In a bad location but awesome food. We tried Monte Cristo and bbq sandwich and both were excellent! We are not very close but I wish it was closer to us so we could stop in here more. I def will stop in everytime I am in the area. Chili cheese fries are really good too.

Great sandwiches and more. They have an extensive sandwich menu and the owner is very friendly. They even grow their own vegetables! Write a message about your experience on the wall before you leave!

This place is suffering from a bad location, which is unfortunate because it has excellent food. Everything is made fresh to order, from scratch. Prices are around the $8 range, but this includes a bag of chips and your beverage with a pickle. I highly recommend the French dip, the Italian melt, and the Hawaiian BBQ. There is a good selection of various hot and cold sandwichs so everyone should be able to find something to their liking. The owner treats the experience like you're coming into his home and he's making you lunch. Great friendly atmosphere, highly recommended.

This little, slightly out-of-the-way cafe on Corunna Road, located in a strip mall across the street from Ruggeros, is the real deal! The cafe is tiny and the decor is a little on the kitsch side, but the food and wine are excellent. I had the fish and chips and I loved it. Everything is homemade with fresh ingredients and the prices are fairly inexpensive. I think my husband and I dined here and it cost under $18 for the two of us, sans the bottle of wine I picked up on our way out. The owner is so friendly and nice and you can write on the wall with a sharpie about your dining experience. Check out their huge selection of homemade wines, all reasonably priced at $12.95 per bottle. I picked up a bottle of Apple Crisp and can't wait to try a few of the other varieties. Oh, and the owner told us that he's in the process of bumping out part of the cafe to build a bigger wine bar, so I'm looking forward to that. The next time I stopped in, I ordered the homemade fish tacos, which were made exactly the way they should be, with flaky, fresh fish and just the right amount of zest. Since I love a good fish taco and finding one around town is usually a tough go, I was pretty pleased, to say the least. I'm definitely going to forgo the local chain sandwich shops more often and give this cute little independent eatery a chance!

This place is legit. The Rueben was not described on the menu, yet it was everything a Rueben should be: Hot corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, grilled Rye bread with caraway seeds. We bought a bottle of the apple wine and it was terrific! Great food. I will definitely be back. The owner is very friendly.

If you are in the Flint Twp area and not eating at the Great Lakes Sandwich Company you are missing out! This place is a hole in the wall on Counna and Dye across from Ruggero's but they are doing sandwiches SO SO RIGHT! It's not super quick but Mike the owner is making everything fresh. I highly recommend the Sicilian. He is also making and selling his own wine you can purchase and he is going to start a tasting room in the near future. Run don't walk to try these tasty sandwiches and to support local businesses!

Eh, I had the steak and cheese.. It was made on a Pita and got a little soggy. Was expecting a sub bun. It was ok. Not enough to make me return.

Impressed! Small and hard to spot from the road - but worth it! Clean place, GREAT owner who will talk to you politely and has a solid and variety based menu. I had the fajita sandwich w fresh chicken and the right amount of toppings. For 2 of us - $16 out the door. Dinner offerings w fresh seafood are already on my radar. It is like having your own person cook - you will agree when you stop in. Avoid Subway and chains - give independents like this the business!

Great Lakes has fantastic sandwiches! We have had several of their offerings and they have all been delicious. The bread and ingredients are fresh and of high quality. This is just a little , clean hole in the wall place - so if fancy means more than great food it's probably not for you. If you want a super sandwich you will find it here. Located across the street from Ruggeros in the little plaza. You won 't be disappointed. 5 stars for the sandwiches - not the decor.
