The bank teller @ Chase recommended Roses Express when I asked her where I can get a nice light lunch to go. There's not too many choices in the area, but then again I'm from California so there's not too many choices in the whole of Grand Rapids for me! lol In choosing Rose's over the other restaurants, I found the chinese place didn't look appealing and had limited veggies options, the lebanese place is over priced, the hot dog place doesn't have any veggie options and Olga's staff seem unhappy so Rose's was a good choice and will probably be my regular lunch spot when I'm in the area :) Food They have pastas, salads, pizza, dessert and I got a cheese pizza for just $4 as it was one of the lunch specials. Ask for garnishes (parmesan, chilli flakes) if you need them, they chopped up some fresh herb mix for me to sprinkle on top which was nice! I haven't tried enough food to give it 5 stars. They deliver within EGR and offer catering. Decor Very cute rustic Italian with a blazing woodfire in view. It's express so a very small establishment with 1 or 2 tables to eat outside. You can always get it to go and head to the park around the corner at Reeds Lake. Staff They greet you as soon as you walk in which many restaurants forget to do. Jason was in back doing a fine job and Sean was managing orders and helping in back when not tending, nice chaps! Parking There's a ton of free street parking on Lakeside Drive around the corner. I couldn't believe this was another Gillmore Group restaurant, but then again that's a good thing because I know I'm getting great value and quality with them! -p

This place is awesome. The pizza is great. The lunch specials are inexpensive. This place is a must go.

Get the ribeye sandwich!!! It's delicious. This place has great lunch specials, and is tasty. It's great on the go when you're wanting to walk around gaslight village or Reed's Lake. They have pretty good pizza, and their sandwiches are mouthwatering. They even have dessert!

Quite possibly the best food in East Grand Rapids. Their small, but jam-packed menu is filled with tasty food options including some delicious brick oven pizza, some great sandwiches and subs, and some great pasta options. They deliver in EGR, but it is easy to get it to-go and there is easy street parking and a parking garage nearby if needed. Don't forget your Rose's caramel corn... After all, Rose's name comes from the historical popcorn seller at Ramona Park on Reeds Lake.

Finding a good pizza is like trying to find the Holy Grail. This conundrum has always amazed me, because we have such a vibrant history of tasty food. Roses Express makes a mean pie, and they do it with a smile upon their faces to boot. Sure, it's a pie best enjoyed in the privacy of your own home (that place is teeny tiny) but you'll be licking the box clean when you're done, cursing the fact that you didn't buy an extra so you could have leftovers for later that night. Not that that happened to me or anything...
