Harmony keeps getting better, they take risks with the beer and keep changing it up, if you want a taste they give you a taste without charging you like many other places in town. The service is now at a high level, they have a crew that clearly likes working there and that shows, I didn't always feel that way in the first few months. Like all places that are not mediocre it won't be for everyone but its not trying to be. If you like some experiementation in your life, a different beer each visit (yes, some will be better than others but that helps you learn what you like) beer passionate but not beer snob crew with v good pizzas its worth a visit or two or even more.

After a long day on the ski slopes of Caberfae, 3 of us were drying to fuel our bodies with some delicious pizza and micro-brewed beer. After a quick search on the nets we decided to check out Harmony. After entering the restaurant, we were quickly greeted by the hostess and taken to our booth. The place had a really nice and welcoming atmosphere with dimly lit booths and pleasant wall decorations. You could see just about every age group eating and enjoying themselves. We even saw a dad and his two little ones picking on pepperoni off their pizzas. After a short wait, our server came with the menu. The drinks menu had variety of beers and cocktails listed. Since we were interested in beer, we took a note of their selection which consisted of Stouts, Brown ales, Shandy, Belgian, and even Root Beer. We ordered the Imperial Stout, the IPA, and a root beer. The Stout tasted of dark chocolate while the IPA was made with spicy rye with piney, resiny hops. I'm sorry to say but I was just not very impressed. The beers did seem like they were made with effort but they just lacked characters and something just tasted a little off. Root beer actually tasted really good and is recommended for non-beer drinkers. For the pizza, we ordered "The Good Earth" which came with Spinach, mushrooms, caramelized onions, Jarlsberg cheese, balsamic, and fresh basil. We also got the "Hey Goat!" which came with Sausage, goat cheese, and fresh basil. I have to say that I was floored by how delicious and amazing both pizzas were. They had a really nice crispy crust and the ingredients tasted very fresh. You could really taste the glory of Goat Cheese and the aroma of sausage with every bite. The seasonings were perfect and not overdone and all the ingredients were chosen to work together. I was a little bit underwhelmed by the beer selection but I give thumbs up to their pizza fare. One advice to Harmony would be to relocate the sad and gloomy high table that's located to the right of the entrance door. Nobody likes to be surrounded by 3 sides of the wall without a view of the outside.

This small brewery/cafe is a nice addition to the Eastown scene. The atmosphere was a mix of younger college kids to parents with their kids. It's small and for me and a little congested, especially since the workers had to carry 50 lb. bags of flour through the dining area. I personally don't like being seated at such a small cafe. Just let me sit where I please. The beers were decent, with the brown ale being my favorite. I talked to one of the owners for a short amount of time, and he was very friendly and said their working out some kinks on their new system. So in time I believe their beers will get better, not that they're bad but they're not awesome either (blame Founder's and Bell's for giving west Michigan a spoiled palate). Pizzas look good but did not have one. Had the breadsticks and I wasn't a huge fan of them. I don't mind different but at least make them interesting. Regardless of some flaws it's great to see this small brewery in Eastown. Hopefully more will open in neighborhoods around the city.

quick sum: good beer- service a bit odd... We hit harmony for a quick pint- the beer was surprisingly good- while we were there it was not too busy, the worker to customer ratio was about 3 to 1... workers seemed to be everywhere...not really working but instead admiring themselves & how truly cool they were... hopefully that works itself out- as the beer is well crafted enough to warrant another visit! Also, kudos to whomever negotiated the architectural/size challenges of the existing building when creating this brewery- great aesthetic sensibility- it feels much larger than it is & the place looks great!

I've heard the pizza is delicious so I was excited to get the opportunity to grab dinner the other night. I had the Sour Cherry beer, which was delicious. My mom had the Farmhouse Ale, which was pretty mild. I ordered the Herbert pizza, which is a no red sauce pizza with goat cheese, prosciutto, and spinach. It was amazing!! The outdoor patio is a nice addition because it is pretty small inside. Definitely NOT wheelchair-user friendly as my brother had difficulty maneuvering through the bar. If it was any busier, we would not have been able to stay because there would not have been space for him. Heard the breadsticks are good and there is another pizza on the menu I am excited to try!

I want to like this place. I really do. However, at this point it's got too many strikes against it: Strike 1: Grand Rapids is brewery Mecca. The beers need to be stand-out amazing, and these weren't. Also, when we were there on a Sunday night, they were out of 2/3 of their own brews. Strike 2: If you're going to have a limited food menu, the food better be good. And it's not. The wood-fired pizza was pretty terrible, in fact. The sauce tasted canned, and the crust lacked that smokey crisp that wood-fired should have. Strike 3: Uncomfortable atmosphere lacks cozy charm. Not feelin' the love, Harmony.

Pizza and beer when done well is heavenly, but Harmony isn't quite there. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and cool decor. I wasn't impressed with the wait staff. I've had poor service both times I have gone. The pizza was pretty good with great toppings, but the sauce is too salty and bland (so stay away from the breadsticks). The beer offering has been mediocre. The impression I got was that the head brewers were a couple of guys that have been home brewing for a while so they decided to start a restaurant. If I am going to pay $4 or $5 for a beer I am going to be thinking of Founders or Brewery Vivant. With that said, I would like to go back and see if the restaurant has improved the beer in the future.

It also seems to have a younger crowd (early twenty-somethings) so it can be pretty loud with a lot of over-zealous laughers and talkers. Also, when it is hot out, try to sit downstairs because the upstairs was still sweaty.

Hottest day of the entire summer. Didn't want to go out at all, but I needed a prescription from CVS on Lake Drive; my downstairs neighbor and buddy was happy to take me. What better excuse to treat ourselves to beer and pizza right across the street? Well, it seemed like a practical choice. What ensued was sheer luxury! Jess, at the door, treated us like celebrities; Megan, our server, was sharp-witted, knowledgeable, and just plain genuinely cheerful. (Come to think of it, everyone working there looked happy.) The beer was bliss. The menu itself was "a sight for sore eyes," as people used to say: a model of clarity. Finally, the pizza-- Given the sub-tropical heat and humidity, we opted for a simple pizza margherita + kalamata olives. What a perfect choice. I've been here a couple times now and I have to say the food is pretty solid. But it's not all about the food. It's a funky, fun place with a super great staff eager to please. I hear the beer is pretty decent too...but I'm not that into beer. Hubby likes the Brownson off the tap list. One of my favorite appetizers ever are the bacon nuts. If you're a fan of mixed nuts - or bacon - give these bad boys a try. You won't be sorry, they are served warm and delicious. The bread sticks are really good too, I appreciate the drizzle of balsamic, very different and yummy. I'm a fan of this style of pizza. On the thin side but not super thin that it crunches when you eat it. They have some specialties listed but you also have the option to create your own. One pizza will feed 2, probably with leftovers if you partake of any of the yummy starters. My favorite is the crispy pig which has 3 different kinds of meat, fresh mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. I'm a sucker for fresh basil on pizza. It lightens the whole thing up. Parking can be crazy, and seating is tight and if you're downstairs it's loud. But it's fun and even though the parking can be a pain, you need to go.

Staff: I sat at the bar. The bartender was the nicest guy on the planet. Quick, efficient and made genuine small talk with everyone at the bar. Food: I ordered the crispy pig pizza. So good. Flavor was spot on! The dough was thin but still undercooked. If it stayed in the oven just a little longer it would have been a life changing pizza. Beer: I'm hesitant to rate the beer. I ordered the black ipa. The bartender brought me half a glass...they just ran out. The beer had a funky old taste. I was still charged for the half glass of bottom of the keg beer.

I stopped in on bicycle, and there was a bike rack right out front. Very much a small cafe atmosphere with great patio seating. The wait staff was courteous, friendly, and fun, even though I am not a regular. I tried the Crossroads (AMERICAN RYE) IPA on recommendation, and I second that: great flavor, smooth body, and a clean finish. I had lunch, and tried the wood-fired 12in pizza "hey goat". Excellent thin crust, the right amount of sauce, and the goat cheese tang with the tender sausage was perfectly set off by the herbs to make one outstanding pizza! A little big for 1 person, but get it anyway! Just make some room in the saddlebags, it's worth it. Don't pass up Harmony on your tour of breweries: it's well named, and well worth a visit!

I have only had the beer I can not vouch for the food. The building looks small, but is larger than meets the eye. This is still a smaller pub though. The atmosphere was nice and the servers were all friendly. I was definitely disappointed with the beer, I had a porter not sure what they called it but it just was not that good. I continue to hear other people rave about this place so I think I need to give it a second chance. I will have to go back and get a pizza and maybe a flight of beer. My review may change pending a second visit, I am going to bookmark this place so I remember to go back for a second chance.

This place overall was "A-okay". Definitely not bad, but not memorable/great either in my opinion. We stopped by for lunch during a road trip up to Traverse City. We ordered the crispy pig and the beer cheese with pretzels. After placing the order, we noticed a sign on the wall that stated pizzas were buy one get one half off during lunch time. Sorry, but when you have a deal like that, shouldn't the server mention it? I would have rather tried another pizza than having the appetizer - which was just average. I couldn't taste the beer in the cheese at all, and somehow I expected it would be softer/runnier like dip/fondue but it had a spreadable cheese consistency instead. The pizza itself was also average, but at least the toppings were generous. Since I'm an out of towner, I may not return, but if I were a local, I'd consider giving them another try.

I have been wanting to try this place since it appeared on the best pizza in Michigan list. Tried the crispy pig pizza (pepperoni, prosciutto, basil, and ham) and a grapefruit shandy. The dining experience was excellent. Fast, friendly service, good pizza, and a really good beer. Not sure if it is really the 2nd best pizza in Michigan, but the crust is nice and crispy, the sauce is good, and the meat was good quality. Plus, we were able to eat outside on a beautiful night. Definitely a great fun, summer date night place.

My last review I gave 2 stars, I am upping it to 3 after a second taste. The first time I compared the pizza to costco and that time I ordered a regular pepperoni and sausage. Today I ordered the Crispy Pig and it was much more flavorful. This crust is great, but the sauce is more watery the I prefer. The toppings are fresh. I am comparing it to the other thinner crust pizza in town Fricanos and I find it to be not up to the challenge. Give it a try, may be your thing.

This place was really good! My family comes here for a refreshing pizza and a cold drink. The pizza has fresh cheese and homemade crust that crunches and is salty and amazing. The only thing I am concerned with is the loudness. It is just too loud for any bar type of restaurant. I also think they need to take care of their bee nests. There was a wasp nest right next to where I was sitting and I got stung twice within the same minute. There was also one by by sister and she got stung as well. You are better off ordering from Harmony and sharing it at your house. Much better with no bees or shouting drunk people.

Im Grand Rapids one does not have to sit through mediocre food to get a good beer. I was not impressed with the food at all. They do not have gluten free options and food is just ok. Nothing special. The people I was with said the pizza was good but nothing special. 3/5 pizzas came out burnt. My lemonade swinger tasted like water. The salad I paid $12 for was the only gluten free choice and left me feeling hungry. The beer everyone said was good. The cheese bread sticks were lumpy and soggy. Not a place I will be coming back to. I gave three stars because it was clean, servers were super friendly and accommodating for our large group and the place has a nice ambiance. Your in East Town, please out some gluten free options on your menu. (Fyi, Not why I gave a bad review!) The group of 12 I was with were not impressed with the food they ate and neither was I.

DECENT BEER I came here only for the beer, but I've heard fantastic things about the pizza, so if you're hungry be sure to try some! Overall, the beer I had was good, and the service was fast and efficient. The waitress took our order and came back very quickly. The interior of the place is pretty charming and cozy, and the outdoor seating is nice as well with several umbrellas. The only downside of this location is that there isn't much immediate parking available, nor do they have a lot. Check it out and try some beer and pizza!

I love what these people are trying to do, I just wish they could do it with better food, and servers who speak clearly and maybe smile a little bit. I went in with friends for drinks and appetizers. As a non-beer-drinker I ordered the Vandertini. The name was special, the drink was not. We were all hungry so we opted for pizza instead of just splitting something small. After a long wait it was delivered, with cheese that wasn't even all the way melted. Service was crummy as our server mumbled so badly we could barely understand her. Maybe she asked if we wanted our pizza cold, and we just misunderstood....? It seems our experience was not the norm. Nevertheless, with cocktails that are not yummy, cold pizza, and servers with rocks in their mouths, I see no need to return. There are pizza places that offer good food and good service all over town.

This is currently my favorite brewery in GR. I have another that I really like, whose beer might rank slightly higher, but their food is far less superior to Harmony's so I'd rather just get their beer elsewhere. First of all, beer-wise I suggest the Grand Jollification with Black Rose Tea flavor if you're down. If you just want to put your toe in the water, try it with strawberry instead. Both are fantastic. Add The Good Earth pizza, some great company, and you have a perfect day in my book. Parking could not be any easier--it is stated right in the restaurant that you can park in the back of the CVS lot right across the street. The only issue I have is that the beers mentioned above are not sold to-go, which made us really sad because we were going to buy a growler, go sit on my balcony and have a few more. I don't know if this will change, but it should.

Ugh. The Eggplant pizza is sooo good! I'm so sorry it was only a special for the night! It makes me sorry for all the people to come after me... unless they make it a special again. Then good for you! They didn't skimp on the eggplant, which is a good thing. So many times you'll get a topping or main feature you're excited about, only for them to skimp on the toppings. No such thing here. Thick slices of eggplant on a crispy crust. I almost thought a whole pizza would be too little for two people, but it was really plenty to split between two. The place looks so much smaller than it really is, as there's a dining room in the front and in the back. We sat in the back, which had some quirky fun artwork to admire. the only bad thing was the air was blasting on us. Apparently when we asked the waitress she said they had already turned off the air, so I don't know what happened. But no worries, food was good and that makes up for all!

This is my favorite place to order a pizza, have a beer and maybe a friendly chat with a local. They offer thin crust pizzas from a wood fired oven. From the crispy pig to the amazing slide whistle (vegan, and you'd never guess. No fake cheese or soy substitutes either). My sister and I always split the hot olives to start, and the cheesy bread with a balsamic drizzle and fresh tomato sauce to dip can't be beat!! They recently started offering a lunch menu with sandwiches, and the pork sandwich I tried was above average. I look forward to trying more.

The beers are good and the pizzas are even better. I particularly like the pizza crust as it reminds me of the crust in Italy. It seems like they try to get local ingredients so I liked that as well. The restaurant itself has a pleasant dimly lit atmosphere with some stylish decorations. Apparently they blast 80's records after 9pm on Thursdays. I just moved to Grand Rapids a few months ago and a couple friends came in from out of town. We went to many of the local breweries and this was one of our favorites. The place was fairly priced and the food was really good. We had a couple pizzas and apps. Our favorite beer there was the Fiddlestix IPA. I'm a big IPA fan, and this was a memorable one. I've only lived in GR a few months, but so far this is by far the best pizza and beer joint I've been to in GR.

The place had a good ambience, just a normal brew pub. The only problem (minor) was that there was some kind of a machine that was running and vibrating and made it very loud in the front dining room. My wife was getting a headache by the end. Other than that, great little place.

Stopped in to Harmony on a whim and ended up getting some beer and some bacon nuts. What else? Harmony is a small little pizza joint that seems to be fueled by Grand Rapids regulars. The place is nice, the server was awesome, and the beer was okay. They have a nice little variety of snacks and pizzas, and a small tap list, but that's about all. I hate to say it, but I wouldn't make the trek from Chicago to Grand Rapids just for Harmony, although it's a nice little stop if you're trying out breweries in the area. I also didn't try the pizza, so that may be Harmony's main draw. I don't want to compare it to the many other places I tried in GR, BUT because I went to some amazing places with amazing beer lists, this one was just average beer-wise. Sorry dudes.

We stopped by Harmony Brewing for lunch while on a brewery tour of Grand Rapids. It looks and feels more like a coffee shop in a college town than a bar which was a nice change of pace. It was really bright inside and had eclectic decorations and furniture and was staffed by hippiesh 20 somethings. I found this last detail refreshing after all of the hipsters that packed the other breweries in town. Harmony is known for pizza so we ordered a pork laden pie and breadsticks. The breadsticks were bland and covered in balsamic reduction...not so great but not so bad either. The pizza was good though, the crust was crispy and the various pork toppings delicious. I had a beer brewed with chamomile and a session IPA. It was a little early in the day and I was a little hungover so I may not be giving a fair review of the beers but I just though they were ok. All in all I had a nice time here and would return if I'm ever back in town.

The beers are interesting and really good. I use the word interesting, because the beers I have had from Harmony are unlike any I have had. The flavor combinations are unique and I love what they are doing. They have one of the best Old Fashions I have had as well. So why the just ok? Well, I wish they had more on their food menu. I love their Brussels Sprouts and their pizza, but they could expand their menu a little more. This is another place where it is almost always busy. We almost always expect a wait, no matter the time. The service is also a little slow, because it is always packed. The bar area is also congested so waiting is the only option you have. The beers are worth the wait. The food is good to enjoy while you drink, but I wouldn't go here for the food. I go for the drinks.

Went here on Saturday. This place was pretty cool. They have a grape fruit beer that was like nothing I've ever had before- but in a good way. I got the vanilla porter, which was great. A couple other people in my group got the IPA and were not impressed at all. Perhaps that's something they need to work on. The atmosphere was very hometowny - which I like. Our last stop on our Grand Rapids Brewery tour was Harmony Brewing. This place isn't too big, decent amount of tables and a small bar however it was a Sunday night so we got bar seats. They don't do much merchandise. We didn't eat here but they do serve food. -As for the beer we had the Crossroads Rye-PA it was hoppy I liked it, Golden Lion pale was good, Beach Wedding saison was good, Vanilla Porter was good, Star Stuff Belgium Dubbel was just eh, IPA was decent, and Cavendish strong ale very good. -Not much to say here, really nice place, good beer located in the more downtown area of Grand Rapids and a definite stop if you're doing breweries in Grand Rapids. Giving them four stars based on the experience and the beer, I read food is good so I can't judge that!

What is not to love about Harmony? Every time we come to Grand Rapids, we make it a priority to come here! They have great beer, friendly faces and awesome food. I am not sure why people are complaining about the parking, we have never had a problem. Maybe it's because I am used to parking in Chicago. Nothing wrong with having to walk over to the next street, it will just burn more calories and leave room for some more grapefruit shandy at Harmony!

Went here for the first time and had mixed feelings. First impression: it was small and parking was a bit of a challenge, as it always is on Wealthy. We got the beer cheese dip, pizza and some brews. The beer cheese dip was disappointing - it tasted like that bar cheese you can get at the store. We were expecting more of a hot dish type beer cheese dip. The pizza was excellent - 12 inches and we utilized the create your own pizza to save some coin. The beer was decent but the vanilla porter did not have vanilla taste. The service was poor. Waiter was hardly at out table and gave us way too much time to decide things. Overall, probably worth checking out again in several months time.

One of the most underrated places in Grand Rapids! So far I've tried four of their pizzas, The Good Earth, Bobbie-Q, Hawaiian Pork, and The Herbert. They were all great, but the Good Earth and Bobbie-Q blew my mind. Their breadsticks & bacon nuts are also fantastic. The beer is awesome, they don't distribute their beer so unless you live on the East side of Grand Rapids not a lot of people know about Harmony. It's a MUST in my book.

Stopped in for lunch, got menus, and sat, and waited, and sat some more, then finally the waitress came for our order. A table full of people left because nobody came to take their order. I was worried we had made a big mistake but the food came quickly and was excellent! Pizza was delicious, pulled pork sandwich was some of the best pulled pork we have ever tasted, and the seasoned wheat beer was fantastic. The wait is definitely worth it!

Awesome local craft brewery! Great classic style beers and an ever-growing collection of collaborations and imaginative brews. The pizza here is some of the best in Grand Rapids. Exciting options, thin crust and awesome ingredients (The Aloha Goat is my current fave). Locally minded and kid friendly menu options. They also have local ciders, some liquors, sandwiches, and a patio. Only a couple of tables setup for large groups but a lot of seating for 2-4 (6 if you're really friendly).

Came here after I tried to visit Founders. Founders was closed for a private party. This place is neat in that it is in an area trying to be really artsy.... It's also somewhat residential and parking can be dificult. I just had some time to kill so I tried at a beer at their bar. I asked how the "Cranberry wheat" was and the bartender/waitress said there was more wheat than cranberry and gave me a sample. She didn't have too much to say. The beer was refreshing and not too heavy,so I ordered a pint and sat at the bar and read a magazine. My only problem was that while I was the bar no one asked me if I wanted another drink or a snack or wanted to cash out... When I took a $20 bill out of my wallet and kind of waved it around they got the hit I wanted to leave and took an interest in me. I've been to a lot of breweries in the great state of Michigan and I kind of get the impression they are trying to be too trendy. Sorry. Michigan has earned a reputation as a big beer state and Grand Rapids has gotten to be known as a beer city. Maybe a little less focus on being hipster and a little more focus on your beer would help.

First check in and first to review! Yeeah! Harmony Brewing is a long time coming and I'm excited to see it open! The brewery is cozy and deceptively larger than it looks from the outside. The tables themselves are wide and the benches look big. There is a smaller upstairs eating area as well as a larger-ish main/downstairs area. I was greeted by a friendly hostess at the door and since I was already meeting people, I went to my table in the back upstairs area. The wait for a table didn't look too long and there is a bar area to sit at if you do need to wait and order a drink. The menu is just pizza and beer (as of today. Not sure if they have plans to expand the menu). I didn't have pizza during my visit, but it looks and smells amazing. I hope someone will write a review of it! My group sampled all the beers and some of the wines and found them all tasty. I'm not a beer or wine connoisseur so I'll leave that review another person, but sufficient to say, the drinks were enjoyed by all. The atmosphere was pleasant and upbeat. The clientele ranged from 20-something hipsters to local couples to families with elementary aged kids. Seems like a nice place for a date, lunch, or causal dinner and drinks with friends. I don't see this becoming a rowdy, open-late, everyone-gets-smashed type of place. A unique concept that they have is that you can look down into the brewery from the upstairs area. My only complaint is that the windows looking down into the brew area aren't very large, and frankly, it's not that interesting of a view, but it's still something that makes it a little different. All-in-all, very happy with it and excited to go back!

Really good beer...really good pizza....funky atmosphere and attitude...what more could you ask for? This place would be a natural to be on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives as it is Guy's kind of place. Surprising little brew pub in Eastown on Lake just south of Wealthy. I tried a 5 beer sampler. They don't make a true "Amber" beer which is my favorite but all 5 of the beers I tried were good. I can't remember all the funny names but they were all good. I really liked the "Oh Be Joyful" Cranberry Wheat beer in the absence of an amber. The pizza...awesome. We had the "Crispy Pig" pizza which is 4 pork products. Our friends had a "Special" B.A.T. pizza that was basically a BLT on a pizza crust with Bacon, Arugula and Thick Sliced Tomato on a pizza crust. And speaking of pizza crust...the crust is awesome which always makes for a great pizza no matter what you are topping it with. If you don't like their combo's you can "Build Your Own" from their list of ingredients so there is a pizza for everyone at Harmony. We had the breadsticks app which is not like people expect until you have had their pizza because it is their thin pizza crust cut into strips and topped with Balsamic Vinegar. It was great. We did not have a sandwich but they looked great going past us to other tables. It is hard for me to give 5 Stars to a pizza/brewpub since I typically associate that with the top fine dining establishments but for a pizza/brewpub...THIS IS DEFINATELY A 5 Star joint! Parking is typical Eastown so don't get all snippy and ding them for that. Just find a place and enjoy the heck out of their food and beer!

A true gem. I had the Grapefruit IPA and my Husband had a seasonal brew, he loved his and I enjoyed mine, but it was a little too grapefruit and not enough hops for me, but that didn't stop me from finishing it :-) I spotted the BeerRita cocktail on their menu, and had to have it. It was fantastic. We scarfed down a salad and the Eastown Folk Funk pizza. Very Very Very Fresh, in fact they note the local vendors of their ingredients on the menu. A place I could lose track of time, while enjoying original culinary crafts, both food and drink.

Delicious thin crust (wood fired i believe) pizza. Just had the Bobbi-Q with pulled pork an bacon and BBQ sauce. Also love the Good Earth which has balsamic vinegar on it (surprisingly delicious!) and jarlsburg cheese and other yummy roasted/carmelized veggies. Also had the Grapefruit IPA Shandy (it's mixed pleasantly with orange soda I do believe!) and the boyfriend had the Gingerbread Man Nut Brown, which was quite good with a very subtle spice flavor. They also have great music playing every time we go, rather eclectic variety that should please anyone. Went on a Saturday at dinner time and were seated right away, though it was pretty full, got our beers fast, our pizza quicker than expected, and our waters stayed full. They don't always have this fantastic of service, but never terrible. Probably my favorite GR brewery (which is a pretty hefty statement!) based on food, culture, and of course beer. Founders is great too, but Harmony has more soul.

I have lived in Grand Rapids now for over a year. All of our friends were telling me to try Harmony Brewing, so I finally went this Thursday evening with my wife. First impressions, very very small.There was a 15 minute wait for a table which I had no problem with so I headed to the bar. Trouble with the bar is that it was so tiny and with no seats available I had to stand behind people who were sitting and I just found myself in the way of foodrunners and the hostess and generally everyone. After a few awkward minutes of standing I did manage to get a seat with my wife at the bar. The service from the male bartender with the cap was very good, and we both liked our beer. After about 20 minutes the hostess told me that my table was ready, so I grabbed our beers and sat down. This is where things went downhill very very quickly. Our waitress came over, she was of medium height with bangs. She never gave us her name because I suppose she just couldn't be bothered and probably too cool for us as I was wearing a tweeds sports jacket. We proceeded to order the breadsticks and the 'Roasted' bacon nuts as an appetizer and a pizza as our entree. Someone other than the waitress delivered the appetizers. Normally when appetizers are dropped off by someone other than your waitress it is pretty common that your waitress then checks in on you after a few minutes and sees if you have everything and if everything is tasting okay. Well not our waitress. An elapsed time of about 10 minutes passed and we had to ask the hostess to send our waitress over. It took a good five minutes for her to show up after that. At this point the restaurant was actually dying down as well so it did not look too busy. Our problem was not with the breadsticks but with the 'Roasted' bacon nuts. When one gets something that's roasted, you expect them to be roasted. What was delivered (and I am not joking here) was a bowl with about 3 inches of grease. We only found this out after we've eaten the top layer, and discovered the bottom layer swimming in grease. So the waitress finally comes over. I joked to her that I thought I had ordered roasted nuts, not the spillage from the Deep Water Horizon accident. She snatched the plate, and when I mean snatched, I mean she actually snatched the plate from my hand and then she barked at me like a Standartenfuhrer saying she will take them off our bill. I didn't get the opportunity to ask if they would replace them as she marched off nuts in hand, eyes rolling as she showed her coworker the nuts. My pizza was then dumped on the table by someone other than our waitress. The pizza was good, but trying to cut through it with the blunt cutlery supplied was like trying to cut through a tree trunk with a butter knife. I've had sharper plastic cutlery than that. We finished our meal with no one checking in on us at all until we'd finish when we asked for the bill. Even when our waitress came to collect our bill our waitress never even asked if we'd enjoyed anything. I can tell you now that people arriving in prison for the first day had a better experience than my first time at Harmony Brewing. Needless to say I will never be back there as I have always tipped 20% and more, and if my money is not good enough for Harmony Brewing than I will take my money elsewhere. I urge everyone to do the same. If they want to act like they are too cool for school I suggest no one attends their school. This is my first Yelp review and I've been driven to it as when I left Harmony Brewing I left really furious. And me venting my anger at the waitress in question would have only been a scene, and granted she never turned up after me paying the bill anyway.

So when do you get told to go to a Brewery for something other than their beer? When 15 people tell you to go to Harmony Brewing Co for some of the best pizza in Grand Rapids! I love their pizza style, thin and crispy crust, wood fire oven pizza with simple, well thought out toppings. My date and I tried The Good Earth and The Herbert and we really enjoyed both. The Good Earth really had a good balance between the sweetness of the balsamic reduction and the mushrooms/jarlsberg cheese with basil keeping it extremely fresh. The Herbert was actually our bartender's suggestion and I'm glad I tried it. Spinach, goat cheese, prosciutto and basalmic reduction were the main stays and it was pleasant. Overall, the real star is their crust. So simple, we were told it is a combination of only salt, water, and flour. It was so crispy and cooked to perfection, crunchy on the outside and just the right amount of chew to the middle. I am also a large fan of this atmosphere. Really small and quaint, it just makes you feel like you're in a neighborhood hang out joint. A good switch from the maximized interiors built for table turns and packing in guests (don't get me wrong, this place is usually packed). Great place and good beer. Perfect for a relaxed evening with close friends or beautiful women who like beer and pizza (sorry, they do not supply the close friends or the beautiful women...)

Really great service AND food = all you can ask for. My boyfriend and I couldn't be happier with our first experience at Harmony last night. First off, our server Alli was fantastic. Extremely charming, friendly and helpful. She made you feel like she wanted you there and was eager to answer questions about the drink and food menu, etc. Positive energy = positive experience! The food was delicious. Breadsticks with basil and balsamic is where it's at. We tried the "Herbert" pizza which was equally impressive. I can tell anything on the menu would be great though, just by the quality/execution of what we ordered. I'm not a beer expert but they have tons of options (including Vandermill cider which kept me happy.) We'll be back- often. A really great addition to Eastown!

We had bread sticks and cappreze salad for an appetiser. Both were good but i loved the bread sticks. Some sort of balsamic reduction was drizzled on it and was excellent as was the pizza. This little place has fantastic beer, and some of the best pizza in town. It's small, so expect the possibility of no seating. The whole place seats maybe 20. That said, it's still on of my favorite places in all of Grand Rapids, and if I had to choose only one place to drink, or join a mug club, this would be it. Try their shandy.

I cannot possibly say enough positive things about Harmony. I am a huge beer/ brewery fan, have been to quite a few, and lived in GR for years, and this continues to be my favorite spot hands-down. The beer, the food, the atmosphere, and the service have never disappointed me. There is always a new and delicious beer to try, so I recommend asking for a sample or getting a flight. The staff has always been helpful in describing the beer and clearly enjoy their products. They do offer a full bar and a great cocktail list. The Lemony Snicket cocktail is excellent. You can definitely bring non-beer drinkers here and they will be satisfied. For food, the main offering is wood-fired pizza, but now they offer soup, salad, and sandwiches at lunch. On my last visit, a Sunday lunch, I had their salad + personal pizza offering, which was great. I got a side salad with balsamic vinagairette and a "personal" pizza, which I took half home- it was generous. I highly recommend the cheese sticks for an appetizer, which have a tasty balsamic reduction on them. They also offer seasonal food specials and definitely focus on local sources, which is awesome. The only slight downside that some may find is that it's a small location, so it can get quite crowded at peak times, and in the winter the front room can get chilly with the door opening and closing all night. Personally, I think everything else more than makes up for that. I don't love crowded places, so I always attempt to visit on off-peak hours, but I have waited for a seat before and it's worth it. Absolutely do not pass up visiting Harmony if you're in the area!

I was part of a party of 8. The wait wasn't too long for Saturday night during a beer week. We sat down at the bar to get drinks to start off. The bartender wasn't the friendliest- When a friend asked about drink specials, he kinda snapped "they're on the board" and pointed to the beer choices. She was referring to their mixed drink specials, which we found about once we got to our table (there was a display on the table listing them) Our server was great. She handled everything well. I had a Harmony salad that had sesame sticks, sunflower seeds, and cranberries. It was AWESOME! A great mix of greens and those flavors really made it special. I had the crusty pig pizza which was also good. However, my husband had picked the winning pizza- it was the special so I don't remember the name- but it had a garlic base and arugula. I would go back for pizza again!

Honestly? I've only been to Harmony twice, and this very recent time I was totally unimpressed. My friend insisted we go for the pizza, which was decent...I got the special, which was way too expensive for the simple ingredients, but delicious. We got absolutely no information on specials, or any of the beer for that matter. I ordered the seasonal gingerbread brown ale, which was smooth, spiced just right, and very drinkable. Uninterested and unhelpful servers are my main complaint here. It was dead, which should lead to higher attentiveness to your tables in general. Instead? No personality or conversation, and after we finished one round of water and beer, our glasses sat empty the entire rest of the time. Also, when you're that dead? Word of advice--don't complain constantly of how bored you are and that you should be home already. We were sitting there overhearing it all, and still weren't well taken care of.

Only one visit and I love this place. The beer was great, the pizza was awesome and they have hot bacon nuts. And they stock half growlers for take-home beer. The vanilla porter was fantastic, and the cherry bitters aged vanilla porter was mind blowing. they have some great sounding beer and cider based drinks and beer and cider classes on Sundays. The environment is very comfortable and laid back with a nice porch area outside. The day I was there they were playing a fun mix of '80s and '90s music, lots of fun. The service was friendly and attentive. If I lived in the area I am sure I would spend plenty of time savoring the beer and good eats here.

Relatively new business in Eastown - definitely worth a visit! The pizza is thin crust. The sauce is on the sweet side, and they have enjoyable flavors. I had a great experience at Harmony. I wasn't sure what to expect, just went because it was convenient on our brewery tour weekend. I'm really glad we went. Had the sampler, which was a good price. The beers were all pretty good. The most interesting thing I tried was the shandy made with their IPA and grapefruit juice. Didn't expect to like it, but I did. Didn't have food while here, but it looked good. The staff was really friendly. I had a great time hanging out going through my sampler.

Harmony is great. This place is exactly what I would look for in a local watering hole. the beer itself isn't anything super special but it's not bad either. the stand out to me was the green tea pale. I could see myself drinking it out on the porch winding down from a long day of work. the pizza can only be described as fantastical. We had the Handsome Ben which was arugula, goat cheese and prosciutto. Just phenomenal. There were a few more pizzas on the menu I want to try as well. What sold me though was the space. Kind of cramped, seemed like it was shoddily renovated and really "homey". Harmony seemed like the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else and it's where all your friends go to hang out. Also, every server looks like Zooey Daschanel. Check out Harmony if you get the chance or let this place be my little secret.

I understand that this place is pretty new and I say that they are off to a great start! The pizza is yummy and they have a nice variety of beer that they brew. I got the sampler and found that some of the styles that I don't typically like (Shandy and Wheat) were both quite enjoyable. I found them refreshing and was really glad to have tried a variety of Harmony's brews. We tried 3 pizzas at the table- they are thin crust and so you don't leave feeling overwhelmed and super full. All of the ingredients tasted fresh and the flavors on the pizzas were well balanced. We started with the cheddar ale soup and it is NOT TO BE MISSED!!! So good! They have a lunch special that one of our friends got and it was an excellent deal- $8 for a personal sized calzone with 3 fillings, a cup of soup. Can't beat it for the taste and the value.

The first time I visited, shortly after they first opened I was not impressed, but that was because they were not prepared for how busy they ended up being. After visiting again recently, I was more impressed, as they had about 7 or 8 of their beers on tap, and the atmosphere was much more relaxing. Their beer is unique and they range in types of styles. If you love grapefruit, try their shandy. They have some great quality beers on tap. They remind me a little bit like homebrewed beer, probably due to them brewing on a small scale. Definitely worth a try, get the sampler! Recently tried their pizza, and their toppings are great, but there isn't much flavor to the crust. Also, they ID everyone. So don't even try going here if you don't have your ID or you are underage. They wouldn't serve my 35-year-old friend who forgot his ID. He got to try their root beer, though, which was very good. :)

This place is awesome! They have my favorite restaurant/bar pizza so far in G-Rap mainly because of how fresh the ingredients are. The breadsticks are also quite tasty. My boyfriend liked the beers, and they have a good assortment of light cocktails that are refreshing. The place is pretty tiny, so make sure you get in early to beat the dinner rush. However, it's well worth the wait, and we'll definitely be back.

Best pizza in GR with quality beer to pair. Fresh ingredients with light, fresh tomato sauce. I enjoyed a couple IPAs before our food arrived in a prompt manner. Only negative.....service. Was difficult (i.e. never happened) to get bartenders to serve us a beer and when server came they were not able to explain some of the Belgian beers that we were not familiar with. Maybe we caught the service at a bad time, because they were pleasant the rest of the night.....just not great customer service to start the night. Now that they've worked out some amateur opening week glitches, I have good things to say about Harmony Brewing Of course the best thing is that they are right in my neighborhood - we needed that! A few days in, I had a pizza with lousy sauce - almost wrote them off. Now its yummy. The pizzas are all about the yeasty taste of the dough and the fitting mix of the toppings - good enough to pull me in more often than I should go. After being unimpressed by the first few brews I had, I am now raving about both the Dubbel and and the "Daydream Believer" Stout (RIP, D.J.). The breadsticks w cheese are completely addictive and perhaps one of the few perfect foods I've had in GR. Just saying.

Harmony keeps getting better, they take risks with the beer and keep changing it up, if you want a taste they give you a taste without charging you like many other places in town. The service is now at a high level, they have a crew that clearly likes working there and that shows, I didn't always feel that way in the first few months. Like all places that are not mediocre it won't be for everyone but its not trying to be. If you like some experiementation in your life, a different beer each visit (yes, some will be better than others but that helps you learn what you like) beer passionate but not beer snob crew with v good pizzas its worth a visit or two or even more.

I was quite impressed by the Star Stuff Belgian ale. I am not usually a fan of Belgian ales, so this was a nice surprise. The food was also good. The Americana music was also excellent. I enjoyed my cheesy breadsticks. With that said, the service was poor and the place smelled pretty bad.

After a long day on the ski slopes of Caberfae, 3 of us were drying to fuel our bodies with some delicious pizza and micro-brewed beer. After a quick search on the nets we decided to check out Harmony. After entering the restaurant, we were quickly greeted by the hostess and taken to our booth. The place had a really nice and welcoming atmosphere with dimly lit booths and pleasant wall decorations. You could see just about every age group eating and enjoying themselves. We even saw a dad and his two little ones picking on pepperoni off their pizzas. After a short wait, our server came with the menu. The drinks menu had variety of beers and cocktails listed. Since we were interested in beer, we took a note of their selection which consisted of Stouts, Brown ales, Shandy, Belgian, and even Root Beer. We ordered the Imperial Stout, the IPA, and a root beer. The Stout tasted of dark chocolate while the IPA was made with spicy rye with piney, resiny hops. I'm sorry to say but I was just not very impressed. The beers did seem like they were made with effort but they just lacked characters and something just tasted a little off. Root beer actually tasted really good and is recommended for non-beer drinkers. For the pizza, we ordered "The Good Earth" which came with Spinach, mushrooms, caramelized onions, Jarlsberg cheese, balsamic, and fresh basil. We also got the "Hey Goat!" which came with Sausage, goat cheese, and fresh basil. I have to say that I was floored by how delicious and amazing both pizzas were. They had a really nice crispy crust and the ingredients tasted very fresh. You could really taste the glory of Goat Cheese and the aroma of sausage with every bite. The seasonings were perfect and not overdone and all the ingredients were chosen to work together. I was a little bit underwhelmed by the beer selection but I give thumbs up to their pizza fare. One advice to Harmony would be to relocate the sad and gloomy high table that's located to the right of the entrance door. Nobody likes to be surrounded by 3 sides of the wall without a view of the outside.

This small brewery/cafe is a nice addition to the Eastown scene. The atmosphere was a mix of younger college kids to parents with their kids. It's small and for me and a little congested, especially since the workers had to carry 50 lb. bags of flour through the dining area. I personally don't like being seated at such a small cafe. Just let me sit where I please. The beers were decent, with the brown ale being my favorite. I talked to one of the owners for a short amount of time, and he was very friendly and said their working out some kinks on their new system. So in time I believe their beers will get better, not that they're bad but they're not awesome either (blame Founder's and Bell's for giving west Michigan a spoiled palate). Pizzas look good but did not have one. Had the breadsticks and I wasn't a huge fan of them. I don't mind different but at least make them interesting. Regardless of some flaws it's great to see this small brewery in Eastown. Hopefully more will open in neighborhoods around the city.

Not the best beer place we've been to. Went in for the Honey Whitehouse (or something like that) and they were out. Decided on a flight sampler and left most beers set. They just didn't taste great, To us. The beer cheese soup was pretty good, though. Parking is hectic.

quick sum: good beer- service a bit odd... We hit harmony for a quick pint- the beer was surprisingly good- while we were there it was not too busy, the worker to customer ratio was about 3 to 1... workers seemed to be everywhere...not really working but instead admiring themselves & how truly cool they were... hopefully that works itself out- as the beer is well crafted enough to warrant another visit! Also, kudos to whomever negotiated the architectural/size challenges of the existing building when creating this brewery- great aesthetic sensibility- it feels much larger than it is & the place looks great!

I've heard the pizza is delicious so I was excited to get the opportunity to grab dinner the other night. I had the Sour Cherry beer, which was delicious. My mom had the Farmhouse Ale, which was pretty mild. I ordered the Herbert pizza, which is a no red sauce pizza with goat cheese, prosciutto, and spinach. It was amazing!! The outdoor patio is a nice addition because it is pretty small inside. Definitely NOT wheelchair-user friendly as my brother had difficulty maneuvering through the bar. If it was any busier, we would not have been able to stay because there would not have been space for him. Heard the breadsticks are good and there is another pizza on the menu I am excited to try!

I want to like this place. I really do. However, at this point it's got too many strikes against it: Strike 1: Grand Rapids is brewery Mecca. The beers need to be stand-out amazing, and these weren't. Also, when we were there on a Sunday night, they were out of 2/3 of their own brews. Strike 2: If you're going to have a limited food menu, the food better be good. And it's not. The wood-fired pizza was pretty terrible, in fact. The sauce tasted canned, and the crust lacked that smokey crisp that wood-fired should have. Strike 3: Uncomfortable atmosphere lacks cozy charm. Not feelin' the love, Harmony.

Pizza and beer when done well is heavenly, but Harmony isn't quite there. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and cool decor. I wasn't impressed with the wait staff. I've had poor service both times I have gone. The pizza was pretty good with great toppings, but the sauce is too salty and bland (so stay away from the breadsticks). The beer offering has been mediocre. The impression I got was that the head brewers were a couple of guys that have been home brewing for a while so they decided to start a restaurant. If I am going to pay $4 or $5 for a beer I am going to be thinking of Founders or Brewery Vivant. With that said, I would like to go back and see if the restaurant has improved the beer in the future.

The beer was very safe. Middle of the road, appeals to all. All of it seems to be well made and refreshing. The pizza was excellent and I would certainly go back for it. It also seems to have a younger crowd (early twenty-somethings) so it can be pretty loud with a lot of over-zealous laughers and talkers. Also, when it is hot out, try to sit downstairs because the upstairs was still sweaty.

it's a nice place. very first date appropriate. honestly I didn't care for the beer all that much (had a flight). would go again if someone else wanted to. they also serve cocktails for the people who don't like beer. the pizza was good, not great, but solid.

Hottest day of the entire summer. Didn't want to go out at all, but I needed a prescription from CVS on Lake Drive; my downstairs neighbor and buddy was happy to take me. What better excuse to treat ourselves to beer and pizza right across the street? Well, it seemed like a practical choice. What ensued was sheer luxury! Jess, at the door, treated us like celebrities; Megan, our server, was sharp-witted, knowledgeable, and just plain genuinely cheerful. (Come to think of it, everyone working there looked happy.) The beer was bliss. The menu itself was "a sight for sore eyes," as people used to say: a model of clarity. Finally, the pizza-- Given the sub-tropical heat and humidity, we opted for a simple pizza margherita + kalamata olives. What a perfect choice. The fresh basil, in particular, had me closing my eyes and savoring every bite. I am posting this review out of gratitude. Thank you, Harmony.

I've been here a couple times now and I have to say the food is pretty solid. But it's not all about the food. It's a funky, fun place with a super great staff eager to please. I hear the beer is pretty decent too...but I'm not that into beer. Hubby likes the Brownson off the tap list. One of my favorite appetizers ever are the bacon nuts. If you're a fan of mixed nuts - or bacon - give these bad boys a try. You won't be sorry, they are served warm and delicious. The bread sticks are really good too, I appreciate the drizzle of balsamic, very different and yummy. I'm a fan of this style of pizza. On the thin side but not super thin that it crunches when you eat it. They have some specialties listed but you also have the option to create your own. One pizza will feed 2, probably with leftovers if you partake of any of the yummy starters. My favorite is the crispy pig which has 3 different kinds of meat, fresh mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. I'm a sucker for fresh basil on pizza. It lightens the whole thing up. Parking can be crazy, and seating is tight and if you're downstairs it's loud. But it's fun and even though the parking can be a pain, you need to go.

Staff: I sat at the bar. The bartender was the nicest guy on the planet. Quick, efficient and made genuine small talk with everyone at the bar. Food: I ordered the crispy pig pizza. So good. Flavor was spot on! The dough was thin but still undercooked. If it stayed in the oven just a little longer it would have been a life changing pizza. Beer: I'm hesitant to rate the beer. I ordered the black ipa. The bartender brought me half a glass...they just ran out. The beer had a funky old taste. I was still charged for the half glass of bottom of the keg beer.

I stopped in on bicycle, and there was a bike rack right out front. Very much a small cafe atmosphere with great patio seating. The wait staff was courteous, friendly, and fun, even though I am not a regular. I tried the Crossroads (AMERICAN RYE) IPA on recommendation, and I second that: great flavor, smooth body, and a clean finish. I had lunch, and tried the wood-fired 12in pizza "hey goat". Excellent thin crust, the right amount of sauce, and the goat cheese tang with the tender sausage was perfectly set off by the herbs to make one outstanding pizza! A little big for 1 person, but get it anyway! Just make some room in the saddlebags, it's worth it. Don't pass up Harmony on your tour of breweries: it's well named, and well worth a visit!

I have only had the beer I can not vouch for the food. The building looks small, but is larger than meets the eye. This is still a smaller pub though. The atmosphere was nice and the servers were all friendly. I was definitely disappointed with the beer, I had a porter not sure what they called it but it just was not that good. I continue to hear other people rave about this place so I think I need to give it a second chance. I will have to go back and get a pizza and maybe a flight of beer. My review may change pending a second visit, I am going to bookmark this place so I remember to go back for a second chance.

This place overall was "A-okay". Definitely not bad, but not memorable/great either in my opinion. We stopped by for lunch during a road trip up to Traverse City. We ordered the crispy pig and the beer cheese with pretzels. After placing the order, we noticed a sign on the wall that stated pizzas were buy one get one half off during lunch time. Sorry, but when you have a deal like that, shouldn't the server mention it? I would have rather tried another pizza than having the appetizer - which was just average. I couldn't taste the beer in the cheese at all, and somehow I expected it would be softer/runnier like dip/fondue but it had a spreadable cheese consistency instead. The pizza itself was also average, but at least the toppings were generous. Since I'm an out of towner, I may not return, but if I were a local, I'd consider giving them another try.

I have been wanting to try this place since it appeared on the best pizza in Michigan list. Tried the crispy pig pizza (pepperoni, prosciutto, basil, and ham) and a grapefruit shandy. The dining experience was excellent. Fast, friendly service, good pizza, and a really good beer. Not sure if it is really the 2nd best pizza in Michigan, but the crust is nice and crispy, the sauce is good, and the meat was good quality. Plus, we were able to eat outside on a beautiful night. Definitely a great fun, summer date night place.

My last review I gave 2 stars, I am upping it to 3 after a second taste. The first time I compared the pizza to costco and that time I ordered a regular pepperoni and sausage. Today I ordered the Crispy Pig and it was much more flavorful. This crust is great, but the sauce is more watery the I prefer. The toppings are fresh. I am comparing it to the other thinner crust pizza in town Fricanos and I find it to be not up to the challenge. Give it a try, may be your thing.

This place was really good! My family comes here for a refreshing pizza and a cold drink. The pizza has fresh cheese and homemade crust that crunches and is salty and amazing. The only thing I am concerned with is the loudness. It is just too loud for any bar type of restaurant. I also think they need to take care of their bee nests. There was a wasp nest right next to where I was sitting and I got stung twice within the same minute. There was also one by by sister and she got stung as well. You are better off ordering from Harmony and sharing it at your house. Much better with no bees or shouting drunk people.

Im Grand Rapids one does not have to sit through mediocre food to get a good beer. I was not impressed with the food at all. They do not have gluten free options and food is just ok. Nothing special. The people I was with said the pizza was good but nothing special. 3/5 pizzas came out burnt. My lemonade swinger tasted like water. The salad I paid $12 for was the only gluten free choice and left me feeling hungry. The beer everyone said was good. The cheese bread sticks were lumpy and soggy. Not a place I will be coming back to. I gave three stars because it was clean, servers were super friendly and accommodating for our large group and the place has a nice ambiance. Your in East Town, please out some gluten free options on your menu. (Fyi, Not why I gave a bad review!) The group of 12 I was with were not impressed with the food they ate and neither was I.

Hands down the best pizza in West Michigan, if not the whole state. The Margarita is in the ballpark of the best in Naples. The breadsticks are also phenomenal. The beer is good. Like most small micros they are experimental, and all aren't home runs, but I've never been served anything unpalatable.

DECENT BEER I came here only for the beer, but I've heard fantastic things about the pizza, so if you're hungry be sure to try some! Overall, the beer I had was good, and the service was fast and efficient. The waitress took our order and came back very quickly. The interior of the place is pretty charming and cozy, and the outdoor seating is nice as well with several umbrellas. The only downside of this location is that there isn't much immediate parking available, nor do they have a lot. Check it out and try some beer and pizza!

I particularly liked the old diner vibe in here. I would definitely recommend the bread sticks, mmmm that balsamic drizzle! And the bobbiQ pizza was delicious. Mike was a very attentive and friendly server who chatted about brewing with us and let us take a quick peak at the system. Only tried one beer, the lil leprechaun which was good. I wish I didn't get so full on food because I would have liked to try more. Next time I come to Grand Rapids, I would probably return.

This place had a great vibe when we 1st walked in, the 80's theme was awesome , the staff was great and the beers were amazing. I had the 3 stouts and each stout was better then the next one, definitely a place u want to visit for beer drinkers around the world. However they do sell growlers as well pint glasses.

I love what these people are trying to do, I just wish they could do it with better food, and servers who speak clearly and maybe smile a little bit. I went in with friends for drinks and appetizers. As a non-beer-drinker I ordered the Vandertini. The name was special, the drink was not. We were all hungry so we opted for pizza instead of just splitting something small. After a long wait it was delivered, with cheese that wasn't even all the way melted. Service was crummy as our server mumbled so badly we could barely understand her. Maybe she asked if we wanted our pizza cold, and we just misunderstood....? It seems our experience was not the norm. Nevertheless, with cocktails that are not yummy, cold pizza, and servers with rocks in their mouths, I see no need to return. There are pizza places that offer good food and good service all over town.

We went to this place because they had Vegan options. We were not disappointed. The experienece was great. Music was great. Food was excellent! Beer was excellent too. It's busy though. Expect to wait. That wait though, totally worth it.

Love this place!! Came on a Friday night for drinks, came back on Saturday for lunch. Some of the best pizza I've had this far in the mitten! Had the crispy pig pizza and the harmony salad, both two thumbs up. Had a great selection of house brews, and home infused cocktails.

Great food and beers! We got the "hey goat pizza" and cheesy bread, both of which were incredibly delicious. They allowed our golden retriever to sit on the patio with us and brought her a water dish. Overall excellent time.

This is currently my favorite brewery in GR. I have another that I really like, whose beer might rank slightly higher, but their food is far less superior to Harmony's so I'd rather just get their beer elsewhere. First of all, beer-wise I suggest the Grand Jollification with Black Rose Tea flavor if you're down. If you just want to put your toe in the water, try it with strawberry instead. Both are fantastic. Add The Good Earth pizza, some great company, and you have a perfect day in my book. Parking could not be any easier--it is stated right in the restaurant that you can park in the back of the CVS lot right across the street. The only issue I have is that the beers mentioned above are not sold to-go, which made us really sad because we were going to buy a growler, go sit on my balcony and have a few more. I don't know if this will change, but it should.

Ugh. The Eggplant pizza is sooo good! I'm so sorry it was only a special for the night! It makes me sorry for all the people to come after me... unless they make it a special again. Then good for you! They didn't skimp on the eggplant, which is a good thing. So many times you'll get a topping or main feature you're excited about, only for them to skimp on the toppings. No such thing here. Thick slices of eggplant on a crispy crust. I almost thought a whole pizza would be too little for two people, but it was really plenty to split between two. The place looks so much smaller than it really is, as there's a dining room in the front and in the back. We sat in the back, which had some quirky fun artwork to admire. the only bad thing was the air was blasting on us. Apparently when we asked the waitress she said they had already turned off the air, so I don't know what happened. But no worries, food was good and that makes up for all!

Absolutely love Harmony. The beer menu provides an excellent blend of options for any beer drinker - and the pizzas are made with fresh, high quality ingredients which is the difference maker for me. Try the "pig" pizza is rich in flavor and very tasty! Atmosphere of this place is a 10. True gem of east town and GR.

This is my favorite place to order a pizza, have a beer and maybe a friendly chat with a local. They offer thin crust pizzas from a wood fired oven. From the crispy pig to the amazing slide whistle (vegan, and you'd never guess. No fake cheese or soy substitutes either). My sister and I always split the hot olives to start, and the cheesy bread with a balsamic drizzle and fresh tomato sauce to dip can't be beat!! They recently started offering a lunch menu with sandwiches, and the pork sandwich I tried was above average. I look forward to trying more.

The beers are good and the pizzas are even better. I particularly like the pizza crust as it reminds me of the crust in Italy. It seems like they try to get local ingredients so I liked that as well. The restaurant itself has a pleasant dimly lit atmosphere with some stylish decorations. Apparently they blast 80's records after 9pm on Thursdays. Makes it hard to have a conversation, but not a deal breaker. As for service, I'd say it was average. No major complaints.

I just moved to Grand Rapids a few months ago and a couple friends came in from out of town. We went to many of the local breweries and this was one of our favorites. The place was fairly priced and the food was really good. We had a couple pizzas and apps. Our favorite beer there was the Fiddlestix IPA. I'm a big IPA fan, and this was a memorable one. I've only lived in GR a few months, but so far this is by far the best pizza and beer joint I've been to in GR.

It looks like most of this has been adequately covered in other reviews. The pizza is great, and the beer is good. I had the Heather Ale which was unique and delicious and I"m craving it now. The place had a good ambience, just a normal brew pub. The only problem (minor) was that there was some kind of a machine that was running and vibrating and made it very loud in the front dining room. My wife was getting a headache by the end. Other than that, great little place.

Stopped in to Harmony on a whim and ended up getting some beer and some bacon nuts. What else? Harmony is a small little pizza joint that seems to be fueled by Grand Rapids regulars. The place is nice, the server was awesome, and the beer was okay. They have a nice little variety of snacks and pizzas, and a small tap list, but that's about all. I hate to say it, but I wouldn't make the trek from Chicago to Grand Rapids just for Harmony, although it's a nice little stop if you're trying out breweries in the area. I also didn't try the pizza, so that may be Harmony's main draw. I don't want to compare it to the many other places I tried in GR, BUT because I went to some amazing places with amazing beer lists, this one was just average beer-wise. Sorry dudes.

This place has an incredible ambiance and a just a great vibe. The pizza is great and they have vegan options. The beer is excellent too. Like others have said, expect to wait. It's worth it. This is a perfect neighborhood bar/pub/pizza joint.

We stopped by Harmony Brewing for lunch while on a brewery tour of Grand Rapids. It looks and feels more like a coffee shop in a college town than a bar which was a nice change of pace. It was really bright inside and had eclectic decorations and furniture and was staffed by hippiesh 20 somethings. I found this last detail refreshing after all of the hipsters that packed the other breweries in town. Harmony is known for pizza so we ordered a pork laden pie and breadsticks. The breadsticks were bland and covered in balsamic reduction...not so great but not so bad either. The pizza was good though, the crust was crispy and the various pork toppings delicious. I had a beer brewed with chamomile and a session IPA. It was a little early in the day and I was a little hungover so I may not be giving a fair review of the beers but I just though they were ok. All in all I had a nice time here and would return if I'm ever back in town.

The beers are interesting and really good. I use the word interesting, because the beers I have had from Harmony are unlike any I have had. The flavor combinations are unique and I love what they are doing. They have one of the best Old Fashions I have had as well. So why the just ok? Well, I wish they had more on their food menu. I love their Brussels Sprouts and their pizza, but they could expand their menu a little more. This is another place where it is almost always busy. We almost always expect a wait, no matter the time. The service is also a little slow, because it is always packed. The bar area is also congested so waiting is the only option you have. The beers are worth the wait. The food is good to enjoy while you drink, but I wouldn't go here for the food. I go for the drinks.

Went here on Saturday. This place was pretty cool. They have a grape fruit beer that was like nothing I've ever had before- but in a good way. I got the vanilla porter, which was great. A couple other people in my group got the IPA and were not impressed at all. Perhaps that's something they need to work on. The atmosphere was very hometowny - which I like. The food smelled amazing, but we didn't order any.

Our last stop on our Grand Rapids Brewery tour was Harmony Brewing. This place isn't too big, decent amount of tables and a small bar however it was a Sunday night so we got bar seats. They don't do much merchandise. We didn't eat here but they do serve food. -As for the beer we had the Crossroads Rye-PA it was hoppy I liked it, Golden Lion pale was good, Beach Wedding saison was good, Vanilla Porter was good, Star Stuff Belgium Dubbel was just eh, IPA was decent, and Cavendish strong ale very good. -Not much to say here, really nice place, good beer located in the more downtown area of Grand Rapids and a definite stop if you're doing breweries in Grand Rapids. Giving them four stars based on the experience and the beer, I read food is good so I can't judge that!

What is not to love about Harmony? Every time we come to Grand Rapids, we make it a priority to come here! They have great beer, friendly faces and awesome food. I am not sure why people are complaining about the parking, we have never had a problem. Maybe it's because I am used to parking in Chicago. Nothing wrong with having to walk over to the next street, it will just burn more calories and leave room for some more grapefruit shandy at Harmony!

Went here for the first time and had mixed feelings. First impression: it was small and parking was a bit of a challenge, as it always is on Wealthy. We got the beer cheese dip, pizza and some brews. The beer cheese dip was disappointing - it tasted like that bar cheese you can get at the store. We were expecting more of a hot dish type beer cheese dip. The pizza was excellent - 12 inches and we utilized the create your own pizza to save some coin. The beer was decent but the vanilla porter did not have vanilla taste. The service was poor. Waiter was hardly at out table and gave us way too much time to decide things. Overall, probably worth checking out again in several months time.

One of the most underrated places in Grand Rapids! So far I've tried four of their pizzas, The Good Earth, Bobbie-Q, Hawaiian Pork, and The Herbert. They were all great, but the Good Earth and Bobbie-Q blew my mind. Their breadsticks & bacon nuts are also fantastic. The beer is awesome, they don't distribute their beer so unless you live on the East side of Grand Rapids not a lot of people know about Harmony. It's a MUST in my book.

Stopped in for lunch, got menus, and sat, and waited, and sat some more, then finally the waitress came for our order. A table full of people left because nobody came to take their order. I was worried we had made a big mistake but the food came quickly and was excellent! Pizza was delicious, pulled pork sandwich was some of the best pulled pork we have ever tasted, and the seasoned wheat beer was fantastic. The wait is definitely worth it!

Awesome local craft brewery! Great classic style beers and an ever-growing collection of collaborations and imaginative brews. The pizza here is some of the best in Grand Rapids. Exciting options, thin crust and awesome ingredients (The Aloha Goat is my current fave). Locally minded and kid friendly menu options. They also have local ciders, some liquors, sandwiches, and a patio. Only a couple of tables setup for large groups but a lot of seating for 2-4 (6 if you're really friendly).

Came here after I tried to visit Founders. Founders was closed for a private party. This place is neat in that it is in an area trying to be really artsy.... It's also somewhat residential and parking can be dificult. I just had some time to kill so I tried at a beer at their bar. I asked how the "Cranberry wheat" was and the bartender/waitress said there was more wheat than cranberry and gave me a sample. She didn't have too much to say. The beer was refreshing and not too heavy,so I ordered a pint and sat at the bar and read a magazine. My only problem was that while I was the bar no one asked me if I wanted another drink or a snack or wanted to cash out... When I took a $20 bill out of my wallet and kind of waved it around they got the hit I wanted to leave and took an interest in me. I've been to a lot of breweries in the great state of Michigan and I kind of get the impression they are trying to be too trendy. Sorry. Michigan has earned a reputation as a big beer state and Grand Rapids has gotten to be known as a beer city. Maybe a little less focus on being hipster and a little more focus on your beer would help.

First check in and first to review! Yeeah! Harmony Brewing is a long time coming and I'm excited to see it open! The brewery is cozy and deceptively larger than it looks from the outside. The tables themselves are wide and the benches look big. There is a smaller upstairs eating area as well as a larger-ish main/downstairs area. I was greeted by a friendly hostess at the door and since I was already meeting people, I went to my table in the back upstairs area. The wait for a table didn't look too long and there is a bar area to sit at if you do need to wait and order a drink. The menu is just pizza and beer (as of today. Not sure if they have plans to expand the menu). I didn't have pizza during my visit, but it looks and smells amazing. I hope someone will write a review of it! My group sampled all the beers and some of the wines and found them all tasty. I'm not a beer or wine connoisseur so I'll leave that review another person, but sufficient to say, the drinks were enjoyed by all. The atmosphere was pleasant and upbeat. The clientele ranged from 20-something hipsters to local couples to families with elementary aged kids. Seems like a nice place for a date, lunch, or causal dinner and drinks with friends. I don't see this becoming a rowdy, open-late, everyone-gets-smashed type of place. A unique concept that they have is that you can look down into the brewery from the upstairs area. My only complaint is that the windows looking down into the brew area aren't very large, and frankly, it's not that interesting of a view, but it's still something that makes it a little different. All-in-all, very happy with it and excited to go back!

Really good beer...really good pizza....funky atmosphere and attitude...what more could you ask for? This place would be a natural to be on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives as it is Guy's kind of place. Surprising little brew pub in Eastown on Lake just south of Wealthy. I tried a 5 beer sampler. They don't make a true "Amber" beer which is my favorite but all 5 of the beers I tried were good. I can't remember all the funny names but they were all good. I really liked the "Oh Be Joyful" Cranberry Wheat beer in the absence of an amber. The pizza...awesome. We had the "Crispy Pig" pizza which is 4 pork products. Our friends had a "Special" B.A.T. pizza that was basically a BLT on a pizza crust with Bacon, Arugula and Thick Sliced Tomato on a pizza crust. And speaking of pizza crust...the crust is awesome which always makes for a great pizza no matter what you are topping it with. If you don't like their combo's you can "Build Your Own" from their list of ingredients so there is a pizza for everyone at Harmony. We had the breadsticks app which is not like people expect until you have had their pizza because it is their thin pizza crust cut into strips and topped with Balsamic Vinegar. It was great. We did not have a sandwich but they looked great going past us to other tables. It is hard for me to give 5 Stars to a pizza/brewpub since I typically associate that with the top fine dining establishments but for a pizza/brewpub...THIS IS DEFINATELY A 5 Star joint! Parking is typical Eastown so don't get all snippy and ding them for that. Just find a place and enjoy the heck out of their food and beer!

A true gem. I had the Grapefruit IPA and my Husband had a seasonal brew, he loved his and I enjoyed mine, but it was a little too grapefruit and not enough hops for me, but that didn't stop me from finishing it :-) I spotted the BeerRita cocktail on their menu, and had to have it. It was fantastic. We scarfed down a salad and the Eastown Folk Funk pizza. Very Very Very Fresh, in fact they note the local vendors of their ingredients on the menu. A place I could lose track of time, while enjoying original culinary crafts, both food and drink.

Delicious thin crust (wood fired i believe) pizza. Just had the Bobbi-Q with pulled pork an bacon and BBQ sauce. Also love the Good Earth which has balsamic vinegar on it (surprisingly delicious!) and jarlsburg cheese and other yummy roasted/carmelized veggies. Also had the Grapefruit IPA Shandy (it's mixed pleasantly with orange soda I do believe!) and the boyfriend had the Gingerbread Man Nut Brown, which was quite good with a very subtle spice flavor. They also have great music playing every time we go, rather eclectic variety that should please anyone. Went on a Saturday at dinner time and were seated right away, though it was pretty full, got our beers fast, our pizza quicker than expected, and our waters stayed full. They don't always have this fantastic of service, but never terrible. Probably my favorite GR brewery (which is a pretty hefty statement!) based on food, culture, and of course beer. Founders is great too, but Harmony has more soul.

I have lived in Grand Rapids now for over a year. All of our friends were telling me to try Harmony Brewing, so I finally went this Thursday evening with my wife. First impressions, very very small.There was a 15 minute wait for a table which I had no problem with so I headed to the bar. Trouble with the bar is that it was so tiny and with no seats available I had to stand behind people who were sitting and I just found myself in the way of foodrunners and the hostess and generally everyone. After a few awkward minutes of standing I did manage to get a seat with my wife at the bar. The service from the male bartender with the cap was very good, and we both liked our beer. After about 20 minutes the hostess told me that my table was ready, so I grabbed our beers and sat down. This is where things went downhill very very quickly. Our waitress came over, she was of medium height with bangs. She never gave us her name because I suppose she just couldn't be bothered and probably too cool for us as I was wearing a tweeds sports jacket. We proceeded to order the breadsticks and the 'Roasted' bacon nuts as an appetizer and a pizza as our entree. Someone other than the waitress delivered the appetizers. Normally when appetizers are dropped off by someone other than your waitress it is pretty common that your waitress then checks in on you after a few minutes and sees if you have everything and if everything is tasting okay. Well not our waitress. An elapsed time of about 10 minutes passed and we had to ask the hostess to send our waitress over. It took a good five minutes for her to show up after that. At this point the restaurant was actually dying down as well so it did not look too busy. Our problem was not with the breadsticks but with the 'Roasted' bacon nuts. When one gets something that's roasted, you expect them to be roasted. What was delivered (and I am not joking here) was a bowl with about 3 inches of grease. We only found this out after we've eaten the top layer, and discovered the bottom layer swimming in grease. So the waitress finally comes over. I joked to her that I thought I had ordered roasted nuts, not the spillage from the Deep Water Horizon accident. She snatched the plate, and when I mean snatched, I mean she actually snatched the plate from my hand and then she barked at me like a Standartenfuhrer saying she will take them off our bill. I didn't get the opportunity to ask if they would replace them as she marched off nuts in hand, eyes rolling as she showed her coworker the nuts. My pizza was then dumped on the table by someone other than our waitress. The pizza was good, but trying to cut through it with the blunt cutlery supplied was like trying to cut through a tree trunk with a butter knife. I've had sharper plastic cutlery than that. We finished our meal with no one checking in on us at all until we'd finish when we asked for the bill. Even when our waitress came to collect our bill our waitress never even asked if we'd enjoyed anything. I can tell you now that people arriving in prison for the first day had a better experience than my first time at Harmony Brewing. Needless to say I will never be back there as I have always tipped 20% and more, and if my money is not good enough for Harmony Brewing than I will take my money elsewhere. I urge everyone to do the same. If they want to act like they are too cool for school I suggest no one attends their school. This is my first Yelp review and I've been driven to it as when I left Harmony Brewing I left really furious. And me venting my anger at the waitress in question would have only been a scene, and granted she never turned up after me paying the bill anyway.

So when do you get told to go to a Brewery for something other than their beer? When 15 people tell you to go to Harmony Brewing Co for some of the best pizza in Grand Rapids! I love their pizza style, thin and crispy crust, wood fire oven pizza with simple, well thought out toppings. My date and I tried The Good Earth and The Herbert and we really enjoyed both. The Good Earth really had a good balance between the sweetness of the balsamic reduction and the mushrooms/jarlsberg cheese with basil keeping it extremely fresh. The Herbert was actually our bartender's suggestion and I'm glad I tried it. Spinach, goat cheese, prosciutto and basalmic reduction were the main stays and it was pleasant. Overall, the real star is their crust. So simple, we were told it is a combination of only salt, water, and flour. It was so crispy and cooked to perfection, crunchy on the outside and just the right amount of chew to the middle. I am also a large fan of this atmosphere. Really small and quaint, it just makes you feel like you're in a neighborhood hang out joint. A good switch from the maximized interiors built for table turns and packing in guests (don't get me wrong, this place is usually packed). Great place and good beer. Perfect for a relaxed evening with close friends or beautiful women who like beer and pizza (sorry, they do not supply the close friends or the beautiful women...)

Really great service AND food = all you can ask for. My boyfriend and I couldn't be happier with our first experience at Harmony last night. First off, our server Alli was fantastic. Extremely charming, friendly and helpful. She made you feel like she wanted you there and was eager to answer questions about the drink and food menu, etc. Positive energy = positive experience! The food was delicious. Breadsticks with basil and balsamic is where it's at. We tried the "Herbert" pizza which was equally impressive. I can tell anything on the menu would be great though, just by the quality/execution of what we ordered. I'm not a beer expert but they have tons of options (including Vandermill cider which kept me happy.) We'll be back- often. A really great addition to Eastown!

My daughter and Ber husband took my wife, son, and I to harmony brew house last night and for not such a great looking place, we had a great meal. We had bread sticks and cappreze salad for an appetiser. Both were good but i loved the bread sticks. Some sort of balsamic reduction was drizzled on it and was excellent as was the pizza. I especially liked the black squirrel barbecue pizza. Service was so so.

This little place has fantastic beer, and some of the best pizza in town. It's small, so expect the possibility of no seating. The whole place seats maybe 20. That said, it's still on of my favorite places in all of Grand Rapids, and if I had to choose only one place to drink, or join a mug club, this would be it. Try their shandy.

I cannot possibly say enough positive things about Harmony. I am a huge beer/ brewery fan, have been to quite a few, and lived in GR for years, and this continues to be my favorite spot hands-down. The beer, the food, the atmosphere, and the service have never disappointed me. There is always a new and delicious beer to try, so I recommend asking for a sample or getting a flight. The staff has always been helpful in describing the beer and clearly enjoy their products. They do offer a full bar and a great cocktail list. The Lemony Snicket cocktail is excellent. You can definitely bring non-beer drinkers here and they will be satisfied. For food, the main offering is wood-fired pizza, but now they offer soup, salad, and sandwiches at lunch. On my last visit, a Sunday lunch, I had their salad + personal pizza offering, which was great. I got a side salad with balsamic vinagairette and a "personal" pizza, which I took half home- it was generous. I highly recommend the cheese sticks for an appetizer, which have a tasty balsamic reduction on them. They also offer seasonal food specials and definitely focus on local sources, which is awesome. The only slight downside that some may find is that it's a small location, so it can get quite crowded at peak times, and in the winter the front room can get chilly with the door opening and closing all night. Personally, I think everything else more than makes up for that. I don't love crowded places, so I always attempt to visit on off-peak hours, but I have waited for a seat before and it's worth it. Absolutely do not pass up visiting Harmony if you're in the area!

I was part of a party of 8. The wait wasn't too long for Saturday night during a beer week. We sat down at the bar to get drinks to start off. The bartender wasn't the friendliest- When a friend asked about drink specials, he kinda snapped "they're on the board" and pointed to the beer choices. She was referring to their mixed drink specials, which we found about once we got to our table (there was a display on the table listing them) Our server was great. She handled everything well. I had a Harmony salad that had sesame sticks, sunflower seeds, and cranberries. It was AWESOME! A great mix of greens and those flavors really made it special. I had the crusty pig pizza which was also good. However, my husband had picked the winning pizza- it was the special so I don't remember the name- but it had a garlic base and arugula. I would go back for pizza again!

Honestly? I've only been to Harmony twice, and this very recent time I was totally unimpressed. My friend insisted we go for the pizza, which was decent...I got the special, which was way too expensive for the simple ingredients, but delicious. We got absolutely no information on specials, or any of the beer for that matter. I ordered the seasonal gingerbread brown ale, which was smooth, spiced just right, and very drinkable. Uninterested and unhelpful servers are my main complaint here. It was dead, which should lead to higher attentiveness to your tables in general. Instead? No personality or conversation, and after we finished one round of water and beer, our glasses sat empty the entire rest of the time. Also, when you're that dead? Word of advice--don't complain constantly of how bored you are and that you should be home already. We were sitting there overhearing it all, and still weren't well taken care of.

Only one visit and I love this place. The beer was great, the pizza was awesome and they have hot bacon nuts. And they stock half growlers for take-home beer. The vanilla porter was fantastic, and the cherry bitters aged vanilla porter was mind blowing. they have some great sounding beer and cider based drinks and beer and cider classes on Sundays. The environment is very comfortable and laid back with a nice porch area outside. The day I was there they were playing a fun mix of '80s and '90s music, lots of fun. The service was friendly and attentive. If I lived in the area I am sure I would spend plenty of time savoring the beer and good eats here.

Relatively new business in Eastown - definitely worth a visit! The pizza is thin crust. The sauce is on the sweet side, and they have enjoyable flavors. I had a great experience at Harmony. I wasn't sure what to expect, just went because it was convenient on our brewery tour weekend. I'm really glad we went. Had the sampler, which was a good price. The beers were all pretty good. The most interesting thing I tried was the shandy made with their IPA and grapefruit juice. Didn't expect to like it, but I did. Didn't have food while here, but it looked good. The staff was really friendly. I had a great time hanging out going through my sampler.

Harmony is great. This place is exactly what I would look for in a local watering hole. the beer itself isn't anything super special but it's not bad either. the stand out to me was the green tea pale. I could see myself drinking it out on the porch winding down from a long day of work. the pizza can only be described as fantastical. We had the Handsome Ben which was arugula, goat cheese and prosciutto. Just phenomenal. There were a few more pizzas on the menu I want to try as well. What sold me though was the space. Kind of cramped, seemed like it was shoddily renovated and really "homey". Harmony seemed like the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else and it's where all your friends go to hang out. Also, every server looks like Zooey Daschanel. Check out Harmony if you get the chance or let this place be my little secret.

I understand that this place is pretty new and I say that they are off to a great start! The pizza is yummy and they have a nice variety of beer that they brew. I got the sampler and found that some of the styles that I don't typically like (Shandy and Wheat) were both quite enjoyable. I found them refreshing and was really glad to have tried a variety of Harmony's brews. We tried 3 pizzas at the table- they are thin crust and so you don't leave feeling overwhelmed and super full. All of the ingredients tasted fresh and the flavors on the pizzas were well balanced. We started with the cheddar ale soup and it is NOT TO BE MISSED!!! So good! They have a lunch special that one of our friends got and it was an excellent deal- $8 for a personal sized calzone with 3 fillings, a cup of soup. Can't beat it for the taste and the value.

I've been here anywhere from lunch to a nightcap and its always a fun atmosphere, busy but not overwhelmingly crowded and the staff is sincerely very friendly and knowledgeable! The Good Earth Pizza is amazing! I know it sounds a little weird to put balsamic on a pizza but trust me and your taste buds will thank you and the caramelized onions are to die for! The menu is filled with sandwiches and other options but I'm completely hooked on the pizza. As for the beer, the Fifflestix IPA is my favorite!

Very cool beer situation to where they have only a dozen or so very unique, very distinct options (all tap, no bottles). A few are mainstays, the rest rotate (I think weekly). Thin crust pizza is not my preference, but this is very good thin crust, and reasonably priced.

The first time I visited, shortly after they first opened I was not impressed, but that was because they were not prepared for how busy they ended up being. After visiting again recently, I was more impressed, as they had about 7 or 8 of their beers on tap, and the atmosphere was much more relaxing. Their beer is unique and they range in types of styles. If you love grapefruit, try their shandy. They have some great quality beers on tap. They remind me a little bit like homebrewed beer, probably due to them brewing on a small scale. Definitely worth a try, get the sampler! Recently tried their pizza, and their toppings are great, but there isn't much flavor to the crust. Also, they ID everyone. So don't even try going here if you don't have your ID or you are underage. They wouldn't serve my 35-year-old friend who forgot his ID. He got to try their root beer, though, which was very good. :)

This place is awesome! They have my favorite restaurant/bar pizza so far in G-Rap mainly because of how fresh the ingredients are. The breadsticks are also quite tasty. My boyfriend liked the beers, and they have a good assortment of light cocktails that are refreshing. The place is pretty tiny, so make sure you get in early to beat the dinner rush. However, it's well worth the wait, and we'll definitely be back.

Best pizza in GR with quality beer to pair. Fresh ingredients with light, fresh tomato sauce. I enjoyed a couple IPAs before our food arrived in a prompt manner. Only negative.....service. Was difficult (i.e. never happened) to get bartenders to serve us a beer and when server came they were not able to explain some of the Belgian beers that we were not familiar with. Maybe we caught the service at a bad time, because they were pleasant the rest of the night.....just not great customer service to start the night. We will be back, great place to eat and enjoy beer in Eastown.

SO GOOD. A little but pricey, but the place was super cute and my husband and I both really enjoy our beer (cranberry wheat and dubbel) and our pizzas (prosciutto, goat cheese, arugula and garlic, goat? cheese, potato and cartelized onion). Would absolutely go back.

GR's best hidden gem. Small local brewery with incredible pizza. They have many original beers, plus cocktails, wine, and hard cider. The waitstaff are mostly tragic hipsters, but that's what you get with East GR.

Now that they've worked out some amateur opening week glitches, I have good things to say about Harmony Brewing Of course the best thing is that they are right in my neighborhood - we needed that! A few days in, I had a pizza with lousy sauce - almost wrote them off. Now its yummy. The pizzas are all about the yeasty taste of the dough and the fitting mix of the toppings - good enough to pull me in more often than I should go. After being unimpressed by the first few brews I had, I am now raving about both the Dubbel and and the "Daydream Believer" Stout (RIP, D.J.). The breadsticks w cheese are completely addictive and perhaps one of the few perfect foods I've had in GR. Just saying.
