Truly authentic cuisine made fresh while you wait. It's never frozen waiting for your order but made to your order. By far one of the most outstanding restaurants I have ever experience in my life. I recommend this restaurant highly. The owners are friendly eager to please and a fresh face in Frankenmuth. Truly a pleasure to get to know them. I can't say enough about the food the location and the people truly a great experience.

Very underwhelming lunch with a plethora of issues from the kitchen and the clearly incompetent server. Six of us ordered the following: a quiche, alpine burger, and four salads (one "special," the rest "healthy." 1) Quiche issues: was to come with a side salad or fruit. I was never asked by the server, and got salad instead of the fruit that I wanted. My bad on that - but she never asked. 2) Burger issues: bland, dry, clearly not a half pound as promised. 3) Salad issues: three identical salads got completely different dressings. Also, they were to come with bread, which was not brought out until we requested it. Even then, four small slices of bread and one serving of butter is not enough for four people. The server brought more bread, but no butter! My girlfriend's salad was delivered five minutes after everyone else's, and also ordered without mushrooms, which of course came on the salad. I was done before she started eating. 4) Server issues: lots and lots of mistakes, not a single apology. Not one. She did a terrible job. 5) The cook then came out to apologize and see how the food was, but barely apologized at all - it bordered on her arguing with us, but didn't get bad. 6) The shop/museum is closed during dining hours. Incredibly stupid idea, management! We wanted to look but were not wiling to wait an extra hour. In summary, we had awful service but decent, overpriced food.

This is the best pasta I've had since we visited Europe. The service was good. We both ordered pasta dishes salmon and carbonera, which they make from scratch, so it takes a bit longer. But so worth it! Wonderful music coming from pianist throughout our meal. The tiramisu was yummy to finish off the meal.

Eating at The Old Christmas Station was relaxing and enjoyable. My quiche was perfect and the FRESH salad on the side of the plate was artistically colorful and delicious. My brother ordered the meat, cheese and mushroom crepe and found it to be tasty. In addition to the excellent food, we were made to feel welcomed and cared about for the entire meal.

We were visiting the winery in town, and decided to try the restaurant across the street. When we walked in, at 2pm on a Sunday, we were the only customers. We should have taken that as a sign of what was to come. My friend ordered the meat pie, (which comes with a large salad, the menu states). When we asked the waitress if it was similar to a pasty, she let out a huge sigh to show her distain. She talked down to us the entire visit. Once the meat pie arrived, it was really nothing better than a hot pocket. The large salad, was on the same plate, and consisted of 4 pieces of lettuce, a few shards of cucumber, and finely grated carrots. It was not worth the money. I ordered the healthy platter. I couldn't eat it. It was raw mushrooms, mushy carrots, lentils, garbanzo beams, hot potatoes and vinergary cucumbers. The experience was, uncomfortable. We left as quickly as we could, and we will not return. The outside does not match the inside. We were expecting a nice lunch, and instead, got a sub par meal, a rude waitress, combined with a hefty price tag. I would much rather have gone to Zenders and waited. We would have received much better service, and food, for less money.

Food was a bit pricey but very good. German potato salad was made with dill and not much else so was not very authentic. Our table ordered pasta, an alpine burger, curry crepe and pork schnitzel. The pasta was good and the burger was nice and juicy. The person the ordered the schnitzel liked their meal but I thought it was a little dry. I liked the the crepe. They warned us that they might be a little late for our table due to a large party in front of us but they did a good job.

A bit pricey but soooooo good. Our waiter was very sweet and kept checking on us. My best friend and I loved our food. She had the warm chicken salad and couldn't stop raving about the dressing. I had the spaghetti carbonara. I devoured mine too. We had nice sized portions. Our food tasted fresh. We were both glad we stopped. Atmosphere was really cute. We agreed we'd go back.

This was one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. I had the 'Cod in White' and I would recommend this place to anyone in Frankenmuth. Seriously, I can't see how someone would have a complaint. The owner and the cook were both very friendly, both of which checked to see how everything was.... Just amazing food and great service.

We didn't eat at the restaurant but the museum of historic Christmas ornaments and other Christmas paraphernalia was absolutely adorable. Tickets were only $2.75 for adults and there were deals for families. Very small but extensive considering the whole collection belongs to one couple. The owner spent 45 minutes explaining each section of the exhibit and was super interesting. Private tour, great history lesson, and great smells wafting out of the kitchen!

Read reviews recommending this restaurant and it did not disappoint! Everything we ordered from the onion white wine quiche to the alpine Swiss burger to dessert was amazing. You can taste the fresh ingredients. One of the chefs served us and he was friendly and gave great recommendations. It is also far enough away from downtown that parking was not an issue. Highly recommend!

I wanted to love this place but just didn't! The décor does not live up to the name, very bland inside and although the food was good once we finally got it, the service was slow with only one waitress working the entire restaurant and we waited nearly 45 minutes to get our order. The prices are also very high. my wife and I each got a breakfast entrée. $35 later we left still hungry

Well, we went here because Zehnders was packed. First of all, I was pretty disappointed the menu had very few items. There were not enough lunch choices or dinner for that matter. Second, the prices were high. C'mon, you think cause F'muth has "rich" people and tourists, you can rob people? A slice of quiche and a cheapo salad for almost $10. Um, no. Third, the waitress seemed agitated the whole time. She was short with us, the chef, and other customers. We needed a minute to look at the menu and she snapped at us. Forth, there were no changing tables for my son's diaper, so we had to drive somewhere to change him. Not cool. Fifth, the food took forever. I'm sure it's fresh, but I was hungry. Sixth, the portion was so small- we left hungry. The pastries also looked small... And the meals offered were small as well. Ok so what I liked... My burger was good, but it was served on a cheap slice of bread with $1 worth of a salad... Not cool. The ambiance was nice. I loved hearing german radio. The bathrooms were nice and clean also. Also the head chef seems like nice a guy. He might even be the owner. I wish you the best. So here are my recommendations if the owner reads this... have separate menus for each meal. Serve potatoes with the quiche, not salad. Have more than one burger, use a nice roll, not a slice of bread. Also, a side like real German potato salad would be good. (Not what I tasted) I know open faced sandwiches are German, have more selection. Lower your prices, or serve more food. The salad is very cheap, don't put it as a side for everything. Oh, and tell your waitress to cheer up. I'm sorry to say I prob won't return. My family members felt the same. They left hungry as well. I would love to come back... Maybe after some changes.

Great food, an escape from all the touristy places. The atmosphere is also great. I had the sweet crepes for breakfast and a decent latte. Live piano player too!

We were so excited for lunch here after reading thrgreat reviews, and unfortunately, we were disappointed! The mushroom quiche was presented burnt on top. The server didn't seem to notice until i had to ask for a new piece. That took 20 minutes so my husband and daughter were finished and i ate alone. The tomato soup was good but $5.95 for a cup without bread or crackers seemed high. The hot chocolate was delicious but served in a very tiny cup for $3.50. The final thing was the live pianist. While this was enjoyable during our meal and our 20-month-old was dancing and clapping along, the pianist was continually coughing up phlegm into a napkin, 10 feet from our table which made the already average experience even more unappetizing. I hate to be harsh but I am guessing we came on an off day. Im glad others have enjoyed their meals. I can't say we'll be back

Delicious! Stopped in because of the name and was amazed by to handcrafted food. A perfect change from the Frankenmuth usual of over crowded Zhenders and Bavarian Inn.

I had the Quice Lorraine which was incredibly fluffy and delicious. The owners are very friendly and converse with patrons frequently. We also had the Apple Vienna Strudel which was freshly made with a delicious vanilla sauce.

Had our second lunch at this cafe'. The food has been great both times. The homemade salad dressing should be bottled! The Quiche Lorraine and Curry Chicken sandwich (open faced on Christmas tree-shaped bread) were great. Nice European feel, pace and flavors.

if you like Cream, Strawberries, the ever so slightest taste of tea. Frosty Cream Punch. this was Hands Down the one thing my wife and i had all weekend that was, hard to put into words. i had a mocha type drink in the morning and m wife had the frosty cream punch. the coffee was very good. but we were both blown away with the frosty cream punch. we went back before going to birch run and both got one. we knew we wouldn't make it back before they closed and we didn't was to miss out on that. amazing. wonderful. AND, i think it was only like $2.50! what the what! the shop was very nice as well. clean, very friendly service. i also picked up a small bag of the chocolate hazelnut macaroons. they were great. i was only disappointed we couldn't make it back in to try a dessert. the desserts in the case looked awesome. maybe next time.

Dear wife and I have eaten at the Old Christmas Station 9 times so far. Each time we've been there, we ordered something different from the menu. It's an European Style Café so there are subtle differences compared to a regular American style restaurant. Everything is made from scratch using excellent ingredients so it will take a little longer for meal to be prepared. It's not frozen, prepackaged heat then serve or open a can then plop it into a pan to heat Gorden Food Services style food. The menu consists of all different types of food from different European Countries such as Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and other nations too. Be sure to ask what their daily specials are. All the breads, cookies, pastries, and deserts are made from scratch too at the café. At cafes' in Europe it's standard practice for customers to linger and talk after a meal, so when a customer is ready to go, the customer will have to ask for the bill unlike an American restaurant. Where either the customer pays in advance or the server will deliver the bill shortly after delivering the food. They have added outdoor seating which makes the Old Christmas Station even more reminiscent of an European Cafe'. Now that Michigan weather has finally cooperated, we had the chance to enjoy the outdoor seating on a warm sunny afternoon enjoying Strawberry Tiramisu which is excellent.
