I was hesitant to go here because I wasn't sure what to expect. A Caribbean restaurant on the east side of town sounded questionable. And I didn't know if there was seating or what...(yes there are several areas). Boy am I glad we took the chance. It was really delicious and fresh. We ordered a lime shrimp bowl and veggie bowl with coco bread and shrimp sliders. The chefs really know how to make healthy food with so much flavor. Think mango, lime, garlic, spices, pineapple, peppers.....yum.... I could eat here once a week easily. It was obvious that the staff cared about the food and making our meal great. I always enjoy a place where people work because they want to and not just for a paycheck. We will be back..... I hope they get the customer base to stay open later though. They currently close at 7pm....

Just visited today, and I will be back again! They have a good selection. I ended up getting the Island Bowl with lime shrimp and cilantro lime sauce. (The sauce was awesome!) I love how they put the sauce and fruit on the side-perfect for a picky, conservative eater like me. I was able to apply the sauce as much as I wanted and incorporate the fruit as desired.

Yummy food and great service! I always get the Island bowls, trying different combinations - they're all good. Mark is such a nice guy and the staff are all great. Find this place and try it - you won't be sorry!

My husband and I recently had lunch a Grand Haven Islands. It's a wonderfully unique restaurant in GH and we were really looking forward to trying it out. H ordered the jerk chicken bowl and I ordered the ropa vieja bowl. The food was pretty good, but in surprisingly small portions. Our bowls were the size of a typical restaurant's soup cup. Palm size or so, with a small portion of meat over even smaller portions of faintly seasoned rice and beans, sharing a medium sized plate with a handful of corn chips and a tiny cup of salsa. We liked the novelty and vision of the restaurant, but really hope that they could be more generous with their portions in the future - even by just giving more rice and beans.

What a great spot! I love the bowl menu choices and the owner was especially nice. He brought a delicious orange cream tart without the crust when he learned I eat gluten free. Wonderful service and nice prices.

Great bowls made of a mix of rice, beans, fruit mix, meat, with your choice of sauce. Recommend the garlic lime chicken with cilantro lime sauce. Also, try the great soups that rival any gourmet soups. The owners are very nice and offer up great service for dine in. They also have a food truck in the summer. A must when in GH!!
