, the other local pizza joint. Their spinach-artichoke dip, garlic cheese bread, chef salad, and burgers were also consistently awesome. Anything else I ordered I never ordered a second time. For a country bar in the middle of nowhere, Inverness has a great selection of local and craft beers on tap. Their beer is ice cold and cheap! Entertaining, hilarious, and sometimes down-right quality karaoke on the weekends. Live music on occasion, too.

I love this place and have been going here since the late 60s and it is still my favorite dive bar. Laid-back, friendly, great beer selection including seasonal varieties of Bell's products, very good hamburgers, fish 'n chips and ribs. My favorite food here is the home made potato chips (you might have to ask for them if they are not on the menu), but it will be worth it. What potato chips should be, and an excellent side for the burger. The pizzas are surprisingly good. The owner is friendly, the waitstaff couldn't better. A perfect place to while away a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon. Because of the beautiful location in the midst of some of the most scenic roads in southeast Michigan, it is a perfect destination for motorcycle riders needing to stretch their legs and slake the inevitable thirst. I've heard talk for several years about improvements, like a fully paved parking lot and an outdoor patio - both of which would make it even a bigger draw for the motorcycling crowd. Maybe we'll see it happen in 2013??? If you're out for a ride and looking for a unique 'joint', you should definitely consider the venerable and historic Inverness Inn. And getting there couldn't be simpler; just head West on N. Territorial till you get there.
