Burgers are huge even at half a pound! Delicious food, great service, only thing missing was a wet nap for sticky bbq sauce fingers.

Often stop in here for dinner before heading down to operate the Musical Fountain. Never had a problem here.

This was my first and last experience at Pavilion. The service was incredibly slow. I was told there were not enough eggs for the Cobb salad I had already ordered and waited for, so it would take longer. The salad arrived with less than 1 egg on it anyway. We paid over $17 for a small Reuben and a mediocre Cobb salad and the meal took us about an hour, mostly spent waiting. There was only 1-3 other tables with customers, so it wasn't busy, and the waitress spent most of the time completely absent from the main dining area. My husband had to get up and go looking for her in order to ask for something we needed. Very disappointing experience.

Great place for a inexpensive burger downtown. Gotta try the magnificent burger and deep fried cauliflower yum

I have to admit, I'm pretty superficial. When Craig and I walked in for dinner last night, the atmosphere was so poor that I wanted to walk right back out the door to Kirby's. The decor is pretty hokey and there was NO ONE in there! BUT, I'm glad we stayed. Here's why: the cheesy cauliflower is awesome to start, and they had a pretty great selection of beers. I had the 1/2 pound Rodeo Burger which was delicious, and Craig had the full pound Magnificent burger, which was practically as big as his head! Curley fries were delicious as well. All in all, if you're looking for a burger and a beer, this is the place to go.

Fun place to go to on Friday night for karaoke or Saturday nights for live music. Good place for when you do not want to go to a crowded bar. Generally a younger crowd. The servers are always nice. Sometimes the beer is warm. I would skip the food at this place.

Good service and sandwiches for a very reasonable price. Can't beat Bells Oberon drafts for $3! Grilled chicken breast sandwich was huge and tasty with a perfectly toasted bun. Burgers at other tables looked great.

I walked up and down the block trying to figure out where I wanted to eat. I was really between some wannabe classy restaurant using the vintage look of the movie theatre they replaced and the like, so naturally Pavillion was on my radar. My server was really nice. She recommended the deep-fried cauliflower w/ curry mayo and it was good. It was heavy, obviously, so I couldn't eat it all. I asked that they replace the American Cheese with Jack on my tuna melt, but they forgot to do it. It didn't matter anyway because my tuna melt wasn't toasted and the cheese wasn't melted. The tuna was dry even though it was loaded with mayo. They don't have a lot of brews on tap. Pitty. But I like it here. I'd return for a brew and deep-fried anythings.

Had lunch there today. Good food - once we got it. Not sure if they were short staffed or what the issue was. Tables were not cleared & everyone waited. If I had more time in the area I would try again though...

We sat right down on a Sunday night. The burgers were recommended to us by the staff at Mackinaw Kite Co. Had a delicious Rodeo Burger and BBQ Burger and the kids mowed through PB & J's. Service was fine once a server was found. We would return for the burgers.

I loved the decor both inside and out on how it resembled a beach shack. The menu was typical of a normal diner but this places claim to fame is there quarter pound mammoth sized burgers. If your coming in to dine you better be hungry. Service was friendly and great! Try them out.

My son suggested the Pavilion for a great burger and we weren't disappointed. My wife and I split the 1 pound Fiesta burger with avocado and bacon and my son and daughter each had the 1/2 pound Stuffed burger with jalapeno and bacon. All three were well prepared and delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive. And.....Founders IPA on tap!

It's a cozy place one associates with a Michigan harbor town/beach town. The service is personable. My server had a personality which, is refreshing. I had their stuffed burger (yes, I know pink slime but, I'm brave). I was warned that it was spicy. Ehh! I don't think it was that spicy but, there are many old people in Grand Haven so, I do understand the preface. Oh, I almost forgot about the cheesy, deep fried cauliflower served with ranch (ah, the mid-west and ranch). As far as ranch goes, it was really good. I was informed that they make their own ranch in house. Good place for a burger and a beer. It's tight dining so, just go with it.

Surprisingly good experience - we were in late on a Friday night when we got into town. It's small and there is a definite college bar vibe - if you want a quieter experience, go during lunch or early evening. My husband thought his burger was excellent and I enjoyed the chicken sandwich. The prices are very reasonable - if you are looking for a quick and inexpensive stop in downtown Grand Haven, this hits the mark. They also have a small outdoor seating area.

It was our first trip to Grand Haven. We wanted something moderately quick, but still tasty so we could get to that beach! We both ordered burgers with curly fries and really enjoyed them. Just as good as Arbys curly fries. The food took a little longer than expected, but not bad at all. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We were lucky because some of the waitstaff was not. It was definitely above average. The one thing that bothered me was that they have the potential to be that spot you just have to visit everytime you come to Grand Haven. But since it's in an amazing location that will always draw people, I dont think they really care about hooking customers for life.

  • Bob K.

Very slow service. Very limited parking. Only positive is the location is ideal if you're on the beach. Food and drinks are very average. Really, nothing to review that was outstanding so I'll keep it brief.

I hadn't been to Grand Haven before, at least not eat. I was looking for something tasty for lunch and really kind of just stumbled upon this spot. It is small and cozy inside, but there was no wait on a Saturday at noon. The hot deli sandwich was absolutely amazing. I ordered one that had chopped chicken, mushrooms, sauteed onions, and homemade ranch. The bread was toasted to perfection...not too hard and crunchy, just right. My girlfriend got the roast beef hot deli sandwich and enjoyed it as well. A cheap dining experience too! That's always a plus. Great spot! Cannot wait to go back next time I'm in the area.

The food was actually pretty good, but the service was SO slow I would never go back. Like literally, they had to go out and kill the chicken for my salad and regrow the lettuce. Took 30 minutes to get drinks and 1.5 hours for food. We went on a Friday at 1pm. The place is small, too. I feel bad for the large group who just arrived, because they won't be getting their lunch until dinner time!

Well, I've been back a few times since writing my earlier review. The most recent was on Sunday this pas week at suppertime. I must say that it is the firs time I have been disappointed in the place. The quality of all of the food has taken a downturn. We split a 1/3 lb Big Ship, cooked medium. I think the burger meat is just cheap top round and there was virtually no seasoning on it, so it was find of tasteless. We asked for the fried to be made extra crispy, but they were not crispy at all, and very mealy interior. Even the WATER! We asked for water with lemon, instead we got a lime and a slice so thin I think they were practicing with how thin they can make it. So slight it did not flavor the water at all even after crushing it against the side of the glass with a fork. I have always liked the looks of the place. Very cute from the outside and cozy inside. However the place is getting to be too small for the amount of tables they have set up now. It is very crowded. I often come in with a relative who uses a wheelchair or a walker, and it is nearly impossible for him to get around. The material on the bench seats are nearly all torn and the place is just getting very dirty-looking. I think they need to put some more of their profits into sprucing the place up. I know they make money. Every time I go in they have an additional HD TV on the wall. It badly needs new benches, and the men's room--let's just say there is a PUBLIC restroom in Grand Haven not far away that I would rather use. One other peeve--NO WIFI!

Had lunch there today after a long walk in Spring Lake. I had the BLT and my husband had the vegetarian black bean wrap. Both were very good and our plates went back completely empty. Our service was fast and friendly. So far, it is the best meal we have had in Grand Haven.

  • Ben P.

The burgers were very good, cooked the way I asked, and fairly priced for what you get. Service was good...our waitress went out of her way trying to track down a bottle of beer that she was fairly sure they were out of. The beer selection itself is pretty minimal though, so don't expect to have a craft beer to go with your plate. I'll return again when I'm in town.

  • Henry T.

Got the roast beef sandwich which was meh. We were hungry from the drive from Ann Arbor and needed some grub. The sandwich itself is filled with mayo and it too simple. I could've made it at home myself. The lettuce wasn't all that fresh. Overall, not a great item, and not something I'd get again. The burgers in our table all came out well done despite any preference they had for the patty. Fries are good and crispy.
