It's a Thai place, so as everyone knows you don't go there for Chinese, it won't be like authentic Chinese though I hear some like it. Now Thai food, it is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! I'm from the Detroit area and grew up off the best authentic Thai food down there, and this place matches it! And yes, they use fresh food! I'm actually definitely going there today, can't wait! I come here time and time again. You have to stop by for their lunch buffets, they don't skimp on ingredients or quality like other places. They also care about their customers, and it shows. I've heard him over talking to his tax guy or something about their frequent visitors and how much they appreciate their business. Made me feel really good about being there and knowing they want me there, and not just about the money but customer satisfaction.

My family and I were driving by Gaylord and looking for someplace unusual to eat lunch on a Friday afternoon. Consulted Yelp and we ended up here. I agree it was a bit hard to find (being in a strip mall) but once inside we were pleasantly surprised. Noting too fancy decor-wise but nice enough. Service was friendly and prompt. We all had the egg drop soup, maybe the best we've had anywhere. Also got the appetizer sampler and it didn't disappoint either. My daughter had the drunken noodles which she liked a lot and, while I can't exactly remember what my wife had, I do remember she liked it too. Now to my dish, curry beef (which may not be the actual name of the dish ... I've slept since then so give me a break). I had a choice of heat (none, medium or hot) and decided to tempt the fates with medium. Bad choice! After 2 bites my tongue went num and after 3 more it started to hurt! I pushed through it slowly and from what I could taste, it was pretty good. I will credit the waitress with asking about me when she noticed my discomfort and being honestly surprised at how spicy the food was. She thought it may have been the fresh peppers they had just received, that the kitchen misjudged the amount. Honestly, I blame myself for taking the risk in the first place. All I can say is, if you've never ordered a spicy dish there, be careful! Overall we really did like it a lot. We'll be back and I'll be a little more cautious, too!

My favorite lunch place. My favorite dish is Pad Ped. One of the best restaurants in town. Best Thai in the north

Egg Drop Soup is great! The Chinese portion of the menu is average to good. The Thai portion is below average. Not bad if you are craving Asian food in Gaylord.

This is definitely a diamond in the rough! Quality Thai food for a good price. The green and red curry are highly recommended, along with the drunken noodle. The ambiance is relaxing and inviting and the service is excellent! We will be stopping by again on our way through.

Perfect example of not judging a book by its cover. Located in a dingy looking strip mall, this place is very nicely decorated and has a very cool atmostphere. I had chicken pad thai, which was not what I'm used to.. It had a very thick peanut sauce. While it wasn't what I am used to having, it was delicious. Saw some other peoples meals, chineese dishes, they looked very good. Friendly service and if I'm ever in Gaylord, I will be going there again.

Love the buffet! They also have a wide variety of quality entrees on the menu... Can't go wrong by going here.

We are glad we stopped by for lunch. The panang curry was yummy and I got the right amount of heat... HOT was just enough to make me sniffle but I could enjoy the food. My husband enjoyed his pad Thai but my friend had the kenow curry (the item after panang on the menu) and she said it was all right. Crab Rangoon were tasty. Service was awesome. All in all it was great! For 3 adults with leftover food on everyone's plates we paid $30. We will definitely visit again.

We were looking for a quick lunch on our way out of town and were all happy with the choices at this little place. Kind of a strange location but the service and food were both great! Careful with the spice though, I can generally handle some heat and I ordered my red curry hot (but not fire hot) and it was almost too hot to eat. It definitely cleared out the sinuses and my lips were only numb for a little while :). Not a complaint at all, just a warning, they're not kidding around here!

Kind of bland, limited Thai choices. Only Thai restaurant i've been in anywhere in the world that didn't use the usual star ratings. Having lived 60 years on the west coast and in Asia dozens of times, i've yet to find any decent Asian restaurant in Northern Michigan.

I ate here in the spring, because it was highly rated on Yelp. I'm a celiac, and I have to eat gluten free, and they had no trouble accommodating me. They have an extensive Thai menu, which is always gluten friendly, so I was able to order from that. I had the Pad Thai, which was very good. I live downstate and have my choice of good Thai food, and I was happy to find a good place up north to enjoy. I'll be back.

As far as Chinese - or any ethnic restaurants, really - goes, there is NOT much option in Gaylord. Being that most Chinese food up here is questionable, Bamboo Palace is quite the find. It's a hole in the wall - most people could drive past it a million times and never notice it. The prices are good, the service is excellent, and the food is great! They have a lunch buffet that is reasonably priced and offers a lot of food. My personal favorite on the menu is the Almond Boneless Chicken with steamed rice - delish!

Excellent Thai food! Drunken Noodle had amazing flavor. Started with crab wontons that were perfectly light and crispy. Fantastic service.

I would say their lunch buffet beats CHINA ONE by far in gaylord. The cost of lunch buffet is $6.75. If you want hot tea with your lunch buffet, expect to pay additional 1.50. Although there is only 5 entree dishes and one soup (egg drop soup -not the yellow googey kind you get at a normal chinese restaurant but more clear broth with cabbage, carrots, and eggs -- yum). They usually do sesame chicken on monday and tuesday and sweet and sour chicken on w-fri. The quality fo the food is great - didn't feel too much MSG which is a plus. Overall, it is best in the area, but it's just okay compared to NY standard.

Need a little patients Its worth the wait. After some flavorfull egg drop soup our meals showed up hot and everything tasted fresh as it gets for Northern Michigan. Egg Rolls bland and commoneverything elese was top notch Asian.

First impression was Chinese & Thai? But to our great surprise they have some of the best food around. Staff was awesome. But it was the quality of their food that was awesome. Loved the drunken noodles.

Very good restaurant for this small city. Excellent service. We were quite happy with our meals - I had Pad Ped (think that's what it's called) - outstanding. My husband had a fried rice entrée that he liked. The spring rolls were just ok, The miso soup - good. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. Prices reasonable.

Great food. Service is friendly. My husband says they have the best curry he has ever had! Great variety in the menu. The egg drop soup is wonderful!

Not the biggest fan of Chinese food, but staying in Gaylord from out of town and tired of the usual burgers, pizza and deep fried food, we decided to give this place a try. Everything from the soup, spring rolls, vegetable egg foo young and beef szechuan tasted like it was made with the freshest ingredients from scratch. The beef actually looked and tasted like beef, not the grisly mystery meat you usually find at most Chinese restaurants. Also noticed a lot of locals stopping in for carry-outs, which is usually a good sign. No stray dogs noticed in the kitchen either. Definitely 5 star for Chinese food.
