Stopped during a road trip for a sit down meal of burgers and a milkshake. Service was reasonable and food was okay. But the place is kind of run down and there was a sewage issue in the men's room. (of course the guys in our group all blamed each other...lol)

Like many others I stopped in during a road trip into the area and cannot recommend. Table was dirty, seat too - used 4 napkins to clean while I waited 25 minutes for a waffle, eggs and sausage. Waffle was barely edible but eggs and sausage were okay. You can tell the cooks nor waitresses don't take any pride in their jobs here...

We ate there Saturday evening and were far from satisfied. We ordered the 2 for $20, which included the salad bar. Lettuce on was brown and salad bar overall disappointing. Service was slow, though the place was not busy. We asked our waitress for a glass of water on three separate occasions. Dessert comes with the deal to split - the waitress brought our bill and we had to ask about the dessert. I won't go back, extremely disappointed, especially since the Big Boy near our home is so much nicer. We spend quite a bit of time at our cabin in the area during the summer, and we will NEVER eat there again! Advertise free wi-fi, but we could not get any service once supposedly connected on iPad or either of our phones.

Food is better than it was with the old owner. Price is right and portions are good.

The service was friendly but quite slow. Waited 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order and only after we stopped someone to ask if we were going to be served. Then our pancakes took 25 minutes. They were great! No refills on water or coffee were offered. Avoid this Big Boy

Unimpressive service and badly cooked food. Surprised the Big Boy chain lets this location run so poorly.

It is what it is. We are on our way toTraverse City for the day and decided to skip Taco Bell and go to Big Boy- which first opened up in Detroit. We only know that because it said so on the Big Boy shirts. They had two buffets going on. An all day breakfast buffer and a salad and soup buffet. We went with the salad buffet. The salad was a little old and the ingredients were about half full, but it was ok. They had beets, so all was good in my book. They had eggs, REAL bacon bits, and all the rest of the salad topping goodies. They had a couple of macaroni salads, but they had a thin crust of "old" on them, so I steered clear. The waitress was nice enough. She seemed very friendly, and was very busy. The atmosphere is typical diner/ restaurant atmosphere- probably decorated in the 90's. The nice thing I noticed was the huge amount of hanging ferns was missing. I never did understand why thru had those in there. If you are looking for a memorable place to eat- this isn't it. It isn't a 4 star restaurant. It's cheap and basic- but that's all we needed. :)

Stopped here because we didn't want fast food and thought it'd be a bit cheaper than Applebee's. Big mistake. Waited 5 minutes for the hostess to show up and when she did she didn't great us, she just stared at us. So I told her we had a party of 6. She then looked at her list and said, "oh. You're Deb." It took a few minutes to explain to her that I was NOT Deb and that I was with a different party. Each person that came in, she did the same thing to. After we were finally seated and had our order taken, we waited over 45 minutes for our meal which never came. We left. Avoid. I didn't want to give this place any stars but it wouldn't let me post unless I did.

Friendly staff, below average food. Stopped here on the way home from Traverse City. I wasn't expecting great food, but this wasn't even average. My chicken tenders & fries have the taste & appearance of food cooked in dirty cooking oil. This is my first & last visit at this particular location. Do yourself a favor & grab Mickey D's or the Bell.

We stopped for breakfast on the way home this morning. The hostess was nowhere to be found even though they were not very busy, we had 2 servers tell us someone would be there shortly. Once we did get seated, our server took quite a while to get to us. After ordering, I could see what looked like our food being set up on the warmer. Our server took other plates from the same area, but did not bring ours. After a while she came by and said our food would be shortly. Turns out our order was the one that was sitting there for 15 minutes. Told her we would just pay for the coffee, and left. Barely received any kind of apology. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS PLACE
