HUGE servings!!! a Flint fave for Italian food..although the name "Latina" might suggest otherwise! Go for the pizza....and bring your appetite!

they are located about 300 yards east of the Bristol and Van Slyke corner on the north side of Bristol. Latina's offers good family food, particularly their italian fare. the lasagna is especially delicious. you can eat it there or you can take it with you. the servings are usually plentiful, so bring your appetite. the prices are fair, the service is good, and they've been in the same location for years and years. Good food at Latina's. 4 stars.

Good food and great service. We had a large group of 30 people and they were very accommodating. Service was fast and very friendly.

Some of the worst, inauthentic Italian food I've ever had. I've eaten here maybe 3-4 times and every time it's disgusting. Nobody I have eaten with has ever had anything they like. It's just bad.

Went there for the first time on Mother's Day. First positive note is they take reservations so we had no wait when we arrived. For the occasion they a little girl walking around handing out flowers to the moms which was nice. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food arrived fast. I had the Tuscan Chicken Ravioli with cottage cheese and it was absolutely delicious. At first I thought the portion size was a little small for the price but I quickly learned it was more than enough. Highly recommend this restaurant.

As far as Pizza in Flint MI this IS truly as good as it gets! The quality of ingredients used and the amount of toppings on the Latinas Special pizza make it tough to eat more than a few slices. Salad quality is very good and of course the baked lasagna always awesome... GO visit this place when you want great pizza and are tired of the cardboard tasting offerings from all the cheapie pretend pizza chains in the area.

Horrible food, bad service, tacky atmosphere, unappealing menu options. This eatery requires some serious updating and a visit by Gordon Ramsay to turn around this dud.inattentive service and unappetizing food sent me running out the door of this place. I requsted no bacon or pepperoni on my salad multiple times and each time it came back topped with even more meat! I was incredulous. I really thought it was a joke. My husband's meal appeared to have been made days prior and my mother-in-law's food was cold to the touch and our server was snappy to her. Go elsewhere for authentic Italian cuisine, people.

Had a business lunch here and let me just say the food was uninspiring. Everything tasted the same, kind of like they just put a jar of prego over everything we ordered. Our server was sweet and attentive but the food was disappointing.

I grew up loving Latina's lasagna and garlic bread. Now that I have kids of my own, we have shown them the way of Latina's lasagna and it had become our first meal we come to Flint. We have tried the seafood pizza lately and it is a contender, no doubt. Don't let the exterior fool you, Latina's has a whole lot of goodness inside!

The worst. Just the worst. My friend described his plate as we ate their Ravioli special as being "A plate looking like it's covered in vomit." He wasn't mistaken. Their "Fresh bread" comes to you piping out, straight out of the microwave. Like hot microwaved bread? If you do, its the place for you. Their pizza has a lot of toppings but I think it lacks a distinct flavor. It's "OK". Better than a fast food pizza place (At least some of them) but I'd never go here on purpose. The wait staff looks like all their hair was styled in the early 80's when they left high school and they decided to never change it. I wouldn't have made that comment, but they're often rude so I figure why not share that little gem. If you're tempted to go to Latina's I'd make a few suggestions: 1. Don't. 2. Get in your car, go north a few miles. Get off at linden road and eat at Ruggeros. 3. Go farther north, eat at Sorrentos or even Gina's in flushing (Which I don't like, but it's WAY better than Latinas. 4. If you're not afraid of Flint Proper, go north on I-75, then go to 69 east to 475 north, get off on Davison road and go to Luigis. OR Stay on 69 and go to Raincheck. The last few suggestions are in bad areas but the pizza is top notch, and the best in Flint. STAY AWAY. OMG, STAY AWAY. Microwaved bread. STAY AWAY. Did I say Stay away? Because you should, because it's horrible. Anyone who says this place is good should have their opinion/review labeled as "Suspect".

I got here twice a month with my writer's group. We don't get there until 10 pm, but always feel welcome. I LOVE their food - the home baked bread is the best ever. Their portions are huge, so keep that in mind. My favorite is their baked lasagna - the best I've ever had. We usually eat in the bar area and there are sometimes ten of us, but even though it's late, we're always served what we order (not 'sorry we're out cuz' it's late" and quickly. The waiter is fantastic, friendly, fast and funny. It's also a plus that they are open late, as it's becoming harder and harder to find a place with good food that stays open after 8 pm.

This place is just east of the GM Van Slyke Complex. As kids, we used to enjoy the little jukeboxes at each booth, where we could select three songs for a quarter. Latina's has been my family's first choice for pizza for more than 35 years 'cause: -the crust is good; -you'll get more cheese for your $ than anywhere else; -the antipasto salad is loaded with pepperoni, ham, mushrooms, cheese, pickles, and olives; -there's other good stuff (like French fries!) when someone in your party prefers a pizza-free meal.

This restaurant was recommended by some old friends and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. The food was great and although our server was new, she did a good job. I loved the pizza and my husband had the lasagna. Now, I am Italian and pretty fussy about Italian food, and I loved the food here. When I am in Michigan again, I am coming back, for sure...

Had a Groupon offer, was pleasantly surprised at how good the chicken caesar pizza was! A medium was big enough for 2 meals for my boyfriend and I. Good iced tea as well. Our waiter was also very friendly.

What the hell am I doing in a Detroit suburb?! A Michigan wedding sent my yelp tour on the road and landed me at Latina Restaurant for a pre-wedding dinner party. At this point I was jet-lagged and a bit out of it from lack of sleep. The party seating area was in what looked like a sports bar. Detroit Red Wings memorabilia consumed the walls. (A form of fiery purgatory for any Anaheim Ducks fan.) If you looked long and hard enough you'd be able to find a tiny Tigers or Lions logo. The Pistons seemed to be excluded all together from the Detroit sports world. I was truly in Hockey Town. I was amazed at the starter salad I received upon ordering my lasagna. It was quite large and had many toppings. Usually when I go to an Italian restaurant, I am given a tiny salad soaked in dressing. The mixture of cranberries and bacon bits made my mouth confused. I can't say if it was good or bad (I was out of it) but it was interesting to say the least. I wish I could say that about the lasagna. The amount that was served was more than one can consume after eating a rather large starter salad. The one (and only) folly of Italian food is that it can become quite bland after awhile. This was the case for the lasagna which was served to me in a giant porcelain boat. This thought wasn't my own. My friend was having a staring contest with her spaghetti. We tried sharing our meals with each other to conquer the blandness, but soon realized that we pretty much ordered the exact same thing in a different shape and form. I didn't try any of the pizza nor did I have any of their beer. I'm sure there's some allure to this place that keeps it going, I just didn't get to sample any of it. Maybe I'm just spoiled by Los Angeles.

Love this place. Huge portions, all homemade and tasty. The salads are fresh, the bread is always freshly made and warm, the cheesy garlic bread is the best I've ever had, the mugs of beer are GI-NORMOUS, and the lasagna can't be beat!!!

I really like their pizza. Been going since I was a little kid --- it's been consistently good the whole time. Maybe slightly on the expensive side for what it is but I think it's worth a little extra.

Love Latina's...it's definitely one of Flint's staples. Every time I come home, I try to eat here once. The pizza and warm bread are delicious. This is the first time I didn't order pizza, only because I had pizza last night. I ordered fish and chips with mashed potatoes and it rivaled the pizza...yummo!

Unfortunately I frequented this place because our friends liked it and they seated large groups without many problems. Fortunately it was about 10 years ago. Their pizza's were way too cheesy...almost as cheesy as the lousy singer with the shades who performed every Friday night. Maybe they've cleaned up their act, but I associate this place with bad food, awful live music and an outdated, unclean interior.

Friendly staff, good lunch specials, close to the express way. Nice bar setting and for the families a nice dinning area. If your in the flint area you should check it out.

Awful food. Outdated decor, dirty restaurant. This restaurant in no way represents Italian cooking. To start with the "homemade bread" looks and tastes as if it's made in a home version bread machine. IT IS NOT Italian bread. Goofy bread is more of this awful bread with some mozzarella cheese melted on top. It was about 5 inches thick and was extremely dry. It was not worth $5.29, we sent it back. I later saw the servers heating the bread in the microwave!! I also sent back the Pear wine I ordered that is apparently made by the owner's friend. It made me gag. The mini antipasto was acceptable, however, charging an extra $1.50 to have it instead of a tossed salad is ridiculous considering the entree I ordered was $13.99 and was not worth $8.99. I ordered the Pollo en Bucco entree. It sounded wonderful. Chicken breast stuffed with cranberries and Gouda cheese, wrapped in Proscuitto with capers. What a disappointment. The portion was extremely small and there were approximately 5 cranberries inside and the cheese was non existent. The Proscuitto was so overcooked it was cracking. It was served with a side of buttered noodles. The noodles were dripping with water and had no taste to them. My daughter's, kid spaghetti was the same, dripping with water. The spaghetti sauce is a joke. It tastes like straight tomato paste with loads of sugar. The only thing that was good was our server. It was her first night and she had 7 tables all at once. There were other servers in the restaurant and no one offered to help her. She knew that we did not like the food and did her best at keeping us happy. It was a shame that I spent $34.00 on terrible food. We will never eat at this place again.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
