It wasn't bad, my spouse and I just thought another spot in town is much better. We both agreed the brisket was greasy for some reason... Too much fat. The mac & cheese was actually shells and cheese and kind of blah, didn't care for the slaw, but the cornbread muffin was really good. If we ever try it again will def go for another meat. Beans were ok, liked the meat in them, spicy. It was $28 for my spouse and I and we didn't even have drinks.

Hands down the best BBQ in town. Smoky and juicy from meat to meat. We'll see if Slows can give it a run for its money when they open but it's going to be tough. If you've never tried burnt ends or haven't liked them in the past, don't make the mistake of not trying them here. I can't emphasize how important it is to try the burnt ends. Just do it. A good selection of sauces but of course you'll definitely want to try all of the meats with no sauces first to really evaluate and notice the things they are doing so right here. The only thing I wish they had, and this is extremely minor, is a good Memphis style molassesy and brown sugar sauce. Seating is somewhat limited but I'd rather stand outside eating this BBQ out of a take out container then have a nice comfy seat eating infinitely inferior BBQ someplace else. A little pricey too, FYI. But once you taste the food, I think you'll feel the investment was well worth it

This place is legit. I had never heard of burnt ends but I tried them. Mind=blown. Didn't make it in time for the tater tots, but cornbread was also super moist and good.

Great BBQ finally comes to Grand Rapids! Both the brisket and pulled pork were legit. Great addition to the WestSide. Only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because their options for vegetarians are few, and they need a vinegar style sauce option. Would love it if they were open a little later as well - tough to get over here for lunches. If I could have given 4.5 stars I would have.

I finally got to try some Two Scotts catering! I had brisket, sausage, baked beans, pimento mac and cheese, and a cornbread muffin. The brisket was definitely my favorite. It was very tender and juicy with just the right amount of fat. The cornbread muffins were incredibly moist and tender. The sausage was perfectly smoked. I also tried some horseradish sauce, it was kind of sweet like honey mustard and not overly horseradish-y. I loved it. The baked beans were a little dry for me, but the mac and cheese was ok. I would love to visit them and have some more of that brisket!

We are pretty picky about BBQ but 2 Scotts is off to a good start. Tried the pulled pork and the sausage (they were out of brisket and ribs but we'll be back to try them) the pork was very good nice and tender, the sausage was juicy. Also tried out the coleslaw and pimento mac-n-cheese. The mac-n-cheese I think would be best enjoyed there as it had congealed a bit by the time we made it home and the slaw is definitely more tart and vinegary vs sweet and creamy. Sad I forgot the cornbread will have to grab it next time. Tried all the sauces, but I didn't mark them. Could not tell between the house and the hot. Neither seemed "hot" but they were both good, my husband loved the mustard sauce.

Had the 3 meat combo and it was a good amount of food for $16. The brisket and pulled pork was very good. Pulled chicken was good but better with the horseradish sauce. Mustard potato salad wasn't my favorite and beans were okay. Overall I'd give it a 4.4. Definitely get there early otherwise they run out of meat and you are waiting for a long time.

I am a little surprised at all the high reviews Two Scotts has received. Tried the brisket, slaw, mac & cheese .All was under seasoned, and what surprised me was an underlying bitterness to the slaw. Oh,and no cornbread was available due to a mistake made in the kitchen. So,have had way better BBQ.Very dissapointed.

Really good BBQ- and great owners who are taking care of you and the food you eat. Because it's new right now and a novelty, the line may be a little long. Corn bread is really good, and the burnt ends were the best! Lots of good sides to choose from. They also have root beer on tap. There is no other place in town like it- glad to have a better option than famous daves. Location is perfect with a brewery and a distillery within stones throw. Check this place out!

BBQ has finally come to Grand Rapids. The best burnt ends I ever had my life where in a place called LCs BBQ in Kansas City. These are better. And that's all I have to say about that. Get in your car, hop on the bus, get out your bike or run. This may be the best thing that you ever place in your face hole.

Definitely the best BBQ north of the Mississippi!! As a girl raised in the South I've been looking for good BBQ in Grand Rapids and Two Scott's definitely delivers! I've been twice already and they've only been open for a week!! It's a must go!

Burnt ends, brisket and sausage made up our Combo #3. I've eaten BBQ all over this country and Two Scots holds their own with any of them.

So so so tasty! Take advantage of the variety of sauces, especially the Stone Ground Mustard - I could drink it! I chose the sandwich combo (choice of meat; comes with pickles and slaw) and went with the brisket, as it came highly recommended by our friendly order-taker/cashier. I also never turn down tots, so when the sign read "homemade tots"... Heck yeah! We sat outside at a picnic table to enjoy the deliciousness that is 2 Scotts. I indulged and then I licked my fingers clean! I would have preferred a crispier toast on the 'wich, but that's personal preference. I finished this amazing lunch off with a draft cream soda (perfect on a 75° summer afternoon!) and paid compliments to 1 of the 2 Scotts himself! I assured him that I would be back...and I'll be bringing lots of friends, too!

First time visiting! It was awesome. Highly recommend the three meat combo. Sauces: the mustard and dog sauce were our favorites, adds a totally different flavor to the meat! Definitely on our list of places to go.

Tried Two Scotts for the first time at 11:45a today. Very busy for lunch with long line but moved relatively quickly. Limited seating with 3 two seat high-tops along wall opposite counter and stools by window for total seating for only about 12-15 max. Ordered St. Louis Ribs, pulled pork and a pulled pork sandwich combo. Sauce is do-it-yourself with squeeze bottles and little ketchup cup type things with lids if you're doing take-out. Sauce was ok with 4 varieties but not a wow. Pulled pork was ok but not particularly smoked or bbq flavor--just normal. Ribs were not very meaty and kind of dried out actually. Sides of coleslaw and potato salad were both on the vinegar-y sour side but that's ok. Overall I'd encourage fellow yelpsters to give Two Scott's a try but arrive early. Food is ok but didn't knock my socks off. We do like to support the local business and that entrepreneurial spirit so glad to see them when you get that bbq hankerin'!

This place is amazing. Burnt ends and brisket to die for. I've waited in line at 10:30 in the am (they open at 11) just to get those two items as they sell out fast. The ribs are always juicy with an appropriate fat layer. Get here early for an amazing meat treat!

Two Scotts BBQ is a nice addition to the west side of the city. There are a few high top tables with stools or counter seating by the front windows when you enter. The ordering counter stretches toward the back of the establishment opening to an outdoor eating area complete with picnic tables. Being my first visit, I asked for a recommendation. The staff suggested I try the burnt ends being one of their more popular items. This sounded good to me so I added an order of smoked baked beans and busied myself dispensing their various fresh sauces into mini cups for dipping while I waited. My food came out quickly in their standard to go box, but no worries just split the box open if you're eating in and enjoy. The meat and smoked beans were both incredibly good! The burnt ends were tender and juicy with that depth of flavor I was hoping for from their beef. Plain or dipped the meat was just excellent! The baked beans were thick and hearty filled with chunks of smoked pork. Good portion size too, I had enough to box the remaining and take it with me to share with family. Really no matter where you fall, if you consider yourself something of a BBQ expert or not, Two Scotts is worth the stop. Delicious smoked quality meats and plenty of fresh flavorful house made sauces to dip them in. A friendly dedicated staff you just enjoy ordering from and a great location on the west side of GR.

Four West Michigan barbecue joints in 1.5hrs for lunch. That was my goal, and mission accomplished! First off, there's only 2 things I cared about: brisket and sausage; both the most difficult thing and easiest thing to cook, respectively. Two Scotts was first on the agenda and came in last place. The brisket was somewhat juicy but completely lacking in flavor on both the rub and smoke fronts. The meat faired pretty well in the pull test, but could have been more tender. A significant problem was the lack of any serious bark on my slices. In fact, 3/4 of my portion had no bark at all - just the exposed fat cap layer that, quite frankly, wasn't rendered down nearly enough. The lack of bark is indicative of three things: 1. Not enough rub, 2. not enough evenly distributed rub and, 3. pulled too soon. I'll get to that in a minute. The brisket that the slicer had on the slab certainly had some bark, but for large sections the fat cap was plainly visible. Smoke flavor was practically non-existant which left the overall flavor somewhere around pot roast. Bark on every single slice of brisket, whether from the lean or moist end, is par for the course and criminal behavior when missing. The lack of all-over bark, bark that is a bit of a wet mess, and meat that is just shy of really tender usually point to one thing: It's being pulled too soon and/or isn't being rested long enough. I'd say maybe both. The key to that elusive sugar cookie bark is low and slow. That bark has got to be nearly black when you pull it. If not, you're just fartin around. Whether it's pulled and then wrapped, then placed back on for more hours, then pulled and rested - is neither here nor there for great bark. The sausage, however, was delicious but did taste more grilled than smoked. Everyone in this place was cool and are clearly busting their butts. I wish them success but can't urge them enough to leave that brisket in the smoker for a longer period of time until the bark is black, pull and wrap with butcher paper, and stick it back on until you get that precious jello wiggle. Then rest for hours, lol. Best of luck guys! 1st place: Dallas Deli, Grandville 2nd place: Slows Bar BQ, Grand Rapids 3rd place: Horseshoe Smokehouse, Grand Rapids 4th place: Two Scotts, Grand Rapids
