Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

For the price you pay, you really can't beat the pizza here. I decided to just show up Friday after work and order a pizza to go (I knew that might be risky on a Friday night). It ended up taking about 45 minutes, which I knew could happen, but even still they ended up buying me a drink. I thought that was real nice. They don't take cards, so plan ahead to bring cash or a check.

Good for bar pizza. Crust does not taste home made to us and the meat toppings are very salty. We preferred the thicker crust of Main Street Pizza in Gladstone but they were closed and decided to give The Saloon a try. Not bad, not great. "okay". I will say they are generous with the toppings. If getting take out, be aware its covered in a paper bag on a piece of cardboard, not put into a pizza box. I don't believe we will order again. ( and the reviewer's who stated it is greasy/oily are 100% right. )

We come to the UP every summer. This year we decided to go out but really had no idea where to go. Thanks to yelp reviews, we stopped in at the Saloon. On a Tuesday night I think there were only two ladies on staff. The place was pretty full for 8 pm. We seated ourselves. The ladies were spread pretty thin, but we loved the pizza! Crispy crust and plenty of cheese! It was a nice treat after our long drive.

Delicious pizza. Very rich cheese, pepperonis and bacon were thick and tasty. Very good pizza. We left full and satisfied. Only thing missing...some good ol' ranch dressing for dipping pizza.

This is good, small town, greasy pizza. Yes I am sure some of the items are canned or basic toppings.....but this is not a CPK. I have lived in many places, but each time I come home....I can't wait to get here and order their pizza and amazing stuffed mozzarella breadsticks. They make their own sauce and dough for the pizza. I always order pepperoni, ham, and sausage! Is the decor lacking? For sure. Do you feel like you stepped back in time? Absolutely. Lets just call it "nostalgic and retro with a little bit of a yooper touch"... This place gets super busy on the weekends (an hour wait or so because there are so many take out orders). So plan on arriving and having a few beers before your pizza :)

Make no mistake. The Saloon has the best pizza in the U.P. if not all of Michigan. You will love the experience and company. Great people waiting on you and two things to remember. Doesn't open until 5 and no credit cards. If that doesn't work for you, go to Pizza Hut.

I've had my fair share of hoity-toity pizzas all over this country, but I would trade them all for my Saloon sausage and extra cheese favorite. Greasy, cheesy, flavorful and just plain awesome!!

Decent crust, but the toppings are typically Yooper: Bland and canned. A big minus here is they don't accept credit/debit cards, foolishly penny wise and pound foolish. Time for them to leave 1982 behind and at least progress to the late 90's.
